The new AC 12000 was the perfect choice for all my home devices, my Internet is used for phones, Alexa and programmable outlets. My new router was very easy to install, I had no issues at all with the installation, the only thing, understandably, was I had to go onto my devices and reset default attached to my Wi-Fi again even though I reused the same WiFi name.

It was easy to setup and I like how the dual bands could be set up as there own individual channels to keep the items in my house separated and on the band that would work best for them. The old Belkin was dual band but did not do this. So far there have been zero issues and the far bedroom Roku device is working nice, even though its on the other side of the house.

The AC1200 fit both my budget and needs. 4 users are easily able to collaborate on 2 wireless printers, 2 VoIP phones, 3 wireless desktops, 2 wireless laptops, 2 tablets, and 3 mobiles phones (Wifi Connected. We rely heavily on cloud based services. The network doesn't stutter or slow down during our team and interview sessions. The signal has been great and we have not had any connection issues and we do not have an additional extender. All of the information in the box points to using the Nighthawk app to setup the router. If you are not careful and get distracted, and your phone/tablet goes to sleep you will be locked out of the setup on the app. I contacted support and they directed me to the router login which worked perfectly and was easy to use.All in all the router works very well and I am pleased.

I was able to seamlessly connect the laptop, smart television, our multiple Android cell phones, our wireless printer, outside security camera and our complete in-home security system all connected and networked perfectly. It has neve been this easy. And, the ReadyShare Vault is a beautiful bonus. I cannot say enough about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purchased as additional access pointI saw that the nighthawk was the best reviewed router and having a large (4500 ft^2 house and an additional backhouse property, I knew I needed a second router rather than just extenders. Directions on YouTube were very easy and helpful to turn this AC1200 into a secondary access point, and being also a netgear product makes all the information via the genie app fluid and seamless. As a router, I get almost as much range from the AC1200 as I do from the AC1900 nighthawk (90%). The Speed is reasonable as one would expect a slowdown for 100 ft of Ethernet cable and it being wifi. 2.4 ghz produces roughly 60 mgps and 5 ghz produces 150 ghz on 300 mgps on my cell phone.

The problem I quickly encountered was that the modem/router combo that I was renting couldn't actually keep up with my new high speed connection. After I encountered my hardware issue I decided to find a more fitting router and modem. This new router allows me to finally utilize my greater upload and download speeds and my fiancé and I can use as many devices as we care to without connectivity issues.

The most I do is stream from my fire stick. I knew I wanted to buy a netgear because of their genie app. I looked for an inexpensive unit and came across the ac1200. I couldn't be happier. It does everything I need at fast speeds.

It has been working non-stop, with no need to reset or anything. It is pretty much "set and forget," which is what I want in a router. But the features are easy to access if I need to change or review any settings. We have lots of devices and stream our TV service, and this router is able to handle the data with no drops or buffering or anything. It works great!

I was almost regularly having to reset so my devices could reconnect - ugh! This router was recommended by two IT ppl at work on different occasions, so I was confident this was the one. Once home, setup was easy, and I haven't had an internet outage, slowdown, or disconnect since.

I replaced a modem that was at least 15 years old thinking that would solve my issues. Only to find out from a service technician that my old (about 12 years old) Netgear Router was also an issue. Seeing as though, I had Netgear prior to this purchase, I decided to stay even though there are MANY more options available. I couldn't be happier!!

Best of all for streaming 4k the AC1200 speed is more than sufficient to handle at least one stream with relative ease considering the tremendous bandwidth that 4k consumes. I highly recommend this router to anyone looking for a simple to use capable router!

I have done massive amounts of research before buying and this unit is perfect! In our household we have 3 computers, 4 iPhones, 1 iPad, 2 TVs and a gaming console, most running on wi-fi and two running LAN. Netgear holds true to its value and productivity, and it was a breeze to setup! I would highly recommend this router if you are considering and have similar devices in your home.

The setup takes but a few minutes and works exactly the way it should! The netgear genie application allows for more control over your home's network, which is very nice. Great all around product!

Highly recommended because spectrum or verizon use routers that provide 100mbps speeds but we are in the newer generation speeds are way faster now and NetGear NightHawk provides that speed up to 1.3GBPS!!!!! Fast 2.4ghz to 5G!! I love my Nighthawk and i can go through my app and monitor my service. Thank you NetGear!!

I put it in my basement and ran 50 ft of Cat6 cable from my modem to this router and another 50ft from this router to another computer. Now I am running on Ethernet at 240Mps and the Wi-Fi is broadcasting at 120Mps. Highly recommend!

The only drawback was it was supposed to have a QR code to help set up. Mine didn’t come with one but it was a very small inconvenience. Set up was about 5 minutes!

The coverage is plenty for a 1000 square foot home with small yard. The USB seems to only work with older USB 2 card readers, the reason for deducting one star.

After confirming my new device with my cable company I had to call the modem provider (not Netgear router provider to get connected. They provided good customer service to get me up and running.The router worked instantly and it has been great. Our setup is in the basement and I get great signal strength throughout the house. From the basement to the second floor our internet is fast and reliable. I think it is even faster an more reliable than the one the cable company provided us. So now I will save money long term and have faster more reliable internet, so things are working out great.

One piece of advice: Advise user to write down (or take photo of ) serial # from bottom of unit before starting install so unit doesn't have to be turned over after all cables are connected.

My original router was installed and set up by someone else as my technical knowledge on these issues is quite limited. I was very uncertain about my ability to install this new one myself. I was very pleasantly surprised! It installed so easily, I was able to doit myself, and it has functioned perfectly since installation. I would definitely recommend this router to anyone despite your level of technical expertise.

So I decided to make everything netgear products. It works great! Fast internet. Great connection. And netgear support team was extremely helpful during setup and troubleshooting

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even an old dog.....On my birthday in June, I will be 73 years old. I was born in the day of black and white TV, big, clunky telephones and roller skates. I am about as far from being a techie as is possible. So, when my router died last week, my first thought was to call my young neighbor down the street. He wasn't at home. Driving home with my new router, I tried to think of someone else I might ask for help. No one came to mind, so I was on my own. Long story short, I did it. I read the instructions, followed them to the letter and am now the proud owner of working wi-fi. I am thrilled.

I would get %30 in some spots with other routers, but since i have switched i get more than %85 everywhere i use devices. In fact my wifi is so strong even into my yard, i am consideting a wifi driveway gate controller.
