I needed my Internet connection to reach the backyard. I placed the WiFi extender on the window sill next to the glass, that seemed to work best. I have signal where I didn't before, so definitely it works. It didn't work nearly as well just plugged into the wall outlet, make sure there is clear window between the extender and the area you want to have signal.

Product works great! My home office is on the 2nd floor so I have it positioned near the stairs and my connection has improved a great deal. At first I was having issues connecting it to my wifi but I called customer support and they were awesome, walked me through it.

5 star review....extenders absolutely fill in the voids in my home. Router is netgear nighthawk and easy installation. Of course the router and extenders only work as good as the internet provider....in my case the internet provider is the only provider in area....so high speed fiber and not happy with internet provider.

My PC Wifi card is exploding and this Netgear replaced it handily. I'm able to hardwire to it, and it makes the wifi stronger around my PC for other devices as well. Really easy to set up, even moved houses and setup it up again very easily on a different wifi.

I recently switched from Verizon FIOS with their modem/router to Comcast/xfinity with a Netgear CAX30. Since the signal in our Family Room with the FIOS gear was marginal for streaming, I pre-bought a Netgear EAX12. I have the EAX12 setup to be a mesh of my SSID with Smart Connect enabled. I have seen data simply stop flowing for devices connected to the EAX12. Also, on one occasion the Router Link LED went solid red. Since the signal in the Family Room with the CAX30 is stronger than with the FIOS gear, I am not sure that the EAX12 is needed. I need to work with Tech Supt to better understand what is going on and to determine if the EAX12 is needed.

I used the Nighthawk App to connect the Netgear Mesh 6 Extender to my Wi-Fi network. Installation was quick and easy – just followed the Nighthawk prompts. After installing the Extender I moved it around until I found a place where I had both a strong signal to the Extender from my Verizon FIOS G3100 Mesh 6 Router and the fastest connection speed from my Amazon Firestick 4K Max to the extender. I am very pleased with the installation – can now stream movies and live TV with absolutely no buffering. This is a great product and I strongly recommend to anyone looking to expand their Wi-Fi network and improve the connections speeds of their wireless devices.

WiFi wasn’t reaching upstairs very well, so I bought this mesh extender. Now I get the same speed upstairs as downstairs. Installation was easy, but I did have to experiment with putting it in 3 different plug locations before I found one that worked best. Good experience for much less $ than buying a completely new mesh system to replace my standalone router.

This product has brought the other half of my house into the age of the internet. I live in a hundred plus year old house with an addition. The brick walls separating the new from the old have previously proved impenetrable to my standard wifi signal. After following the easy set up instructions for the AX1600 and installing the Nighthawk App on my iPhone, I was off and running. No more buffering on my smart TV and I swear the music through my wifi speakers is sharper and clearer. I would certainly recommend this product for anyone is having connectivity or streaming problems in certain areas of their house. Five out of Five!!!

The extender definitely helped extend the coverage, but my speed did not increase as some reviews stated. It runs at 1/3rd of the speed of the provided network speed, even when plugged into a wall outlet close by. It had provided adequate access and have not had any problems with it so far.

ATT tech recommedned to buy a mesh extender when I upgraded to Fiber internet. I'm so glad I got the NETGEAR AX1600 WiFi 6 Mesh Extender. It was easy to install for a not tech savy person. I not longer have a dead spot in my home. There isn't 2 networks and I love this extender as I didn't need help setting it up. The price was reasonable and did I say I set it up all by myself in 30 minutes. Life is great and I not longer have a dead zone in my home. Ax1600 is average it is stated it wifi6 but it is not what I thought the performance would be netgear stop lying about your products

Setting this up with a Android is a absolute nightmare. Failed so many times, I ultimately ended up using my desktop with Windows and it setup on the first attempt. Once setup it worked well.

Set up unit just like stated in the instructions and worked for one day. After the one day the range extender would not be recognized on the application. Noticed no difference in signal strength from the location I was hoping to get to work which was 15 ft from the range extender.

Easy setup, perfect so far
I bought the EAX12 to provide a wired Ethernet connection to a printer with a flaky wi-fi connection (despite having a good signal). It’s admittedly overkill for this application, but I’ve had good luck with Netgear in the past, and wanted a device fully compatible with my Wi-Fi 6 / WPA3 capable home network. The EAX12 was a breeze to set up and configure, and works perfectly for my needs.

Great extender only let don by software that is less than spectacular… the software is serviceable and easy to use, but I particularly don’t like that the software is basically made for a phone and can’t be rotated… other than that, the extender performs well.

Just what I needed
I have a Nighthawk router and needed a little boost on the far edge of house for security cameras. This provided exactly what I needed. Could not have been simpler to install. With the Nighthawk App, it was up and running in under 10 minutes even with an update. I bought a second one to help out the TV and cameras on the patio area as well. I definitely prefer the mesh style over a separate _EXT wifi.

The range of this Mesh Extender is amazing. I have just 2 small issues. 1.) There is an error in the quick start guide. The directions tell you to plug into the extender and connect to its LAN. Then it tells you to sign into NetGear, but you can't because the LAN has no internet connection. So you must call to get it set up. But my rep, Robert, was excellent. 2.) Though the range is greatly extended, it sometimes confuses the router and takes a couple minutes to connect. Other than that, the benefits of this router far outweigh the two small inconveniences. I recommend this product.

NETGEAR AX1600 - Excellent Choice
We replaced our 35-year-old pool/spa control system with one that connects to Wi-Fi. Our router range did not reach the new equipment. The NETGEAR AX1600 Is a perfect solution. I (thought I had some issues with installation, so I called support. They were very patient and walked me through the installation process. It turns out that I had successfully completed the installation with the Night Hawk installation software before I called support! I am such a novice I didn't realize it was working. Next, they had me unplug it to reboot, making sure all of the parameters were set correctly.

My current wifi didn’t reach exactly where I needed it to and I decided on a whim to try one of these out, they work really well and use the same ssid as your normal internet so very little setup (which by the way is super easy and quick) also has an Ethernet port which is super useful!

That has connectivity issues, but I plugged my desktop directly into it for a perfect hardline connection, while still being wireless to the actual router. Setting up thru the app was a breeze, I would highly recommend this product to all who ask!

I purchased this to extend my existing network into my home office because we have an old house with several additions that cut through the old exterior walls so wireless is not great. This extender boosted my office wifi speed from 70mbs to 350mbs. Even tho we have a 1G connection, thats all i need in my office for work so its great. Also good to know that I can add additional extenders in the future if needed.
Despite many amazon reviews that say the setup process in the instructions does not work correctly, it worked perfectly for me and I had everything up and running within 20 minutes. Great product so far!

Consistent coverage, no drops!
My fiber network hub is in the basement of my two story home, so I figured there were some gaps in my Internet coverage. A friend flew in and on day one of working in the guest room had intermittent Internet issues. This WiFi booster was easy to set up and after installation, she never had another issue! I was impressed that I got both my 5ghz and 2.4ghz networks supported, so regardless of which one you log into, your signal is strong!

Bought this for my gf so she could work from home but be able to plug her Ethernet cable into. It’s a little weird at first to set up but once connected she seems to having no issues. Wi-Fi 6 definitely makes. A difference in her internet speed so I’d go that route if you’re needing faster connections

Dodgy installation app
Extender helped my issue but was difficult to set up. They ask you to download an app that requests you scan a non-existent QR code to proceed. Since there is no QR code they offered a “manual” method that didn’t work, so I had to call in. Still didn’t work, but got much closer. I finally succeeded by restarting my WIFI from scratch. Why no QR CODE?
Also, there are status lights on the unit. The meaning of these lights, which are pretty important for determining whether the unit is working properly, are not defined in the included documents in the package (really?). I had to find a user manual on line and download it to find out. Shoddy.

Bought it earlier today and tried using the mobile app....forget it ,either it would hook up to 2.4 or 5 GHz but not both. called tech support and asked why i'm only connecting to one network band...tech was stumped had me reset it then try to access it on a browser all failed. I knew more than he did about setup...that's sad. I hung up in frustration and the fact i couldn't understand him. I finally reset it myself and used a browser to access it...much easier for sure. after about 3 flicking hours it was set up. No reason it should take so long...the app stinks don't use it, calling tech support is like calling Mars with all the background talking and noise and their inept knowledge of setting it up the support is worthless. Basically unless you have some IT experience and can work your way around settings and menus in an extender stay away from this unit {ax1600).
Once set up it works really well and has some decent speed, but the manual is online and written for someone who knows what they are talking about not the average computer user. Its confusing in many areas and there are many needed explanations which are not provided or addressed in the manual or online. If they're going to provide support they should at least use people that know what they are talking about and can speak some semblance of English. BTW the first unit i tried to setup was returned because it would not reset to defaults, the second unit worked slightly better.

Excellent Extender Choice
I had bought an Orbi last year for use in my home office and condo. It works great but I found the master bedroom signal was very week- even though my condo is only 1000 sq feet. Netflix and other apps struggled to connect, so an extender was in need. Setup was so easy I thought I must be doing something wrong! Once the extender connected to the network, it was gone. It now just acts like the main router. Signal in my master bedroom is now strong and there is no more struggle to get internet access.

Using the NightHawk App to install this device went well though a bit cryptic. It would have been nice if you explained how to communicate with theEAZ12 via my browser, I finally figured out how to and setup the UserID and Password. A few days later I tried to logon the EAX12 but it was no where to be found. I don't understand what is happening and actually wonder if it is working as designed.

Another disappointment
I've been a Netgear loyalist for years but this is the second consecutive bad experience I've had with their equipment. I bought this to upgrade our current WiFi extender and increase signal to the most distant corner of our home. After setup the throughput was 1/3 of what we had previously. Customization options are very limited and no amount of tweaking improved the performance. Tweaks also took extremely long periods to save in the unit. The firmware was not the latest version and attempts to update the firmware manually (the automatic system couldn't find the internet even though all the pertinent settings were correct) were unsuccessful as every attempt timed out. The last Netgear router I bought had to be replaced twice by the company after their automatic firmware updates at initial setup bricked the device both times. And their tech support has become atrocious. This will be my last attempt at using a Netgear product.

After recently getting Spectrum (with the best plan possible), my internet connection was slow and poor toward the opposite end of my apt. After buying the mesh extender, the problem resolved like magic. I am thankful!

Waste of money
I have a pretty small house 1250 sqft. I have pretty fast internet but lacking on farthest two rooms of house. My router is not in central location so I needed something to boost signal. This extender doesn’t help at all. Would have returned but no longer have box. Waste of money. Should have just put the money towards a new router but figured this would do the trick. I was wrong.

Had a google mesh extender before, thing was utterly useless.Got this one and my download speeds shot up 400mbps upon installation. Super impressive. Even had better speeds than the google one when placed across the house from the router. Needless to say, very happy with my product.

Amazing, would recommend!
My internet router doesn’t provide good service in my room, so I would use all my roaming data each month by having to be off wifi to get anything to load on my phone. This completely solved my problem! I am always on wifi now with NO problems. Amazing product 10/10 would definitely recommend!!

I went through a few different wifi extenders and they were not working to fix my problem. I was using it to connect my ps5 in a dead spot in a 3 bedroom home. This brought me from 15mps to 250 mps! Easy set up too.

We've had a linksys router for a long time and it just wasn't doing its job anymore.. it was slow, would disconnect overall we needed something new. Went to bestbuy got this little guy and gamer dad hasn't complain since.. he's very happy now.

Setup took a few minutes. press WPS button on main router then press WPS on the Netgear AX1600, wait a few minutes for all lights to go green and reposition the extender. Done!

We were having a hard time using our ROKU/FireStick to stream movies and TV in the rooms furthest from our internet router. The NETGEAR AX1600 WiFi 6 Mesh Extender was super easy to set up and has greatly improved the WiFi signal. Watching movies is no longer interrupted with buffering and timeouts. Great piece of kit!

Great way to extend your range
I purchased the NETGEAR AX1600 WiFi 6 Mesh Extender recently in order to resolve issues getting my wifi signal from one end of my house to the other end and out into my garage where I have a treadmill and TV set up. I was getting less than 10Mb to the TV and when streaming Plex in bluray and higher res, I would see frequent glitching, or sometimes it would fail to even start. I got this extender, used my Netgear app I had set up with my x10, and had the new extender up and running in minutes. It even pulled down firmware and installed it during this process. All I needed to know were my wifi network SSIDs and passwords. I immediately tested connectivity to my TV in the garage and I am now getting 110Mb and up consistently. Have not had a problem since. This was an effortless process, and it uses existing SSIDs so no need to have secondary SSIDs for the extender. I am very happy with the purchase.

Nice Range and stability
After trying few other brands for similar price point, the value and performance of this unit is priceless. The only problem was that after installation and configuration the app will not recognize the unit. Read the forums and support website and found out about an update. I then applied the update and the app recognized the unit and now I can control it from the app. I am happy with my purchase.

I purchased this extender since the description said it was an easy set up. That was not the case. It will not link with my Netgear AC-1750. When I called tech support I was told that I had to email them my receipt since the manufacture date was in 2021. I purchased the AX1600 from Best Buy a week ago. The tech support person had such a heavy accent that I was unable to understand most of what she was saying. I still do not have the extender working and have been told not to take the extender back to Best Buy. Not customer oriented.

My office is a long rectangle with an office way in the rear. This space is used daily, however our internet connection back there is very weak. So weak that when I installed a ring camera it would not connect. After I put in the Extender everything works great.

My wifi signal was weak at the far end of my home (1900 sqft) so the outdoor security camera was randomly sensitive to movement. After the extender was installed the signal is strong and installation of the unit was straightforward without complications.

Product is really easy to set up, just add the app and follow the steps. As soon as I had it up and running my Ring camera in the back the always went out started working and hasn't stopped since. Removed one star because there has been 2-3 occasions where the TV froze but it resumed fairly quickly. Would buy again.

Probably the easiest way to extend your wifi. Works as a mesh as opposed to an extender. Simple plug it in and connect it to your existing router using the netgear app. Thats it. For me it tripled my internet speed on my 2nd floor(router in basement)!

I was experiencing areas in the rear of my home which my internet had a poor signal. Was unable to watch tv; my current internet servicer said no WiFi extender was compatible with the router except their extender. Just moved into a bigger house and dsl modem is on main floor, so signal was weak in the basement. Plugged this in close to the router and it really helped with coverage and signal strength. I'm able to stream my UHD movies and live streams without any issues. I would buy again.

Works great, setup app issue
The Nighthawk setup app on my Android phone worked OK until the registration password process at the end, may have been a net gear server issue. I logged directly into the extender to resolve. Second issue, if you choose to use a single SSID, you may not be able to turn off the 5G radio. Otherwise, everything works great and I no longer need a LINKSYS extender that I thought I'd have to use to cover the rest of the house.

I purchased the extended due to wifi connection issues I ran into when working from home. My wifi was constantly in and out as I was on the opposite side of my house and at the farthest point from the router. Initially bought the TP-Link AX1800 WiFi 6 but the Wi-Fi had issues during zoom meetings. Opted for the Netgear AX1600 WiFi 6 and those issues are seemingly gone. Still early stages but looks promising. This is to get stronger wifi signal at the far end of my home on the second floor (router is on first floor on the opposite end of the home). Very happy so far!

Huge signal improvement
I had bought a tv for my bedroom in an old brick building. My phones worked fine on wifi in my bedroom but the TV would struggle to connect at different times of day. I got this little extender after upgrading to fiber internet, because my older Apple Airport Express was not up to the challenge of the higher speed of WiFi 6. This extender is super easy to set up, recognizing my network with no problem. I definitely like the fact that its extended network has the same name and password as my main network, unlike another model that I tried from a different company (and subsequently returned). Exactly what I was looking for.

Killed my Mesh System
I consider myself to be tech savvy, but adding this thing killed my Netgear Nighthawk Mesh system and took me forever to get it back in working order. Then I discovered my Sonos system didn't work with a WiFi extender. I sent it back...and got an additional satellite for my Mesh system, it was up and running in less than 15 minutes and absolutely no issues, Sonos works great. What a waste of my time with this extender.

WIFI signal reaches well throughout the whole office and works well. Periodically, ESET security throws a message that the extender is trying to access and create a poison file, so something in the ip address that ESET does not like. Otherwise the unit works well.

Great device overall, definitely took a little time to get location right in to optimize signal but could not be happier.
Prior to purchasing the extender, I had been having major connectivity issues from my Xfinity modem (new xFi) and adding this to the upstairs (where a majority of the issues were happening) has made the signal so much better.

This has definitely helped with preventing streaming services from buffering. My router is on the second story so my devices that are on the first floor have trouble when loading. Luckily this WiFi extender has helped with the issue!

Perfect Connection.
My network connection went from being problematic to perfect, thanks to the Netgear access point. I don’t have dropped calls, failed installations, or lack of connectivity because of network connections. This is a perfect solution to the network problems I was having.

Solved our problem!
With a slow and often no service area of our home that we wanted to use more effectively, we installed our Neatgear 1600 extender per instructions and YES--it worked and we now have a dedicated comfy room to use our phones and tablets in. It's like having a new wifi cafe installed in our home!!

Not a big tech guy here. I just needed a stronger signal from my router that was located in the basement (long story).This gadget did the trick. It was very easy to get going. The app worked as it should. No hang ups. I’m actually contemplating getting another one so I can hardwire to it. Something I picked up on YouTube.

Easy setup, no issues
Needed to use the Netgear Nighthawk App which provided a very easy setup. The app also monitors how the system is performing which is a nice feature. I have aluminum siding on my home which does have a detrimental effect on outdoor signal strength. I use this to extend Wi-Fi reach into the backyard. I got an additional 70 feet beyond the house which I'm satisfied with. I'm also glad I decided on a mesh system as you don't have to switch Wi-Fi networks like you do with some extenders when you go beyond the reach of the original Wi-Fi.

Extremely usefull piece of kit
This has been indispensible as a part of my home network setup. I can't believe how i made it without this for so long. The setup was 7.5/10 in ease and the usefulness of the app is even a bit better than my ISP with some more minutae controls. All around very satisfied and will be adding another on the far corner to extend out more of my property.

Extended existing wifi network

This Ax1600 extender exceeded all my expectations.
My old router was slow and required the use of 2 networks.
The instructions on my phone worked easy and perfectly. The new speed is 3 times my old extender and it only required 1 network. Buy this for great performance.

Works fantastic. Speed went from 12 to 23 with no drop off's. Couldn't ask for better set up service via the phone and boy did I need it. It wasn't the product, it was me at 80 and trying to learn the computer world. Again, the service was fantastic.

Good product, not so good software/firmware
Just as other reviewers suggested, I did not update the firmware so far. It works good for now. I needed to set it up twice, once using the app, and then again using the browser on my laptop so that I can access all the settings. I don't have much confidence in the software/firmware on this.

My home wifi is located far from my bedroom so I needed an extender to use wifi smoothly. I don't know much about wifi extenders and I didn't want to pick one that's too cheap nor too expensive. After two years of having a long cord, running from their rooms to my Internet box, I had been on my kids to find something that would help their computers or gaming systems run better now I am not Tex savvy, and I went to Best Buy to ask and explained my situation what I’m trying to do And I will be honest I started with the eels box that didn’t work and then I got this Netgear piece now the kids were determined to tell me that it wouldn’t work now I started reading the instructions. I downloaded the app to my phone and did everything it was supposed to do and got it working. It was all green take it to the boys room. Somethings, not right it’s red, so I check his computer the network because instructions say to use the 2G for this device and the boy had not been using that so as soon as I connected it to the TG wireless Internet thing, it started working people I found something that finally worked this Mama? is happy just to have the cord off the floor. The children are upset because they wanted the Court to still be on the floor. Thank you Netgear you saved mini lives and folks from tripping over a cord.
