The NETGEAR GS724TPv2 24-Port Gigabit Smart Managed Pro Switch comes with 24 PoE+ copper ports and 2 dedicated SFP ports for fiber uplinks. With temperature-based fan-speed control, the GS724TPv2 supports quiet rack mounting operation with a maximum of 32.4dB at 25°C (77°F) ambient. The GS724TPv2 offers an easy-to-use Web browser-based management GUI with configurable L2 network features like VLANs and PoE operation scheduling, allowing SMB customers to deploy PoE-based VoIP phones and IP surveillance. Fan makes clicking as if it’s hitting something
Good switch…. Fan makes a clicking noise as it goes round. Not impressed with quality control Cdw…… still does what it should though.

Has some compatability issues.
When trying to access a server via IP address on a different VLAN than the originating PC (on the default VLAN, access is denied. We have a policy in the firewall to allow this connection, which works on other brand switches, but not on the NETGEAR switches.

Easy to setup and manage
Using Netgear Insight and Netgear access points, it was a breeze to setup a POE wireless mesh network. My only concern or complaint would be that when the local IP address changed, it required a hard reboot for me to regain access remotely.

Great product
Had my network redone with all Netgear managed switchs. Also, ran fiber wires as needed to increase the speed. The firmware upgrade was a long process but it helped the overall performance.

Switch worked great till a lightning struck nearby home and fried switch. New construction and house electrical panel was not properly grounded.

Easy status and setup
Initial Setup was easy - have some more VPN config planned - was surprised of fan noise a bit louder than I expected. will eventually be moved into enclosed closet area so not really a problem.

I bought a business switch for a home use and didn’t know I needed a sfp gbic connector. I was a little frustrated having to wait to purchase this and have it delivered. So far the switch is meeting my needs.

To much work
For a simple product and simple use its a huge pain to have to register just to use the product. Was excited about the AV features that the switches have but between registering and the cost of the AVB license not going to bother using.

Great Product
Warranty: The warranty is amazing, a lifetime warranty on a product that for us should have a 10 year lifespan is unbeatable.Price:Even without the lifetime warranty is a reason to go with it. Interface:The web interface is pretty good, it does take a little getting used to and I am not a network engineer so it may be me, but having purchased 7 over the last 4 years it has stayed consistent, no crazy latest web trends, but a solid interface, even on this newer switch (from the ones from 4 years ago and it is easy to navigate. It is not been over done.Features:LAG / Trunking and Vlan is the main reason why I purchased these switches and they really do work flawlessly. I also like that they are not really picky with the SFP that is put in there, unlike the other more expensive big playersOverall:I will continue to use Netgear switches since buying my initial 16 port managed switch about 5 years ago. These things are workhorses as they are set up on a farm and are not in ideal conditions and continue to work in buildings through the summer with no AC but just a general fan blowing over them. We only had 1 failure that we think was due to a lightning strike and warranty was great, Simple, Fast ad we were up and running quickly.
