Rated 1 out of 5 by from bad design I nearly bought two today and I am glad I didn'tNo Win 7 support, no wired option, not ergonomic, not a slightly hourglass shaped mouse, I DO like the small light central wheel though....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Keyboard constantly disconnects from Surface Pro 3 I really wanted to like this product. I am a fairly tech-saavy individual and almost never have any problems getting my devices to work properly. I bought this Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Desktop keyboard (and mouse) for use with my Surface Pro 3. I was attracted to the compact size of the keyboard, as well as the fact the keyboard still contains a number pad.One would think that a Microsoft accessory must work perfectly fine with a Microsoft-made computer, but this is not the case. Pairing everything was easy, but the keyboard's bluetooth connection with the Surface Pro 3 glitches out very often (I'd estimate, 60% of the time, if you don't use the keyboard for more than 15 mins), causing the keyboard to be non-responsive until you turn off and turn back on the bluetooth adapter on your Surface Pro 3. This may sound like a small issue, but just imagine, any time you are reading something on the web, anytime you leave your computer for 15 minutes, when you need your keyboard again, it may be unresponsive until you turn off and on your bluetooth adapter. even worse, imagine if you left your computer, come back, need to unlock your computer, only to find that your keyboard is unresponsive, and you therefore cant type in your password/pin... Horrible.I've searched all over the web for solutions, tried to update every single driver, called Microsoft tech support multiple times (to be bounced back and forth between their surface division and their accessories division), and still have not found a solution. Some websites will talk about checking to make sure your bluetooth adapter driver, and all other drivers associated to the keyboard have the boxes for "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" unchecked, and I have done this, and it did not help.Separately, it is quite difficult to learn to touchtype with this keyboard given the compact layout (worth it if you have a small desk space though). The mouse is pretty bad IMO, not very ergonomic, doesn't have buttons on the side (for back, forward, etc), and worst of all, the sensitivity of the mouse is very poor (if you have a mono-color mouse pad, you will have problems).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy transition from Surface Book keyboard I spend most of my time on the road using my Surface Book, but when I sit at my desk in my office, I like to have an external keyboard and mouse. I use the designer desktop for that purpose. It works well and I find it easy to transition from my Surface Book to the designer keyboard (similar key size, pressure, etc...). The keyboard and mouse connect without issue and make the transition from mobile to deskbound really easy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor Designed and Incompatible Problems I got few months ago and was very disappointed... Bluetooth was a real lousy interfaced and caused a lot of problems such incompatible with other Bluetooth based equipment. For example: I linked Raspberry Pi 2 model B device and it built-in Bluetooth feature. Unfortunately, It successful linked but keyboard and mouse did not working. Same thing, I use Z70, special device for the Deaf as built-in Bluetooth (Cisco), did not working!!!. I used aged Bluetooth Logitech keyboard and mouse - worked perfectly!!!!It was shame!!! Microsoft should have their products to meet full Bluetooth specification. I also surprise it did not working with Windows XP and Windows 7 but worked Windows 8 and later. It did not make any sense!!!I'm unhappy customer as my other mouse, Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse, it was not Bluetooth but seem their own signal. It works with Raspberry and many others. WHY?I am going to call Microsoft customer service to replace it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Windows 10 keyboard! I purchased this keyboard for my third gen Core i7 desktop computer, running Windows 10. Additionally, I purchased an iOgear USB-BT400 bluetooth adapter. I plugged the iOgear bluetooth adapter into a USB 2.0 port. The adapter was immediately recognized and installed without any intervention on my part. Pairing of the Designer Keyboard was simple and quick.I love this keyboard! It functions flawlessly. Originally, I had purchased a Surface Keyboard, but it was too wide for the intended space and I'm not the biggest fan of full size keyboards anyway because I have to reach too far out the the right in order to operate the mouse. Somebody should market a full size keyboard with the numeric keypad on the left, but that's another discussion. The keys have a similar feel to the Surface Keyboard. The one complaint I have, which is minor, is that the function key lettering isn't sufficiently visible under the lighting conditions at my desk. Fortunately, I don't use function keys very often.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless if you have a Windows 7 It does not work with Windows 7 at all. Device can be found but the are no drivers available. Called Microsoft tech support. They just confirmed that they do not have drivers for Win 7. I would be glad to update to 7 but it is for work laptop. I will return it to the store.
