Product Overview
Main Features
  • Wireless b/g Broadband Router with Wireless 802.11b/g Access Point and 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch
The Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect both screaming fast Wireless-G (802.11g at 54Mbps) and Wireless-B (802.11b at 11Mbps) devices to the network. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Connect four PCs directly, or attach more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.

Once your computers are connected to the Router and the Internet, they can communicate with each other too, sharing resources and files. All your computers can print on a shared printer connected anywhere in the house. And your computers can share all kinds of files -- music, digital pictures, and documents. Keep all your digital music on one computer, and listen to it anywhere in the house. Organize all of your family's digital pictures in one place, to simplify finding the ones you want, and easing backup to CD-R. Utilize extra free space on one computer when another's hard drive starts to fill up.

The push button setup feature makes it easy to configure your wireless devices. Just push the button on the router and on your other Secure EasySetup-enabled wireless device to automatically create an encryption-secured wireless connection. TKIP and AES protects your data and privacy with up to 128-bit industrial-strength encryption. The Router can serve as a DHCP Server, has a powerful SPI firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, supports VPN pass-through, and can be configured to filter internal users' access to the Internet. Advanced configuration is a snap with the web browser-based interface.

With the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router at the center of your home or office network, you can share a high-speed Internet connection, files, printers, and multi-player games with flexibility, speed, security and simplicity!

Product Reviews
Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 94reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very reliable device! I bought my WRT54GL (1.1) around 2008 and later I order one for my parents, sister and some of my friends has the same device. The router is good as it is but as most of you knows the good hardware is the best with one of the Linux based firmware, at least this is my experience. I used my router with the original firmware for one year as I was afraid to change it but then I took the time and I replaced the stock firmware with Brainslayer 14929 Mini build (v24-sp2 08/12/10).The WRT54GL with the above mentioned software is really a got solution and also you get many great new features. If you need good reliable wireless G router cool features thanks to DD-WRT and its community this is a very good device.I hope that some of the new Linksys device will get the same fame on one day.Cheers,Misi April 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful, dependable router. I purchased this router to replace an identical one that finally failed after over eight (8) years of continuous use.We use this router for our cell phones, a Dell laptop, plus hard wired to an Xbox 360. April 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Has very good performance I've only had it for about 3 weeks, but it has done a great job so far. My older unit had to be rebutted at least once a week. So far not once. the range is at least twice as good. March 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ol reliable. I have a couple of these still in service with some clients. Its amazing they still run. Nice update too from the regular G March 10, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Please upgrade software Please upgrade software because the router is slow, other manufacturers offer more for less money ... I think we ALINUT with upgrades, for example, open wrt and dd-wrt router with support for all the extra features while the original software late .... March 8, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Whilst this may not be the best looking router out there (it hasn't aged too well), it certainly performs like a champ.Easy to configure, rock solid and the wifi coverage is superb.I still have some of these running at some of my longer-established clients and I guess they will be around for a while longer.I can't think of anything negative to say about them. Rated 5 out of 5 by I also have to give this one five stars. I had it up and running for 8 years. At some point I replaced it's firmware with Tomato and that gave me a few extra features. I upgraded this year to something a little newer. March 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by It's a tank I bought mine USED 11 years ago. I still use it, have never had any problems with it other than recently one of the Ethernet ports have began having issues. But again, its well over 10 years old and still works amazing, I can play xbox online AND stream media on a smart tv at the same time with no issues. Very impressed my dinosaur has lasted this long and still performs as well as it does. Never had range issues, could share internet with people in my apartment complex no problem and worked great in a 2 story house with a basement, with router on top floor. I would very much consider buying another one if mine ever dies. February 6, 2016
