Product Reviews
Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 55reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great computer but... I have zero complaints regarding this computer. If you want to discuss the keyboard, that's another issue. Awful keyboard and nothing from Lenovo to correct or offer an alternative. December 15, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Runs Fedora Workstation 25 Linux (Nov 22, 2016) I bought this 6 months ago and had to put up with a proprietary sewage operating system called Windowz since no free Linux distributions supported it. Although I with many other contributors, we filed bugs, resolved, and tested in the latest release, it is now a highly mobile and very responsive with the latest stable Linux kernel, Gnome 3.22 w/ Wayland support. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product given the price!!!! I was planning to buy surface pro 4 but it costs me around 1350 with the keyboard after tax in canada. I decided to get this one for 850 after tax. and you know what? Keyboard and pen is included. The display is amazing and i am so obssed with the design, esp the watchband hinge. I have been using it for a month and everything works perfect and fast. I have a mac and I use it one mainly for PC work like excel. So far so good. I got a lot of compliments from friends about the design and style.Overall, lenovo is my favorite brand and I would recommend their products to all my friends! November 18, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Worked great first...... I purchased the Lenovo tablet about 2 months ago. Worked great and then it stopped taking a charge. Tried replacing the power supply first, but that wasn't the problem. Am sending it back for repair or replacement. Customer service as been excellent so far. November 12, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Misrepresented I bought this machine (in a hurry) after my main Lenovo Laptop crashed. I had been pondering over a Windows tablet for a while. The detachable keyboard was what pushed me to purchase this machine. Many photos of the Miix 700 imply it is self supporting when attached to the keypad. It is not, and is a pretty useless laptop ie to be used on your lap. The mousepad is very poor. It has embedded left right buttons, but as you touch them the mouse pointer jitters, often moving away from what you are trying to grab. Sometimes it misinterprets a button push, sees two digits on the pad and does a crazy zoom. This is most frustrating.Maybe a nice tablet, but a pretty poor keyboard and the mousepad gets 0 out of 5 from me.Lenovo can do better. I know they can November 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by All day meeting workhorse With the onset of Windows 10, I needed a replacement for my 3 year old Lenovo Ideatab Lynx. It had an ATOM Processor and 2G of RAM. I still wanted something that was ultraportable and would last all day in a meeting without me having to fight for somewhere to plug in a power adapter. After reading the reviews in the computer magazines, I decided the Lenovo Ideapad Miix 700 was just what I wanted. I chose the model with Intel m5 processor, 8G of RAM, and 256G SSD. It came with Windows 10 Pro installed. This configuration allows me to open multiple documents in Microsoft Office, search the internet for information, and keep an email program open without running out of memory. The included Lenovo Active Capacitive Pen is a plus. I am learning to use it with the free program Write It (available from Lenovo) to comment on documents, mark up webpages, and as a replacement for a separate mouse. The Miix lasts all day in meetings without requiring a charge. The included keyboard is excellent for typing. I have not had any problems with fatigue while using it. The kickstand is sturdy. The "watchband" hinges provide stiff movement allowing the tablet portion to stand at almost any angle with or without the attached keyboard.I have received many compliments and comments from others, several requests to try it (especially the Pen), and have recommended it wholeheartedly to many. Thanks, Lenovo, for another excellent product!(Products owned: Lenovo thinkpad T410, Lenovo Ideatab Lynx, Lenovo Ideapad Miix 700) November 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best value available. I researched numerous 2-in-1s, and this iteration of the Lenovo Miix series offers the I best value by far. The version I received included the Core M7 processor, 8gb memory, and 256 gb ssd. Performance is on par with a Surface Pro 3, but without the fan noise. I also received the active stylus in the package.I use the device mainly as a tablet with the stylus. It is a supplement to my company-issued work laptop, and I use it to take notes and organize tasks. It also works well for watching videos, listening to music, Netflix, etc. The screen is sharp and bright. I also use it with Reason 8, which is music production software, and there is nothing in the way of hiccups or lag so far. I believe most complaints are rooted in my use of Windows 10, which can still be somewhat buggy. Battery life is ok, and it will generally last about a day with sporadic use.The best part of this item is the combination of decent processing power and silence. I can use this at night in bed, or to read or browse the web in a quiet room, and there isn't a loud fan constantly running. It is super portable, and comfortable to use in any situation.I purchased the gumdrop case which is expensive, but provides some much needed protection as I have 2 young children, and I take the Miix with me everywhere. The stylus holder on the gumdrop case is also key, as the plastic usb stylus holder that comes with the stylus is pretty useless but better than nothing I guess. I also purchased a matte screen protector, as the screen is very glossy and the matte finish adds some texture for writing on the screen and reduces glare. The most disappointing part of the computer is the trackpad, which is very buggy and sometimes unusable. I contacted customer service, and they indicated that "accessories" (?) are not covered by the warranty unless purchased through the Lenovo store. This stinks in a big way. The keyboard is very nice, though. This isn't a deal killer for me because I tend to use this more as a tablet. If you plan to need to use the trackpad extensively, you may need to purchase a portable mouse. October 27, 2016
