FireWire 800 PCMCIA card allows users to add an incredibly fast dual-interface to their Mac or PC laptop. By adding two external FireWire 800 ports and one FireWire 400 port to your current laptop computer, the LaCie FireWire 800 PC Card will give you the ability to transfer your data up to 800 Mbits/sec (400 Mbits/sec with FireWire 400).
Going the distance
Two additional external FireWire 800 ports let you quickly attach FireWire devices. Cable distances can reach up to 4.5 meters using a 9-pin, shielded, twisted-pair copper cable; and up to 100 meters using a professional-grade, glass optical-fiber cable.
Backward compatibility
Directly connect older and newer FireWire devices such as hard drives, DV camcorders and digital cameras to your laptop using this PC card's FireWire 800 and FireWire 400 ports. With the appropriate cables, earlier-generation FireWire 400 devices can also be connected to FireWire 800 ports.
