Love LG products! Great Support!
I have had no issues with this device so far! However if i were to have issues i know from experience that LG customer support is way ABOVE par!
All the electronics i own besides my phone are LG (i.e. 2 TV's , Blu-Ray Player, Blu-Ray Burner, Sound System)
I always recommend them to my friends and family!

False Advertising!!
This " Blu-Ray" drive states the it is M-Disc compatible!
On the front of the drive there is an M-Disc logo! What it doesn't say is that it only supports M-Disc DVDs.Not M-Disc Blu Ray discs!!
Why on earth would you make a drive like this? This has been a horrible experience! Now I have to take my computer apart again and make another trip to the store!!! I certainly will not buy an LG drive!!

My 2nd one and like before, they all go bad after one year.
I like LG, but I think they have drop the quality.
I use only Blue ray, well this one when bad and only reads CD and DVDs
but can work with any Blue Ray, make look for another brand.

Good for ripping
Have used this to backup my bought Blu-ray disc and CDs. With MakeMKV I can rip my Blu-ray discs in about 20 minutes and with a 33 GB output file. The drive is very quiet in operation and seems to work well. I've not actually burned any discs with it yet, but will start backing up my photos at some point, and it's good to know that the M discs should last longer than standard Blu-rays. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Excellent Blu-ray Disc Writer
The drive installed easily with no problems, and has been easy to use. It included several programs, a player, data disc creator, adviser, label printer. It did not come with a video editing program, but worked perfectly with the one I already had. I was able to create (burn) several Blu Ray discs with no problems, which all worked in a standard Blu Ray player. All in all, an excellent drive so far.

Frustratingly inferior software bundle
I bought LG BH16NS Blu ray and DVD burner some months ago. Now that I need to make a Video DVD, I realise that the software provided for burneing (Power producer 5.5.) does not accept mpeg4 format. And it keeps prompting me to buz the 6.0 version. Mpeg4 is a basic format. I bought the burner so I could make video DVDs of my works when required. It is quite frustrating. Would anyone know how to get around this nonsense? LG must provide appropriate softwares with the burner ar very clearly speel out that one has to buy softwares separately. I feel cheated. Will appreciate if LG can provide me the neccesary software to operate it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great Performance
I am very pleased with this drive. The drive operates very quiet and smoothly. It recognizes and reads discs very quickly. The drive does a great job writing to discs. All data and audio discs are very accurately written and the quality is excellent. DVD writing is excellent and actually quicker than I was anticipating. I am very happy with this purchase.

Excellent piece of machinery!
to bad it doesn't play blue ray store bought movies.
Didn't quite fit in my Dell T3500 bay the door doesn't open
and close right. A fraction of a hair smaller and I wouldn't
have any problems.
I do recommend this device, maybe not the software.

Internal 16X Blu-Ray DVD Writter

Installation was very easy. No problems encountered.
Plays a broad variety of formats. Burns Blu-ray and regular DVD's using my Corel Video Studio Pro X6
software.
I have only had it for about a month but so far so good.

cannot load disc or would take extreme long time
The majority of my existing CD and DVD disc cannot load.
All my existing disc loaded on my old LG DVD burner.
The majority of disc I give up and eventually ejected the disc after a long time of the BH16NS40 trying to load it. The new LG firmware did not fix the problem either.
LG have to fix these bugs.

Just what the doctor ordered!
I installed this in my DELL XPS8700 that had a spare drive bay. Installation of the drive was easy, although I did have a problem with the door on the computer. It wouldn't open to allow access to the drive tray. After a slight adjustment of the drive in the bay, everything works as it should. This drive is FAST! Quiet too! Drivers installed after I booted up and installed the included software. I burned a BluRay disc shortly after I installed the drive and it took it less than 45 minutes to write 22Gb of data.
I'd highly recommend this drive to anyone looking to either upgrade or replace an older drive.

The "Perfect recorder"!
I tested it with a lot of supports: never a fail, fantastic for CD, DVD and BD recording, very quiet in writing, it has been recognized by W7 in a flash.
I'm very satisfied and it has a good "aestetic" design too.

Cant download program from LG
I downloaded the update for this product and after I did when I opened the program and tried to update it would do nothing. So I uninstalled and reinstalled and it did the same thing. So I guess if there are any updates for this product than I will not be able to download it.

I am so happy .. I went and bought another one
I purchased one of these drives 8 months back for my Windows desktop and since then I have burned over 125 plus BluRay discs for my photography business. Its perfect every single time and no coasters.
So when time came to add an external BluRay burner to my iMac I went and bought another one of the LG BluRay burner and paired it with Vantec NexStar DX External USB 3.0 Enclosure. iMac recognized this drive with no issue, works perfectly with PlexDisc 6x Blu-ray every single time.

Over half media burned is bad
This is my last LG product. A friend recommended them as a good blue ray burner. But after his warranty was up, he had to replace his unit. Same happened on mine.
Seems LG gives you a 1 year warranty and doesn't expect it to last much longer after warranty is up.
I'd be better off renting the unit for the times I burn to Blue ray.
I can not recommend any LG products to anyone.

Won't work on Windows 11.
Once I updated from Windows 10 to Windows 11 it stopped reading any disk, shows up as a driver issue and LG hasn't brought out any update to fix this, and I don't believe they will.
Most of their products are having the same issue.

This rewriter is terrible. Errors reported reading discs that my Pioneer rewriter has no problems with. LG makes poor products.

Does not write to Windows 8.1/10 64bit
I bought this BR for writing DVDs and BRs as well.
It's so frustrating that after upgrading to windows 8.1 (from 7) and now 10 I have an expensive reader, cause it can not write under these OSes.

Firmware broke my device
Blue ray player wouldn’t play new blue ray disks, looked on LG site was advised to update the firmware, followed the instructions to the letter, got confirmation that it was successful. Rebooted my machine now the drive doesn’t recognise any disks at all.
