Product Reviews
Jabra Evolve 80 MS stereo - headset is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Clarity These over-ear headsets are perfect for my call center reps, especially those with hearing disabilities and/or hearing aids (HA's). The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) of the headset is second to none, blocks everything out, even in a loud call center. You get about 12 hours ANC with continuous use, which is more than enough for my reps.Con: it doesn't come with a micro USB cable to charge the internal batter which manages the ANC feature. Once the battery dies, the headset seems to stop working, but once you turn off ANC it works like a really good quality headset, just without the ANC. Once it gets a charge in, the ANC can be turned back on and everything is good. I recommend also buying a 6ft Micro USB to USB cable with these so you can charge while you use it, and have room to work at the desk, for when you need to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Karl sent me one of these a while back, asking me to review. So it's been a year or so.... I won't let the kids touch these. The sound is fantastic. Great highs and lows without killing off the mid-range (so many off the shelf units do that!). Microphone pics up everything I say, but leaves all the background noise out. The pads are comfortable, but the headband is kind of tight. So while comfortable, I can't wear them for a long period due to the 'over-squeeze', if the tension was adjustable... these would be perfect headphones. The tangle-free cord and 3.5mm to USB adapter (which also charges the noise-cancellation battery works in Windows, Mac, and Linux without any user intervention. :) Additionally, the buttons on the USB adapter "just work" in Skype, Hangouts, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5: Music quality is excellent. The headphone's ear-cups do a really good job cutting out constant noises (like background talking, air conditioning noise, noise from white noise generators) while on the phone. What's great is that you can switch the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) on and off so you can listen to some talking to you without having to take the headphones off. This headset worked well with Skype, and it would be an even better product if they were Bluetooth compatible.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have a fairly good sized and high ceiling-ed office with a high tech textured epoxy floor. This is great for working and meetings as long as the shop space isn't cutting/grinding/macerating metal 100' down the hallway. Then it feels more like an echo chamber! I've used electronic earmuffs for hearing protection for about a decade - they operate on an entirely different technology, but the sound deadening the Evolve 80 headset is capable of reminds me a great deal of good quality safety equipment! As there are times my deskphone is effectively unusable, I remain impressed by the quality of communication this headset is capable of. I prefer the Three B's and some Mozart for working music, and quietness is an important element of music like that. The sound quality is very good for regular stereo headphones, let alone a device nominally intended for UC! The build quality and thoughtfulness of design are very VERY good - the connecting jack is as good as it gets for wired freedom of movement. The charging through the speaker cable seems sufficient for any use - I reflexively charged it a couple of times and then forgot about it - no problems. I like it enough that despite the fair but high price, I bought a set for home. Fortunately my reseller let me link my personal account through to the discount levels I get from the business side of things, but it still wasn't cheap! Between two Labs and two teenage boys, getting work done is a lot easier with the noise cancelling.Three things could be improved in my eyes to warrant a five star review. The first is wireless - these things are big, big enough for my Charlie Brown head, you could definitely fit a bigger battery/ies and a transceiver in them. The second is verbal cues to indicate device status and configuration - the new Jabra BT mono phone/UC earpiece has a clever on/off with the boom mic and a little person inside whispering about "phone connected" and "volume high" and all that jazz. Finally, it would be nice to tune the DSP that pumps out the neutralizing sound waves - TV shows have a narrow dynamic range and the boom bypasses the middle of the filtering. The software that you can install on your PC doesn't seem to do much, but it does provide an interface for changing settings in the headset.Overall, this Evolve 80 is a winner. Two thumbs up!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sensory deprivation chamber! Blocks out the rest of the world and has music sound quality that, (IMHO) surpasses Bose. Noise cancelling microphone blocks out a noisy environment, even in the datacenter. Wish it was wireless, that may be coming soon, I hope.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I received one of these from a contest and I couldn't be more pleased! The noise cancelling feature is absolutely the best, turn it on and you wont be disturbed by anything. The sound quality is amazing, the earphone pads are the most comfortable of any headset i've ever owned and the microphone sound quality is really awesome. The only negative on this headset for me is the way that they mic is attached and how it feels like i'm going to break it when spinning it down for use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This review is of the Evolve 80 Beta version.First off I want to say I had this product working in under a minute. Plug it in, install the driver, and done.My Initial reaction was it had nice packaging, and they did not sent it with a shortened cord. it was easily long enough.-Comfort-The headset is easy to adjust. After some quick adjustments it easily fit my head. It fit very well over my ears, with no pressure on the ears themselves. It also had a nice seal around the ear that helps cancel noise. I wore it for 8 hours straight, and had no discomfort. I cannot say that for many headsets.-Speakers-The first thing I noticed was how quiet these made it. Then I flipped the switch for the active noise canceling, and all sound was gone. I tested this in a busy office, and in a home with two crazy dogs, a noisy TV, and my family chatting in the same room. Even on low volume the headset managed to drown out all of it.As for the sound quality, I had not issues with it. Crisp, clear sound, from a variety of sources. From people talking, to music, to explosions, it all sounded top notch.I would definitely recommend this for webinars in a busy environment. It enables me to listen to a webinar, without be distracted by the countless sounds, and chatter of an office.-Mic---Advantages--It definitely picked up my voice in a crisp clear way, without any electronic sounds or distortions. The mic also folds up out of the way so it will not catch on anything. This is nice when you don't need it, or need to take it on the go.--Disadvantages--The first couple of days the mic was pretty stiff. It could be pulled up/down but needed a fair amount of force to do it. This has gotten easier with use. The other problem, is that it does pick up a fair amount of background noise. I was able to adjust some settings to help this, but it still will pick up some sounds. This is why it is 4/5 instead of 5/5, If I could rate it out of 10 I would give it 9/10.-Jabra Support-One bonus is the company is very easy to get in contact with. I feel very valued, and I appreciate the quick friendly responses from their staff. If I had any serious issues I would feel very comfortable that they would fix them.-Overview-All in all, I can easily see using these in an call center. The comfort from long term wear, combined with the noise canceling technology would make them superior to the majority of headsets out there. They are not cheap, but I feel that they would be worth the price tag. These could keep employees comfortable and focused, which would easily offset the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So with lots of snow yesterday and working from home i got to put these things to great use. When i would put these on i could slip into a silent workspace. Could not hear dogs barking or anything. I was using a Softphone application and everyone i spoke with said i was crystal clear and they came through just the same. While for me they will not replace my on desk Pro 9470 (No desk phone support) they will be a go to when ever i am traveling or not at my normal desk.
