Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible speed however does not connect... Due to Apple's driver's, this printer will not connect wirelessly to our computers, yet. This means we have ethernet cables running all over the place in our office. Once Apple updates the drivers for this (apparently HP has no control over this) we will have awesome printer! I will update this when the driver issue is resolved and we can use the printer for the main feature we needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great until the fuser goes we lo fed this machine until it developed streaks. Tried every cleaning method recommended did by HP and finally replaced the duplex unit at the advice of a tech. Nothing worked.. went to a local expert on all things printers who told us it is the fuser and it would cost almost as much to replace that part than to buy a new machine. They said "That model is a throwaway machine.,"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well, still trying to get used to it We've only been using this for a few weeks so we're still getting used to it. Fast printing, easy to use, would like to give it 5 stars but it has froze up on us twice. We're not sure if it was "user error" or what happened. There are a lot of features, we have yet to use some of them and we're still trying to figure out others. That all being said, I would recommend it. It's been a good machine and came at a fair price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and Great Quality Printer! We use this printer for our office of about 18 people and we all love it! We had a similar model in our office that lasted for about five years until it was time to upgrade. We bought a great printer from Staples but it definitely was not printing fast enough even though the quality was great. This printer definitely prints hi-quality images at a fast rate and we couldn't be happier!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Please don't buy it. I am extremely techy, so rule out user error right away. I own four (yes, 4) of these printers across two offices. I chose them because of my experience with HP, their print speed, and low cost per page. The problem is constant connection issues (wired and wireless environments), and Google Cloud Print almost never works. The ADF also regularly feed multiple pages. I'll be switching brands entirely across all my offices when I open a third location next month.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best HP printer I have ever owned Years ago I switched from dot matrix printers to HP inkjets. PageWides are another evolution in printing. The price makes it an overkill for the casual user, while the commercial application of this technology demonstrates it is ideal for professionals. For those in the middle, this is a new option to consider. You save time using Tray 1 for envelopes and legal paper without having to handle the full ream of letter paper in Tray 2. The large, and thus costly, ink cartridges reduce the frequency and time you spend replacing them, adding to the printer’s savings. When you compute the cost per page also do annual costs. I pulled the printer out of the box on its back onto a flat surface and then uprighted to deal with its weight. Once unpacked and connected, it initialized in 22 minutes while I keyed in date, time and preferences for printing, faxing, etc. The wireless setup was no big deal. The entire setup was easy, especially using a Mac. Two-sided printing is very fast. Easy to use. Great design. Well thought-out details. It reproduces photos without vast amounts of wet ink, and represents and duplicates colors excellently. I’ve used various papers with it and am pleased with its overall performance. The FAX works fine over my cable provider’s digital phone line too. I had an issue with small streaks in dark photos that weren’t getting ink (things like wood grain in furniture). After printing diagnostic reports, I decided to clean the printheads. as a first pass. It worked. Overall, I found this to be the best HP printer I have ever owned. This is a solid upgrade from an OfficeJet. If this printer is a good fit for you, I would recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Copier So far the printer/copier is wonderful. On my other printer, I was not able to scan to other email addresses. I had to scan to myself and then forward to where I wanted it to go. Now I can scan directly to whom I wish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Printer I have ever owned While initially skeptical about this printer I can conclude after one year of ownership it is the best printer I have ever owned. It prints great quality, it is fast, the scanner works brilliantly, the toners go forever .. it is truly an outstanding printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I purchased this about a month ago. So much faster and easier to use than my last all-in-one. Paper try holds an entire ream of paper and secondary feeder tray is located on the left of the device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When Quality Counts, Don't Buy This Printer I had high expectations for this printer. It has great reviews. It's fairly priced. It has one of the highest ppm for inkjet quality printing I've seen. And for a while, it lived up to these expectations, before becoming the worst printer I've ever owned. I run a small DIY publishing/printing company and have ran several different brands of laser and inkjet printers for printing small, limited-edition runs of bound literary and high-in-color art collections. My priorities for a printer are simply high print quality and high speed. This was my first HP. It printed most of the first job with flying colors. The quality was great and the speed was satisfactory. Not as fast as most lasers, of course, but can't beat that inkjet quality, right? Towards the end of the first job (just a month into use), there was a subtle differentiation in color, a vertical streak darker than the rest of the page and towards the edge, for every full-page image it printed. I addressed the issue with the online literature for troubleshooting print quality. The print defect appeared on the print quality page as well, so I ran the level 1 and level 2 print head cleaning features on the printer. Still no improvement in print quality. I then contacted HP tech service, as the printer was still well under warranty. They end of sending a technician who runs a special print head cleaner page through the printer. Still no improvement. So they send a replacement printer. Mind you, all the replacement printers they will send are refurbished, not new. The technician comes again to setup and test the replacement printer. Right out the gate, it has a setup error code, indicating there is a disconnection in the printer's circuitry. So the technician boxes it up, and HP sends another replacement. The second replacement gets set up and we run the first test print on it. The print quality is worse than the original printer I returned, with vertical streaking in regular intervals all across the page. After three printers, I will be asking for a refund. It's either really bad luck or this is a really bad printer, riddled with all the bugs of a fairly new printing technology. If your only use for this printer is printing spreadsheets, memos, graphs, office material that will be disposed of shortly after printing, I'm sure this printer works fine for you (but why did you buy this one when you could spend $400 less and get the same thing?). If you need high quality print, you should probably look elsewhere. After a month of wasted time trying to get this printer to work for me, I will not be using HP printers again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We LOVE this machine! We ordered this machine in hopes of replacing our bulky laser printer, it turns out that it replaced 2 more of our printers and our scanners and improved our efficiency at the same time. This machine is fast, the quality is impeccable, it's one of the most intuitive machines we've ever had as far as operating it, and it can live on our administrative assistant's desk instead of needing it's own space out back. The print quality and software interface is our favorite part of this machine so far but it also appears that it will be significantly less expensive in terms of printing costs. The ink tanks last for as many impressions or more than our laser toner cartridges and are less expensive. For our small office, it's perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Size We have had this for several weeks. We replaced an older 577 with it. This printer has different controls that were a little difficult to master but it is much quieter than the older version. It seems to be more efficient, we will see as time goes on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scanner not good I got this printer for our small office, and it works great, except for the scanner. The feeder picks up multiple pages at once and I have to "babysit" it when I coping packets or when I'm scanning. I would not recommend this printer if you do a lot of scanning or coping through the feeder on top. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Features But Poor Quality This printer has excellent features but quality seems to be on the low end considering this is a high priced printer. I don't print a lot but I bought this for its multifunction capabilities. Just 1 year after I purchased this printer, it keeps giving me error C9C70000. I got it go away but it keeps coming back. I have printed less than 500 sheets total. Since it is out of warranty, HP will not fix it. This thing is now a super heavy paper weight sitting on my shelf.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful printer that exceeds my expectations A week in use with us. It's being used in our small home-based business, serving several computers wirelessly, where the multifunction features save us money over purchasing separate units. Connection was fast & easy. Touch-screen controls are fairly straight forward, quick and intuitive. No wasted time relearning how to copy or fax each time. Amazing speed for a non-laser, and very quiet. Time will tell if the savings are better than other options. Print quality is excellent, paper handling simple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Laser/Inkjet Hybrid The printer was surprisingly easy to setup, including the fax feature. (At first, we thought there would be issues since our fax number is also our main business line with voicemail, but this turned out to not be a problem at all.) The printer is exceedingly fast. Text is crisp and color images are much brighter than a color LaserJet. The only problem I've experienced thus far is when I was printing labels in MS Word: I changed (in the Word print dialogue screen) the paper type and paper location (to "Labels" and "Tray 1"). After that, every time I tried to print (even from other programs), the printer would ask me to insert label paper in Tray 1. When I checked the printing preferences, they showed that they were still set to their default values (of "Paper Type Unspecified" and "Paper Source-Printer Auto-select"). Eventually, I rebooted the printer which finally cleared up the problem. Seems like an unfortunate glitch, and I am hoping it won't be a regular occurrence. The copy feature is also fast, easy, and versatile. Additionally, I printed a PDF from my iPhone effortlessly and extremely quickly (no setup required). I've already printed at least 200 pages and the "starter" cartridges show that they are still full, which is an unexpected bonus. Besides that one paper type problem, the printer has been a perfect fit for our needs. Would definitely recommend for anyone needing a top-notch multifunction printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer We love this printer. We got this printer for an office of 11-15 people. We print heavily in this office and this printer has been able to keep up. We love how small the printer is and all the features. We were able to combine a lot of our machines into on! We cut down on ink costs but a lot! We love the faxing and scanning capabilities. It is nice to a able to enter emails and fax numbers into the address book. The scan to folder works great for us! The initial setup was super efficient and easy. I really like the printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER I have bought many HP printers during the last 25 years but this machine will be the last HP printer that I buy. I have had to call Support 2-3 times and need to call them again. The scanner works extremely poor. It pulls multiple pages in at one time. The wireless part of the printer also does not work well at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Junk Our print quality was poor so we had tech support look at it. The only thing they could do is run a cleaning pad through it. The quality got better but not up to standard. The tech said that he would order a new print head but the warranty company bought the warranty out instead of repairing it. One week later I received an error message that locked up the printer. The printer is now 100% useless. Yes, I did receive a warranty check for the printer but it does not cover the $500.00 in toner cartridges I purchased. Now looking at the reviews on Amazon I really don't want to buy another one of these things. Plus I have been sitting on hold for 35 minutes now with HP Product Sales Department thinking that they might have a newer model that accepts the toner cartridges. They are making their own bed, I'm done with HP.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome all in one HP This multi function printer scanner fax is awesome, works fast and great. It looks very nice as well. It comes well packaged and ink to put to work right away. I was able to connect the printer to work fast and it printed right away. I do hope that it came with a good scanning software other than the third party that is included. It took some time to find a scanning software that worked with the printer and also that remembered the last folder I scanned to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Won’t Stay Connected I bought this printer less than a month ago and every time I go to print something it is offline. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pure Junk Read the other reviews about early printer failures and the inability to do anything about it except junk the printer. It's an issue in a part that costs as much to replace as a new printer. One month after the warranty expired. HP is aware of the problem and they are still selling this expensive junk to unsuspecting customers. BE WARNED!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP PageWide Pro Review What a lifesaver! This printer has saved us time and effort in trying to print the numerous documents in our office. Our old reliable wasn't so reliable anymore, and HP's latest email had us intrigued in trying out its new crop of printers. Right out of the box, our new PageWide Pro was a dream to operate. Happy to have a desktop that prints legal size EASILY and the Scan feature is just wonderful. Touch screen efficiency for a mid-range desktop at best. An Amazing machine. Have no idea why the depth of the unit couldn't have been used to accommodate a legal size paper tray...only minus. A great buy!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Still Want to Love It My husband and I bought this printer for personal use in our home. I may print an average of 50 pages a week - at best. I like the quality of prints. But we have always had a problem with the printer refusing to print for various reasons, e.g., if I haven't used the printer in approximately 2-3 days, when I attempt to print, it's locked up. And will not print anything. I typically have to turn everything off - my computer, the printer (which hesitates to turn off. I typically have to press and hold the power button for extended periods of time). The time lost in having to save my work, restart my computer and wait for the printer to power up and get ready to print is truly disappointing. And it typically happens when I'm in a hurry. Heavens, why? Also, if the printer EVER runs out of paper, it does not just resume printing when new paper is added. It also locks up. With the money we spent on this printer, I really shouldn't have to anxiously keep track of whether I have paper in the printer, knowing it will malfunction should the paper run out. I'm always anxiously aware that I may get a print job or I may not. I may have to shut off every system and start the printing process again. And that's so sad. I'm very satisfied with the printing... when the printer is able to work. If there is any solution to this constant problem, please... please let us know.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Performance I made the mistake of purchasing an Epson ET-4750 and was terribly disappointed with the slow performance and print quality of the device. The PageWide Pro 477dw blows it away! Setup was easy and print quality / performance is excellent (a high DPI, full-page photo printed in under 5 seconds, looking unbelievably good on HP Advanced Photo Paper). Feature-wise, it exceeded my expectations. I'm happy with this purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product, improvement over the previous model I have used HP products for a long time. This unit is an newer version of the unit we usually purchase and I am very happy with the over all improvements. Faster, little easier to use than previous model and quieter. I do wish they stuck with the grey as I can see this starting to look dirty and unless there is a significant improvement (which I haven't seen yet) I don't like that the cartridges changed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP Pro 477dw It has been a great quality of printing, i like that I got the extra paper tray. It is very fast on speed. Only drawback was the set up. We have had trouble getting some users to find it online, but working through that with calls to HP support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do Not Buy This Printer!!! Bought this printer 4/19/19. Constant issues with the feeder. If you try to copy more than 3-4 pages the feeder pulls them through all at one time. Which makes it difficult to scan also. They replaced the feeder, worked for less than 48 hours. On top of that you constantly have to uninstall and re-install the apps that come on the printer. I have been on the phone with HP support many, many, many times with no resolution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer The printer works very well and is quick. The only problem I see is tray 1 for paper feed. Since it doesn't have a gravitational pressure with the paper you either have to push the paper into the trigger or designate tray 1 in your printer preference. Otherwise it is great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from more than meets expectations I just replaced my "old" HP printer/copier with a Pagewide 477dw. Works beyond my expectations. Quite fast. Once set up, it did its work admirably.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't Buy the HP Pagewide Printer I went to the store to purchase a new printer, I had the information on the printer that I wanted to purchase printed out and in my hand when I went to the store. I couldn’t find the printer I wanted so I asked the person in the printer section. The person said that printer is not in the store then directed me to the HP Pagewide printer that had mostly the same features as the different brand printer that I was looking for. She explained the printer and it seemed like it sounded good, and plus on top of all that the printer had an offer for a free ink program. I thought, oh Wow, okay I guess I will get this printer instead. I went to check out and the Clerk told me that this printer does not offer the free ink program for this style of printer, I told him which salesperson told me that it did and it turned out to be an HP representative and not a person working directly from the office supply place that I went to. I felt uncomfortable about this whole situation and ended up checking out with the printer since I was holding up the line to check out and felt embarrassed. I thought, this will be fine, I will just have to buy ink instead of getting it for free. The printer hookup was very easy to do. However, right away the black ink had streaks in it. I thought it was probably a black ink problem (since none of the other three inks had any problem with them) and that as soon as the black ink runs out the replacement black would solve the problem, so I left it like that. I ended up having to move for work for over a year and left the printer with my Mom to use while I was gone. I came back and the black ink was almost out so I was happy to see that I could replace it. I finally was able to replace the black ink and unfortunately NOTHING changed :(. I was soooo shocked! How could this be!! I called HP and by then I was out of warranty. I didn’t even think about it. We tried some troubleshooting and it helped some, but used a ton of ink in the process. They came to the conclusion that I probably need a new print head and that this is not a replaceable part and I would have to get whole new printer. So since I am out of warranty there is nothing I can do. I never thought this would ever happen when I bought this printer. I have bought many printers and I have never had one do this, so I didn’t expect this. I think because of it being an ink printer the ink gets coagulated and they made a feature to where you are supposed to be able to clean this, but it doesn’t work. I am now stuck with a lemon. I will never buy an ink printer again! At this point I can’t imagine any of them working correctly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Workhorse. We've had this printer for around a year now and have had no problems. We use it to scan, fax, print, and copy on a regular basis in our office with 3 sales personal. Little bit of sticker shock with the price of ink cartridges but they last a long time so I got over it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from null This printer is terrible we purchased this printer in August 21 of 2019, we do not print in high volumes, so we thought it would be a good investment .On September 6 2019 the printer broke and was not fixable. They sent us a refurbished printer which broke two months later from the same problem as the first. This printer was a waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So fast! I've only had the printer set up for a couple of days, but wow! it's fast! Nice crisp images, fast double-sided scan and print, easy to set up. I think I read some reviews that it was hard to set up this printer, but I have to say, I didn't find it difficult at all. I followed the directions and everything (including connecting to wifi) went very smoothly. It took a while for the printer to initialize the first time and go thru the motions of several test prints, but I just sat back and let it do it's thing. The software installation was next and that was simple (just followed the link and the directions). So while it took a while to unbox, remove tons of tape, plug in, install ink, initialize, and install software, following the directions was easy. Also have to add that the extra drawer (#3) is great to have so I can have letter and legal loaded at all times. And each drawer holds a whole ream! That's great. Very happy so far with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Compatible with MacOS Catalina Many of the scanning features are NOT compatible with MacOS Catalina. HP knows the issue exists. They have not updated their software. No fix yet. Also - the advertising is deceiving. It says its not an inkjet or laser printer. Bull. It's ink...comes out wet and the pages are damp because of the density of the ink. It's just an expensive inkjet with different technology. But ink is ink...don't be fooled.
