I had been using Greencycle brand toner cartridges for my hp printer which worked just as well as the orig HP toner cartridge that came with the printer when I bought it new. Really, the only reason I ordered the HP cartridge was because I thought I had one more cartridge left & needed it shipped overnight and saw the HP 83a with overnight shipping on ebay so I ordered just one. Honestly, I will use Greencycle or another generic brand next time because they are half the price of HP (or less) and in my experience work just a well and for just as long

I average maybe 300 . This is terrible and I guess I will be buying another printer. $70 for 300 pages? ludicrous

I just changed the toner out from the empty or almost empty one, to the new one....it prints light, like it is almost out of toner and my littler HP window on my computer, each time I print a check, say, YOU ARE EXTREMELY LOW ON TONER........did I get a bad one...........not sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Authentication fails? This is the 4th cartridge in a row that fails to authenticate. The cartridges print great, even though they do not seem to last as long as they used to (and I am actually printing less). I use the Econ settings for everything except for things that have to look really good. I took off 1 star due to not authenticating and 1 star for getting noticeably less printing. Is it possible it’s my printer’s fault the authentications fails? If you can tell me how to fix that I will give you back that star!!!!! Chuck

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dissappointed I loved the package redesign - I thought- "great for the environment!" but now we are replacing the cartridges twice as often and the price didn't go down- so now we are paying double and have double the recycling for the same number of printed pages- if you want to save the planet please figure our how to put MORE actual toner in there so I don't have to change them as frequently-

Bought an hp laser jet and lately a wireless hp printer. Don't want any problems so decided to buy an HP replacement cartridge vs a much cheaper knock off. This printer has been great and cartridge seemly lasts for ever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ok with Issues The ribbon is fine. What I disloke is the authentication prompts every few minutes, every day, all day. I've now completed the steps several times and don't know why. The prompt says it's to protect me from counterfeit products. My thought is that it benefits HP not me and is designed to make sure I don't save money by buying cheaper versions of the product that work. If that's such a concern, why not make prices more competitive rather than charge nearly $100 a cartridge?

I agree with certain other reviewers that the cartridge's stated 1500 page capacity may be overstated. The printer output could also be a bit darker. For reference, the printer model I primarily use currently is the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw, for which I believe the 83A model is the only option.

It is far from the advertised 1500 pages per cartridge. I haven't gone through 2 reams of paper yet and am experience this problem.
