MAG Docking Station features magnesium design. Magnesium is 75% lighter than steel yet it has the highest strength to weight ratio of all metals with the exception of titanium. Less mass equates to better vibration performance which helps increase the overall life of the computer.

Magnesium's energy absorbing characteristics are significantly better than aluminum and steel. Thin Magnesium is also better at blocking higher frequency EMI and has high thermal conductivity and can readily dissipate heat. Reduced vibration decreases vehicle noise and the amount of vibration the computer will experience.

Magnesium has the highest level of stiffness of all common engineered materials including steel. A magnesium docking station has inherently better durability and ruggedness than a dock made of aluminum, steel, or plastic.

Magnesium alloy has superior dimensional stability, can be produced to extremely close tolerances, and can be designed to be cast in one piece. A magnesium chassis means improved reliability, fewer joints and external components, and reduced waste. Close tolerances mean there is less chance the computer will be affected by movement.

Simple, one-handed docking mechanism. Ergonomically designed to provide the best functionality with easy-to-use features.

Magnesium is highly recyclable. Scrap and components can be recycled to the same high purity and quality standards as primary alloy.
