Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor Quality Product Our office bought this laminator new and installed it on a 20 amp dedicated circuit. We laminated two letter size documents in 10 mil pouchs and the laminator is already malfunctioning. When the laminator is turned on, regardless of the selected pouch thickness, warm time is at least 5-10 minutes, if it works at all. Sometimes it will hang up and the warm up timer never completes. If the laminator is turned off while warm and then turned back on, it indicates a jam and will not work. The cleaning insert has been run through in both forward and reverse without any noticeable benefit. For the two documents that were laminated, each took 1-2 minutes to complete. The advertised rate is 4 pages / min. With a price tag of $600+, this laminator has been an extreme disappointment. We are returning the original laminator to our vendor and asking for a replacement. If the replacement doesn't function as advertised, we will ask for a refund. February 5, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Laminator with a few issues I've been working with my 5100L laminator now for about 5 months and it still does a decent job for the amount of pouches I put through it (about 150 a month). The things I like are it laminates quickly, the job counter is very useful, it has an easy to use control interface, and it looks very cool. The things I don't like are it's lamination quality with thicker pouches (7mil and above) especially with 10mil where the lamination quality is downright poor sometimes. I mostly use 3mil pouches so it's not a huge deal but it's something to note. Also the heat-up time is a joke. If you laminate directly after the machine is ready (which is USUALLY longer than 2 minutes) the quality is horrible at any pouch size and MUCH better if you let the machine warm for about 7-10 minutes. Overall, the 5100L has done a decent job. I'd recommend it with the caveats I mentioned above. September 5, 2013
