Product Reviews
Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 39reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by We use Fortigate in most deployments. The 60D is a small powerhouse of a unit. Unified threat protection, dual WAN, onboard wireless controller, VPN capabilities, Configure over GUI or CLI. We have had some issues with modem compatibility with some cable providers, it seems to be hit or miss. the new 5.4 firmware needs to mature a bit, but 5.2 is about as solid as it comes in that price range. Rated 5 out of 5 by This is an awesome peice of kit. They are physically well build and contain good hardware. The OS is well polished and the deivce is feature rich. This particular model is perfect for home/small office (up to 30 concurrent users).Firewall, IPSEC VPN, SSL VPN, Intrusion Detection & Prevention, Web Filtering, Email filtering, AV Scanning, V-LANs, and more!! Rated 3 out of 5 by This does work but is overally complicated system. The interface has improved in 5.2 but the policy based approach implementation is nothing short of trouble. There must be a much better way to display and understand the policy routing. April 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A great UTM solution for the SMB sectors. We deploy this device to all of our clients (unless size of the company justifies a larger solution like the 200A). Very reliable and fairly easy to setup and maintain, the overall solutions offered by the device make it able to fit our client's needs. September 15, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible Technical Support! I called and somebody was supposed to call me back, one week after, I receive an email from them (well from noreply@fortinet.com) asking me if my issue was resolved! I could not even respond to them since no email was provided to that noreply email! Stay away from them, it's only a call center when you win loose most of your time. At this time, the handset I just bought hasn't been working since I bought it and I have no way of getting support. September 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I have 6 of these on Metro Optical Ethernet. Routing is done with OSPF. Will be adding more services soon. They seem to be pretty capable little devices. March 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I have used FortiNet devices for a few years now. They do have a learning curve to them because they are very flexible and that creates some unavoidable complexity, but I think the result is worth the effort. To be fair, I haven't used other UTM devices so I can't compare with others in the same class. But once you learn them, FortiGates are excellent.I have had to use support a few times over the years, and my experience has been just the opposite of the horror stories entered here. Every time I needed support, I had a competent engineer who remoted in and methodically checked through everything until the problem was found.Honestly, my experience has been very positive and I use FortiGate UTMs exclusively for my clients. Rated 3 out of 5 by better than some of their products but because of support issues with Fortinet I would be hesitant to use their products. January 16, 2014
