F5 BIG-IP Application Delivery Controller (ADC) platforms can manage even the heaviest traffic loads at both layer 4 and layer 7. By merging high-performance switching fabric, specialized hardware, and advanced software, F5 provides the flexibility to make in-depth application decisions without introducing bottlenecks.

With the high performance you get from BIG-IP platforms, you can consolidate devices- saving management costs, electricity, space, and cooling - and still have room to grow.

BIG-IP ADC appliances can help you simplify your network by offloading servers and consolidaling devices, saving management costs as well as power, space, and cooling in the data center.

With the massive performance and scalability of the BIG-IP platform, you can reduce the number of Application Delivery Controllers you need to deliver even the most demanding applications. By offloading computationally intense processes, you can significant / reduce the number of application servers needed.

Product Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by 2reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by It was designed by keeping in mind that newbies configure it, and it is properly documented. Valuable Features:I have been working on the LTM and GTM line and both of the products are awesome. I would consider the WideIP and Zone Runner feature of GTM extremely useful. While LTM has SNAT and Virtual IP that keeps its pride going. For the overall product, I would say provisioning is a good feature. There are other modules, too, which are good and people might want to try, such as APM and ASM. They are used for firewall and SSL VPN.Improvements to My Organization:This has helped us to build robust solutions for what my company does. We are fond of the load balancing feature for DNS and servers.Room for Improvement:The only area that has room for improvement would be pricing, so that its competitors don't have a say. Other than that, the v11 clustering is a new technology they have brought in that doesn’t require improvement. They are the leader in it.Use of Solution:I have used this product for around three years.Stability Issues:We did not find any stability issues while working. But bugs are the part of program and they are fixed with every release, as with any vendor.Scalability Issues:I have not encountered any scalability issues.Technical Support:We did not require technical support much, as the product has good documentation. However, the experience with support as compared to other vendors was not that excellent. But it is usable.Previous Solutions:Regarding load balancing, this was our first product.Initial Setup:Initial setup is tricky if you don’t understand the design of this product. But if you do understand it, initial setup is straightforward.Cost and Licensing Advice:This product is costly from a licensing perspective, considering its competitors. There is where it lost a rating point from me.If your IT budget is good, go for it.Other Advice:Attend a training class before trying to deploy it, or at least refer to online videos on their portal, as this would make it fairly easy for you.It is one of the best and easiest load-balancing solution. The product was designed by keeping in mind that newbies configure it, and it is properly documented.Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.
