Product Reviews
Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 58reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Liking it so far I recently upgraded from a 7 year old 3880 to a P800, because the 3880 began dripping black ink on the paper. The P800 seems to have most of the same internal guts with the exception of a new print head and ink set. The size and weight are about the same. I find the front loading media tray to be somewhat fiddly, and I wonder why Epson chose to make the change from the rear loading of the 3800 series. The P800's plastic exterior seems rather lightweight, but as long as it holds together, I will have no complaints.Print quality is superb, definitely superior to the 3880, but not dramatically so. After all, the 3880 is an excellent printer in its own rite. I use ImagePrint as my printing software, and it has all the paper profiles that I need. I highly recommend the combination of IP and the P800.In closing, let me say that I feel very fortunate to be able to make professional quality prints in my own home. It's a wonderful time to be a photographer. October 18, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by One fine printer In my mind this is one fine printer from Epson. Being able to print 17 inch wide panoramas is the reason I bought the unit. It replaces my old workhorse 3880. I actually kept the 3880 as it is still useful and runs great. Th P800 color is excellent. The ink usage is economical. The one thing I would like to see is the addition of a paper cutter option. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great printer but.... This printer does an excellent job right out of the box. If you use only Epson papers such as the glossy and matte and use standard paper sizes, the printers built in .icc profiles and controls are fine.My only reason for holding back on 5 star rating is the documentation (instructions) provided by epson.I had to experiment to find out which controlled the printing parameters when using photoshop or light room with third party papers. Does the printer or software determine paper size and paper type or do you have to set it on both the printer LED and in the software. More clear instructions from Epson would be helpful! Rated 5 out of 5 by Advanced Printer at a Great Price I upgraded from the R1900 to take advantage of the wider print capability and the larger ink capacity. The print quality is excellent right out of the box with the Epson profiles. I can't find any negatives about this printer. Essentially this is an upgraded R1900 with new inks and a wider print capacity. The price after the rebates was excellent considering the features the P-800 offers. October 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by SureColor P800 I have had this printer for only a few months, and I have not explored all its capabilities as far as handling larger prints and other media yet, but so far it has performed perfectly with smaller prints. It took me a little while to get used to what parts I had to open up,or not, since it is a little bit more involved than just slapping photographic paper into an All-in-One, but the prints are great!I look forward to trying some special papers and larger prints with it. Rated 5 out of 5 by Best printer in the business I have used Epson inkjet printers for the past 20 years and the 800 is the best one ever. October 8, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by great printer I bought this to print my artwork. So far it has delivered beautiful prints. I had some issues with only half the print printing from Corel Draw but somehow it's been resolved on its own. I usually print on the Epson fine art Bright Matte 17 x 22. October 7, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great, so far. I have been holding off buying a photograph printer due to costs, ink plugging ruining print heads; and, most of all, I didn't think the quality could compare to a light-jet print nor to a darkroom silver gelatin print. When the surecolor ink based printers came out promising less clogging problems and I saw the quality of some of the prints, I decided to take a chance and haven't been disappointed. On color photos, I believe the visual quality meets or exceeds prints from a light-jet printer, in fact, I recently sold a print that I had previously had printed many times before and it was the most attractive print I have ever made or have had made of that image.Black and white printing comes close to a darkroom print visually and of course, digital manipulation is a lot easier than analog printing. I'm not giving up my darkroom yet, but the Epson monochrome prints are visually appealing.Obviously, the jury is still out on print head plugging as I've only been using the p800 a month, but so far, so good October 7, 2016
