Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Set Up, Beautiful Prints, Performs The Job I was seeking a photo-lab quality printer to turn out 4x6 and 5x7 prints of favorite pictures from my digital photo albums. This printer does the job. Sharp pictures that print fairly quickly, easy paper loading, good setup instructions, easy to load ink, my first venture into Epson products and a positive one. I have printed on various surfaces and the ink is true to color and permanent. A reasonable price for photos that look like the came from Walgreens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not as user-friendly as its predecessor. Don’t get me wrong, this printer works just fine but it’s predecessors were so much easier to use and edit photos. Now you have to know before you select photos the size and layout you want which is not practical on SD cards with thousands of photos. If you make the mistake of selecting photos and change your mind about the layout, it will remove all of your selected photos and you have to go back and select them again-a real pain when it is 600 out of 1300 photos. Also, after printing, the photos remain selected requiring you to go beck through and unselect each photo. The only feature that is an improvement is WiFi and being able to print 5x7 but I don’t use the feature frequently enough to wish they had change the model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible printer! I have used previous versions of the Epson PictureMate. Print quality has always been good, but now it is superior! I especially like the ability to make both 4x6 and 5x7 prints. The speed is also impressive. Much faster than the older versions. I can print roughly 90 4X6 prints with one cartridge. That comes to about $.30 a print for a professional quality print. For the money, you cannot beat this printer! Just wish I could give this printer more than 5 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's nice - some changes I wish hadn't changed! Epson makes a great product. The change from a standard cord to hook up to a computer turned out to be a nightmare for me. Cords that actually fit the ports would not power the unit. It ended up only working with WiFi. The old charm units I could plug in and use anywhere. I love the printer but the set up was two and a half days that should have only taken 15 minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from not a real happy customer I have had three Epson PM 225 printers and was very happy with them. they are discontinued and Epson comes out with the PM 400. It prints fine BUT you can only ink and paper in Glossy. I am not a big fan of glossy paper. I did not realize this before I bought the printer. Not sure why they don't offer luster anymore. Calling Epson support is a waist of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great photo booth printer! I’ve had this for about 9 months and it’s perfect for our photo booth events! We print double strips on 4 by 6 paper and cut it in half for 2 separate strips. This is easily Portable, wireless and prints edge to edge perfectly and quickly! I do wish there was an option to adjust brightness. The pictures seemed to print slightly darker and not as crisp at our last event and darker brown skin tones appeared to have a slight gray tint. I haven’t noticed this previously. It wasn’t anything highly noticeable to others but since I see the photos print all the time I definitely noticed. Other than that, it’s been great!

I now use it at home too, it is so convenient, and the quality of the print is terrific. My adult kids and I sat around the table, me with my computer and them with their phones and between us we printed over 100 photos. They also loved the printer, it was so much fun. We all just absolutely love, love this printer, the kids can even borrow it, it is so portable. Great product.

It's in the mountains so there isn't anywhere convenient to go get photos printed. I looked at lots of options and am so glad I chose this printer. I love the 5x7 capability for larger photos and square (5x5) frames too. The quality of the prints is so good that a visiting friend bought one of the printers too!

My husband has Alz and I am printing photos and docs on my Epson Photo Lab to assist him in remembering family and friends. I love the wireless feature. I load my card onto the computer and then print to my photo printer leaving the prints I have selected stored. I selected this printer because it was in the top 10 of best printers and it wasn't many hundreds of dollars. I am so happy I got it. Love it love it!

It was truly plug and play with no issues and the WIFI connection was a breeze. Works with every device in our house: iPhones, iPads, iMacs and various cameras with WIFI. Perfect for those smaller prints in 4x6 and 5x7. I would recommend staying with the ultra premium glossy paper for best results; it's heavier and prints are spectacular.

Everything in my house is working with the wi-fi just fine but I decided to just connect it to my computer with a usb cable and now that is not working. I have only had my printer for 3 months. It is the holiday season and I can't print a thing!!!!

Not nearly as user friendly and it doesn’t allow for as much photo editing as my earlier models. The option to adjust brightness or contrast is gone from this “new” model and there are not as many photo layout options either with my favorite 3x3 option gone. Another annoying feature is when printing photos on half of the photo paper, it will only allow one photo per sheet. What a waste! As far as picture quality, my old Charm produced brighter, crisper images. So dissatisfied. I hope Epson does a better job with their next models or I will be looking elsewhere.

I haven't actually printed any photos yet--maybe I'll feel better after I have more experience with this device. I hope I can print photos from my phone with only one try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Problem downloading driver This is my 2nd picturemate purchase and enjoy the product except for downloading the driver. Everytime I download the driver it creates problems with my other Epson printers. The other problem I have with the printer is that I can't choose the size (5x7) or can't print borderless. I have tried everything, from uninstalling the printer and starting over numerous times without much luck. When I first purchased the product, it worked fine until I had to get a new computer with windows 10.

I selected this over the other small printers because or the picture size versatility and my personal experience with Epson printers. The setup was easy. We set up on a home network and did prints from an IPhone. The picture quality is surprisingly good. Clean and crisp colors. I am not a professional photographer and love the ease of use and fun result. Highly recommend. I do reviews because I rely on them.

The speed, quality and consistent performance is unbeatable. The WiFi Direct is a huge benefit on location for cameras and cell phones and my tablets. If lab quality photos is what you want, then lab quality results is exactly what you'll get with the handy portable, easy to use workhorse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from pm400 mistake We had a pm200 which worked great large screen for reviewing and editing your photos. It was great and why they ever did away with it was a dumb idea. People who buy and use these type of photo developers don't want all the computer garbage. The viewing screen is small this was a bad idea. Please bring back the pm 200 or something like it. I like Epson products but a pm400 is a big mistake.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a Keeper I just received my new PM400 Olympus Portable Printer. I followed instructions and it appears I have done everything correctly. I chose the PM400 to replace my Olympus PM290. I hadn't used it in quite awhile and when I decided to bring it out of the closet again I was having issues cleaning the printer head. Fortunately it works now and comparing it with the new PM400 I am getting excellent results with the color but the new PM400 has new advantages, such as, wireless and being able to download photos from my computer. Love the compact printers from Olympus. I hope they keep these items in the production each year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epson picturemate pm-400 (INK) The picture mate pm-400 is a wonderful printer, that prints 5 x 7 fast and has remarkable color. The only problem that I have found with this model is that none of the stores carry the ink for this product, which is a real disappointment. The only way to get the ink is to order it, so if you plan on getting this printer be sure to stock up on ink. Now the problem with that is that they say you should have ink that you are not using for a certain period of time, so if you bad more ink, it could go bad and if you don't buy extra ink you may run out when you need it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from sizing I bought this to print quickly and easily at home for a Project Life (daily) photo/scrapbook journal. It is wonderful to have photos at your fingertips in seconds. It was incredibly easy to set up and learn to use. The prints are slightly dark compared to what I set up in Photoshop Elements. The main thing I DO NOT LIKE is that the printer automatically expands every file by about 1/16 to 1/8 in on all sides. This causes that small edge to be cut off every print. I asked the tech support and they said this is to assure complete edge to edge printing. That is fine but, when I make a file in Photoshop, I want exactly what I set up. Instead, I have to shrink all my files around the edges to make sure they are sl smaller than 4 x6 in (the only size I print) so I will not have the edges cut off.

The set up for the printer is very easy and I can use it wirelessly which is really convenient. I have printed a handful of 4 x 6 photos and the quality is very nice. Overall, it is very user friendly, doesn't take up too much room, and produces nice photos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worst printer yet I received this for a Christmas present about two Christmases ago and didn't use it much until now as my original Picture Mate just died. I am only on my third ink package. This printer won't print wirelessly or directly attached to the computer at my son's home. After much frustration, I called support and she was no help at all. My wireless carrier at home has a tech support and he got it printing. Now again I am at my son's home and all it keeps doing is turning on and off. Thanks for no support and why did you have to change what was a very good product. I am truly disappointed in Epson for such a poor product. I sang your praises with the original Picture Mate and am personally responsible for at least two sales at that time. I can't recommend this product at all.

Would like to see a lighter/darker printing option available on previous models reintroduced. Would also like to see the ink cartridge available in retail stores. This model seems to do some self-cleaning regularly which enables the printer to produce consistently wonderful prints.

I had difficulty in getting the computer and printer to communicate with each other. Called Epson Tech Support, and received no help. They suggested I call Apple Care to see if there was a problem with my Apple Air Port router. Apple was extremely helpful, checked all my system, found no problem, and then actually helped me with windows. Deleting the print driver installed by Epson, and allowing windows to 'find and install' the printer solved the problem. Seems amazing that I had to have an Apple rep solve a Windows problem. Once configured, it works great and produces great photos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not quite what I expected I purchased this a few weeks ago, good printer, great pics, but one of my programs for printing pics will not let me or the printer will not let the program print 4 x 6 that are full page, both edges are about 1/2 inch borders. I like to use this program because if I do not put date on my pics on the camera, this program will add the date for me.

The robust design survived pressure changes of high-altitude flights without cartridge leaks, as well as sand, heat, and humidity, alternating with excessive air conditioning. It produced well-calibrated color from jpegs the first time, every time. I was able to print over 100 5x7's at one sitting, using less ink than I expected, despite "max quality" settings. I'd recommend this to anyone printing snapshots under difficult conditions.

It was easy to set up and the wireless connectivity eliminates one more wire from being attached to my desktop. The picture quality has been excellent. But I have never been able to get a 5 x 7 print to come out with the borders straight. They are always canted within the border. The 4 x 6 works fine. So I just print 4 x 6 and if I need a 5 x 7 use my big Epson printer. Finding the Ink is very difficult locally.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic I have had an Epson PM for 15 years. First the grey one, then the 225 and now the 400!! I’ve been wanting to upgrade to this one for quite some time, but my 225 kept on chugging until before Xmas and could not justify it. The PM400 is amazing and sooo easy to use!! Hook it up to your wifi and you’re ready to print from your phone! Only thing I would of liked to have seen in the box, is a couple sheets of 5x7...but that won’t lessen my review! 5stars +

We bought this one because we print 4X6s at parties and we don't have to carry a lot of equipment. We're frustrated with the PM-400 because it does not connect. Can you please bring back the PM300???

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great photo printer I had this printer since 2015. I like the fact that you can print 5x7 photos also, that’s the main reason why I bought it in the first place. But what I really like about this printer is that you can not use it for months on end, and the print heads never clogged on me. Overall a great printer.

It is easily transported and can be setup to print pictures pretty much anywhere I take pictures. I have used it for family gatherings, informal meetings and printed pictures for friends before they left. It is easy to use and produces great quality pictures.

It doesn't have a handle, like the Charm, but its compact size still makes it portable. I'm a scrapbooker, so I take my printer to crops and retreats. Love that I don't have to have a computer to print custom pictures. Vibrant color means beautiful, professional quality prints every time.

Being able to print photos straight from our phones is just wonderful, as well as being able to print from the computer. With so many pictures in digital format these days, we were worried that we wouldn't have any printed off in the future and would look back with regret. This printer is something we are going to really appreciate. The quality is plenty good. The printer is easy to use. I would highly recommend it and would buy it again.
