Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little scanner I bought this about 18 months ago. It's been on my desk and a godsent scanner! No more running out to the store to copy all what I need to copy. I plug it in my laptop and I scan. So much time gained! The copies are always great. It's very light, so if you need to move it, it is not a problem. It's also compact. It doesn't take much space on my desk. It always works like a charm. I should have gotten it a long time ago. I highly recommend this product.

You can scan documents in your car, library or in peoples homes [you don't need a power cord; comes with USB/phone charger cord]. For a writer on the go, like me, it's great for scanning documents and articles.

I hooked it up and it was exactly the same format as my old one. I did not have to learn anything new. The scan process is quicker, better optics, and quietier than the old one. The price was also great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ACTUALLY WORKED WHEN INSTALLED When installing be sure to install the software before connecting. This is per the instructions. As usual I was sloppy, plugged it in before installing software, expected action like with my previous V37, nothing doing. After software installation it came to life and seems to work as well as my V37 which crapped out after a few years. Registration did not work with software but was able to do it on-line by googling "V19 registration". Thank heaven for google.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple hookup and use I bought this scanner to scan so I can email docs. Who mails anything any more? This was a very easy setup and one button execution made it easy to use. Only thing it doesn’t appear to have that I would have liked is the ability to scan multiple document pages into one pdf. I had to send my tax preparer an email with 6 individual files for one tax form.

It's lightweight, easy to use, and I only need to connect it to the computer: no plugs necessary. There have been a few times when an error message has popped up, but all I needed to do was hit the scan button again, and it worked. No problem!!

Okay software I got this scanner for a christmas present after wanting it for months (scanner/printers are a nightmare since you can't scan if you're out of ink, but thats another story) and I have very little to complain about! It's lightweight, scans decently quickly, brings up good results, and it doesn't need a wall plug which is ALWAYS a bonus. /BUT/ the software than comes with it hasn't changed much since I had a similar program 5-10 years ago. It runs a little jumpy, and for the auto-scan you have to re-open the program after every individual picture, which is really irritating after the 10th picture. Still, it does just what I wanted it to do, and I would recommend it :)

I figured epson is a good brand to go with and saw 4 star reviews, however my experience has been nothing short of frustrating. Installed/Uninstalled software and updates, plugged/unplugged USB, even restarted my computer. It decides to work when it wants. I want to love it, but seems as though I wasted my money. Only been able to scan in a few things.

I don't like the way it stands as it's awkward and it is not user friendly. Not having a manual to go by is frustrating. I don't like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm a 71 year old youngster and had no problem setting up I just bought this so don't know how it will hold up but I was able to have it set up and scanned my first item within 1 hour. So far seems to be very easy to use. I am going to set it up on my laptop also so that I can take it with me when traveling, it will fit in a case with my laptop so the size is very nice.

It does everything I needed to do and has a couple other features that I was not expecting but I found very helpful. The only caveat is that there is no on-off switch sense it plugs into a USB port. That was an easy fix by purchasing an inline on off USB switch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Good Scanner But Not The Most Intuitive I purchased this scanner to replace an older Canon scanner that was no longer compatible with my Windows 10 system. The scanner has performed well, however, I do not believe that it is as easy to use as my old Canon scanner. My old Canon scanner had a Toolbox that easily allowed the operator to choose between copy, scan and save, and PDF functions. This scanner has similar capabilities, but the means of accessing the functions is not as intuitive as my old scanner. Additionally, I find that using the buttons on the scanner, rather than the application, appears to take much more time to activate that I would have imagined. Overall, this is a reliable scanner that is slower and less intuitive than my old scanner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It! Thank you Epson for making a scanner that keeps in step with OS platforms like Windows 10. That's a deal breaker for me with other makes. Set up an running in a matter of minutes. Scans as fast as any other flat bed I've used. Fit and finish are very good for a low end product. Scans are nice and crisp and is supports direct to PDF. I only wish it had a lock for the lid to make transporting the unit easier. Other than that, it's everything I hoped for and for the money you can't go wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The scanner is....eh, okay. I guess. It was purchased for small office use. I'm the only one that uses it. For business, it's amazingly slow, but for home use, I think it would be a decent scanner to own. Runs off of USB port power, so only 1 wire to hide, it's a flat as a laptop, has a built in stand to sit it upright saving desk space, and provides decent resolution. I haven't scanned any pictures or photos though, so I can't comment on that. Other than that, the scanner is....eh, okay. I guess.

It has worked flawlessly, and to date has scanned copies of over 1,500 photos to share with family members. I have been using Epson products from the late 90's, and have been pleased with final results, but not always with hiccups along the way (driver issues, etc.). Still a loyal consumer. Wish they would make an affordable tpu scanner with a bigger scan size than 6cm by 22cm!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good home scanner I have a few thousand pictures and this scanner is providing me with higher than expected results. There are a few things for which I would junk this scanner in a jiffy if it wasn't cheap enough to buy. The Auto Enhance feature is mostly junk. The other features you can use are Brightness and color saturation. The cropping feature is fine but I can't do a slight "rotation" to straighten a picture. I use Window's picture editor to do that. I can write-off the spot fix. I think it's a waste. I will use the windows picture editor to do any spot fixing which is not great but better. If you have a eye like an eagle and consider yourself better than average when it comes to pictures manipulation then do not go for this scanner, this is not professional grade. But if you are an average Joe/Jane and multitude of pictures to scan then this scanner will return your investment ten times over. This printer is also rated at CNET so look up that review also. What they talk about, as far as negative points, I agree with. Overall, on auto scan, I am pleasantly happy with the results I am getting. My negative comments affect much less then about 10% of the pictures that I need to tweak and find this application needing improvement. What this scanner is delivering for me was unaffordable not too long ago. I have had this scanner for about 30 days now and I have gone through about 700 pictures. I was hoping to get to this project for the last 7 years. Am I happy that I got this scanner? Absolutely!

I even tried to download the software form the internet. It would unzip the file and then shut down. I finally got the software downloaded only to plug the scanner into my computer, and it does absolutely nothing. It doesn't turn on, it certainly doesn't scan, nothing. This will be going back tomorrow!

It is limited in that sense but if you just want the simplest things done and you want the use of the scanner wherever you are (it only requires a connection to your computer to operate), then this is the scanner for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good home scanner I've used my new scanner only a few times but am well satisfied. Installing the software on my desktop iMac took a couple tries. I recommend having the "professional" menu setting as your default if you do anything besides letter-size grayscale, and using the "preview" function to make sure you're getting the area you want. I had put off getting a scanner, but I do a lot of work at home for a nonprofit museum, and the V19 fits easily in my limited space. It's light and easily portable, getting power via USB, and so can be used anywhere a laptop is available.

I really like the fact that it gets power through the computer than through a 110v outlet! Note: When I downloaded the Adobe software, it seemed to cause a problem with my Adobe Photoshop which I finally had to reload.

It's not perfect but does a reasonably good JOB. i am using it full automatic and it has black & whited a couple of color images and to be sure you get the entire photo leave a half inch or so border when you place your picture on the scanning glass. More space might be better. I had some badly faded photos and the "Color restore" is fantastic. If you are one a budget, this is the one.

Did more than 40,000 images in 7 years and most of them were scanned on a Epson Scanner. The scanners never died. Thanks Epson

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warning for Windows 10 users Could not get this printer to work with Windows 10. I'm sure there is a patch or workaround, but I'm not that good with computer stuff. So the printer is back in it's box and stuck in a corner somewhere. It might be a great scanner. I don't know.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You Can't Beat This Deal The Epson V-19 Scanner is light weight, easy to install and scans fast. The installation disc also includes some really nice photo editing features. And you need not even leave the unit plugged into a USB port and powered up all the time. And there is no necessity of having to deal with software NOT on the disc, like Twain Drivers and such, which are a necessity with SOME scanners ! Once you have installed the disc, you can just plug it into a USB port whenever you want to use it and it is up and working in hardly any time at all. The cover is adjustable, so you can raise it up to accommodate scanning an open book or magazine. I am very pleased with my purchase at a really great price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So-So My biggest complaint is in naming the file. I don't like the automatic and insistence on having number registration on the file name. That should be my choice. Also the difficulty in choosing which folder to save the file in. I am sorry I bought this scanner now. It doesn't even come close to the flexibility or customization features I had with the Canon products I have owned in the past.

It is very reliable, not as fast as our high-speed scanner which is part of our high speed copier, but for a desktop model it is sufficient. The software operation is simple, easy to understand, and the versatility of saving files to many different file types is very useful. It is also nice that it operates using the power of the pc, it saves the hassle of more wires in the workspace. It is also slim and doesn't take up much more room than the size of the paper itself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! This newly released model is fantastic in so many ways. It seems like it is the most compact it could be with today's technology. Only one USB cord connects at the back of the device. Scanning is definitely not noisy. The screen interface is extremely easy to use for photo scanning. When using the Color Restoration setting, the scanned quality of old paper-like color photographs makes them look almost like modern photos. I'm not a professional at this, but I know when I look at my old photos compared to the scanned images, I'm simply amazed. Installation was very easy. I used the provided CD, then I plugged the USD cord into my laptop and that was it! To scan you do not need to touch any button on the device. Just make sure your settings are the way you want them on the screen interface and click the Scan button on the screen. There are settings for scan resolution, dust removal, color restoration, auto photo orientation, image type (.jpg, .bmp, .tif, .pdf), file location, what action to take once scan is complete, and more. I'm pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from V19 Love it. Very small. It gets its power thru the USB port. No power cord. I don't like the all-in-one types of copier-scanners, so its right for me. I also have the very large Epson 11000XL for high- res artwork. But this sits right next to me, so I can use it for quick scans of paper work and quick art scans. And how do u beat the price?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great portable scanner It runs solely off any USB port, so no A/C transformer or bulky cords. It is surprisingly fast, scanning a page and returning to scan the next page in about 10 seconds. Also, it only weighs about a pound, so traveling is no problem as long as it is in a case of some sort. The only problem I had was in understanding the Setup of where scanned images would be stored and setting a default resolution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use Right out of the box this scanner proved to be a good choice. The controls are easy to understand and there are a great number of ways the scans can be done. The quickness of the scan is amazing. One slight downside to it; when in operation the scanner is a bit noisy. I'm not sure if higher end models would be any different but for the price, it's a "fault" I can live with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works - but not the software that comes with it I bought this scanner about 6 weeks ago to replace my old 10+ yr old Epson scanner that had finally died. I do like that it runs on USB power (no power adapter) and it scans pretty fast for higher resolutions scans. However, the scanning software that came with is and/or is available on Epson's website does NOT work on Windows 7 (64-bit) - only the device driver works. So to scan and fax I have to use the built-in Windows Fax and Scan application, which sucks. Disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from V19 Scanner The big plus with this scanner is that there is no power adapter. A usb cable is all that is necessary. Another plus is that it is light...you can place it on your lap and scan. The scanning is adequate for documents...I haven't tried photos etc yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Updated review This is a good, lightweight scanner that's perfect for light work such as scanning photos and magazine articles to your laptop or PC. It's not meant for complex art projects or other, more in-depth work. Bear in mind too, that this is somewhat delicate machine. I've done almost 4,000 scans since buying it, but I always use the desktop icon to start the process, never the button on the front of the machine. Since it won't tolerate any physical abuse, I bought a carry case just for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great little scanner For the money, I do not think it can be beat. The automatic scan is perfect, and you can even change the resolution in that. And if you want to get fancy, there are those options as well. And it is powered by USB only, which saves on confusion with electrical outlets. I have a scanner/printer, but this one is just so much easier to use!

I discovered a bug in the V19 scanner software, in that while in the 'Full Auto Mode' (all other modes works just fine), the scanner will pause waiting for the user to physically move the curser in its window then it will proceed to the task of detecting document or scanning. I called tech support and directed me to download another software scanner and that seems to work ok. so far its working great!
