Product Reviews
Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 7reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by A little disappointed, wait and see. I purchased the Eaton 5PX (with NIC card plus Expansion Module) over other brands (convinced the boss to spend more money) because of the great reputation of Eaton. When going to plug in the battery connector module (on front of unit) the red/black wires coming from the right (when facing unit from front, unit laying horizontal) were twisted so that the red was on top, black on bottom. This made it so that, if you were not paying attention, you would have plugged into the other end Red-Black, Black-Red. I had to torque on the connector pretty good to twist it right side up as the space where the wires goes the unit would not allow for the wires to move. It seems okay, but there is a little bit of tension where the wires go into the connector now.I thought about taking the unit apart to adjust and relieve that tension but decided not too.Huge deal? I don't know. But it sort of smarts just the same.I would have expected more. November 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This Eaton UPS was very easy to setup and configure. It is easily able to power my whole server infrastructure. I am very glad we purchased it. September 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent UPS for network equipment and/or small server rooms. Nice design, easy to set up and install. We have 5-10 of the 5PX UPSs and they are solid performers, not one problem in over 2 years. June 6, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Added a third to our environment to protect our phone system (4 switches, 1 controller, 1 server). Still my favorite UPS of all time. Management config could be a little easier, but otherwise it's dependable and informative. March 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Working flawlessly in our head office. one of our tech telling that this is the best ups in his career. June 2, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wow it is very good and stable ups as we are using 2 in our office. Never give any problem. running smoothly June 2, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by I have been using the Eaton 5PX 2200 for two weeks in production. Attached to it are a Juniper EX2200 24 port switch (top-of-rack switch), a Dell R515 server with 6 SATA 250GB hard drives (source control server), a Dell R310 server with 2 SATA 250GB hard drives (VPN server), and one half of a set of redundant power supplies in a Dell MD3220 DAS array.Currently, the load on the UPS is at 21% with the above listed devices powered on and running. I can tell because the fantastic Eaton management interface tells me so. I can look at the (impressive) front LCD or the web-based management interface. One particular feature of the web interface that I never even realized that I was missing until I had it is the Measurements area. This is under the Logs and Notifications and tells me everything I need to know about the current run-state of the UPS. Measurements include Voltage, Frequency, and Load Level on the AC output, and battery capacity and run time.Typical features include the ability to email alerts and logs to multiple addresses, control power groups (2 groups on this particular UPS), and set schedules. I can also set shutdown parameters, meaning that I can define what the different power groups will do in response to certain battery/run-time conditions. For example, I can select for power group 1 to shut down if battery capacity falls under 5% and then restart after 120 seconds. So far, I have been unable to find a fault with this UPS. Maybe I need to kick it or take a hammer to it. Or maybe Eaton has built a superior UPS. May 3, 2011
