Creating a made-to-order monitoring system with Watchport can preempt damage to equipment and facilities and also reduce costly system downtime and maintenance
The Watchport/D (D for distance) works much like the Watchport/P proximity sensor. In fact, it may be used just like a proximity sensor to report when an object is within a certain distance of the sensor. This can be useful to trigger behavior (starting up an application when a customer comes near, etc.) that is appropriate for the object (say a customer). The Watchport/D, however, may also be used to report the actual distance an object is from the sensor. The distance is reported in centimeters, from 20 to 150 centimeters.
