N/A Today, customers receive technical support by phone, e-mail, chat and pre-installed remote support clients—often resulting in a cumbersome, time consuming and frustrating experience. With customer satisfaction a key business driver for IT departments, employing user-friendly tools is critical to enhancing customer service, improving resolution times and minimizing costs.

SonicWALL® Virtual Assist is a clientless remote support tool that enables a technician to assume control of a customer’s PC or laptop for the purpose of providing remote technical assistance. With the customer’s permission, the technician can gain instant access to the
computer using a Web browser, making it easy to diagnose and fix a problem remotely without the need for a pre-installed “fat” client.

Features
* Anywhere, anytime remote support improves
customer satisfaction and support staff productivity.
* Clientless connectivity eliminates the need to download and pre-install a “fat” client, minimizing customer frustration and set-up overhead. In addition, the “thin” client greatly reduces on-site travel expenses and equipment cross-shipping costs.
* Chat functionality provides an effi cient communication
alternative to costly phone support.
* File transfer capability provides fast, convenient and
secure access to local and remote files.
* Tight integration with existing LDAP, AD, NT Domain, RADIUS, RSA or Vasco infrastructure ensures that the customers’ identities are confirmed. Alternatively, the local database of the SSL VPN appliance and tokenless two-factor authentication can be utilized.
* Personalized customer Web portal enhances the user experience by providing a familiar look and feel. * Technician Web portal facilitates the management and scheduling of the support queue.
* Integration with SSL VPN administrative interface
enables the IT administrator to easily license and
configure the module.*
* 256-bit AES SSL encryption of the data by the SSL VPN appliance provides a secure environment for the data and assists in the effort to be compliant with regulations like Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA.
* Seamless integration of the SSL VPN appliance behind any firewall enables organizations to leverage their existing network infrastructure.

Deployment Scenarios
Trusted outside IT consultants can remotely support any application on their client’s desktops and laptops
- Reduce the number of on-site visits and associated expenditures
- Improve time-to-resolution and staff productivity levels

Internal IT help desks of mid- to large-sized companies can assist on-site as well as remote workers
- Improve time-to-resolution and IT staff productivity when assisting on-site workers
- Minimize shipping expenses on cross-ship of equipment and phone costs when supporting remote workers

Call center technicians can provide assistance to customers across the globe
- Decrease call times and increase first call resolution rates, resulting in higher return on investment
- Improve customer satisfaction by meeting or exceeding service level agreement (SLA) objectives

Product Reviews
SonicWALL Virtual Assist - license is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Review about Dell SonicWALL TZ Valuable Features:Easy to use GUIVPN (Site-to-Site and Client-to-Site)Gateway SecurityBuilt in A/V optionsContent FilteringImprovements to My Organization:The site-to-site VPN allows for consistent communication between sites.Upgrading the OS is easy and they alert you when an upgrade is available.Content filtering and gateway security has help reduce visiting unwanted websites and attacks.Logging helps track down issues bandwidth hogs.Room for Improvement:I would love to see a more detailed logs and filtering.Wireless versions have week signal strength in comparison to other wireless routers.Use of Solution:5 yearsStability Issues:Absolutely no issues with stability. I try to reboot them every 6 months to a year for good measure, but not because I have to.Scalability Issues:Most of the TZ series are for small to mid size office. I would not recommend these for large to enterprise solutions. I do use one currently for a small community school of 250 students with no issues.Customer Service:I have not worked with their customer service.Technical Support:Excellent customer service. Very knowledgeable.Previous Solutions:This has been a great solution and have never bothered trying anything else. I do have a few Cisco ASA installs, however the cost is a bit higher and more complex to implement.Initial Setup:Setup is quite straight forward. There are some deeper more complex setups that can be implemented. These more complex setups can be achieved through their support or a quick google search.Implementation Team:I personally implemented the solution.ROI:I like to think that the TZ series has the best bang for the buck. Full of features and options that you need to control security with out breaking the bank. Perfect solution for smaller businesses.Cost and Licensing Advice:Sonic Wall has an a la carte pricing model. There are many features and options that you may not need or want and therefore no need to pay for themThe only problem with this model is that it does now use a yearly subscription model. Although the router itself may be less expensive than other competitors, you may spend more in subscriptions.Product support will require a yearly maintenance.Other Solutions Considered:I only work with SonicWALL TZ and Cisco ASA.Other Advice:Sonic Wall OS is very easy to use but still has all the options and features you need to implement your security.Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Its easier to deploy and configure than other options, but the GUI configurations and menus are not intuitive. Valuable Features:The affordability.Improvements to My Organization:It's provided security and a VPN connection.Room for Improvement:GUI configurations and menus are not intuitive, thus making it difficult to identify dependent configurations completion.Use of Solution:I've used it for two years.Deployment Issues:In most cases no issues, except a few times when the External Interface would not take a public dynamic IP address.Stability Issues:There were some issues, when the firewall would work for six months straight, and then cause VPN slowness, which was resolved right after a reboot. Not many companies allow themselves to have such downtime.Scalability Issues:No issues encountered.Customer Service:Service is great.Technical Support:Service is great.Previous Solutions:We previously used a mix of WatchGuard and Cisco firewalls. We switched because Dell offered an affordable, stable, flexible option that is easier to deploy and configure.Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.
