Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Router I have had this router two days. It was easy to install and all of the components connected to it are working fine. I did call Customer Service and my issue was resolved quickly and to my satisfaction(# C6643719- ID# AR004212). March 19, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Basic, Entry-Level Consumer Home Router Its been over 12 years since I have owned a DLink product. I have been looking for a basic dual-band access point and when I saw this for a song at Sams Club, I thought why not give it a whirl. Im not sure if I am going to keep it or not yet.Pros:+Low cost+Free DDNS service through Dyn+Small footprint+Simple setup+Entry level AC speedsCons:-Range is mediocre, particularly at 5ghz (According to the wireless status page, clients at 2.4 Ghz get 135M transfer rates at 65-75% signal, while 5 Ghz clients are at 13-65M and 100% signal at 20-25 feet). No 5 Ghz signal 50 ft away in the street (I know 5 Ghz has poorer propagation, but my old worked out there)-Built in switch is only 10/100 (not gigabit, must buy higher model)-The webpage seems to reboot with every configuration change.-Only one SSID+Guest-No steering of capable clients to the 5 Ghz network, must keep two separate SSID's to manage which radio clients attach to (not normally found on consumer units anyway)The unit is hanging off the Linksys as a dumb access point, it works, but I havent made up my mind yet if it will remain a fixture here or go back to the store. If your (grand)parents need something to hook their AppleTV/Roku/etc up to for 5 Ghz video and 2 Ghz browsing somewhere that doesnt have a high density of existing 2 Ghz traffic, this is probably a decent choice.
