Product Reviews
D-Link DCS 5020L Wireless N Day & Night Pan/Tilt Cloud Camera - network sur is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Day/Night Mess Click, click click then dumps from network. I have had this camera for a year now. I have been extremely patient. I have tried all the new firmware versions many times each. No joy. Firmware v103 at least reconnects to the network several times before it looses connection 100% and you have to unplug and plug the power back in. The other versions just disconnect and stay off the network after several clicks. I have a DCS-930L, DCS-932L, DCS-942L and the DCS-5020L. I would rate the others 4 stars. The 5020L has been total junk ! ! !

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Requires use of JAVA Deployment Toolkit which = Security issue Software is poorly written with bad English, and inconsistencies in the on-screen instructions. The worst part is the required use of JAVA deployment toolkit which opens your PC up to hacking, despite the use of internet security software. The camera itself is OK, but the software required to run it needs to be rewritten so that it does not rely on JAVA deployment toolkit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Bad Bad, no support for a major problem I have two of these cameras for 3 weeks. Since then I have a major problem with all other WiFi devices in my house. They constantly loosing the IP address so every day I have to restart or my router or my computers. None of these problems existed before I installed the cameras. At the end I had to return them for a full refund. Best of all there is nothing at the d-link web site that addresses this problem.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Three Cameras in use nearly one year--Mainly as "Toys" I am quite satisfied, although I have had some problems. I do not use these cameras for serious purposes. I keep an eye on my beach property when at home, and my home property when at the beach. Nothing critical....Thus, my basic satisfaction despite the problems.First, let me say that I believe that if you take the time and make the effort to become familiar with setup and operation, you will find that they are easy to set up and operate. The interface is comprehensive and intuitive, but the devil is in the details. Me personally--I have had no problems. All three cameras are operating outdoors and have seen temperatures from the teens to over 100º F. So far okay. Resolution and controls, etc. satisfy my needs. One is mounted at home under my porch that protects it from the weather. The other two are mounted in plastic domed housings that I found on the internet, and mounted under the eaves at opposite corners of the beach house. Reflections in the plastic domes render the IR LED's useless (same for window panes), but that's okay for my requirements.I have experienced two problems. First, I have seen the focus problem caused by the lens mounting rotating. I refocused the cameras and applied a tiny dab of silicon adhesive, which solved that problem.Second, I lost the color on one camera (problem started before I even mounted it outdoors, so it's not an environment issue). It is like for daylight operation, the LED's turn off, but the IR filtering does not revert to daylight mode. Thus, the image in the daylight is color-washed-out, and high IR content things like foliage look like snow.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Won't stay in focus I've had this camera for about 5 months now. I am constantly having to manually refocus it. It is mounted on the wall just below the ceiling, so no one is touching it and causing it to lose focus. If it were not for this issue this would be an excellent camera, however I cannot recommend it because of the problems with the focus. What good is having a camera for remote surveillance if it goes out of focus all the time and you can't adjust it remotely?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best ! I don't understand some of the negative reviews here.It works as advertised with my iPhone 6 and MacMaybe those reviewers need a faster internet/ upgraded router. We use it mostly to monitor our disabled mother when she is alone, as well as security at several locations.Keep up the good work Dlink!
