Product Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by Serves It's Purpose The wireless extender serves its purpose and does well with transferring 2ghz wireless. Does not work with 5ghz. The amplified signal is strong and does well with switching from WAP to Extender. Biggest complaint is memory gets full quickly, needs reboot (unplug/replug) at least once a week to maintain strength. All in all it is not bad, feel there are probably better products in this price range to do the job and would work with 5ghz. Rated 3 out of 5 by Works fine BUT I had initial setup problem - mac address listed on the box was not the mac that extender was using to connect to wireless WAP. Once the open WAP I was able to get correct mac and connect to network.Everything was working for months with firmware 1.11.I saw newer firmware 1.20, but it was not working - unit would shutdown or lose connection quickly.Firmware 1.21 didn't solve the problem. I am 2 weeks away from end of warranty and downgraded unit to firmware 1.11. So far it is working better than before. If the unit goes down, I will have to get replacement.I only use extender during winter as the rest of the year DAP-2310 is good enough to work 50 yards away. Rated 2 out of 5 by flop of a product I had the extender and it work perfect for the first 3-4 months. All of a sudden I was unable to connect to Wi-Fi. I would enter the password several times and it was just "searching" then one day it said the password was invalid. I have tried over 100 times to reset it and it refuses to work. It is def. not worth the $40 that I got suckered in to paying for it. November 25, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Unreliable - requires daily restart I was very excited when I first set this up as it worked very well. The configuration was easy, even for non-WPS - there's a web-based control panel where you basically just connect it to your existing wireless network like you would any other device.[I note there are a lot of people complaining about difficulties getting it working - I suspect these people are just confused by having to connect to the device via a browser first. Technical people should have no issues.]Unfortunately when I went to use it the next day, I could no longer connect to it at all - my device (Android Nexus 4) would try to connect but simply fail with no errors.A reboot of the DAP-1320 and it started working again.I came here and noticed there was new firmware, so I updated the firmware (not without hassles - first, it's not clear that the admin password in the web interface is just blank, and second the web interface seemed to randomly stop working, so it took several attempts). The firmware update unfortunately had the same issue - I was able to connect fine and it worked immediately after the firmware update & subsequent reboot. The next morning I was excited because it actually let me connect to the AP properly - but nothing would load after that point, so it seems the problem has just been transferred down stream a little bit.[For any D-link staff reading this: I am happy to try to debug/diagnose this or try beta firmwares. This seems like it should be a simple issue to fix unless there's a crippling hardware fault. Feel free to get in touch. ] September 27, 2014

Rated 1 out of 5 by Useless Device becomes inactive every 4-5 hours. Needs to manually restart. July 26, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by This Product Does Not Work As Described Notwithstanding the fairly simple set-up, this product does not actually extend the wireless range. If I leave my blackberry on the kitchen countertop approximately 8 to 10 feet from where the Dlink range extender is plugged in, I consistently get a message on my blackberry telling me the wireless connection is very limited. In addition, my iphone and ipad keep cutting in and out of the WiFi connection to Dlink. When I moved this product outside to the backyard to try and listen to wireless speakers and streaming music, the music kept cutting in and out because the WiFi was not working consistently outside despite the range extender being out there! What a waste of money! July 7, 2014
