Rated 4 out of 5 by from We upgraded from a previous version of XenMobile as we had a significant investment in the Citrix stack already. Valuable Features:The main features that I felt were valuable to our organization were:* Ability to manage iOS and Android mobile devices.* Application white/black listing.* Comprehensive rule based policies with relative parity between platforms.Improvements to My Organization:In this case it was an upgrade from XenMobile 8.6 so it was an upgrade to maintain support from the vendor. The main areas of improvement would be around reporting and integration with ShareFile and access to the Worx suite of mobile applications (WorxMail, WorxWeb, WorxNotes).Room for Improvement:Even with professional services, deployment can be a challenge; especially when integrating with Exchange when rolling out WorxMail (as an alternative over the native mail clients to containerize and restrict access content). Support is also an area that we struggled with; inconsistent quality between support analysts.Use of Solution:I have used XenMobile for a little over 2 years.Deployment Issues:We did encounter deployment issues. Integration with the NetScaler appliances and ShareFile were two of them but one of the biggest issues was around the wrapping of the Worx apps. As the Worx applications were updated, the wrapping tools would periodically also require updates but the releases were sometimes out of sync. Support also was limited with application wrapping. It would have been nice if Citrix Support would have dedicated more staff training for the Worx apps, the wrapping of them and how they are deployed.Stability Issues:XenMobile v9 was relatively stable once it was up and running. After Citrix professional services left the site, we spent another couple of months tweaking and testing before we were willing to migrate our devices to the new environment.Scalability Issues:We did not encounter any scalability issues.Customer Service:When you are dealing with the pre-sales teams and the professional services teams, they are really good. Our experience was that typically, if they didn’t know the answer to something, they had access to resources that could bring you closer to a resolution.Technical Support:This is one area that concerned me with Citrix. I know that during our deployment, Citrix was making some changes internally and it’s possible that we just got caught in that change. But over the two years that I had access to Enterprise support, it was touch and go getting access to a quality engineer who knew how to actually resolve an issue rather than read it out of a prepared script. We always tried make our calls early in the day when we knew we would get access to support either in North America or UK/Germany/Ireland; otherwise it was always a game of phone tag when dealing with some of the other global call centres.Previous Solutions:We did not use a previous solution. We upgraded from a previous version of XenMobile as we had a significant investment in the Citrix stack already.Initial Setup:Initial setup was complex. We had integration into ShareFile, AppController (for the Mobile Application Management -MAM), NetScalers and then we tried to deploy the mobile apps at the same time, so we could get away from ActiveSync. I felt that the complexity simply increased with the addition of integration points. Even our professional services team had difficulties at times as the products are complex on their own, much less when you are trying to get them to work together. I would recommend phasing the deployments, if your schedule permits. Start with getting XenMobile and the AppController up and running first, wrap and deploy the Worx apps and then worry about ShareFile later in the project. The secondary concern is for the end user, because it’s a lot of change to to cope with if there is a "Big Bang" approach.Implementation Team:We used Citrix’s professional services for the engagement. While they were very easy to deal with and tried to accommodate our design, I think they were still new to their roles.Cost and Licensing Advice:Sit down and seriously review your mobility strategy. If you don’t have one, draft something before you get started. Consider where you feel your organization is going to be in the next 2 to 5 years. I would consider an mobile device management (MDM) solution to have a lifespan of about 3 years as they have to adapt to a series of vendors (Apple, Google, Samsung, etc.) that move a lot faster than they do.Determine what features you are planning to roll out to your users over this timeframe (i.e. access to internal documentation [ShareFile], access to Internet sites [WorxWeb], etc.) as Citrix has a variety of options that can affect which licenses you will need and where you can save money. If you have an existing Citrix investment, look at the Enterprise licensing as you get quite a bit extra,(such as ShareFile for free).Other Solutions Considered:We did not evaluate alternatives due to our existing Citrix investment, so we opted to stay with Citrix.Other Advice:XenMobile is a good, stable product, but make sure you investigate what features you are looking to roll out and decide whether XenMobile isn’t overkill. Depending on what want to deploy, you may need to examine your resource requirements to not just deploy, but support as well. Training isn’t cheap for any Citrix course but XenMobile from an administration perspective, is pretty simple to learn.Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Valuable Features:Centralized management for the IOS and Android platform device. It can easily push the policy and application based on each departments needs.Improvements to My Organization:Most of the company are concern about information security. Some of the company devices have been stolen or lost. Using the ZDM, the administrators are able to control the device remotely and send us remote wipe command instantly. It also detects if the device has been jalibroken and rooted and to do necessary actions based on the policy.BYOD is the new player in this arena, and most companies are trying to allowing it. And ZDM can easily manage it to secure the important information of the device. It can also wipe on the Application that been installed from the ZDM console.Room for Improvement:Out of the box template policy.Use of Solution:2 years.Deployment Issues:No.Stability Issues:No.Scalability Issues:No.Previous Solutions:We evaluated some of the MDM products like Good technology, mobile iron and airwatch. Most of the product have the same MDM function but ZDM is much simpler to manage in terms of administration.Initial Setup:The ZDM setup is quite straightforward. The Zenprise management system is seated in the internal network and we also use the Zenprise SMG (secure mobile gateway) to communicate the device through internet. It is the same setup as the other MDM product, but the Zenprise SMG gives a security feature to control which device is able to communicate to our Email services.Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ​Gave the company the option to implement BYOD for mobile phones, but The MTC was very finicky. Valuable Features:* Ease of deployment to end users.* Profile deployment to setup email, wifi etc.* Secure Mail Gateway was very useful for companies trying to control who accessed their email.Improvements to My Organization:Gave the company the option to implement BYOD for mobile phones. Also helped with companies who were providing phones the capabilities to easily deploy a phone as well as to securely delete the data if the phone went missing or policies were being broken.Room for Improvement:* The Multi-Tenant component (MTC) was very finicky to get up and running and upgrades was hit and miss. If you were dealing with a single site it was fairly straight forward as long as you rebooted the system before doing any significant changes like upgrades or certificate changes.* With Citrix taking over, the XenMobile name is a bundling of other products (ShareFile/XenMobile Apps, NetScaller, etc) which makes this a very difficult setup in a single environment and impossible to deploy a full "XenMobile" experience as a Manage Services offering.Use of Solution:2.5 years. Basically from 2012 to mid 2014.Deployment Issues:As a MTC it was a problem to get up and running initially. It also had a lot of problems with certificates but again it came to being very selective on the trusted root authority.Single deployment has generally been fine.Stability Issues:The MTC It had undocumented memory requirements so even though we had enough memory for the number of devices, the number of tenants meant we had regular crashes until that was fully realised by their support.Scalability Issues:No.Technical Support:Technical support was good.Previous Solutions:Didn't use any other product.Initial Setup:MTC is complicated as it required a top level service to manage the tenants and that was difficult to get running.Single tenant (in-house) was easy.Implementation Team:In-house with technical support.ROI:As I said we sold this product as a manage service offering. I'm not sure on the companies return on investment.Cost and Licensing Advice:Unknown setup cost but we spent a lot of hours getting it running.Other Solutions Considered:Back in 2012 we compared this to Sophos offering (hands on). On paper we compared this product to Mobile Iron.Other Advice:I still think XenMobile MDM is a leading solution for Mobile Device Management but its bundling with the other XenMobile Apps and NetScaller makes it very difficult to implement. You (as a solution provider) need to be a Citrix house to get to the right resources. If you are looking to implement MDM just understand the full solution from Citrix is expensive and complicated. However the basic MDM with Secure Mail Gateway is not nearly as difficult and still provides features that other MDM providers don't.Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Provides us with faster communication, but Securing ActiveSync without using a Netscaler would be an improvement. Valuable Features:Receiving corporate email, contacts, and calendar. The ability to lock down and secure the device, and the ability to support iOS, Android, and Windows Phone.Improvements to My Organization:This product provides our organization with faster communication with the ability to answer emails from a mobile device rather than having to access Outlook on a laptop or desktop.Room for Improvement:Securing ActiveSync without using a Netscaler.Use of Solution:2 years and 6 months.Deployment Issues:There have not been any issues with deploying this solution. However we have encountered when a user restores an iOS device either for a new iPhone or existing, the XenMobile profiles have to be deleted and the phone has to be setup again using Worx Home.Stability Issues:We have not encountered any issues with stability. But we have seen battery life is slightly drained faster.Scalability Issues:We have not encountered any issues with scalability.Customer Service:10/10.Technical Support:10/10.Previous Solutions:No.Initial Setup:The initial setup has always been very straightforward and easy to install updates.Implementation Team:We did the implementation in-house.ROI:For BYOD we charged users $50.00 to counter the price of the product and license cost. Also faster communication has added to ROI.Cost and Licensing Advice:The original setup cost was $1,800.00 plus a new license every year. Day-to-day costs include offsite server and storage.Other Solutions Considered:Yes, we did evaluate other options based off of Gartner reports and off of managements previous used products.Other Advice:Test, test, test and understand how iOS and Android work at an operating system level. Also create good documentation with screenshots to help the users enroll themselves, empower the users.Disclaimer: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer:Yes, we also use Citrix desktop mainly for our ERP system (AX 2009).
