Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good I am probably considered and advanced amateur photographer. Most of my photography is ‘tourist’ photography and occasionally I try to do some more serious work. So my light conditions range from dim museums to harsh daylight. Since a lot of my photography is outdoors, I wanted a flash that would soften the harsh daylight. So far the Speedlite 430EX III-RT has done extremely well. I have not had any issues with it overheating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! This is a really great Speedlight for an incredible price. Plenty of power and it comes with the bounce adaptor which I use all the time. I’ve only used it on camera so far for events etc., but I hope to try the radio trigger soon. I love the smaller size compared to the 600. I really don’t know what else to say, it’s absolutely flawless. I highly recommend and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

How much longer do I have to wait for you to make a Speedlight with auto zooming from 18-135mm to match the STM kit lens that came with my EOS Rebel T4i camera? Other than that, it looks good. I especially like the reduced size, the broad bounce angle range and the availability of a Speedlite 430EX III-RT-specific bounce adapter and color filter. Oh, yeah -- the inability to be powered by an external compact battery pack filled with rechargable lithium batteries is a major oversight. Fix it when you come out with the 18-135mm auto zooming model.

It’s been excellent so far! Very easy to use. Shooting with a Canon 6D and I used this to shoot an outdoor event photos came out crisp!

Unfortunately it wasn't fast enough as the evening went on the cycle time took too long I was missing shots. After having it a month I traded it in for the 600 since I already own one of them and they are fast and work great for my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from disappointing I recently purchased the Canon 430EX III RT based on online reviews and vender referrals and have to say that I am extremely disappointed with this Unit. It makes a great on-camera flash via the hot shoe but when trying use it with a multiple flash set up or an off camera flash I have yet to get it to link up with either of my 600EX-RT speedlite or my ST E3-RT transmitter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most user-friendly Speedlite yet!!! I recently sold my 430ex to a friend, and bought two 430ex III RT's. The user interface on this new Speedlite is fantastic, and very intuitive to navigate/change settings. The 430RT's smaller size (as compared to the 600) makes it a convenient Master atop the camera, whether that flash is enabled, or merely being used to control another 430RT that's being used as an off-camera Slave. Can't wait to see this type of user-interface to make it onto future Speedlites.

I previously owned the 430EX, but quickly upgraded to the 580EX to get better rotation of flash head to the left (90 degrees vs. 180, and also for the built-in bounce card. However, the 580EX is a large body, and actually dominates my 6D. This unit is smaller (smaller than the 430EX, too), and weighs less. I am super pleased Canon added the bounce card (catch light panel), and also threw in a "omni" bounce - and - a CTO filter! Thank you, thank you! Cosmetically, it matches the finish of my 6D perfectly, and the size if perfect - seriously looks like it was made for the 6D. Power is the same as the 430s before it, but that is ample for my needs. The controls are very easy to work, much better ergonomics over previous versions. Overall, it has many of the features of the top-of-the-line 580/600EX, but is far more affordable. It is the best Speedlite value, ever!

The size has been reduced making a smaller footprint in my bag and the menu on the back of the flash is a BIG improvement over the version 2. I like the interactive display because it makes navigating a lot easier. The fact that it doesn't zoom to 200mm or there's no external power option is no big deal to me. You can't have it both ways if you want all the features in the world in a relatively small package. That's what the 600EX-RT is for! Nice job on this one Canon!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 430 EX III RT This is the second flash unit I have purchased from the Canon refurbished store. Both units have come packaged like a new flash... in the original box. The unit came unscratched or marked in any way, wrapped in plastic and with all the documentation. And, best of all, the flash works perfectly. I’ve used it in my home studio for a few weeks now. It is used off carmera, set as an optical slave with two other Canon flash units. The 430 is used primarily with a 1X4 strip box used as a hair/rim light. The flash works great, small, light, good recycle time and nice control buttons and dial, much improved over the 430 EX II.

It's loaded with features that I'm still learning how to use, but even the auto setting helps create amazing pictures.
