Capture important moments with the Canon® PowerShot SX420 IS digital camera. The 42x optical zoom camera has a 24mm wide-angle lens with a 20-megapixel image sensor. The point-and-shoot camera records 720p video resolution at 25 fps. This Canon PowerShot SX420 IS features an Optical Image Stabilizer so your images are clear and sharp when shooting close up or far-away. The digital camera also has Intelligent IS to adjust image stabilization and Smart AUTO to select optimal settings during shooting situations. PowerShot SX420 IS includes built-in NFC technology and Wi-Fi® connectivity so you can transfer files to another device. The camera is compatible with the Camera Connect app, allowing users to manage files on mobile devices. PowerShot SX420 IS has a 3-inch LCD screen for reviewing images and videos. Our youngest wanted a good camera for his birthday, so we got another for him. This camera takes stunning pictures and is very easy to operate. Offers a lot of nice features and the price was fantastic!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s was okay until it stopped working.. This camera was okay until the camera stopped working out the middle of no where. The picture quality was pretty decent. I tried new batteries, etc.. and it still did not work. Money gone down the drain for nothing. I had it for less than a year. I was skeptical of using canon products after this but I recently got a new camera the G9x mark ii, so hopefully this one will last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you have an Apple Mac, Forget it. I bought this a month ago and have just tried to transfer pictures to my MacAir. Four hours and nine emails and two phone calls with Canon and they have informed me that no connections, wireless or USB will work with OS 10.13. The only option is to remove the SD card and plug it in to the Mac. Quite ridiculous.

I am not so impress with the video capability which is at 720p and it is noticeable. Also not impress with the battery. I ran out fast compared to other cameras. If you decide to go for it I would recommend that you get a second battery as this camera also cannot be charge via micro USB.

I am neither a novice with camera's or computers (I build my own). I had to read and reread the manual to be able to take advantage of the camera's abilities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Utterly Disappointing 12 year old S3-IS takes way better pictures than this. Very disappointed. All the specs of the SX420 are better, megapixels are more than 3X higher but the photos taken with my old S3 are clearly far superior. The camera body of the SX420 is tiny and feels unsubstantial. If you have little hands this might not be an issue. Controls are much less easy to use than my old camera. Doesn't come with a neck strap although it has holes for it. The Wi-Fi and NFC features would have been awesome, just not worth keeping the camera for that alone. I've been loyal to Canon ever since I purchased my first camera. My grandfather always had Canon. I haven't associated Canon with weak products until now. I enjoyed the sales experience, the woman was wonderful. Return process, not so much. Be advised that you will be responsible for return shipping if you order from this site.

I have a higher end Canon camera and long lens that is very heavy and produces much sharper faster focusing. The SX420 is slow to auto focus and impossible to get shots of flying birds. It feels very flimsy and probably could not stand up to rough field conditions. It is good for still shots and taking general scenes, closeups and people. I will keep practicing.
