Rated 5 out of 5 by from Session monitoring is helpful, and the security and authentication features are good What is most valuable? The most valuable features are security and authentication. The session monitoring capability is good. What needs improvement? I would like to see improved logging because it doesn't keep much information for the session monitoring or historical sessions. What do I think about the stability of the solution? We have not had any trouble with stability, aside from our setup issues. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? We have had no issues with scalability. How are customer service and technical support? I have not been in contact with technical support. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is quite straightforward because we have been using it for some time. We did experience some setup issues, which were mostly related to misconfiguration. The time for deployment is perhaps a week or less. What about the implementation team? We have an in-house team that handles deployment and maintenance. What other advice do I have? This is a solution I would recommend. Overall, this is a good solution that is stable, but I would like to see improvements to the logging capability. I would rate this solution an eight out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Runs seamlessly and has good stability What is our primary use case? Our primary use case of this solution is to give solutions for automating subject data. We provide automation solutions and build the APAs around Citrix Netscaler. What is most valuable? What I find most valuable about this solution is that it runs seamlessly. It is very streamlined. What needs improvement? Areas that should be improved are the configuration of profiles and uploading and downloading of our certificates. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Citrix NetScaler Unified Gateway for around two years now. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The previous version was very stable and so far I haven't had any bugs or issues with the newer version. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The version we're currently using isn't as scalable as the previous one. How are customer service and technical support? I haven't used their technical support yet. How was the initial setup? The initial setup was easy and straightforward. After reading the documents provided, I was able to do everything myself. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We haven't looked at other solutions, because our client preferred Citrix NetScaler Unified Gateway, so we had to comply with that. What other advice do I have? On a scale from one to ten, I will rate this solution an eight. In the next version, I would like to see better configuration of repairs and downloading certification. Better exposure would also be a plus. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A secure and stable solution for virtual desktop infrastructure, but the pricing could be reduced and technical support could be better What is our primary use case? The primary use case of this solution is for a virtual desktop infrastructure. What is most valuable? The most valuable feature is that it is secure. What needs improvement? The price could be reduced because it is slightly more costly than others available in the market. Technical support could be improved. They could do something more with the dashboard. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Citrix Gateway for approximately six years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Citrix Gateway is stable and we have not experienced any issues. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It's a scalable product. How are customer service and technical support? Technical support is not great. There is no proactive support for patches that have been released. For example, there are no mailers to advise you that there are new patches available. There is no direct communication and there doesn't seem to be any focus on the customer. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Pricing is very high if you do a comparison with what is available in the market. It ends up being very expensive. Apart from licensing, there are additional fees for support and partnerships. What other advice do I have? For customers who are concerned with security and would want to have virtual machines in their environment, I recommend this solution. Otherwise, this product is costly. I would rate this solution a seven out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An easy-to-use solution for building basic configurations What is most valuable? It's easy to build basic configurations. It's easy to use for both unmanaged and managed clients. It's very simple, all you need is a browser. What needs improvement? We have experienced issues relating to multi-factor authentication. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using this solution for more than ten years. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Citrix Gateway is both stable and scalable. You could have anywhere from 50 to 50,000 people using it. How are customer service and technical support? The technical support is very responsive and fast. How was the initial setup? The initial setup was very straightforward. You can get it up and running within four hours. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I believe the pricing is comparable to SaaS. What other advice do I have? On a scale from one to ten, I would give Citrix Gateway a rating of nine. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance, extremely stable, and scalable What is our primary use case? Our biggest, most consistent problem was renewing certificates. Otherwise, it works like it isn't even there. It's just a workhorse. What is most valuable? I'm pretty well settled on Citrix. They have the highest performing application on the planet, as far as I know. Just creating that gateway to the storefront for Citrix is the most valuable aspect of the solution for us. What needs improvement? It's extremely complicated and it's not intuitive. The solution requires a lot of training to get going on it. I'm not sure that that's necessarily a critique on it. It may be more of a critique on me and my abilities with it, however, it isn't necessarily straightforward. It could stand for some improvement in that sense. If there were wizards for standard deployments, that might be nice. If there were prompts for situations like trying to deploy one virtual server behind one virtual storefront where the how-to was explained, that would be great. Other than that, you have to get really deep in the gears and figure out which gear you need to move and what lever you've got to pull. It's complex. For how long have I used the solution? I've used the solution as recently as three to six months ago. I have been using the solution off and on in one shape or form for probably eight years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is rock solid. The only problem I ever had with stability on any consistent basis was replacing certificates on a yearly or semi-yearly basis. Otherwise, it is great and extremely reliable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The solution has a great ability to scale. That's not a problem at all on the solution. How are customer service and technical support? Their help desk is reasonably good. However, without wizards, I can spend two hours on a technical support call just trying to figure out how to set something up. That's not a slight on their level of service; however, if the solution made a few design tweaks, it would mean I could spend less time calling them for assistance. How was the initial setup? The initial setup was complex; it was not straightforward. The deployment takes about one to two hours. It's a very feature-rich device. You have to dial into the specifics of what you want to use. It's like a Swiss army knife. It's got a thousand different uses and you only have one or two that you want to use it for. You have figure out just how to set up for those one or two uses. What other advice do I have? I have a good deal of experience with Citrix. They're sitting on top of the heap as far as I can tell. It's not just clout and name recognition, but the actual product and actual performance delivery are stellar. They've got it set far as I know. We're using the latest version of the solution. I'd rate the solution a solid nine out of ten. It's a pain to set up, however, once you've got that sorted, it's an extremely solid product. Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is easy to use, but needs better automation What is most valuable? Its ease of use and how everybody can easily work through it are the most valuable features. What needs improvement? We are currently looking at automation. It would be good if there is some way to automate it in a fast way. It should be easy to automate. It also has some security issues. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Citrix Gateway for five years. How are customer service and technical support? Their technical support is good. How was the initial setup? It is medium in terms of complexity. What other advice do I have? I would recommend this solution. I would rate Citrix Gateway a seven out of ten. There are a couple of features that could be improved. These features are available in other solutions, such as VMware. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs well, but technical support needs improvement What is our primary use case? We use it to consolidate remote access to provide single sign-on across all of the applications. What is most valuable? It performs quite well. What needs improvement? Technical support could be improved. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using Citrix Gateway for about four years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is stable, and we have had no issues. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It is scalable. How are customer service and support? There are some delays in getting support. They eventually come through and get it sorted though, especially if you know the right channels to go through. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is straightforward based on your skill level. That is, if you're not familiar with Citrix, it won't be straightforward. If you are, it will be straightforward. The actual deployment took two to four weeks. What other advice do I have? I would rate this solution at seven on a scale from one to ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from A stable solution, but comes with a complex setup and unresponsive tech support What needs improvement? As Citrix Gateway is a third party solution, we wish to have one which is more integrated and involves less administration. We want one which would allow access with a single click and only require RDP and the clicking of a single icon. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is stable. How are customer service and technical support? Tech support is not that great. Whenever an issue arises, it takes them time to respond and they do so via email. This is something we do not like. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is not straightforward at all. I feel it to be complex and unclear. Which other solutions did I evaluate? The reason we were comparing Citrix Gateway to other solutions is to ensure that a VPN can be used on a desktop, for third-party security reasons. We don't want a situation in which a person can connect to his desktop, but is forced to use our environment using Citrix Gateway. There is no need to use the solution if one wishes to utilize Cisco VPN for connecting to Azure via VDI or to remote the RDP into it. However, Citrix Gateway gives one a better picture of place. Its administration is a bit better and it makes the creation of videos easier and faster once it's set up. My advice to others who are contemplating using the solution is that going with Cisco is preferable, even though Citrix Gateway is a good product. What other advice do I have? Automation is important. At the moment, I am testing for ease of administration and, with the risk that ransomeware poses, for security. I rate Citrix Gateway as a six out of ten. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very flexible configuration; useful for logging features and combinations What is our primary use case? I'm the general manager and CEO of the company. What is most valuable? I like the very flexible configuration of Citrix. It's very useful for our regulations where we are able to log features and combinations. It offers a greater variety of features than any other gateway. What needs improvement? Citrix Gateway has a lot of limitations, cloud limitations as a starting point. Microsoft should combine together and solve those problems. I can't go more than three GBDs whereas on AWS I can go to five GBD and get throughput. Here I'm not able to get into throughput, so I have to deploy multiple gateways to get to throughput and that's a bigger problem. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using this solution for 10 years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is stable and they are currently upgrading. We identified two bugs that have now been fixed. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The solution is scalable and we have one or two people responsible for maintenance. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is very straightforward. If it's a complex configuration, deployment might take one week, otherwise it should just be a day or two. What other advice do I have? I highly recommend this product for any type of organization. I rate this solution a 10 out of 10. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable, simple to set up, and offers good ICA proxy access What is our primary use case? We primarily use the solution for secure remote access and endpoint evaluation, and basically, that's it What is most valuable? The remote access, the ICA proxy access, is the most valuable aspect of the product. It offers an easy initial setup. The solution is scalable. It's stable. What needs improvement? The solution could always be cheaper. It would be nice if they offered easier setups and implementation wizards. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using the solution for a long time. It's been about ten years or so. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is stable and reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The solution can scale very well. That's not an issue at all. The number of users depends on the customer. We have some customers that have 15 to 100 users. Others have up to 3,000 users. It all depends. How are customer service and support? For the deployment, we generally don't need technical support. We do need technical support for issues, and that's it. How was the initial setup? The solution is very easy to set up. It's straightforward. it's not complex at all. What about the implementation team? I work as an integrator, so I can set up the solution easily. I work as an integrator or a consultant for several customers. However, you can do it in-house. That said, normally customers contract a consultant to do the deployment, and sometimes it's integrated within a broader Citrix solution. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? There are many licensing options. Some clients prefer to pay monthly. Others pay outright and then just pay for support. Others pay for an annual license. I'd rate the solution three out of five in terms of affordability. What other advice do I have? We use both cloud and on-premises deployments. We're using the latest version of the solution. It does what it's meant to do. It's a very stable solution. It's very easy to upgrade from a single gateway to other features that are present on the same platform, like the application firewall, and the IP reputation is really valuable if you want to protect your environment. I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer:Integrator

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth, easy to use, and reliable What is our primary use case? We primarily use the solution for our virtual machines. We use it to access development environments. What is most valuable? It's pretty smooth. I didn't have any hiccups or issues with it. The solution is stable. It is easy to use. It does basically what it is meant for. What needs improvement? Sometimes the input-output has issues. Maybe it's not as seamless when you plug in audio. It takes some time to reflect that into Citrix and basically to allow Citrix to use those audiences and put out devices. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It's a stable product. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. We have not seen any outages or anything as such. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? I'm not sure how many people are using the solution in our organization. It's at least 2,000 to 3,000. It's well less than 10,000. I'm not aware as to if the solution itself is scalable. How are customer service and support? I've never dealt with technical support. I can't speak to how helpful or responsive they are. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I've not used any other tools to connect to any other virtual machines. I cannot compare it with another tool. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I'm not sure about the pricing. As an end-user, it's not an aspect I can handle. What other advice do I have? I'm basically a user and not from a technical side. We've been using Citrix Database for all the automation systems scattered across most of the organizations for accessing development. I'm not sure which version of the solution we're using. I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. As a user, I can recommend the solution. However, from technical insights, like what are the other options available in the market or how does it cost and how effective the support is, I can't speak to how the solution is. That said, Citrix is quite a big draw. The tool has been used by many organizations. Definitely, it will be a good choice to check out. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to install, plenty of online documentation, but slow VPN What is our primary use case? I use Citrix Gateway mostly for communication with my other networks because I'm connecting through public domains. If I am not connected to the network of my company, I won't be able to get access to any of my services or check the connectivity to the other locations. What needs improvement? Citrix Gateway could improve the speed of the VPN. I sometimes have to wait for 10 to 15 minutes to get connected and other times when I am connected I have to abort, and reconnect. In a future release of the solution, they should improve the performance of the VPN and overall ease of use. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Citrix Gateway for approximately one year. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Citrix Gateway is stable once I am connected. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Citrix Gateway is scalable, you only need to have the correct license to have it scale. We have approximately 400 to 500 people using this solution in my organization. How are customer service and support? I have not needed support from Citrix Gateway because all the information is easily retrieved from the internet using the Google search engine. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I use Fortinet VPN and it is better compared to Citrix Gateway's VPN. How was the initial setup? The setup of Citrix Gateway is easy. It took me approximately one day for the implementation including testing. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? There is a license to use Citrix Gateway and it is less expensive to use when compared to other solutions. What other advice do I have? I would not recommend Citrix Gateway because there are better solutions available, such as Fortinet FortiClient. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Provided the ability for remote work during the pandemic What is our primary use case? I use Citrix Gateway daily. We are expanding the usage all the time. The solution is for external users who want to get into the office network. We provide external access to external users so they can access the application. How has it helped my organization? During the pandemic, many people were unable to go to the office. Citrix Gateway enabled them to work from home and access the office network. What is most valuable? Providing our organization the ability to work remotely was the most valuable feature of Citrix Gateway. I also enjoy that they are always adding features. What needs improvement? As an organization, our initiative is to move to the cloud, Citrix Gateway needs to improve its cloud capabilities and make the cloud solution more robust. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Citrix Gateway for six years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? This is a stable solution. Our company uses Citrix because it is stable, and it is the primary product for virtualization. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Citrix Gateway is scalable. How are customer service and support? My experience with Citrix support has been good. I would rate them a four out of five. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive How was the initial setup? The initial setup of Citrix Gateway is complex. I would rate the setup complexity a four out of five. Deploying only takes one to two hours, but depending on the design, it can take longer. We need to get a lot of configuration details from the firewall and network team, which is time-consuming. The solution requires two people to deploy and maintain, however it is part of the whole Citrix package. What about the implementation team? We implemented the solution in-house. What other advice do I have? I would rate Citrix Gateway an eight out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Is easy to install, stable, and scalable What is our primary use case? In our environment right now, we are using NetScaler. We purchased two devices last year for our Citrix VDI environment, for load balancing and gateway features for VPN connectivity. What is most valuable? It is easy to set up and is stable. It is scalable as well, depending on the model. What needs improvement? Security enhancements could be made, and technical support could be improved. Their VAS product should be more productive because right now, we are using other VAS solutions but not using this one. Right now, the multi-factor authentication solution built-in with the product works, but it actually uses Google Authenticator, a third-party authenticator. I would like Citrix to launch their own authenticator-based software so that it will be more secure. It will be more personalized according to the requirements too. For how long have I used the solution? I've been working with Citrix Gateway for around two years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The product has been stable so far. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It is scalable depending on the model you have. We have about 5,000 plus users in our company. How are customer service and technical support? Technical support is quite good. Improvement is needed on the technical side, response time, and technical engineer support. How was the initial setup? The initial setup was very easy. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The price could be lower. What other advice do I have? On a scale from one to ten, I would rate Citrix Gateway at nine. It is our application filtering and gateway portal for our Citrix end-users. We have its most recent version. What is most valuable? It adds great security to your outfacing information. It is pretty full-featured. There are a lot of things that you can do with this. It is amazing what it can do. What needs improvement? Its interface could be made a lot easier. It is very kludgy. Its initial setup could be easier. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using this solution for quite a few years. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Out Citrix team deals with it, and there are three people who work on it. How are customer service and technical support? Their tech support is extremely good. I haven't heard of any issues with their tech support. How was the initial setup? It is complex and could be easier. It took us about two weeks to deploy. What about the implementation team? We used a consultant. They were good. They knew the product. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? It costs about 4,000 a year. What other advice do I have? I would advise others to definitely go through somebody who knows the product. I would rate this solution a nine out of 10.
