Rated 5 out of 5 by from GOOD FOR TEXT, BUT... If you need a printer to print good quality text, at good print speeds, and reasonably priced for a laser, this be the one for you. BUT, if your needing to print areas of solid color, screened backgrounds, photos... this printer is terrible! Streaks all throughout photos and solid color areas, uneven color, "spattered" color; very disappointed in the print quality of this printer. Thought i could get away from the dreaded printer streaks of inkjets by getting a laser, but this printer is worse at streaking than any ink jet I have ever owned. At least with the ink jet I could run a few cleaning cycles and get rid of the streaks, but with this laser there's nothing to do. So unless you are just printing text, or love having streaks all over in your prints, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PIECE OF JUNK!

The color printing is handy to have for handouts. Our inkjet printer is now only used for photo quality prints. It’s perfect for an at home Covid era teacher.

I do wish it had a screen which I could lay a document on to copy, but I have other printers that offer that option or I can scan the document, then print.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It could be Great, if. For the most part the print quality is good; however, I have paper handling issues. Sometimes it will feed 3 or 4 sheets of paper at one time. I've tried different settings to no avail. Also, envelopes come out wrinkled unless I flip the levers in the back for printing them, but then I get a noticeable crease on one side when printing letter size paper.

The true test of office equipment is often how well it can perform in a small office environment where the luxury of a tech team isn`t in the budget. In the real world smaller can`t mean less productive, and here the Brother HL-L8260 CDW performs like a champion. For the smaller office the three features most needed are definitely apparent. Easy to Set UpThe product instructions for this printer are easy to follow, and setting up the printer to immediately start producing high quality prints was simple. It`s possible to print from USB drives with the HL-L8260`s handy port located in the front, where it is easily accessed. AirPrint is possible for Apple mobile devices, and wireless setup is quick with the printer`s touch-screen LCD. Loading Paper Anyone working in a small office typically has one complaint about most printers, and that`s jamming. It can bring production to a halt, and frustrate even the most even-tempered staff member. Working with the L8260 for a month reveals this printer runs smoothly, quietly, and with no jams despite continual usage. Quality of the Printing Nothing makes a small business look as amateurish as poor quality printing. After printing maps, photos, standard reports, color photos the results are top notch. Shading was perfect in photos, small print was clear with no blurring or fading, and printing on two sides resulted in cost savings with no loss of quality. Printing was fast up to 33 ppm for black and color printing, which can make a big difference in productivity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast printer I bought this for my classroom. Needed to be able to print evelopes for parents and stuff for my class. This printer you can print up to 10 evelopes at a time. Wish I would have known that before the I bought the model below this one. Makes my power flicker and shuts down my computer when I use it because it draws a lot of electricity. Could be because I had other items also plugged in or it could be an electrial issue in my home however got it to work once I had a back up battery installed. It is fast and when it does too much it takes it's own little cooling off breaks then gets back to work. Wish I could do more than 10 envelopes at a time but this is way better than the model below it which only did one at a time was tedious to feed them thru. Now if I can print my 3x5 index cards like it says I can then it'll be so totally worth it. Images are clear and color looks good. Does labels well without accidentally peeling them.

If it was not text it would be noticeably blurry and unusable. If you want to print text it looks great, but if you want to use it for anything else buy something different.

After nearly a month of home/small office usage, I am extremely pleased with my purchase. The printer responds very quickly, has duplex printing and has not had any paper jams/misfeeds that were frequently seen on the HP. Output has been very good and my wife, a realtor, loves it. The previous printer would have issues reconnecting if a laptop went into sleep/suspend. It was always a crap shoot if the HP would show up on our phones for printing. This Brother laser has been perfect and always available.

I did have a malfunction with it which after a several tests and a couple of hours on the phone with customer service, was diagnosed as a leaky toner cartridge. They sent me a replacement for free and with the new cartridge plugged in worked like a charm. The negative is that it has limitations on what paper travels through the regular paper tray. My old printer can chug through some pretty heavy paper weights in the regular paper tray. Overall, this is a great printer for anyone who doesn't want an inkjet.

The instructions to setup not good. Had to wait to talk to brother tech for setup. Open only Mon-Friday .So now I have to buy a another piece of equipment to scan,fax and copy.

HL-L8260CDW - Business Color Laser Printer This printer is a very nice printer for a small office, that has separate machines for different functions. It prints extremely well. Printing is clear, color is vibrant. It is very quiet, warms up quickly, and prints fairly fast. It`s WIFI capabilities make it an extremely user-friendly machine, by letting you print from several wireless devices. That is one of my favorite features. Set up was simple, and required almost no effort, maybe 10 minutes from box to printing. Set up instructions were extremely clear and simple to follow. In comparison to other printers I have used in the past, this was a breeze. As far as the quality of the printing, it far exceeded my expectations. It was able to print thin lines, thick lines, graphics and charts without smearing the print or having the lines run together. Exceptional quality printing. The only thing that I would suggest that could be improved upon would be the fact that you cannot make copies or do scanning into your computer from this machine. I understand that it is a stand-alone machine, as it only does printing. The area where our office machines are is quite compact, meaning there is not a lot of room for a lot of standalone machines. It works better for us if we have one machine that will do printing, copying and scanning. Overall, it is a fantastic printer, if the only function you are looking for is a standalone printer. The printer is very user friendly and the quality of the printing is outstanding.

The Brother HL-8260cdw business color laser printer is a great printer for a small business. Its size is compact and will fit well in a small office without taking up too much real estate. It holds about 300 sheets split between trays. I used it to print about 100 sheets a day with great print quality! The laser printer was good for my high volume small business printing. Using toner rather than ink was cleaner and crisper. It only uses four cartridge that need to be replaced only when that color runs out. The printer is fast and quiet. Setting up was pretty easy and standard having set up many printers before. I love the wireless printing ability. I can print from my computer, tablet and phone. It was easy to connect to my office network. The only improvement would be a slightly smaller footprint. All in all this is a great, fast printer that would work well for everyday use in a home or small office.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have used this model several years wearing out 2 I have used this model for several years, but the one sent made wierd noices, and they said they would replace it and said they did not want other returned. They did not tell me that I had to keep the belt or waste toner so I tossed all away. Now I have a base machine without those components, and there is no guarantee that if I replace them, that the machine will work. I ordered another machine from another dealer, and it made the same sound when I hooked it up, so I returned that machine for a refund and still have this other on hand and do not know if replacing the two parts if it will work. Any ideas if they are having problems with this machine? I notice it is not now available!

I've been searching the Brother website for help. It's pretty lousy. The included manuals have no reference to deep sleep. I'd turn it off if I could. Overall the printer is ok. This Sleep thing is pretty irritating. I'd pick another printer.

Setup: Unit is quite heavy but does not take up too much space.Was well packed and easy to get out of the box with help due to weight of printer.Would like more if lighter. Everything came included in the box accept the USB chord. Love the fact everything is included. Very convenient. I assume no USB chord is a mistake on companies part.Once the unit was set in place. It was very easy to remove all packaging and set up ink to run.Love how the ink rolls out so easy and all the cartridges are sitting right there to see and replace when needed. Also nice and easy to load paper into tray.Connecting printer to my computer and WiFi: This was a bit of a nightmare. It took me about an hour to get the printer going. This was very inconvenient. I think there were multiple problems maybe, between computer, printer and router. After multiple troubleshooting tasks, I finally got it going. There still seems to be a problem with the printer and my computer staying connected but printer seems to stay connected with my Ipad. This is very inconvenient. But I do love the fact that multiple devices can connect to printer.Print quality: It prints very fast and does multiple copies with no problem. I think it is really cool how it prints 2 sides.The print on paper looks Ok but does not seem to have the same color pop as my other printer.Appearance: I like the easy and advanced look of the control panel on printer. I also like the way and where printed paper is held.

It's not the fastest, but it's good enough - does what it says it'll do, good size, reasonable toner cost (not that color laser toner is reasonably price to begin with), and fast enough for my home/small biz needs. I have a B&W MFC Brother laser printer for my main use, otherwise, I'd be harsher on this (or any color laser due to the cost to operate them). For my color needs, it's great.

It's now been 5 months since it said the toner was empty and I reset it. I am STILL printing perfect copies! Then only thing I hoped for was that it would have the gorgeous sheen like a color copier has. The color is duller than the copier, but excellent for a laser printer. Overall, I love it!!

First, it does not drain power causing lights to dim. I prints fast and the colors are spot on. The cartridges cost less than my HP. This is a very good printer.

Printed 50 copies and ran out of cyan, yellow and magenta toner. The quality of color printer was very good but starter cartridges should contain more toner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When toner is out - Printer becomes a paperweight. All I'm going to say is, when your toner is out (yes, it does warn you for awhile when it's low, the printer is USELESS. It becomes a paperweight. You can NOT print anything (even black and white when a color is out) until you buy a NEW cartridge. You can not place a cartridge from the same model into it. The printer 'reads' something off the toner that makes them un-swappable. There, no longer, are codes to reset the toner count and continue printing. Brother tells you when you must replace the toner and my prints looks fine. I used to go two or three months longer until the page faded enough to replace the toner. Those days are over.

I operate a small home business and my Brothers printer is central to my marketing and outreach efforts. Brothers printers tend to be easy to use and maintain although the printer cartridges are quite expensive. All in all, a great product. The only one I use.

This product was easy to take out of the box, easy to lift out and place on my desk. It was also easy to set up, the directions were easy to follow, and get the machine working quickly. I had the machine out of the box, setup, and working within 20-25 minutes. Setting it up to my WI-FI network was very easy as well. As far as printing, it is fast, quiet, and easy to use. My copies look clean, sharp, and easy to read. One con about the product. For some reason, during the first week of use, it kept disconnecting from my WI-FI network. But, the customer service people at BROTHER were, in a word, FANTASTIC!!! Every time I have called there, there were pleasant and professional, going out of their way to make sure any issue was resolved. I love that FREE LIFETIME Customer Service comes with this product! I am a REALTOR, so I need a machine that is fast, efficient, and cost effective. I print possibly hundreds of copies in a week. I have put this machine to a very rigorous test, and it PASSED with FLYING COLORS!!!!!! This is one of the best home style printers I have ever used! And as a bonus, it appears replacement ink is also very well priced compared to other models I have looked at. I LOVE this printer, LOVE Customer Service!!!!!!

Front loading tray is great for envelopes or odd size paper, i.e, printing a single page legal size paper. No need to change main paper tray. The monitoring software only shows ink levels, if it also showed statistics like the number of pages printed both overall and per toner cartridge, page count for the imager, etc. I would have rated this printer a five.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality I’ve owned Bother printers before and so far this one is just as good. Easy to set up on my home network. I’ve never owned a color laser printer before and this unit seems to very well on plain paper. I want to get some photo quality paper and see how that looks. I will be able to give a better review after I’ve had this printer for a while. I know the toner cartridges will be very expensive but I don’t print that much color, so I’ll buy a high yield black cartridge and post an update to this review in a few months. I would recommend any Brother printer.

It takes a few seconds to start up, but once it starts printing it puts pages out rather fast. The control panel is easy to use and to understand.

I am very impressed with the compact design of the Brother printer. I have found this to be a quality printer which produces sharp, clear prints with true to original color. I have used many other printers in the past which were not up to this standard. This printer has produced quality print jobs each and every time. I was very pleased with the neutral color of the actual printer which blends in with my office space. I particularly like the wireless function which can be used to print wirelessly from any device by anyone in my network. Envelopes are printed easily you just need to be sure to open the back panel and release the two grey tabs completely so the envelopes do not wrinkle. The printer came in a very sturdy box and packed very well. It was simple to set up with just one cord which needed connected to an outlet. It came with a CD to install the printer drivers. It would have been beneficial if the quick set up instructions would have been more detailed in reference to the alternative wireless setup. I actually needed to use the up and down arrows on the printer menu to scroll through the alphabet to input the SSID and Network Key to set up the wireless connection. This took a few extra minutes to get the printer connected but once it was connected to the network there has been no problem. Overall, I have been very impressed with the high quality print jobs produced by this printer. The online manual is invaluable for learning quickly about the various functions in more detail. I will continue to use this printer for my printing needs. I would recommend this printer.

No control over what pages are actually printed. Creates lost time, paper and ink. Not environmentally friendly at all either. Disappointed. I thought by buying a replacement printer in the same model line as the HL-8250 that it would have the same functionality.

My only complaint is feeding envelopes into the front tray, and during the process of being pulled into the printer and somewhere along the way, the envelope has gets wrinkled along the bottom, probably between rollers.

It doesn't always connect to the Internet when I am sending a page, still trying to figure out what is up with that. Eventually does print, but weird how it doesn't connect every time. I wish it came with a printed owner's manual.

I think it’s 3 or 4 times faster than the Xerox it replaced. Print quality and duplex printing are excellent. My only criticism is enabling Wi-Fi on my network was not at all intuitive. I had to find a video on the Brother web site to help. I installed no software to use printer in my Apple environment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad Printer Bought this unit and the print quality sucks, the heat rollers continue to tear and destroy anything that is printed with a stripe down the sheet, finding replacement parts is near impossible to even get it fixed. Not worth the money - the paper tray clip broke and there aren't any replacements available unless you want to purchase the entire bottom tray. We use the printer to print product labels and this machine wasted more paper and product than I can count. I do not recommend this printer. And the ink runs out quickly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for simple document printing only Good for simple document printing but very bad for graphical printing. It’s not crisp as it is compared to inkjet printing. Also, this changes the image size no matter what application you are using. I’ve called customer service several times and they couldn’t help me with the auto sizing my images. I have wasted so many paper because i had to figure out the numbers on how much the printer resize the image. I figured out that i had to increase my images to 0.0625 to get the actual image when printed. I never had issues like this in other printers. Whatever i have in my image design in my Adobe illustrator, it prints the exact size. Brother does not do that. If i print a 2 inch circle, i get a 1.9375 or less circle. The quality of the printing is not great. It prints darker images. And sometimes the image color or if i print a colored background, the print is a little noisy.. meaning there are white fine dots in the image - it’s not completely clean. Very disappointing. I’ve always have this issue from the moment i took it out from the box. But i gave it a chance but still disappoints me everytime. Wished i could return it but can no longer return it. Also, the toner is VERY EXPENSIVE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Frills, Just Great Color Laser Printer I've owned literally dozens of printers over the decades; from cheap ink jets to thermal wax transfer units to elaborate, wide-carriage dye sublimation printers. I've owned feature-rich all-in-ones that held great novelty for ten minutes then went largely underutilized for the duration of their lifespan in my office. After years of experience with negotiating the gauntlet of REAL WORLD printers needs - great, usable features without high wear components or exorbitant supply and maintenance costs I've come to appreciate a 'no frills', solid product like this Brother color laser. Intuitive, low-maintenance, problem-free, strong and capable where it should be with stunning, top shelf output when you want it. It makes my all-time top purchase list.

There was no assembly, as such, and the instructions for removing all the packing materials were pictures, printed on the materials themselves. Making it very easy to understand in any language. The only minor difficulty was in finding the right USB cable. I`d love to see it included with the unit. But once it was secured, the computer connected and the CD inserted, set up was fast and easy. The wizard guided me through the process flawlessly. Within 10 minutes I was printing beautiful photos on the odd sized paper I had handy. My business invoices have never been so crisp and clear. Much more professional and much faster than the ink jet printer I will be retiring. I`m very pleased with it`s performance and happy to continue to put it through it`s paces.

After reading reviews, checking features and prices, I decided on the Brother HL-L8260CDW printer. I am acquainted with the Brother name, and quality from my former company's exclusive use of Brother monochrome fax machines. So far, it was a great choice, I have gone through about a half a ream of paper with great results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does the job. The printer prints fine, just a couple of issues that is slightly off putting. First, using the bypass tray is a little more work than I would like. I wish Brother will work on this issue, there should be a better way than to have to open the back flap when using the bypass tray. I have actually never come across this before. Second issue is the fact that the printer has a hard time printing directly from the internet. It seems to be a hit or miss on this. I’m usually more successful printing from the internet if I can download the document.

REMOVE PACKING MATERIALS: Using the Quick Setup Guide, I removed the packing materials and loaded the paper in the paper tray. I liked that the plastic packing materials were orange, so they were easy to spot and remove. It was also very easy to remove the packing materials from the paper tray and load the paper. CONNECT POWER: Next, I connected the power cord, found the power button and pressed it to turn it on. CONNECT PRINTER TO COMPUTER: The instructions recommend configuring wireless settings from the computer, so I proceeded to put the installation disc into my disc drive. It would not automatically connect. I had to use the alternative wireless setup in Step 7. This didn`t work either, so I followed the instructions on the Setup Wizard shown on my computer screen and used my USB cable to temporarily connect after which I was able to disconnect the USB cable and finish the setup. This finally worked and now it is wirelessly connected! CONNECT PRINTER TO MOBILE DEVICE: I downloaded the Brother iPrint and Scan app on my iPhone so I can print from my phone. My phone had trouble finding the printer. So then, I realized I needed to turn on my phone`s WiFi and Bluetooth after which it was able to find it. I could then print from my phone. PRINT QUALITY: I printed a photo from my phone and the colors were very vivid and true to life. I am very pleased with the results. I also printed documents from my desktop computer, and they are sharp and excellent. PROBLEMS: I really didn`t encounter any problems except issues resulting from my own stupidity such as not having the WiFi or Bluetooth on my phone when I initially tried to pair the printer and phone. Once I turned those on, I had no problem. When connecting the printer to my desktop computer, it was not as easy as connecting automatically. I had to troubleshoot and use a USB cable to temporarily connect first before it would connect wirelessly. I don`t know what I would have done if I didn`t have a USB cable. However, in the end, everything is connected and everything works!

The HL-L8260CDW arrived in a well packed but easily opened carton. The directions for unpacking and initial set up were very clear with blow-up diagrams. It took several minutes to arrange a secure area to place the unit. It is a very solid (not heavy)and well made printer. The footprint fit well on top of a two drawer metal filing cabinet. I would not recommend those slight plastic cabinets with plastic casters. The included CD made quick work of installing the drivers. I found a need for a WiFi extender although that has everything to do with the Fios router. After adding the extender, the printer was connected and up and running in less than five minutes. The clarity of the graphics is excellent. B/W print is crisp and extremely fast. Color is rich and full. Photos look ok but not the primary use for this printer. While I doubt I`ll hit the 40,000 page monthly duty cycle, it worked flawlessly while completing a 1400 page, full color two-sided job. The duplex capability was quick and smooth. Overall, I am more than pleased with the quality and attributes of the machine.

So I was not getting my money's worth out of the inkjet cartridges. Due to cost considerations, I had switched to a Brother black laser printer (HL-2270DW) to print black and white and had great success. So I decided to look at the color laser printers and I'm very happy that I did. The quality is great, the setup we easy, and I've had zero issues printing anything.

The paper feeder arrest lid is small, it held about 20 -40 pages, the rest fly onto the floor. The pages were numbered so I was able to sort the book after a hour or more. I purchased a extra paper tray that is not recognized by the printer as tray 2 nor tray?? after I reloaded the parameters from the face plate. I just no second tray.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very slow spooling Purchased this to be used as a receipt printer to upgrade from an older model because of it's advertised fast printing speed, Ended up being a downgrade as I can literally count slowly to 10 from the time I click "print" to the time it actually starts printing. Meanwhile, my customer is staring at me wondering what's taking so long. 8 year old printer would start printing almost immediately. Tried changing settings on the new one but nothing helps. Just very slow to spool. Print quality is fine.

Using paper designed for laserjet machines is always a good idea for optimum results. One thing I want to suggest...Brother please update your installation guide. If a user has a multi channel router, the printer must first be hooked up to the wifi using the LCD screen on the printer (if it has one) THEN plug into computer to finish installation. Not the other way around. It took me 2 hours of failure and researching the internet and then a call to Brother because the installation guide is not complete, the printer kept kicking my pc('s) off the wifi.

Yes it has the capacity to print high volume in color, however the receiving speed is slow. Because it is wireless this gets bogged down at times and becomes incredibly slow.

However, no matter what setting we choose for two-sided printing, it ALWAYS flips short edge for two-sided printing. This is terrible. We have to manually print two-sided, and that defeats the whole purpose of buying a printer that can print two-sided. Beware of this product until they fix the drivers (which should have happened a long time ago as I am finding many people with the same problem posting on forums from over a year ago).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s ok. First of all, i have wasted so many paper materials (mostly cardstock with this printer because it just won’t print how i expected it to print. This printer does not offer borderless print - which i thought printers never offer that (because one of the brother representative told me so) until i stumbled upon another brand printer that offers borderless. Not sure if she meant only laser printers don’t offer borderless prints because the one i have (from another brand) prints borderless and is an inkjet printer. Anyway, brother laser printer is disappointing on my end because it resize your image. Again, I called customer service about this matter but they could not give me a definite answer why the image would shrink. Even when i choose the “do not scale” option, i still end up with a size adjusted image. So in order for me to get the image (size in this matter) that i want, i had to waste tons of paper and figure out the measurement difference by myself so i can adjust the image in the printer just so i could get the perfect printed image. For example, a simple 2.5 inch circle would be printed as a 2.4375 inch circle. So i had to adjust the circle to 2.5625 inch in Adobe illustrator (the program i always use to edit and print) to get a 2.5 inch circle printed image. Another issue is that it doesn’t print straight (sometimes crooked) when you use the top feeder (since i always print with cardstock) the printed results often be a little off. The margin would be slightly off the line. I assumed it’s because the way the feeder receives the paper makes it unaligned to be begin with. My solution was to assist the feeder when picking up the cardstock - which is not always ends up with good results and still waste alot of special paper. Another issue is the printer tends to print darker. I had called so many times to brother customer service to assist me with color management but still not so satisfied with the print results. Again, other brands were able to satisfy my expectations. So it’s really this printer that doesn’t meet my expectations most of the time. Lastly, the each toners are quite expensive. I really would want to love this printer but the prints just don’t satisfy my expectations like the other brands. I had this printer since 2017, i was still able to print documents which i have no problem at all. But i do not recommend running a small business with this.

STORAGE: I participated in a market research study and received this product to evaluate. I have a Home office with a few of us that utilize the printer on a daily basis alot and having one place designated for Printer only is Great! The space to the left of the large Desk out of the way has been wonderful as we have it set up on the Wireless network, preferred so we are not connecting Ethernet connectivity. It serves our space greatly and working environment. ASSEMBLY: Assembly was good. Two people is better than one. We needed two people to lift and attach and assemble the printer it was very easy to assemble once we got going on the instructions from the video . The instructions on the video tell you step by step how to assemble and are slow enough to understand. I am sure with ambition the assembly of this printer could be done by a single person if needed. STABILITY: The stand and area we designated it at next to the desk is very stable. We have no worries about it toppling over or falling apart. It is a oak like looking stand mostly made of partial board I am sure, it is not an incredibly solid but the printer looks good and is very solid on it.It will work excellent even when bumped it is heavy enough to not fall or tip over as it should fulfill our purpose for our home office needs greatly. PROBLEMS: I really didn`t see any problems that were concerning. We print photo`s at times on our printouts and the photo quality can be excellent or okay. Labels if you do not print a very very large job the color ink is good. Also does have a delay in printing but that is with any printer. Overall good. PROS: This laser color printer has a very good rapid output for quality and for the text and graphics printing speed very fast and effectively. It is a great medium-duty printer to use in a small or micro office or our work groups. It offers a wide range of connection choices, we use the WiFi and also our smartphone devices which are great and easy to use. Also good paper handling and this printer supports Google Cloud Print, and works with the Brother i Print &Scan app, which we love on our desk top as well as our smart phone devices. We are very happy with it for our office needs. PRICE: Reasonably priced, fast, text and graphics look good, a perfect match for a small company or home business or small work group or micro office would recommend.

This business class color laser printer is an ideal printer for those who want a dependable, consistent, feature rich, and flexible business workgroup printer. It is not only suited for small business (high output, long toner lifecycle, and multiple networking connectivity options but also a great fit for a home user. I consider this class of printer a professional office grade product, with fantastic support and the reputation that Brother has established for itself in the Printer/scanner/fax machine world. Previous to this product, my experience with Brother International was mostly in the business class fax machine category. As an IT professional I have setup, used and supported many different business class workgroup laser printers by top manufacturers. This gives me an idea of what to expect from a product and to accurately compare and conclude my findings during the review phase. Prior to receiving this product, I had high expectations from Brother. As I have grown to trust its brand in the printer/scanner/fax world. My initial impressions during the unboxing and setup phase was positive. The printer design and footprint are favorable. Specs and build quality were impressive. With a high yield toner cartridge option, and its high duty cycle, I expected great things during testing. I was met pleasantly with its consistent print speed, and quality. Power consumption was good, printer noise level was about par with others in its class, although I found it to be a bit loud during printing for a home environment, but other than that, it was off to a good start. During the network setup phase, I found this printer to be very user friendly and intuitive. It has a nice LCD display with logical placed and well prioritized button functions. Design and execution of its display and functions were top tier. Wifi setup was a breeze as it was all pretty much automatic with few user necessary inputs. During its printing phase, it put out everything that i threw at it, with good speed, and great image/print quality. From printing documents in Black and white, to printing high resolution images in color, it delivered without a hitch. Duplex printing performed without incident. I also wanted to see if the Gigabit Lan setup was as easy as the Wifi setup, and it was. Additionally I opted to install a few of the extra software utilities that were available from Brother to troubleshoot, test and manage its functionality in a workgroup networked environment. I administered the printer through a very simple and effective software tool called BRADMIN Pro. How well the printer carried out changes to its settings via the admin tool was an important factor to me, as this printer was designed to be used in a business office environment. There is also the Status monitor software which is included in the CD that comes with the printer. Its great for fast troubleshooting, and checking printer supply and status. Overall from initial impressions, unboxing, physical setup, and print cycle testing, I honestly could not find anything to complain about. It made quick work of all print jobs that were thrown at it. Frankly, besides the noise while printing and a few seconds of delay when sending print jobs wirelessly (receiving data), i was satisfied that this product would provide years of reliable, consistent and cost effective printing duty in any small to medium size workgroup environment. My favorite feature of this printer is definitely the mobile device direct printing capability (IOS air print and droid). No setup on the mobile device, just pick something and print it! seamless! Overall I was very impressed from start to finish in my testing and review of this product. I am proud to have it in my home office for all my printing needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Basic small office printer This printer is fast, but only after it starts. It may take almost a full minute to start printing sometimes. But, the color is great, the speed is above average once started, and the ink seems to last much longer than our old Canon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer! Duplex printing! Very quiet! This is a very nice printer. It supports native AirPrint, prints duplex, and is a very nice color laser printer. It replaced a previous version of a similar printer...which lasted much longer than expected!
