The ServSwitch for public and private networks

If you work in an environment where protecting information is key, you may have access to a non-secure network that may be linked to the Internet. You probably also have access to a secure network that must be kept separate from the outside world. For obvious reasons, these two networks must be connected to separate CPUs. Of course, that means you have two keyboards, two monitors, and two mice cluttering your desktop.

There is a solution—the ServSwitch™ (Secure) from Black Box. You keep your CPUs separate, but use just one keyboard, monitor, and mouse to access both. The ServSwitch enables you to switch between CPUs with just the touch of a button and at the same time provides separation between CPUs. It’s so secure, you can use this switch to control multiple computers of varying security levels from single workstations.

The switch is permanently hard wired. Every circuit is soldered down and there is no flash ROM. There is no way to use software to access one CPU from the other or to access one network from the other. Your secure network stays secure and your secrets stay just that—secrets.

You get automatic booting even with different kinds of CPUs! Connect both PC and PS/2® CPUs to the ServSwitch, and boot them all simultaneously. Or boot them remotely from your PC.

The ServSwitch sends the keyboard and mouse signals your CPU expects. Your CPUs don’t lock up during switching, so repeated rebooting is eliminated, and you save time.

Plug a PS/2 mouse into the switch and access CPUs controlled with either serial or PS/2 mice—or any combination of the two. The ServSwitch supports PS/2 Scan Modes 1, 2, and 3 for maximum compatibility.

Monitor the entire system at a glance. You can check the status of every CPU right from your own monitor. Each CPU comes up on your monitor one at a time. That’s ideal for routine monitoring and especially for troubleshooting.

Switching among CPUs is simple. Switch with a keyboard or the front-panel buttons. The ServSwitch is compatible with VGA/SVGA.

This is one tough switch. The robust metal case is built for hard use and provides excellent shielding against EMI/RFI and the switching mechanism is built to keep on switching for years!

Features:
Non-upgradable ROM for security.
Separation of computers connected to different networks.
Switch between up to four CPUs from one keyboard, monitor, and mouse.
Switch from your keyboard or the switch’s front panel.
Automatic keyboard and mouse booting for IBM PC compatibles.
