Barracuda Web Security Gateway 810

The Barracuda Web Filter 810 enables you to enforce your organization's Internet usage policy and protect your networks. The Barracuda Web Filter 810 is a gateway appliance that integrates content filtering, application blocking, and malware protection. Included Energize Updates ensure that all content category, application, and malware definitions are always up-to-date.

Content Filtering:
The Barracuda Web Filter 810 blocks access to content that violates your organization's Internet usage policy. You can block content based on content category, domain, URL pattern, or file type. Content categories span over 50 classifications, including pornography, violence, dating, jobs, and chat sites. In addition, the Barracuda Web Filter integrates with the safe searching capabilities of popular image search engines to restrict browsing of objectionable content in search results.

Application Blocking:
The Barracuda Web Filter 810 blocks usage of Internet applications that violate policy. You can block access to popular IM clients such as AIM, ICQ, Yahoo! Messenger, and MSN Messenger. Other Internet applications you can block include software updaters, media applications, and Internet toolbars and utilities.

Customizable Policies:
The Barracuda Web Filter 810 enables you to tailor your policy enforcement to specific users and groups. The Barracuda Web Filter 810 provides support for all popular directory servers that support LDAP, including Active Directory, Domino Directory, and Novell eDirectory for both user authentication and to apply group policies. You can also define policies based on IP network address or subnet.

Integrated Spyware and Virus Protection:
The Barracuda Web Filter 810 provides complete network protection at the gateway against spyware and virus downloads to prevent infections before they reach your users' desktop computers. For computers that have already been infected, the Barracuda Web Filter 810 blocks and logs spyware attempts to "phone home." Once the Barracuda Web Filter 810 detects infection activity, it can also automatically serve up the included Barracuda Spyware Removal Tool, an ActiveX control that removes spyware from infected Windows computers -- providing integrated gateway and desktop spyware protection.
