Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable, with no captive portals, that is simple, and quick to install What is our primary use case? At home, I use it for myself. There are no captive portals or anything like that, only wireless access. Only wifi. What is most valuable? It functions properly and includes centralized management for access points and switches. What needs improvement? They have access points that are in the firewalls, and I believe the firewalls could be significantly better. They use the USG firewall, which I believe is a poor device. VPNs for example, it is really bad, it is difficult to configure, and I don't like them at all. For how long have I used the solution? I have been working with Ubiquiti Wireless for two or three years. I am not working with the latest version. I try to update to the latest version once in a while. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Ubiquiti Wireless is very stable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? I have not yet experimented with the scalability of Ubiquiti Wireless. I am using it at home. How are customer service and support? I have not contacted technical support. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I have worked with Cisco Routers. For testing, and learning purposes, I have been using CentOS, which is now Almal Linux or Rocky Linux. I have also worked with Sophos and Bitdefender. I have used Mikro Tik. How was the initial setup? It is quite easy to set up. It most likely took me an hour. What about the implementation team? I watched some Youtube videos. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? There is no licensing fee required. I think the price is okay for the product, but the price could always be cheaper. Which other solutions did I evaluate? I work as a system engineer and research solutions at home. I switched to a different product after a few years. What other advice do I have? Three years ago, I would have, but things have since shifted a bit. I prefer to have everything at home. Ubiquiti requires a cloud account now, which I don't like, therefore I wouldn't recommend it at this time. I would rate Ubiquiti Wireless an eight out of ten. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to set up with good documentation and very reasonable pricing What is our primary use case? We use the product for site-to-site connectivity. What is most valuable? I'm using wireless radios. There are features like wireless bridging that are quite useful. We're using wireless bridging. That's the primary purpose as to why we have the equipment. They are reliable in terms of wireless connectivity. The initial setup is easy. What needs improvement? The availability could be better. Currently, the equipment is always out of stock due to the amount they're pricing. It's quite cheap, so people want to buy it. Their stock is a bit low compared to others, making it difficult to purchase. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using the solution for ten years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The stability is very good. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. We find it reliable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? In terms of scalability, I cannot say at this time how it is. If it is a very small one, it may have one or two points only. We only have maybe three to four antennas. That's not very much. I cannot grade scalability with such a small deployment. We have 20 users at a maximum on this product. They are all in operations. The engineering department doesn't use it that much. In the advent of fiber, it's unlikely we will increase usage. How are customer service and support? I don't find technical support very useful. I usually use forums or community support. I haven't tried to call technical support in the past. You just need to read the manual. For some concerns that are not seen in the manual, I go to the forums. The only time I would like to go to support is if there is a feature maybe that doesn't exist in the system. Currently, I am not into those things, so I'm only currently using the current features of their package. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I have Ubiquiti Wireless, MikroTik Wireless, and MikroTik Wired. The only brand we have considered for this particular purpose was Ubiquiti since all others are very expensive brands. For our use case, we cannot afford to implement expensive antennas as it's difficult to afford for purchasing, How was the initial setup? The initial setup is easy. The complete deployment took one week. We have three people involved in the deployment and maintenance. What was our ROI? I noted an ROI after five years. You can use the equipment for five years without any problems before you need to replace anything. Or, if an incident occurs that you can't control - like calamities or lightning strikes that really damage the dish. That's the only time you have to have problems. They last a long period of time. Your return investment is good for the price they give. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The pricing is very, very reasonable. It was quite cheap. We buy them outright. There is no licensing. Support is not included with that, as the equipment itself is already usable as it is. Which other solutions did I evaluate? I was looking into Cambium. I was trying to see how much the difference in prices were. Since it was a very big jump in price, I know I could not justify its purchase for the capacity that we only have. What other advice do I have? We use a mixture of versions. We're constantly upgrading, so there is some old equipment and new equipment. I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Equipment manageable from a single interface; no limits to scalability What is our primary use case? We have Ubiquiti Wireless units in retirement communities, specifically in outdoor parks and then in each home. We also have them for guest access in the hotels, so throughout the building, in the rooms, in the hallways, and in the public areas. How has it helped my organization? We replaced probably eight or 10-year-old technology for our clients with Ubiquiti Wireless, so it has made their internet connection work much better, with faster throughput, and given them more bandwidth. What is most valuable? What I find the most valuable is that all of the equipment talks to each other, so we can manage it from one single interface. I also find valuable the fact that the access points mesh together to provide redundancy in addition to the wired connectivity. What needs improvement? The network setup could be a little easier and more straightforward. For how long have I used the solution? I have worked with Ubiquiti Wireless for probably three to four years. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Ubiquiti Wireless is very scalable. I don't know that there's a limit to scalability. We just add more data switches to power more access points. We haven't come across a situation where it can't handle the Ubiquiti equipment. It's mostly used by guests or property owners. Management accesses the wireless network as well, but they don't have any role in managing it or maintaining it. We do all that. So, it's really just internet access for guests and homeowners. The people doing the installation are basically just connecting the wires to the access points and mounting the access points. I think we had two installers and then one engineer that's just managing everything; they're logged into the interface and adopting the access points and setting up the network control. How are customer service and support? No tech support is perfect, but their response time could be better. However, they are very knowledgeable once they start working on any technical issue that we are having. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We did not previously use anything else. When we started with these opportunities, we evaluated other products, and this had the best price and performance. So, we went with this from day one. How was the initial setup? We are certified and took Ubiquiti's training, which was a five-day training class. Deployment is fairly straightforward for us thanks to the training that we have had. What about the implementation team? We did our deployment in-house. Everything's been solid since we installed it. No issues with the equipment. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? There are no licensing fees. Which other solutions did I evaluate? That is not a question I can answer. My engineer did most of that legwork. What other advice do I have? The advice I would give to others looking into implementing this product is this: go get trained and receive their certification first. You can use the product without training but to implement it, you've got to know where and which access points and which RF technology is involved. On a scale of one to 10, with one as the worst and 10 as the best, I would give Ubiquiti Wireless an eight. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to set up and maintain, and simple to configure What is our primary use case? We're an educational institution and use this solution for our staff and classrooms. We are customers of Ubiquiti. What is most valuable? This product is great because it's easy to set up and maintain. It's simple to configure and simple making changes to the configuration. Being cloud-based makes it all a lot easier. What needs improvement? I'd like to be able to see error logs more easily and get a direct link to where the problem may be. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is stable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The solution is scalable. We recently added more access points and they integrated into the system very smoothly. We have over 1,200 users. We have a maintenance department of three network administrators who deal with Ubiquiti and any other tech matters. How are customer service and support? We have a local vendor who helped with the installation so we didn't need to go to Ubiquiti directly. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is straightforward. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? There is no license for this product, it's a one-off outright purchase. What other advice do I have? I enjoy using this product and rate it 10 out of 10. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've never had any of my installations go down due to product failure What is most valuable? The most valuable aspect of Ubiquiti is the ease of setup. It's easy to set up, secure, and use. It works on an adoption basis. I can pull the system up, design a network, and pull 20 different Ubiquiti units into it. It depends on whether you're setting up separate VLANs or whatever, but let's assume a normal scenario with a standard network. You pull all the systems into it and adopt them all, then Ubiquiti incorporates the system into whatever structure you want. What needs improvement? Ubiquiti could develop a more elaborate firewall solution. Their firewall solutions at the moment are entry-level. Maybe they don't want to bring those products in because many people prefer putting a third-party firewall into a solution like that. We usually do. We use Untangle, but the big question at the end of the day is which market they want to target. They're offering an entry-level firewall product, but if they improved, they could aspire to the higher end and maybe take on the likes of FortiGate and Untangle. Sophos has a complete end-to-end solution with a high-end firewall and AP. Ubiquiti should approach things like Sophos and make a more comprehensive product. It would be so nice to integrate an end-to-end solution that gives you control over your network. I could set everything up and see it all on the same protocol, roll-out, setup, etc. They could maybe also make their setup software a little more user-friendly. I don't know if they can improve it much, but they could make it more accessible specifically to first-time users. When you're just starting out, you might not understand you need to download the software and have certain configurations in your web browser to link to it. They could do away with that, but I'm not sure how much of a security impact it's going to have. For how long have I used the solution? I've used Ubiquiti for five or six years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Ubiquiti is extremely stable. Aside from maybe user issues and that kind of thing, I've never had any of my Ubiquiti installations go down due to product failure. I've never had an AP or switch fail on me. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Ubiquiti is highly scalable. I've seen Ubiquiti rolled out in massive setups and huge buildings. I know companies that run large warehouses, manufacturing, etc., and their whole backend infrastructure is Ubiquiti. They are pleased with it. They function as well as Cisco core switching. Sometimes it just depends on the scenario, but from a scalability point of view, all Ubiquiti products work together. I can mix old Ubiquiti access points, LR units, etc., with new Ubiquiti products. More recently, they've done things like Nano and Wifi 6. You can't mix the Wifi setups, but that's a technology issue, not a product issue. That allows a lot of scalability. Most of them don't reach layer 3 level on their standard switches, but most are layer 2. You have edge switching and layer 2. It's rudimentary networking. How are customer service and support? We work with local Ubiquiti support, which has been excellent. I would rate them eight out of 10. How was the initial setup? It's a fairly easy setup even if you don't know Ubiquiti and it's your first time. You follow the instructions. Compared to something like NewCitrix, Ubiquiti is a million times easier to set up. So I think Ubiquity would be for a normal IT guy and whatever, Ubiquiti would be an easy setup where, specifically guys like that, that have to set up NewCitrix, you have to learn how NewCitrix works and then run with it like that. But from initial setup, I find Ubiquiti extremely easy to set up. Ubiquiti is on-prem, but it has a cloud-based deployment and management system. You connect it to the system and do your setup as soon as you've done your setup, and you basically finalize your system, then you can take that cloud link away. Your system runs without it. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? All the vendors' prices have gone up, so Ubiquiti has gotten more expensive. In terms of price versus performance, they're still well priced, but they are more expensive than entry-level products like Tenda and TP-Link. At the same time, it's still affordable enough for a home user. We do a lot of homes sometimes. So, a home user that has the money, that wants the reliability and whatever, I would put UniFi in their house before I would put in Tenda or a lower end product. In that respect, I definitely think Ubiquiti is very well priced, so I would give them easily a four out of five on pricing. From a price perspective, compared to Cisco, where you could put one AP down for Cisco, and get a lot of users, a lot of security and everything like that. For the same price, you can put down three Ubiquiti's and those three Ubiquiti's can do what the one Cisco unit could do. What other advice do I have? I rate Ubiquiti Wireless eight out of 10. I would definitely recommend Ubiquiti to others unless it's a scenario where you have a massive deployment or the client has an existing Netgear, HPE, or Aruba setup. Their products are durable and easy to use. Ubiquiti fits into that mid-market segment. Ubiquiti slots in below Aruba, Cisco, and all those heavy-duty systems, but it's still a robust product. In most cases, I'd suggest Ubiquiti over and above your bigger names like Cisco, Netgear, etc. It's definitely a cut above things like TP-Link and Tenda. It has its own market share right there in the middle When you're managing more units, it helps to have handover and the capacity to switch between multiple inputs and outputs. Ubiquiti handles that well. Obviously, when you have hectic layer 3 networks and huge roll-outs, HPE and all of those other big names are more appropriate products. However, Ubquiti is the most reliable product in 80 percent of general use cases. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from An easy to configure and scalable solution What is our primary use case? The solution has an easy configuration. We use this solution for showcases at our organization. We use it in the case of UB-KIT for guests and production for the wireless WLAN segment. What is most valuable? The most valuable features are the double PA in 802.1X authentication and the radio server. What needs improvement? The mesh configuration and WiFi 6 coverage should be improved. For how long have I used the solution? We have been using this solution for two years on private and on-premises. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is a stable solution. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It is a scalable solution. We have approximately 15 users using this solution in private and 12 or 13 on guess connection. There are three people responsible for maintenance. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We used Cisco Meraki and Aruba in the past and switched to Ubiquiti because it has a better configuration. How was the initial setup? The installation took two days to complete. It was complex to install because of the radio server authentication and integration with the active directory. What about the implementation team? We did not use a third party to install it, and we completed it ourselves. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Ubiquiti Wireless is not expensive. What other advice do I have? I rate this solution a ten out of ten. Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to set up and reliable with a great mesh system What is our primary use case? This solution is widely used in Iraq. We primarily use the solution as an access point for hotels. If you want to install a wireless system, you use the products called Unifi access points, and it has a couple of models, like the UAP-AC-LR and a UAP-AC-Pro. This is for making a system for wireless setups for hotels, hospitals, and universities. What is most valuable? The mesh system is great. It enables you to have only one signal for the whole building. For the Mesh system, they have made a new product called Cloud Key, which enables you to keep control of the system. It might be called d the Unifi Cloud Key Gen2. It allows you to control the Mesh system access points remotely, without being connected to the same network. It's simple to use. The setup is quite simple. It is stable. What needs improvement? The Unifi controller software has a small issue. When you install it on one PC, it will be stuck to the same PC. You have to reset the wifi access point to access it from another computer. We suffer from this issue all around Iraq. If you want in the future to add some features to the access point from another PC, you cannot. You have to make a reset, a hardware reset to the device, and then install the software again. This is very annoying. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using the solution since 2012. I've used it for almost ten years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is quite stable, however, it's not as stable as Cisco. Generally, there are no bugs or glitches and it doesn't crash or freeze. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The solution is scalable. It's very widely used in Iraq. Around 80% of people here use Ubiquiti. How are customer service and support? We do the maintenance and support, but I haven't called them directly. I haven't even called the leading supplier directly. If I have problem, I access the forums, and they tend to publish a solution that can solve the issue. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We've also used Cisco. When you go for wireless systems, typically you look at Cisco, however, it's expensive. If you can't afford Cisco, you might look instead at Ubiquiti or Netgear. I've also used Ruckus in the past. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is quite simple. It's not too complex. The deployment time depends on the device. For the Mesh system, each access point will take around one to two minutes. It will auto-set the device once it's connected to the network. Generally, it's pretty quick, however, if you have a bigger environment, it takes longer. The amount of technical staff needed to maintain the solution depends on the size of the company using it. For example, if you have a hotel with around 50 wifi access points, you need around two to three people to maintain it monthly. What about the implementation team? The solution can be handled in-house. We did it ourselves. Anyone with networking experience can handle the implementation. What was our ROI? I have yet to witness an ROI. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? There is no licensing cost. Once you purchase the hardware, you just use the product. It doesn't cost any more than that. What other advice do I have? I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to set up and good outdoor accessibility but does not penetrate rooms well indoors What is our primary use case? In the school area, we have deployed Ubiquiti Wireless. Each floor has four Ubiquiti Wireless solutions. We have indoor and outdoor solutions and it is used for long-distance communication. Indoors, the students rely on Ubiquiti Wireless for day-to-day academic activities, like classes, attending seminars, everything. We have deployed Ubiquiti Wireless in their applied building, and it has a controller also, a virtual machine controller. How has it helped my organization? Before the deployment of Ubiquiti, we were running local authentication mechanisms like WPA2 personal with the local wireless routers. We were not able to implement WPA2 enterprise authentication methods. After the implementation of Ubiquiti Wireless, we were able to implement this WPA2 model authentication with a username and password. It becomes more secure and students and staff can easily rely on it to meet their daily needs. What is most valuable? It has a radius authentication mechanism. In our enterprise authentication, our authentication type is radius 8.2.1X authentication. Ubiquiti is readily supporting that. We have a separate SSID with 8.2.1X authentication, and with Ubiquiti Wireless, we can spread it across all our buildings with the SSID network. The initial setup is simple. It is stable. Ubiquiti outdoor access points in particular, are really stable, and if there are no obstructions, Ubiquiti works well. What needs improvement? Ubiquiti requires more improvement in wireless penetration. It has significantly less penetration in indoor devices. When it comes to indoor devices, Ubiquiti Wireless does not have penetration power, so when we deploy it in closed rooms, it fails to connect. This is one drawback that has to improve. When indoor access points failed to penetrate into rooms, we had to deploy single access points in each room, which seemed to be really costly. Still, when compared to Fortinet, it has an outdoor access point model also. The outdoor access point is relatively stable in comparison. The solution needs to offer more scalability. It does not have traffic shaping or traffic policies in its wireless requirements. We have to completely depend on an additional firewall for traffic shaping and policies. For how long have I used the solution? We've been using the solution for six years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is a stable solution. It's reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It is not very scalable. We have six networking people using the solution. We are not planning to increase Ubiquiti as we don't have good feedback regarding Ubiquiti Wireless. How are customer service and support? Technical support is good. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We have a mix of Ruckus Wireless, Ubiquiti Wireless, Jenkins Wireless, et cetera. We are also using Fortinet APS for Access Points. We had a lot of issues with Fortinet regarding connectivity, stability, and everything. We tried to move to Ubiquiti, which was actually somewhat stable. We tried it out in our one building and when compared to Fortinet, it had a slightly higher advantage, however, still, we had issues with the penetration power. We are planning to migrate more to Ruckus and Aruba. How was the initial setup? The solution is very easy to set up. It is not overly complex. It's fast to deploy and only takes two to three hours. We have six people that handle deployment and maintenance. What about the implementation team? We handled the deployment in-house. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I cannot recall the exact pricing. However, my understanding is that the pricing is very good. What other advice do I have? We are a customer and end-user. We're using the latest version and have updated it. Ubiquiti Wireless is an access point wireless solution. However, I would suggest it more for outdoor use. For outdoor devices, if you deploy Ubiquiti, then you'll get the proper signal and coverage. If you are in a building, or any other premises that have obstructions or hard walls, then I would suggest not using Ubiquiti Wireless. It has less penetrating power. It will not come inside rooms. I'd rate the solution six out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to deploy and offers great pricing but upgrades happen too often What is our primary use case? We primarily use the solution for a wireless connection for our hotel and resort. What is most valuable? The solution offers good management. The maintenance of the product is very simple and straightforward. It's very easy to deploy. You can see everything on one dashboard. The product can scale well. We have found the solution to be pretty cheap. What needs improvement? The product makes upgrades too often. They are always changing things. It can be hard to keep up. We'd like them to improve aspects of device management. For us, for example, some of the access points are managed by a Ubiquiti controller, and others are managed by an AirMax controller. For how long have I used the solution? We've used the solution for six or seven years. We've ended up staying with it for a long time. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Some solutions are stable. Others are not. Maybe we don't use the right ones and we have to change them and put them in the right place. It's possible we are using non-appropriate devices. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The solution is scalable. It can expand well. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I've only used this solution. I've never used, for example, Cisco or Aruba. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The solution offers pretty good pricing. they aren't expensive. I'd rate the cost at a four out of five in terms of value for money. What other advice do I have? I'd rate the solution a seven out of ten. We are mostly satisfied with the product. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A solution with a decent portal but needs a more enterprise feel What is our primary use case? The solution is deployed primarily on cloud. What is most valuable? Compared to industry standard brands that are used, it doesn't do anything better than any of them. However, it has a decent portal, and it is usable. What needs improvement? The solution needs a more enterprise feel of the product, and everything needs to be professionally done. Additionally, technical support and the stability of the product can be improved. For how long have I used the solution? We have been using the solution for approximately seven years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is stable but not as much as similar products. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The solution is scalable. Approximately one thousand people are connected to it. How are customer service and support? We have not had a good experience with customer service and support. They are virtually non-existent. How was the initial setup? The initial setup was easy and took approximately half a day. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The pricing is reasonable. What other advice do I have? I rate the solution five out of ten. Technical support and the stability of the product can be improved. Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's cheap and easy to use but isn't suitable for large deployments or complex use cases What is our primary use case? Ubiquiti is the primary wireless solution for my workplace, and we'll likely continue to use it for a while. With a few exceptions, Ubiquiti is the wireless hardware for the vast majority of our campuses. What is most valuable? Ubiquiti is intuitive. The management interface is user-friendly. You can easily make changes and do the things that need to be done. What needs improvement? Ubiquiti isn't as good for larger networks as any of the other wireless solutions. It lacks performance, coverage, and some of the advanced capabilities other solutions have. Take, for example, integration with FortiNAC. Cisco, HP, and the other big names can move devices from one wireless subnet to another with FortiNAC on the fly, but Ubiquiti cannot. When we connect them to this special network, I have to turn them off and on, disconnect them from the wireless, and then reconnect. Then, it can be put into the correct location, but that's it. It's a small thing, but it's noticeable, It's hard to describe it in terms an end user would understand, but on the back end, it lacks some of those capabilities. It's not a true large enterprise solution. They're fantastic for small and medium-sized businesses, especially for the price, and they perform well when needed. For my part, I would actually like to move to something more appropriate for the size of our network, but again, Ubiquiti is so cheap. For how long have I used the solution? I have used Ubiquiti for nearly two years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The stability is pretty good for the most part. Occasionally, I need to restart access points, and one might periodically forget how to pick up an IP address, so I have to fiddle with it. It isn't something that happens often, but it does come up. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? There are some limitations on scalability. It's a great solution for smaller networks. On larger networks, little things start stacking up after a little while. They haven't been terrible, but I don't feel like Ubiquiti is a true enterprise-level wireless solution. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The most valuable aspect of Ubiquiti is the price. Compared to competing solutions like Cisco Aironet, HP Aruba, ExtremeWireless, or Ruckus, Ubiquiti is the cheapest by far. It's not even close. That's their biggest selling point. Their latest model is the Enterprise 6, which can do Wifi 6. You can get that access point for $300, whereas the equivalent from Fortinet is closer to $800 or $900. Also, Ubiquiti access points are more readily available than other ones due to supply chain issues. Problems with the supply chain have forced me to make several different product changes because it might take six to eight months to procure some products. That's a challenge we're facing with other access points, such as Fortinet. If I were to buy a Fortinet access point, it might be half a year before I get it. Ubiquiti is available within a couple of weeks. What other advice do I have? I rate Ubiquiti Wireless seven out of 10. If you're considering Ubiquity, you should look at the scale and the scope of your deployment. Ubiquiti is a great solution for a small or medium-sized company if you're not trying to do really sophisticated networking. I've consulted for small clients where I think it would make sense. You actually see them a lot in hotel rooms. If you are looking to do more advanced wireless stuff or like network access control or wireless containment, and you're trying to control a larger network, you probably should go with one of the high-end solutions. Rated 5 out of 5 by from User-friendly with good pricing and a quick deployment What is our primary use case? We primarily use the solution for wireless connectivity. It's for mobile management. It can manage my switches and everything via mobile. What is most valuable? It is very user-friendly. The solution is very straightforward in comparison to other solutions. It's quite quick to deploy. The solution is stable. It is scalable. It offers very good pricing. What needs improvement? We'd like the solution to be more stable and have fewer firmware upgrades. More features should be available straight out of the box. It could be less complex and offer more simple principles. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using the solution for a year and a half. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It's very stable. It is reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. The performance is good. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? My understanding is the solution can scale. We have four or five people using the solution. It's just for home usage. How are customer service and support? I've never needed the help of technical support. I can't speak to how helpful or responsive they are. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We do not use any other solutions at this time. How was the initial setup? It is quite straightforward to set up the solution. It is not overly complex. The deployment was fast and took less than a day. What about the implementation team? The setup can be done in-house. There was no need to have any integrators or consultants involved. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The pricing is quite low and very affordable. I'm not sure of the exact cost. Which other solutions did I evaluate? I did not attempt to evaluate other options before beginning to use the solution. What other advice do I have? We have a mixed environment. The APIs are obviously on-prem, and all the management is in the cloud. I'm using the latest version of the solution. I'd recommend the solution to others. If you want a low-cost option, if you don't have the budget, I'd advise you go for Ubiquiti. I would rate the solution eight out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lacking stability, not suited for enterprises, but easy to configure What is our primary use case? We have approximately 60 branches and they all use access points, and they are controlled by one software controller in our headquarters. We use it only for normal Wi-Fi and guests. What is most valuable? The most valuable feature of Ubiquiti Wireless is the ease of configuration. What needs improvement? We have an issue with Ubiquiti Wireless every three to five months for one of the access points. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Ubiquiti Wireless for approximately seven years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The stability of Ubiquiti Wireless could improve. We have found there is too much fluctuation in the Wi-Fi and after two to three years you can notice the performance degradation. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Ubiquiti Wireless is scalable. However, the number of access points should be determined. When using Aruba ClearPass we discovered the controller is not talking to Aruba ClearPass, but every access point can communicate with the Aruba ClearPass. That means every access point is working alone but the controller only pushes the configuration to all access points. It is not really an access point controller. We have approximately 1,200 people using the solution. How are customer service and support? Ubiquiti Wireless does not have support directly, such as Cisco and Aruba do, you have to rely on community support. However, they do sell support for enterprise companies. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I have used Aruba previously. How was the initial setup? The initial setup of Ubiquiti Wireless is easy and the implementation can take up to several hours. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The price of Ubiquiti Wireless is affordable, we pay approximately $100 and $150 per access point. What other advice do I have? I would recommend this solution is best suited for small and medium businesses. Small businesses I would classify as 200 to 400 people using the solution. Aruba is a better solution. I rate Ubiquiti Wireless a five out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from You can almost do everything with Cisco products for a much better price with a significantly lower learning curve What is our primary use case? Some of our customers have a user base as high as 250. What is most valuable? Ubiquiti devices are centrally managed, and you can log into the access points via SSH. If the GUI isn't working for some reason, you can intervene via SSH. What needs improvement? It's difficult to get Ubiquiti hardware in Germany, which poses a problem because I urgently need some routers and other devices that we cannot acquire right now. Ubiquiti is also slow to adopt new technologies. We are transitioning to Wi-Fi 6, and there aren't many products. They have mostly Wi-Fi 5 products, but there are only two Wi-Fi 6 products. It's okay for places we have already equipped, but it's a bit hard for new places. Their gateway is good for people who lack an IT background and need to rely on a GUI. For example, they have a special gateway for that product group within the wireless devices. However, I find it to be restrictive. It's a dedicated gateway from the wireless to the internet. While the approach is clever, it would be helpful if it were more like their Edge devices. The product group known as Edge has two GUIs: one for the people without a technical background and another for advanced users. You can also use the command line interface. These devices don't have that approach. You only have the GUI. While the GUI has broad functionality, it still lacks the flexibility IT professionals need. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Ubiquiti for six or seven years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? We haven't had any problems. You even can handle a large number of access point users. You get good quality for the price. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Scalability is one reason we use Ubiquiti. It's easy to scale up because of the centralized administration approach. How are customer service and support? Ubiquiti has excellent internet forums, but there's hardly any support. You can email them, and they will respond quickly but you might not get the solution you need. However, it's relatively easy to get quick information about an issue because the open-source community supports Ubiquiti very well. The problem with their call centers is that they sometimes even don't know what they're talking about, and they are costly. You go to the internet if you have an issue, and you'll usually get your answer. Cisco has service plans that you don't get with Ubiquiti, but you pay a fair price for the hardware. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I've worked with Cisco. Cisco products always have issues you need to patch, and it's an old brand. Cisco can do everything, but you'll need to spend lots of money educating your staff. Anyone who can use Linux can handle Ubiquiti. While Cisco solutions are powerful, you need a Cisco-certified expert, and these guys are very expensive. You need to hire them or train your staff. Either way, it costs you a lot of money For me, Ubiquiti is the product of choice because of the flexibility it provides us. How was the initial setup? Setting up Ubiquity Wireless is simple, and when something doesn't work, you can intervene via SSH. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I rate Ubiquiti eight out of 10 for affordability. The hardware prices are the easy part. However, the costs of maintaining and operating the infrastructure can be expensive. By comparison, Netgear isn't as flexible as Ubiquiti. I can automate Ubiquiti on a large infrastructure because Ubiquiti devices run on Linux. I can write a Linux script that is executed on the devices, and quickly automate it. This is also possible with Cisco, but not Netgear. Netgear devices are common, but I always call them hobby devices. If you're just an ambitious hobby user, these devices are fine, but they are not for professionals. What other advice do I have? I rate Ubiquiti Wireless seven out of 10. These devices are suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises. If you use the Edge line of products, you need to understand protocols or networks, architectures, etc. They're perfect because you can almost do everything with Cisco products for a much better price with a significantly lower learning curve. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly reliable, easy setup, and scales well What is our primary use case? We are using Ubiquiti Wireless in our company when our invites or customers come into building and they want to connect their devices, such as notebooks and phones. How has it helped my organization? Using Ubiquiti Wireless has improved our customer service to customers. What is most valuable? We have not had an issue with Ubiquiti Wireless since we have been using it. The solution is highly reliable. What needs improvement? Ubiquiti Wireless could improve by being more user-friendly and easy to use. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Ubiquiti Wireless for approximately five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Ubiquiti Wireless is highly stable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? We have not had to scale Ubiquiti Wireless, but it would be easy if we decided to. We have approximately 70 connections to Ubiquiti Wireless. We have approximately 60 phones and 10 laptops and other additional devices connected. All our departments are using this solution, such as our electrical and mechanical departments. We are using Ubiquiti Wireless at half capacity in my company. In the future, we might increase usage, but this depends on if it is necessary. How are customer service and support? I have not used technical support for Ubiquiti Wireless. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We previously used an Apple Switch. How was the initial setup? The initial setup of Ubiquiti Wireless is easy. What about the implementation team? We did the deployment of Ubiquiti Wireless in-house. We have approximately six people for the implementation and maintenance of Ubiquiti Wireless. However, this team is not dedicated to this solution, they do all the IT work in the company. What was our ROI? We have received a return on investment, the purchase was a good investment. The solution has paid for itself. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I rate the price of Ubiquiti Wireless a three out of five. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We evaluated other solutions prior to choosing Ubiquiti Wireless. We took advice from a partner and choose Ubiquiti Wireless. What other advice do I have? The solution was easy to set up and it has been working well for our company. I would recommend it. I rate Ubiquiti Wireless a nine out of ten. Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to set up and manage and very user-friendly What is our primary use case? We primarily use it to provide wireless internet services or wireless network access to use in different organizations. What is most valuable? It's very easy to manage and it offers our enterprise grid WiFi management. It's quite rich in terms of statistics. You can manage wireless access points easily and upgrade them without having to log in to each device. I find it very user-friendly. You can see how many users are connected and so on, and you can be able to manage it quite easily through that. It's easy to set up. The solution is stable and scalable. What needs improvement? Being able to proactively alert users or admins either by email or text when there are issues would be ideal. That's something that would be nice to have. It would be ideal if they could increase the security on offer. For how long have I used the solution? I've used the solution for one year. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is mostly stable. there aren't any bugs or glitches. That said, you need to keep checking if there are any new updates. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It's very scalable. That's not a problem at all. We have 20 users on it right now. How are customer service and support? Technical support is via a portal, a new Ubiquiti community. I did reach out to them. It wasn't so friendly to talk to them directly. They are not as responsive as Sophos, however, their community is also quite large. I got help though. People who have posted similar questions in the past, and through the community, I get the answers for issues I've had. How would you rate customer service and support? Neutral How was the initial setup? The initial setup is very simple and straightforward. It's not overly difficult. The deployment took maybe an hour. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? It is reasonable in terms of cost. Considering the alternatives, it was much more reasonable in terms of cost. They have management software and that is free. However, you need what is called a controller device. If you want to have a standalone device to manage, that's about, say, around $150. That's a one-time cost. What other advice do I have? I'm a customer and end-user. I'm not sure which version I'm currently using. People should definitely use it. If you are looking to manage more than two access points, it's definitely good to use. You can manage all those access points from one interface. I'd rate the product nine out of ten. It makes it very easy to manage multiple access points at a reasonable cost. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Competitively priced, reliable for home use, and has a good monitoring feature, but its performance needs improvement in office use What is our primary use case? The reason why I ended up using Ubiquiti Wireless is because of having to work from home during the pandemic, and the kids were homeschooling. Those were the biggest reasons why I had to put wireless access points at home. What is most valuable? What I found most valuable in Ubiquiti Wireless is that it's priced competitively, compared to other brands available in the market. From a price competitiveness standpoint, it's a product I would recommend. I also find Ubiquiti Wireless quite reliable, at least for me using it as a home access point, it seems to serve its purpose. I also like that with Ubiquiti Wireless, you can build a very modular network, so you could change out your router to use a Ubiquiti router if you want to. The solution also has gateway equipment and all, so I like the modular concept of Ubiquiti Wireless. Another feature I find valuable in the solution is monitoring. It is pretty good. For example, as a home user, I have the unified app on my computer, so I'm able to watch how my APs are performing. What needs improvement? In terms of rooms for improvement, I'm a home user, so none of my APs are Wi-Fi 6. My APs are more of the older generation Wi-Fi, so right now with their Wi-Fi 6, Ubiquiti Wireless has better capabilities. Performance could be improved in the solution because when I compare it with Ruckus and other APs, some of those APs are better performing, so you don't have to deploy too many APs to get the same level of Wi-Fi coverage and stability. It's not about how many clients the solution can handle, but it is more about stability and coverage. Another room for improvement in Ubiquiti Wireless, compared to other brands, is that it doesn't do well when used in an office network. It has a limitation on how reliable the AP of the system is. An additional feature I'd like to see in the next release of Ubiquiti Wireless is beamforming. It's a feature that a lot of APs have now, which helps with more stable performance and not needing too many APs to be deployed for the same level of coverage. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using Ubiquiti Wireless for close to two years now. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Ubiquiti Wireless has been stable, at least from my experience of using it at home. There wasn't much of an issue in terms of its stability. How are customer service and support? I didn't need to contact the technical support for Ubiquiti Wireless. How was the initial setup? The initial setup for Ubiquiti Wireless was pretty straightforward, and I did it myself. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Ubiquiti Wireless has reasonable pricing. Which other solutions did I evaluate? I evaluated Aruba, Cambium, and Meraki. What other advice do I have? I do have a couple of access points at home. The one that I'm using at home is from Ubiquiti: Ubiquiti Wireless, and it is on a private LAN. I'm rating Ubiquiti Wireless an eight for home use, and a seven for office use. For the product in general, my rating is seven out of ten. My advice to others looking into implementing Ubiquiti Wireless is that if you are new to networking and you're trying to get into understanding the modular network, equipment, and hardware, or if you're a novice just starting to improve your network at home, I would strongly recommend starting with Ubiquiti Wireless, because it's affordable and it's a bit user-friendly. If you think the solution meets your requirement, then you could probably stay with it, but if you think it's underperforming, then you can consider other brands. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inexpensive with good WiFi coverage and good reliability What is our primary use case? We primarily use the solution for small businesses. How has it helped my organization? We found the WiFi coverage good and it was easy for the company to set up. It continues to be stable as well. What is most valuable? They are our cheap solution. It's not overly expensive to use. They integrated well within our small business, which was required. It's a stable solution. We don't have any issues when it comes to running a standard deployment. The coverage of Wi-Fi is good. Overall, it's a straightforward solution. They do offer a lot of documentation. It's very cheap to replace, however, they last a while. If you want to buy one, it's no trouble. We've sold more than 500 and we maybe changed three wireless access points in five years. What needs improvement? Especially after the last year, we would prefer if there was an option to have complete cloud control and not local control. It's better to have something that's completely cloud-based. There isn't any technical support. There is only a forum where it is hard to get answers. If you buy one and you would like to extend the warranty, you don't have the possibility to extend the warranty. If the full warranty expires, if the Wi-Fi brakes, you must buy a new product. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using the solution for five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The stability is quite good. There are no bugs or glitches and it doesn't crash or freeze it is reliable. It's been issue-free. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The product can scale. How are customer service and support? Technical support is non-existent. They have only a forum where you can ask other people or maybe technician questions. However, usually, when we post an issue, we never get an answer Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We've used many different solutions in the past and really like Ubiquiti. Our clients have used Fortinet and Meraki, however, those are best suited for larger enterprises. How was the initial setup? The solution is very easy to set up. We basically just propose the solution and the client will look at the price and agree to it or not. If they do, we install it. that's our basic implementation strategy. You can deploy the product in about two hours. You only need one person to deploy it. It's not labor-intensive. Depending on the customer, we may have only one site or maybe multiple sites where we need to deploy the solution with one controller. Some customers have only one site, and others might have ten. All the sites may be interconnected by a VPN. What about the implementation team? We are able to install the solution ourselves. What was our ROI? I'm not sure if the customer has seen an exact ROI. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The price of the product is reasonable. While I can't speak to the exact pricing, it is quite inexpensive. You don't need a license. You simply buy and install the device. For €100, you have Wi-Fi and you don't have to worry about a license. For the customer, it is a good solution. With Meraki, for example, you must buy the product, you must buy the license, and you have a license with an annual commitment or a pluriannual commitment. Clients must pay every time. With Ubiquiti, you buy the device, similar to what you would install at home, and you don't need to worry about anything else. What other advice do I have? We are a customer and an integrator. It's my understanding that we are using the latest solution, based on the firmware that they released. It's got a pretty low learning curve. You might only need one day to have a look at it and understand everything. I'd rate it eight out of ten. It's pretty great for small businesses, however, to take it to the next level, a large company likely will need to acquire it. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to use and easy to set up but needs better stability What is our primary use case? We're primarily using the solution for WiFi access. It provides us with an access point for the network. The devices are controlled by a controller, and we can apply security policies via our network. This can help control end-users. What is most valuable? The solution is very simple. The facility of the integration is great. It allows us to offer policy control. The solution works very well. It's easy to set up. What needs improvement? Sometimes we have some micro breaks we do not know what causes them. Maybe it is based on the monitoring of the network, or maybe it is the architecture or the integration of the equipment. The stability could be improved. For how long have I used the solution? I've used the solution for a while. I'm not sure how long we've used it. It has likely been five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution can be more stable. We have had some issues with micro-breaks which have affected connectivity. I'd rate the stability six out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It is a really scalable solution. We have around 100 end-users. Maybe 20 are using the network, with the rest on wireless. How are customer service and support? We've never dealt with technical support in the past. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We did have an experience with Linksys. However, it was not a good solution. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is simple to set up. I did not take part in the process. However, I haven't heard of any issues. It takes about one hour to deploy and connect a node. It might take a month to set up a full network. We have ten staff, including managers, that can assist with the deployment and maintenance. What about the implementation team? The operational team handles the setup. It's handled in-house. What was our ROI? We are a small enterprise. We do not look at ROI. That said, most are working five years later. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? We do not have a license. We just pay for the solution. What other advice do I have? We are using the latest version as we always upgrade the firmware. I'd recommend the solution. I'd rate the solution seven out of ten. Rated 5 out of 5 by from User experience is solid as is roaming What is our primary use case? Our primary use case for this solution is for access points for internet services for our clients and the devices they have on them. What is most valuable? I would say that the user experience is pretty good in this solution as well as the roaming solution part of it. What needs improvement? I would like to see this solution have any kind of captive portal on the tool or user accounting tool. This would be quite useful for companies. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using this solution for about two years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? My impression of the stability of this solution is that it's really good as we don't have any issues with it. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? My impression is that this solution is scalable. There are about 400 users of this solution in our company. How was the initial setup? My impression is that the initial setup process is straightforward. It took about one week to complete the deployment. I think there is one person involved in the deployment and maintenance of this solution. What about the implementation team? Our IT management team did the deployment. What other advice do I have? I would recommend this solution to other people as it's a good solution. I would also advise them that if they have voice services and they want to have it connected everywhere in their building, this tool is for them as it's quite good on roaming and has a good quality for voice and pictures in live streams. I would rate this solution a nine, on a scale from one to 10, with one being the worst and 10 being the best. Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good visibility, easy to deploy, and reliable What is our primary use case? I primarily use the solution within small networks. How has it helped my organization? It's really helped with network management. What is most valuable? The visibility of the devices and the switches is great. If troubleshooting issues come up, it's easy to deal with things. We like that there's one pane of glass that we can look at everything through. The ease of deployment is great. It is stable. The solution can scale. It offers fair pricing. What needs improvement? The accessibility to technical support could be better. We'd like to actually speak to a person without going through chat. We'd like real-time assistance when we are trying to resolve issues. With our configurations, the UX could be better. With Cisco, for example, there are certain things you can do that you just can't do on Ubiquiti. We'd like to be able to use COmmand Line instead of the UI. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using the solution for five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? I'd rate the solution eight or nine out of ten in terms of stability. It is stable and reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? This is a scalable solution. I'd rate its ability to scale eight or nine out of ten. How are customer service and support? Technical support needs to be better. They need to be more responsive and easier to reach, especially when we need to speak with someone for troubleshooting. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is very simple. It is not overly complex. What was our ROI? I have witnessed an ROI. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The pricing is pretty good. It is reasonable. What other advice do I have? We may use the latest version of the solution. It depends on the client's deployment. I'd advise people to do their research and have a good understanding of the product. I'd rate the solution seven out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Hybrid Cloud Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good delivery times and stable performance What is our primary use case? Ubiquiti wireless is quite good for us, especially in terms of price and functionality. We often provide maintenance services to companies for their internal land areas, and we rent or sell access points to them for Wi-Fi access. Additionally, we provide support for their internal network, which is why we use Ubiquiti access points. How has it helped my organization? We mostly use Ubiquiti solutions due to their affordable price. We sell to a lot of small businesses that only require basic Wi-Fi functionality in their offices or shops, and they don't need many features or management options. So we opt for Ubiquiti products. As for bigger projects and larger clients, we let them choose, and they sometimes go for products from vendors like Aruba. However, bigger companies usually make their own choice, and we are able to provide some vendors but not point them toward a specific system. What is most valuable? Three years ago, we were only selling Ubiquiti access points to small companies that needed only one access point. They had issues with having more than one access point at the time. However, in the past year, we have been selling more and more Ubiquiti access points because those issues have been resolved, and we can now provide more than one access point. It is due to management improvements or some features currently working together correctly in the office. Therefore, the most valuable feature is more access points. In the past, getting access points delivered and purchased was quite difficult. One of the options was to use Ubiquiti, which was much easier to obtain than Aruba, which took longer to get access points. What needs improvement? We use a program that creates heat maps for our customers. I'm not sure if Ubiquiti has some features like that, but sometimes we only have a floor plan of the office and need to determine how many access points and which models to propose to the customer. In such cases, we use those programs from other vendors. We provide managed services, rent out the equipment and take care of the internal network support. Central monitoring is the main functionality that should be included in the product we offer to bigger customers. It could improve the quality of implementation, help in integration, and provide better metrics. For how long have I used the solution? I've been working with Ubiquiti wireless for about two years now. What do I think about the stability of the solution? We have not had many problems with our existing customers who use it extensively. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Currently, Ubiquiti has no issues with scalability, so there are no problems in scaling that network and the conference off. How was the initial setup? We haven't had any problems with deployment. What about the implementation team? Our team is experienced in networking. Most of our customers already have existing cloud solutions and products with us. Sometimes we know about their network and switches and provide Internet for them, so it's quite easy. It's just configuring the access point, sometimes at our or the customer's office, and then mounting them under the ceiling or wherever the company wants them. Our team does the hard work of mounting the access points. We haven't heard of any problems with deployment. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Ubiquiti is one of the cheaper options among its competitors. The company usually does not have much product information when it chooses the vendor. And others choose the solutions, like HP and others, because these solutions have a stronger brand in the market. Whereas, we have compared with the other providers in our market. And for small businesses, the first option is to choose less expensive products. So, of course, the biggest products we're selling are because of the low price. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We had some issues a few years ago. That's why we were selling only to those customers who needed only one access point, such as small shops or offices with ten people. Now, we don't have any problems. We need to provide one vendor access point, and we have some issues with customers with another vendor, like Ruckus. We used to work a lot with Ruckus vendor access points, but we're buying fewer now because they have bad delivery times. If we want to buy a new one and have many customers who now have Ruckus, we have difficulties getting a new one or changing it. We are thinking about changing all the office access points to Ubiquiti. What other advice do I have? Currently, I see the best value for price in the market regarding Ubiquiti wireless. Also, the delivery time is quite good, and we haven't had any problems. We are using a few models like Long Range, Pro, Wi-Fi 6, NeoGen, and J2028, and they have everything that small and medium businesses need. So, I would recommend this solution to other people. Overall, I would rate the solution an eight out of ten. We are happy with the solution and increasing its usage.
