Tripp Lite's SMART1500 intelligent, line interactive UPS system protects servers, networking accessories and telecommunications equipment from blackouts, voltage fluctuations and transient surges. Large internal batteries offer 20 minutes half load runtime and 7 minutes at full load during power failures. 1500VA / 980 watt power handling capability supports a variety of networking, telecom and various other application types, including the support of multiple network workstations. Includes a total of 6 outlets, 1 of which can be individually powered on and off via software interface to selectively reboot remote equipment or to automatically shed less significant loads to extend battery runtime for more critical equipment. Supports remote monitoring of UPS and site power conditions via built-in USB and DB9 monitoring ports. Includes PowerAlert UPS monitoring and unattended shutdown software with complete cabling. Supports SNMP with optional SNMPWEBSOLO external adapter. Built-in audible alarm and 5 front panel LEDs indicate status of line power, battery power, battery low/replace, voltage regulation and load level. Wall mountable with UPSWM wall mount bracket. Network-grade AC surge suppression protects equipment from damage and performance problems resulting from transient surges. SMART 1500 Thumbs up!!
We run two SMART1500's. They were purchased to replace the "big name" competitor when their service was more interested in selling product than fixing the problems we had.
These units are plug 'n go. They report to any PC you choose. I have had these units for two years now, including through storm-related blackouts and they delivered as promised. We had ample warning and plenty of juice to shut down in an orderly fashion.
The customer service is amazing. They go the extra mile!

Tripplite makes a very nice line of UPSs.
We run three 1500s and two 700s. Installation was a snap. Battery replacement in once of our older units was fairly simple. The software is easy to download and install, and defaults to the appropriate shutdown settings. The software interface could be a bit more clear, and it would be nice if it could shut down more than one server.
All in all, I recommend Tripp-Lite completely.

The SMART1500 product battery lasted 3 years continuos service at a hotel.
The SMART1500 lasted 2 year and 11 months. The battery melted and it is out of shape and cannot be pulled out for replacement. It had been in continuous 24/7/365 service for past 3 years at a hotel.
