I wanted one that is sturdier than most. I like the fact that it is metal. I also like how tight the plugs fit into each plug. It is harder to plug in and to unplug but it feels safer. So far it has been Great to Use!

I thought my audio (vintage receiver, vintage speakers, high end CD player, sub) already sounded great, with no hum, interference, etc. Much to my delight, the Isobar4Ultra was like lifting a veil from the music. Bass is tighter and deeper. Highs are smoother. Cymbals have longer decay. Vocals are more present with more emotion. The sounds are more lively, airy and textured. There is more space around instruments. There is more of the "in the room with musicians" feel. Detail is higher without any hint of fatigue. It is simply more open and natural sounding. This is a great product for an audiophile on a budget.

It fits perfectly in the space needed and provides the additional outlets for metronome, and an extra light. I will still unplug the whole line when traveling for extended periods, but this gives peace of mind on a day-to-day basis. Glad it came in a color other than black. Product was good value for the protection offered (compared to other models out there).

I would have given it 5 stars, but I am a bit baffled why this unit was not designed to support 15 Amps instead of 12. The indicators are pleasant and of an appropriate brightness. We recently had a power company equipment related Brown Out in our area and also got hit with a power surge that completely burned out multiple surge protectors. I had 2 of these Isobar Surge Protectors on some expensive electronics and nothing was damaged. They were both functional but smelled like they had been on fire. I decided to replace them since they had done their job saved thousands of dollars worth of equipment.

We had a wind storm in January 2021 and a tree knocked down the high voltage power lines (13kV) up the road from us. Power was going on and off several times for a half an hour until it finally dropped out. You could actually hear the power arcing to ground and a blue glow for a quarter mile. The 6 outlet Isobar saved several thousand dollars of my computer equipment. The pcb board in my garage door open got blown out however. I replaced it and decided to protect it with a new Isobar 4 Outlet surge protector so I would never have this problem again. It has a high clamp rating of 3300 joules so you know whatever will be thrown at it that it can handle. It's cheap insurance versus the time and money to replace things.

We also get a lot of lightening strikes which cause outages and voltage spikes. I added a whole house surge protector as a primary protection. When I bought a new computer I ordered a Tripp-Lite Isobar due to its specs and previous experience with exactly the same unit, which protected against a massive surge. The unit was destroyed but the attached equipment was protected. I send in the fried unit and got another one under warranty. I consider the Isobar a smart purchase. Look inside one and see how it is made. Not filled with light weight parts, it has copper coils and heavy wiring.

Several of the new machines now have digital controls and displays along with variable speed motors and controls. The new machines are also much more expensive today than our purchase we made 20 years ago. As we were making some renovation upgrades to the laundry room with a new coat of paint & task lighting I did some research on protecting the new laundry machines from power surges and brown outs which can be harmful to digital components and electronic motors. The TRIPP-LITE surge protection outlets were getting very good reviews from industry testing companies and from people who purchased their products. So that is why I opted to make my purchase. Since the installation was completed we had one loss of power and one brown out event due to local storms. Both times the surge outlet protected the new components and both laundry machines continued proper operation after power was restored. I am pleased with the surge outlet performance and it was an inexpensive purchase compared to the cost of new laundry units.

There was a very windy day where the power was turning off and on quite rapidly, im no electrician, im not sure if that could have damaged my pc but it did not. I like the build quality and i appreciate the outlet plugs.

Metal housing is impervious to being crunched by furniture or crushed and cracked by being stepped on. Can take surge after surge after surge over the years. I just got mine replaced for free with no hassles -- after using it for over nine years. The diagnostics -- neutral/line fault and no-ground indicators are bright and easy to see. Most surge protectors don't have the line fault indicators, let alone a no-ground fault... without these, all surge suppressor -- regardless of price -- get turned into a cheap dollar store power strip.

With an ultra-low clamping voltage of 140, accommodation of large transformer-style plugs, fault light, 1400 output watts, 2 isolated filter banks, and 6-foot cord length, it gives me total peace-of-mind for my electronics (barring a direct lightning strike!). It's slightly more expensive than the run-of-the-mill cheapo plastic junk surge protectors you'll find all over Amazon or in Target, but it's worth the added expense.

I live in a area that has gotten a good amount of power surges and a few outages, and wanted to make sure I had a surge protector that would be enough for this equipment. I know the Isobar has been around for some time, as I remember seeing them around my grandparent's home when growing up. They're still in use today! I'm a fan of the industrial look and I love that they come with little outlet covers as well.

Also comes with plug covers, which i didnt expect and glad they came since i have a 2yr old that wants to be a Young Einstein ;-) -old movie reference. Anyhow, these have standoff mounting holes for a permanent install BUT i wish the standoffs had rubber feet too so i can have on wood floor without marring and dont slide. But furniture pads work well enough. Great product for tight areas.

The metal housing is sturdy and I was able to mount it to the wall with little difficulty. The warranty registration was a breeze online. I have a 30 amp regulated power supply plugged into it and powers several ham radios which can be finicky when it comes to surges in power. Time will tell but, as far as I know, Tripp-Lite has been around awhile and has a pretty good reputation. I don't think much of anything would stand up to a lightening strike but I guess that's where the Tripp-Lite insurance claim aspect comes into play. The only thing I would change is the way the outlets are configured in the housing. It arrived with the three pronged outlet ground side up. I would have preferred ground side down for my application. Minor detail.

The metal housing is quality constructed with the light switch for ON/OFF operation and the three light for easy viewing and detailed information of Protection is ON, Fault is ON/OFF and Line is wired OK. Also the joules are enough for spikes and surges. Best product out there to keep safe of our electronic devices being low end or high end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Workhorse! This surge suppressor has handled two backup/file servers and their monitors for the past four years. No issues at all. The box says "diagnostic surge suppressor" which I imagine is the reason it's handled so many lightning storms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No support. Don't honor warranty. Its broken. Worked for awhile and now it will not turn on. I contacted them for a warranty claim. No response. This is one of these companies that is too big for its own good. No customer service. I deal with them on a consumer level and from an industrial contracting level. Same experience either way.

I bought this for a small room heater as I just don't feel safe plugging it directly into the wall after a previous heater overheated. Love that it will trip if needed even though I don't leave it unattended. Will buy again this fall as I think I am going to steal this one from it's intended use this summer for my exercise machine!

Despite living right outside "the swamp" electricity is very prone to spike and many weather shut downs, according to what I read this highly recommended surge protector is a must. I/we shall see. Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this again. We were blowing the blue5ooth radio in our elliptical machine on a regular basis due to dirty power. Plugged it into this box an haven't had a single problem since. $60 investment to protect a $5,000 dollar machine wa well worth it.

Lo compre porque hace muchos años estoy experimentando problemas con mi lavadora que es electrónica. Desde que instale el Isobar 4 no he tenido más averías en mi lavadora, además que me sirve para conectar la secadora y otros enseres o herramientas. Se lo recomiendo a todos!

I researched and ultimately settled on the Tipp-Lite due to its high voltage surge protection and low pass-through voltage. I have not been disappointed with this purchase.

We recently went thru Three Large power surges up here in Northern Minnesota, the third one burned out many line insulators for several miles of road. All the protected units including my computer came thru with flying colors. Keep up the good quality!!!!

They all are protecting home theater, computer, and networking electronics. We have never had an issue with them and they have protected our equipment through some severe storms and lightning. These surge suppressors are well built (have weight to them); I trust their ability to protect our electronic equipment. I would recommend these Tripp Lite surge suppressors without hesitation.

Working perfectly so far. Plus points for providing plug inserts for added safety for those who will not be using all the outlets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've bought a number of these and they are still in service. It is used to protect any number of electrical appliances that have senstive electronic control panels. Examples such as air purifiers, audio and video equipment, medical devices, etc. Some of these have been in service for over as decade in a semi-rural environment prone to lightning and utility surges. None of this equipment has been disabled by electrical surges thus far. The robust constuction and monitoring function give positive reassurance that the Isobar Surge Protector is more than capable of fulfilling it's intended function.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value by far It's built like a tank, guaranteed for life, 50k connected equipment coverage, 330V peak clamping voltage, 40-80dB EMI/RFI filtering, 3,330 joules. Find any other brand with those specs for $50. It runs circles around anything else under $150. Closest thing is the AC-215A for 3x the cost. In 10 years I've had lightening hit my property 3 times. I've always just unplugged all my expensive stuff. But this will be nice for when it storms and I'm not home.

It seems legit heavy duty, it has a good length of cord so I can have tidy wire management, and the unused outlet covers are a nice bonus. Very happy so far. I'm only buying isobar for my equipment protection moving forward.

It did not resolve this issue but the Tripp-lite is a great product and I love that it has a lifetime warranty. I would definitely recommend Tripp-lite to family and friends.
