Tripp Lite's OMNI1500LCDT line-interactive tower UPS system offers voltage regulation, surge suppression and long lasting battery support for personal computers, network workstations, and home entertainment systems and media centers. Internal UPS circuits support entry level PCs or individual VCR/DVR components during power failures. It prevents data loss, viewing interruptions, lost recordings and loss of component programming. Automatic voltage regulation (AVR) circuits continuously regulate brownouts and over-voltages from 92 V to 150 V back to usable levels, all while maintaining a full battery charge. It offers complete power protection in an attractive all-black cabinet design.

Includes 10 built-in outlets, 5 with full battery backup and surge suppression for vital system components and another 5 with surge-suppression only for accessories not requiring battery support. Built-in USB port and included cable enables optional unattended system shutdown without data loss in case of extended power failure. PowerAlert software is available via free download from www.tripplite.com. HID-compliant USB interface also enables integration with built-in power management and auto shutdown features of Windows and Mac OS X. Built-in surge dataline surge suppression jacks protect equipment with single-line dialup/DSL or network Ethernet connection. My old unit from the leading competitor was UGLY, this unit looks quite smart and svelte by comparison. Apears to be able to handle a pretty heavy load, but we'll have to wait for an actual outage for the REAL test... As a proud Chicagoan, I like the company is headquartered right here! PS: I love that the leading competitor's actual name was flagged as "profanity" in my first attemp to post this! LoL!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cable protection causes problems. Nice design. I bought it beccause it had cable protection as well as 120v outlets. Connected the cable and ran it out thru a splitter to cable DVR and Cable modem. I got pixillated recordings on the DVR. When I unhooked the cable from the Omnismart the pixillation stopped. So that protection does not work for me.

The unit is working perfectly and saved me a couple of prints already. This is so frustrating to lose a print near the end just for a power loss of 2 seconds. I recommend this product !

When my RS 1200 voltage sensor went bad, I just felt like I needed to try a more modern UPS that could display my PC wattage pull and curiosity of trying a different brand UPS. I am happy with this OmniSmart version so far. No complaints other than the display background light. It's kinda on the bright side and just wish that I could turn it off during normal use and let it turn back on in case of an unusual event.

Sometimes I get them multiple times an hour! But with Tripplite UPSs at work I just hear the loud clicking of their circuitry doing the job! But not even a flicker of my laptop screen or any interruption of internet service happens! Because my two Tripplite UPSs have my back!

It's supporting a sim racing rig that has a fast computer, 3 monitors, driving sim gear such as direct drive wheel and load cell pedals, and only time will tell how it holds up. So take your 5 stars for what they're worth at this point, and ask me in 6 months!

It has more than enough outlets for my devices and is very much capable of handling high loads. Frankly, I could have got the same UPS with a lower Wattage. Either way, I highly recommend this unit.

The UPS stepped in and then went back to utility power without the PC ever knowing anything had happened. The UPS is next to the PC so I saw it all. It worked great!

I've used Tripp Lite for decades and they are durable and well-designed. The panel on the front allows for a lot of user interaction and customization, which I like.

I dont know exactly how long I had it. I replaced the batteries after maybe 5 years. Eventually it got F03 error. They recommend replacement forvthat error so I got another one. I think I got my money's worth out of it.

I love this new UPS and know that it will be with me for many years to come. It is set up in the my home office and I have 2 computers, a printer and the router plugged in. I also have the modem hooked up and the ethernet. I recommend never using anything but Tripp-lite

Seems so much more professional than the Amazon battery packs that keep letting me down. I'm an engineer in a Nuke plan, and Trip-Light is the brand we use for back-up and KVM, so I thought I'd spring the extra $$ and try one at home.

They don't recommend this and it causes the alarm to ring when using your printer. Just plug it in on the surge protection side and everything works great.

It will keep the system up and all doors locked when there is a power outage. The controller and locks do not draw a lot of current so the OmniSmart should keep the system running for about 4 hours. I like the display indicating the voltage, draw and the remaining backup time. I have used Tripp-Lite surge protection for years with great success and I have no doubt this unit will provide the same great serve.

The batteries only last about 3 years in most all of the products. The screen is easy to read. I luve in Florida and we are in the summer season and have frequent power outages. I use one to backup my internet service and I wanted the unit that would have substantially greater capacity than the ones I previously had. I am using the other two backup a TiVo system and again chose this for the same reason. I haven't had a power loss since I bought them but I expect them to be much more satisfactory than what I had before. The only problem is that I believe they will not turn themselves on if they shut off due to an extensive power loss. That is a design blunder.they should come back on when the power comes back on

I replaced the batteries and gave it to my son and I purchased the same model since I had such good luck. It gives me a good feeling of security knowing I can continue working during a power outage.

I purchased this to replace my ECO750UPS, after 5 years the battery gave out. Not bad considering it was only supposed to last 3 years. This model has a replaceable battery. Turns out the battery in the ECO750UPS is replaceable too. I've already tracked down the battery from Amazon, Tripp Lite didn't have it. Which was a little odd. I've got a LCR 2400 & Isobar 8 covering my home theater, and they make a noticeable difference. I've never had a Tripp Lite product fail, that's why I swear by Tripp Lite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly reliable hardware! (software, not so much) I have two of these. Each one provides clean power to a PC with two monitors, speakers, and printer. The TrippLite hardware works very well. I like the different displays on the UPS, I can see what percentage of available power my equipment draws. The only reason not to give five stars is the management software that comes with the UPS. TrippLite's software depends on an outdated version of Java, which breaks as soon as Java Updates come along. I have never managed to get TrippLite's "Power Alert" software to work on a Windows 10 PC.

My current system is the 3rd one I have owned over the past 20 or so years. Over that period of time I have had numerous power losses but my Tripp-Lite has always provided protection. The software that shuts my computers down works great and I have never lost any files or data.

I like the form factor and brand reputation of Tripp Lite - however the software could use some improvement. Having to jump to the web to see what's going on with the UPS is just silly and competitors have slicker applications. I think the hardware in this case is fine - but find the software lacking. If you're going to market these things to home users, you're going to have to dumb it down a little and give us something attractive and easy to use and understand.

I bout this current model for a different reason. Xcel Energy (in the summer with everyone's air conditioners running) does not keep up with the demand for electricity. I use Dish for TV and every afternoon the voltage drops down enough to trigger my Dish receiver to shutdown. If I am watching or recording Nascar etc. the system shuts down and has to reboot itself. This means I lose time (and the show that is on). I purchased my new UPS and hooked it to my Dish Receiver and "bingo" no more loss. The Receiver gets constant voltage and I LOVE IT! This will be the first summer that I have uninterrupted viewing.

One power strip feeds my WIFI SYSTEM AND ROUTER, an hp back up computer and three external hard drives. The second power strip feeds the desk, lighting, battery chargers, , small 6 can refrigerator, another power strip feeds two 25" flat screen TVS. Another power strip feeds Another main Hp desktop cots day 3 external memory hard drives, two USB AMPS, another power strip powers 2 vhs/dvd recorders, two Cdr player recorders and two maranta 2226 tuners another power strip powers 2 cd to Sony Ms player recorders. The load is only about an eighth of an inch on the load meter. I test it every Friday and the built in tester is awesome. Very pleased with this unit, I bought a second one for my bedroom CPAP machine. I highly recommend them both!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prime quality, fast shipping and great price A new heavy duty laser office printer, plugged directly into a standard wall outlet was tripping my computer that was plugged into another brand of UPS's battery backup outlet. That UPS was quite rugged but could not handle the line voltage drop that this new printer caused when first energized during startup. The Tripplite OmniSmart solved the problem and the LCD display showed the drop in line voltage. Everything is working like a charm to the point where I purchased a second identical UPS for another system. Wonderful price, fast shipping and a world famous brand; can't beat that combination

Replacing wasn't too difficult. And every time the power has gone out, this has saved my work by keeping my Desktop PC on and protected. Highly recommend!

This is my second Tripp-Lite in this size, the first is still going after 7 years. They seem to work well for protecting TV's, computers, routers, etc. Really handy for keeping the internet and tv's up during power outages which, during tornado season, can be a life saver.

The others discharge and ring all the time. Some generators provide too little current for some UPS's. I solved my problem with Tripp Lite

We live in a rather rural area and are seniors. It is vitality important that we maintain communication ability with emergency services and family. The computer is to be used for video and audio editing with SSD drives that I would not want damaged by power line problem or outages. I bought the Tripplite 1500 lcdt because it has very good reviews overall and the company has a long lasting, solid reputation. I needed a UPS for my computer and peripherals because my power goes out frequently. We are also coming up on Spring and I needed a good surge protector. I have been using this UPS for almost a month now and i can say that i am pleased with its performance and functionality. The only negative that i can give is the fact that the software "Power Alert" is not working on my Windows 10 computer. I want to access the software for the graceful shutdown feature that is part of this unit's appeal. I have been in contact with Tripplite customer service both over the phone and with email correspondence, and haven't been able to get my PC and the UPS to communicate. I don't understand why this unit isn't plug and play. Every single peripheral that I have plugged into my computer has worked without fail. This seems to be the exception. I'm not a programmer but I can see that their software and interface needs some major work. Apparently I'm not the only one with this problem, as I have seen many other reviewers with the same issue. Maybe Tripplite will address this issue in the future. To reiterate, I do like this unit very much, as it does what it was intended to do so far. Time will tell if it continues to do so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Maybe, price point is average. Used to support a small server on commercial power with no generator backup. Seems to work well. Number of outlets is commendable and perfect for small devices, 810 watts will not support support than one average workstation; the surge with no backup is nice for non-critical devices. No network monitoring, USB to local machine only which is not practical for a small server - monitoring software does not communicate over network either. I look for and find a UPS, another manufacturer, that will provide for IT concerns regardless of end user needs - I would buy this again, for a single home workstation - I would not buy this again for IT and infrastructure support. There are comparable devices that provide that without pinching IT budgets even tighter. I can not speak to any support experiences at this time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again. Produce is a good value and performs well. I would have given it 5 starts however I found the power alert console somewhat weak. I would have like an applet to run in the system try providing basic information and if I wanted, the applet would have allowed me to open the full application. This software requires JAVA (not a bad thing) and doesn't provide any means of continual management. When you initialize the app it opens a command window which then opens the applet. The command window stays open as long as the application stays running. I have found other manufactures apps more functional. But the UPS is a solid performer.

I purchased three of these. 1 for the media server, 1 for a 5 NAS units and the last one for my work station. They weathered the last two storms very nicely. I never ene got to the point of shutdown. I kept right on working.

While a true power outage usually also effects the internet, these will give you a few hours to finish up, save, and safely shut down computers, which we really appreciate.

What will tell is how many times I can change batteries before they die! So far, they have performed flawlessly through the last two storms. The power flickered but our PC's stayed up. So far I like what I have seen of these units and I would buy them again.

Software works well for Windows 2008 Enterprise Ed. but does not support automatic shutdown for Windows 2008 Standard Ed. Not surprised for these old systems. I like the constant-on-display so I can monitor power usage easily. My servers use between 120-180 watts of power so the UPS will provide runtime for 20-30 minutes based on the Tripp-Lite Estimated Runtime chart.

Although the software wasn't that important to me, it would of been nice if it worked. To be honest, it looked like it was coded a couple decades ago. Tripp Lite may consider improving the software development. Other than that, the UPS itself works fine, although when I was unpackaging from the box I could feel the batteries inside moving around...This was slightly concerning to me but everything seems to be OK. Not terribly concerning but they could at least secure the batteries inside...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meets my needs Does what I want it to do. The battery can be replaced when it fails and the manual includes instructions on how, so Tripp Lite obviously endorses it. I like the front panel read out. I like that I can see various statistics on the screen. I prefer to see the output wattage. Only complaints I have are that I don't think the display backlight can be disabled, that the display mode reverts back any time the power surges or goes out, and that the output wattage mode appears to just display 0w if the output wattage is under 100w.

If I'm 2 or 3 days into a 5 day print it's wasted time and money. I have to start over... This has already saved me time and frustration. and it will save money in the long run.

They are on my six desktop computers, monitors, TV and other AV equipment, and network equipment - modem, router, switches. I like: (1) that you can disable the audible alarm before it goes off - this is critical when you have 8 or 10 UPS. There is NO NEED to hear beeping from every one when the power is off. (2) the LCD display that STAYS ON (3) displaying the power that is being output in WATTS - although this resets to Voltage out (?) after a power outage. But that is an indicator there has been an outage. (4) the ability to monitor battery status with an adjacent computer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my home server! My area seems to get brownouts on a regular basis. My Tripp-Lite keeps my computer going through them and auto-shuts down the system if the power is out for more than two minutes. Saves me a big headache and I haven't found a downside to it yet.

As an Apple Specialist, I have sold many Tripp.Lite UPS's and found them to be the most reliable of the Prosumer batt backups. Well packaged, arrived early in perfect condition. Unit was already charged. (gave it a fresh overnight charge before connecting) Great screen with detailed information on status of unit. The 1500VA UPS should keep both iMacs up for approx 15-20min allowing for "orderly termination" time. Highly recommended!!
