Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product This product is great. I was considering running Ethernet cables to my bedrooms, where our WiFi signal is dismal, but instead decided to try a powerline network first. Boy am I glad I did - we get fast speeds to the rest of our home network. Setup was easy and The only drawback is that the unit blocks the outlet above if you're trying to use a 3-prong plug. But at least this unit passes through the power via an outlet, so you can at least plug in a power strip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was a lifesaver for me! I was iffy about going the Powerline route to extend my network from one end of my apartment to another, but I am glad I did. We do alot of streaming on our TV and plenty of gaming on our XBOX One. Even with a range extender I wasn't getting a solid connection to the TV and had alot of in-game LAG. I made the jump and purchased this kit. I have no regrets and I am glad I bought it. Now the TV and XBOX are hard wired from the adapter and have no issues streaming or gaming. I went from having 10-30Mbps wireless connections which wasn't constant to 170-195 constant wired connection. I may purchase a 5 port switch and add it to the adapter to enable an access point to cover the whole apartment with WiFi. Another plus which I have not done yet but may in the future is being able to add more adapters.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Power outage I bought this Item, and I started having power outages in my house, it happens intermittent, and the outages starting happening right after i connected the devices. i bought 2 pair. I like the way it works, it's fast, easy to connect. I did some research and this is also happening to other that have bought this Item. I would recommend it to a friend, if they didn't mind the power outages.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, saved me from wiring I intended to run a CAT-5 cable, but wanted to try this first (OK, I'm lazy). Setup was a snap as advertised, but had to move a few things around as the outlet above device would not allow a 3-prong plug; otherwise Great!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Powerline Starter Kit This is an excellent product to expand your home network especially in areas where you cannot run a physical Ethernet cable. This little device allows me to connect my PS4 with a cable instead of using WiFi and get great speeds and game play is without any issues. The build quality of the adapter is also great and doesn't feel cheap at all. Submitted as part of a free sample program

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works just as described. Cheap way to expand network. I gave this and a router to my girlfriend because she was having an issue with Verizon. It turned out it was just her cable but with this she was able to turn the bad signal was coming in, to a strong signal which powered the router I gave her to try out. It powered it so well, that she no longer has a problem with Netflix or Xbox One. I can't count how many times we sat on Netflix and it took a solid minute to reach 100% or wouldn't break past the 90s and just froze. We never really played Xbox together when I was over but she would constantly have party chat issues and drop internet connection when she played at her place and I was at mine. This dropping connection issue, no long happens. Were about to buy a house in PA and these devices are going to be a god send for us. The ability to turn one line and power a huge house will be great. I can put a 1gb line in my workout room in the basement (large unfinished or finished basement is a requirement for the house), and also have my office have it too. I expect the WiFi will be weak there but these landlines should be strong. I also love these for hotels. Thats how I previously used them. You can take unsecured internet and make it safe. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as fast as they say Purchased and used to connect Tivo system. I connected it to my computer and ran a network test. my speed is a dismal 1 to 3 mbps. i have 60 mbps internet. That is the best speed i have gotten with this device. I checked to see if needed a firm ware update. And even on the software from TPlink. the connection is bad. The speed is very low. They outlets are on the same side of the fuse panel and still no good connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As good as a direct connection! These are the first powerline adapters I have tried that give nearly ALL the bandwidth received at the modem on a direct connection. My tests ranged between 94%-100% of the total bandwidth from any of the power outlets I tried. I was very impressed with the results. Also, distance between the outlets made no real difference to the results! The biggest improvement over the previous generation is the HomePlug AV2 MIMO technology. The older generation powerline adapters only transmitted on the Line-Neutral pair on the powerline. These new powerline adapters can now transmit on any two pairs formed by the Line, Neutral or Ground wires (i.e., Line-Neutral, Line-Ground or NeutralGround). Setup couldn't be easier: 1. First, connect your TL-PA9020P to the router 2. Then, plug in another one wherever you need extra coverage 3. Finally, press the "Pair" button on each adapter What's great is there is no restriction on just two powerline adapters. All you need to do is plug in the additional "slave" adapters to where you intend to use them, and go through the pairing process again. While it's great that these adapters replace the outlet they take up by having a "pass-though" outlet, they do also block the outlet above. A word of caution, I found if you plug these into a power strip/extension cord, instead of directly to the wall, you will suffer from a lot of bandwidth loss. So it's best to plug it directly into the wall. Disclaimer: Submitted as part of a free sample program
