Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great Bought two of these units to get internet connection in my garage for tuning Harley motorcycles with ThunderMaxx ECM. Also for updates for Harley street tuners. Had to use two because of all the walls between router and garage as well as foil backed foam insulation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and effective range extender The TP-Link RE305 is a simple and effective solution to networking range issues. It is easy to setup thanks to TP-Link's great mobile app TP-Link Tether. This particular device also has an Intelligent Signal Indicator Light which makes setup easier than it's ever been. The led on the device will indicate whether it's in a good location or not (blue for a strong connection to the router, red for an area too far from the router). Once it's setup, it performs very well. One reason for this is likely the external antennas which always offer stronger coverage than much weaker internal antennas do. I had no dead zones in my home using tthis device. There's also an ethernet port if you prefer to have a device plugged directly into the range extender for a little less latency. As for the design, this is a nice looking range extender. Not too bulky considering how powerful it is and when you take into account it even has antennas, it's a rather compact size for what it is. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small unit, but good range The extender was simple to setup using the built in WPS. The unit allows you to extend your current 2.4GHz and 5GHz network (both at the same time) using your current SSID or you can configure a different SSID for the extender. The unit can also be used as a wireless bridge, but this functionality is limited by the single Ethernet port on the unit. All in all, this was a small simple extender that performed well in my environment. Submitted as part of a free sample program

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice compact extender This nice little extender helped me eliminate the dead spot in my home for my network. The dual-band feature is nice as I have a good amount of devices and 50% usually are on the 2.4Ghz and the other half on 5Ghz and this extender handled the traffic like a champ. Set up was super easy and the light indicator helped me find the best spot to place it in the house that didn't degrade the signal quality too much. Submitted as part of a free sample program

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Compact Wi-Fi extender Submitted as part of a free sample program. Although I received the item as part of the review program it is still a great product. It is super easy to setup and I like the small footprint of the device. I have a larger house where I don't get great Wi-Fi in some parts of the house and this has been a great addition to my network. I also like how it supports both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands for either simple web browsing or for gaming/HD streaming. The built in intelligent signal light helps you find the best location so you get optimal connection throughout the house. You can use TP-Link's free Tether app to setup the device in a matter of few minutes. The internet through out my house is stable and I haven't seen any hiccups in my network. The connection is fast wherever I am in the house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Performance in a Very Small Form Factor It's nice to see these Range Extenders (REs) getting smaller and smaller, without compromising on coverage or performance. In terms of design, this is where this RE really shines. To start, the Ethernet connection is at the bottom. I am not a big fan of side entry Ethernet ports, as it tends to bend the cable too much. The build quality is excellent, and it has a decent weight to it. Another aspect I really like is the RE doesn't block the top outlet. I included a picture to show this. A huge improvement over other RE's is the addition of the "Signal" indicator. This takes away the guess work from finding the ideal spot that is a significant distance from the Wi-Fi router, and yet not too far where it affects performance. A lot of this tended to be trial and error before, and running multiple speed tests each time. Having the "Signal" indicator gives me a visual aid on a suitable RE placement. Even though this RE is so small, I was impressed to see that it can also be used as an Access Point. This is very handy when you want to share your wired internet connection with your wireless devices in a hotel room, for example. I will definitely take this with me next time! Setup couldn't be easier. I used TP-Link's free Tether app (Android and IOS), and was up and running within minutes. This is a handy app, and works with most of TP-Links networking devices. In terms of performance, again I was pleasantly surprised considering the size of this RE! It performed as well as the slightly larger RE350. Coverage has been great, and all the Wi-Fi dead spots now have great coverage and great speeds! My only gripe is that the included Ethernet Port is Fast Ethernet instead of Gigabit Ethernet. This only matters when you use this as an AP, and you have an internet speed that is greater than 100Mbps. Disclaimer: Submitted as part of a free sample program.
