Rated 5 out of 5 byBorobret from Love it, with a few nits.Replaced my 8 year old Toshiba that has been a rock star. Love the lighted keyboard. Both the touch and it being lighted. There are two things not exactly thrilled with but ok. First off, when u close the top and the computer goes to sleep, you have to hit the power key....not just move the mouse. Second, there are times file explorer seems to freeze. Nothing really seems to be sucking uo the resources. Will see. I love the high def screen it came with. Overall, love the computer. Not a gamer so have not tried that side of things.

Rated 5 out of 5 byAZRangerBob from Just what I neededThis laptop replaces my Toshiba Protege which was damaged in a rainstorm. It gave me the chance to upgrade. The Tecra also has an i5 chip but is much faster according to online CPU Benchmarks with twice the cores. Another USB port is welcomed too. I needed the bigger screen, lighted keyboard is really nice in low light. I am glad this laptop uses the same docking station too. I like to keep my backup Hard Drives, Amp/speakers, ethernet cable, printer and large monitor plugged into the docking station. Heavier than my old smaller Protege but worth having the extra big screen. No complaints after a month of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 byWagstaff55 from Key features actually function well enough to be features.Unlike other laptops the important features actually work to the extent that they are features not hollow promises.For example the fingerprint sensor recognizes your finger within a wide practical range, you do not have to concentrate in order to precisely place your finger and hope it works.The touch pad also responds very well, it is not hyper sensitive.The human interface is excellent, as good as Apple at half the cost.Wife recently bought a laptop (the "L" word) and it can't hols a candle to the Toshiba Tecra.

Rated 5 out of 5 byTensandExes from Solid business laptopThis is my third Tecra laptop and I continue to be pleased with the overall value of the machine given its price and capabilities. Also, this is my first SSD laptop. It took me a while to get used to the idea of not having a spinning hard disk. Now, I see the value in a SSD platform. My wish list for the next generation of laptops would be a smear & dust resistant "gorilla glass" screen instead of a plastic lcd display. I'd pay more for having better clarity. Beyond that, I am happy the other features.
