Rated 5 out of 5 byAndy from Excellent LaptopI am very pleased with the Toshiba Tecra! It is extremely fast and runs multiple programs concurrently with ease. I was pleasantly surprised there was absolutely no junk programs or advertising pre-loaded. The backlit keyboard is a great feature. I would highly recommend the Tecra for everyday computing!

Rated 5 out of 5 byZipster from Nice machine, vey fastI like the solid state storage. I can carry it around while on without worrying about crashing a disk drive's head. Transferring files from my previous machine was so fast, it was done as soon as I let go of the folders. Nice display and options. It has 4 USB ports and the HDMI port is an improvement over VGA. The new battery lasts about 8 hours, though I know it won't last that way for very long. Very slim and light.

I used a Toshiba Satellite for the last several years and was quite happy with it so went back to Toshiba. I purchased a Toshiba a bit below this one and returned it because the track pad was horrible...and I use my track pad. The interface for me made it not worth keeping. Then decided to try Toshiba again and got this one. I don't like the feel of the keyboard (I have to pound the space bar), and I still hate the track pad....it's smoother, but it flips in and out so I'm constantly turning it back on, it jumps, resizes, etc. In short, it's just squirley as can be. Speed is fine, display is beautiful, but my ease in fingers to machine is just as important to me and it is lacking. I've ordered a track ball mouse that may work for the times I'm sitting on my bed wanting a functioning track pad. If it doesn't, I may be a previously committed Toshiba customer who walks away looking for something else. No problems with CDW as a supplier/shipper.

Rated 5 out of 5 byduders from Problems with very slow web surfingI think I must have received a laptop with a problem from the manufacture. I have a good ISP speed but pages loaded very slowly and sometimes took over 10 seconds to move between pages. TERRIBLE. CDW could not determine problem and recommended I call Toshiba. Toshiba said it was a "software" problem and would not fix it unless I paid $199.00 for an insurance plan. Absolutely would not pay anything for a problem with a brand new laptop so I contacted CDW and they immediately sent a prepaid return label and said they would refund total amount after receiving the laptop. I have always had good luck with Toshiba so I ordered a custom made laptop to my specifications through CDW and should receive within two weeks, at which time I will send this defective laptop back to them.
