Buttons almost unusable + hard to put case on phone
I just wanted a simple clear case for my new phone, and I liked a speck case that I had in the past, so I thought I'd try one again. The case looks nice but, unfortunately, it was extremely difficult to even put the case on the phone in the first place. The plastic is so hard & rigid that I could barely get the phone snap in past the curve in the plastic that holds the phone in. Even my boyfriend couldn't get it to fit. I eventually managed to shove it in there, but I'm super disappointed with the fact that the buttons are so hard to press that they're nearly unusable - I'm not sure if this will improve with pressing them more, but it's very frustrating to constantly accidentally turn my screen off from the force that I have to use trying to simply change the volume.

clear, strong case. would love it a teensy bit thinner, as this phone is pretty sturdy. but it's a classic, excellent Speck case.
One more note generally - the clear cases (from speck and elsewhere) are always just a little shiny on the edges when you are looking straight at the phone. If you prefer they be dull, I suggest a dark/black case instead of a clear one

Okay first of all, the case came to me with a bunch of dust inside of hit so I had to spend some time cleaning the case. The next thing is that this case literally feels like a bar of soap. Ive had clear cases from otterbox that fell great in the hand, can't say the same about this. Also the case isn't even clear, its cloudy and docent show the true color of the phone, and it still manages to pick up a bunch of scratches.

Nice and durable, but after cleaning ONE TIME with 80% alcohol sanitizer (because covid) the clear case is turning foggy/murky. This is disappointing because because the ads promised it would stay clear for a long time.

Great fitting case. Had a similar case on my IPhone 6 for 5 years. This case seems a bit more rigid and the side buttons require more pressure to activate. The buttons may soften up with more use. I also hope the clear material does less yellowing. All in all, a very good product.

I read the reviews and rolled the dice when I purchased this case. The case itself looks nice but the buttons are indeed very hard to push. When I am lowering or increasing the volume, when I want to restart my phone or take a screenshot, I have to push down very hard. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal when I read the reviews and decide to buy it anyway. I was wrong, it gets annoying especially bc I'm constantly adjusting my phone volume, whether I'm on a call or watching a video etc. I also got a regular speck case and am glad I did because that's the one I'm sticking with.

Overall, the case have great protection. However, my disappointment is the back of the case scratch easily because it doesn't have the grip when I laid my phone on the table facing up. And it slide so be careful. This case is better to laid the phone facing down because it has the grip only on the front side. I have to get used to putting my phone face down.

This is my fourth Speck case. Just like the others, it is a perfect snug fit to protect my phone while still allowing easy use of the charge port, camera, and volume switch. The buttons are a little stiff, but not so stiff that I can't use them. I like the discreet logo in the upper right corner. Five stars!

This is probably my 3rd clear Speck Presidio as I've moved through various iPhones. The cases hold up well without becoming brittle. The plastic doesn't yellow and the texture is easy to hold onto without being too slick.

Bulky for everyday use
Bought for new new iPhone 12, and wanted to be able to see the phone through the case. The plastic is very clear, has good drop protection, and protects the screen and camera lens. Downsides are that the case is bulky which hides the clean lines of the phone, it's hard for me to hold in one hand, and buttons are very difficult to press. It's also challenging to get the phone in and out of the case without putting too much pressure on the screen or camera. I'm keeping it for hiking trips, but bought a slimmer case for every day use.

Love the overall case. Not bulky but still protective. The buttons on the case are pretty much flush with the rest of the case which is nice in a way, but they are hard to push, whereas my husbands new case for his iPhone 12 (different brand are so easy to push).

This makes using functions especially Apple Pay difficult. Other than that the case seems good. I do not know yet if the "clear" case will yellow.

It's a standard case that has a sufficient raised bezel, it scratches relatively easily but the buttons (especially the volume ones) are incredibly difficult to press. I'm honestly thinking about getting a new case because of it. I've had this for about 3 weeks now.

Great fit and shows off the color of the iPhone. I ordered the case in advance of the iPhone 12 Pro launch date and the case showed up the day before which was perfect. I didn't have to chance using the phone without a case. I have the Pacific Blue iPhone 12 and the clear case really shows off this beautiful new color nicely while keeping it well protected! This case is perfect, minus one big flaw. The buttons are extremely firm and not tactile at all. They're almost unusable. If Speck were to dramatically improve the buttons, this would easily be one of the best, if not best, clear cases on the market.

I got this for my new 12 Pro. Well, I usually love Speck cases, but this is thicker than normal. It's too thick for the magnet in the phone to properly attach to the MagSafe charger. I"m not using it anymore and will likely just keep it as a back up or return it.

At the moment very happy with this case. The plastic is very tough and sturdy. I even dropped my phone recently and it protected the phone as it should do. I'm curious to see if the clear plastic will turn yellow over time. At the moment it's still clear.
Only comment would be the plastic scratches very easily. I'm glad my actual phone isn't getting scratched but it would be nice to see less scratches on the case on the back side.

I wanted a clear case for my Iphone and good protection at the same time. This was a blind buy.
Aesthetically, I'm not a fan. The case has lots of engravings that pollute the "clear case" design in my opinion, and the phone fitted so tight that the case got stuck with the device's buttons. By the time I took the iphone in and out twice, the case has already scratched on the inside. Also, fingerprint magnet.
I do have to admit though, I feel my device is safe with this case. I like that the borders are thick and transparent at the same time. Antibacterial properties and the Clear Guarantee (I hope) are a plus.

This is by far the best case I have found for my Iphone. I have been using another company for sometime now, but after buying this clear case I am sold on Speck. I have always heard good things about Speck but actually never bought a case from them. I have been through 2-3 cases for my new iPhone and this has been a perfect fit! The buttons on the side are a tad hard to use but i can get over that. It does scratch easy. Mine was scratched when I opened the box already before i even used it. But i can overlook that bc the case is a prefect fit and my phone seems to be secured and protected!

I have used this line of cases for as long as I can remember, moving from the candyshell to the presidio when the change was made. These cases are not only great looking but they do a phenomenal job of protecting your device. Any issue that has occurred to the case due to wear etc. has been handled promptly and professionally. I certainly would buy from Speck.
Since I am retired. I just use the phone for personal calling, text, email, photos etc. The clear case is perfect for me. I was a Naval aviator, so I purchased the new blue iPhone 12. I have some "cling" wings which I put on the phone and then simply snapped on the clear case and now I have the gold wings on a blue background.

Speck iPhone 12 clear protective case
I really like the thin minimalist design of this phone protector. I haven't had any issues with the buttons being too stiff as other reviewers indicated. I don't carry insurance on the devices that have these cases on them. This is a solid company that makes great phone products. Keel up the great work!

Smudges, Bumper Barely Covers Front Edges, Not Clear, Slips
I was really disappointed with this case. It's not clear like it says, it's more like what car windows look like that need to be defrosted. I could barely see my phone. It didn't help that you could see all the oils from finger prints etc. It was gross. The raised bumper over the front edges barely cover them. I'm not even sure you can call it bumpers/raised edges. The other weird thing is it was really slippery. I had to hold a really tight grip to keep it from slipping through my hands. I didn't expect that. Basically, I didn't feel my phone was at all protected. I hate writing a bad review, but for such an expensive phone, I felt people should know.

The case is really sturdy, but the buttons are not easily pressed. It's not responsive at all, I have to put a lot of force just to push it. Also, the inside of the case smudges easy and is not 100% clear depending on the light.

It's very slippery and the buttons are hard to use. I wouldn't say it's super clear, holds lots of fingerprints and causes it to be even less clear. I usually get the black color and probably should have stuck with that.

I always recommend Speck phone cases because they really do protect your phone. I bought a similar case for my iPhone SE and it lasted the whole time I owned the phone and kept it looking like brand new. Only downside is that the clear case discolored, I hope this case doesn't do the same. Only other thing, I wish there was a slimmer option that protects just as well.

The fit is good and the quality seems good. Already dropped phone once or twice and case protected phone well. The only thing I notice that could use some improvement is the buttons. They are more difficult to press with the case. Also I regret getting the clear, it is extremely boring.

Very upset! I dropped it one time and the back of my phone completely shattered. It was only dropped from 2.5 feet. This is the first phone I've ever cracked (over a 9 year period) thanks to this case

We purchased four cases to evaluate for our new phones. My son preferred the Speck case. It looked great and seemed more protective because of the guarantees from Speck, reviews in trusted sources, and the feel of the product. My wife chose another manufacturer only because she liked the grip on the competition. I personally prefer my son's case to my wife's. I would recommend the Speck case.

I think that the case material could be more scratch resistant. I am usually careful with my phone, but this case has scratched so easily across table surfaces and handling when inside a bag. It's perfect to show off the beautiful iPhone materials but the scratches are annoying to say the least.

Overall I like Speck product. Case looks good. Very tight fit, it is difficult to get on a off. I don't plan on taking it on and off frequently. Buttons are a bit stiff and at times need additional pressure to activate but still functional. I could see this being an issue with some users, but not an issue for me.
Overall design appears to have good protection all around. Overall the case does increase size of the phone but drastically.
I would recommend the case to others.

Way to rigid of a case. The iphone 12 pro max was just released/delivered today so any prior reviews could not have really been of the pro max with this case. This case does not fit well. Too difficult to get on and off- to the point of being worried about breaking the phone itself.

Great Aesthetic, Poor Functionality.
The clearness of this case is the main appeal and it shows the phone off well.
However, the button formation make it incredibly difficult to actually press in the two volume buttons and siri/sleep/wake button. It's uncomfortable to have to attempt to press really hard on the buttons. I understand the plastic is made of a durable material but the cut-out design does not allow for an easy press.
Honestly, had I known interacting with the buttons would have been so frustrating then I would have chosen another case.

Visually looks like a promising protection for the phone, but the buttons are pretty much unusable. There is no tactile feedback and you have to press REALLY HARD to adjust volume. Same applies to the side button, but volume control is a deal breaker that makes you want to take the case off. That's where you meet another challenge - it's quite non-trivial to do that...

I Would Always Consider a Speck First.
I bought this case and it was delivered before I received my new iPhone 12pro. It was great to be able to immediately pop my new phone into this clear case and know it was well protected. Because it is clear, my beautiful Pacific Blue color can still be enjoyed. I have had Speck cases for both of my laptops and I had a case for my old iPhone, too. This case does a great job of protecting the phone, just like all speck cases. I have used them for years. However this one does not seal around the camera bump which allows for all sorts of debris to get between the case and phone. This is not good for aesthetics, especially on a clear case.

Way too slippery, had to keep a hard grip so it wouldn't slip through my fingers. Buttons are so hard to push, you have to use both thumbs. Case is cloudy, not clear, so you can't see phone color. It smudges bad from finger prints and oil from hands etc. which it really gross and also makes it even harder to see. The bumpers over the front edges don't cover it, so I wouldn't trust it to protect the front of the phone. The case is near impossible to get on and off. I wanted to try Speck, but guess I'm sticking with Otterbox.

Fantastic quality. I actually had to put muscle into getting the case on my iphone 12 and it finally made a loud and satisfying "snap" into place. Feels very precisely cut and when I say it fits the phone like a glove, more like it IS the phone. I feel like it could pad a major drop and the design keeps the screen and camera module recessed behind the surface line of the case which is nice to know.

Really did not like this case. It feels extremely durable, but it's heavy, has rainbow streaks, has really difficult button covers to push, and has visible patent numbers along the side of the case. I would return it if it wasn't outside the return period.

I'm a loyal Speck customer and I've only used Speck cases for my iPhones. Unfortunately this one was underwhelming as the side buttons are really hard to use. I find myself having to press really hard in order to turn my phone off or use the volume buttons on the side.

Speck always made cases that offer superior protection for phone devices. I got this clear case because I want a minimalist design but then the case is literally covered with Speck logos(2x) + Speck text (2x). The other key issue is that it doesn't work with Magsafe.

The best case to display the new Pacific Blue color on my 12 Pro. The case feels sturdy and quality. The only knock would be how stiff the buttons feel when pressed. Hoping these soften over time but it isn't enough to knock the case down a star.

Tried this case with two different wireless chargers and both failed to work. Had to break and go buy a mag safe case instead.
Case quality is great, though. Love Speck as a brand but what's the point if it won't work with wireless chargers at this point in the technology.

Already dropped it and no scratches or concerns. It is a little bulkier than I thought but not too bad. Feels good knowing there's a 13-foot drop rating. Something else to notice is the case is raised above the screen so a drop to flat ground won't ever contact the screen itself.

had the guys at the att store put it on - but they didn't tell me I needed to move my SIM card from my iPhone 11 to the new 12 - when all set up, of course the phone wouldn't work. I have spent more than an hour trying to get the case off, have scratched the phone, and still cannot get the case off to install the new SIM card.

Without a sale, this case is very overpriced. The soft material - whatever they call it these days was not so soft. In fact, it was so hard that it makes the buttons unusable. I've used Speck since the iPhone 4S and this will be the first year I've used a competitor due to the Lack of Quality and Designs that began with the iPhone 7. The case Fit was nice and tight and the Camera Protection seems good. Ultimately the cases were returned because the buttons were too hard to press.
On a side note, what does Speck have against the color Green?

Not because I'm not enjoying the case. But because I truly am a believer of product innovation and Speck is a developer. This case feels like it's made from a harder plastic than any soft case but softer also softer plastic than any hard shell case. The front has a lip, which is good because if you put a full glass shield protector, there's absolutely no corners that would be able to hit the floor directly and the glass is fully covered. Now; the ideal case? Would have small tiny ridges on the sides for a more solid grip.

I've had this case for only a few days considering I just upgraded my phone. I wish I knew how slippery it was and that it would show all fingerprints (some clear cases are resistant to that), this is a magnet for prints and such. I would have purchased the "grip" clear case instead. I have the Speck case on my MacBook Pro and love it. This?, it's meh at best. 2.75 stars if I could. It does do what it is intended, but poor hand feel. The buttons are hard to use at the moment, but it is new. I have to be fair and consider that in the review.

Bought this case for everyday protection for iPhone 12 Pro. Overall, I'm happy with its ability to protect my phone from drops. However, there are gaps that allow dust and pet hair to easily collect under the case surface, making the back of the phone appear dirty. It's still a decent case, but I would recommend an opaque, colored case over this one.

Thse case was hard to put on but when it was finally done, the disappointment did not end: all the buttons are so hard to press the it takes both hands to operate- impossible. I ditched the case and ordered an Otterbox Symmetry Clear case for my iPhone 12- what a relief. The Otterbox really works. The Speck case was a waste of money for me. Sorry.

Protective but slick, rigid, and hard to use buttons
I instinctively buy Speck cases almost immediately when I get a new phone. I prefer the layered ones with rubbery inside and nonslip grips with rigid outer shell. This one was made entirely of the rigid plastic, so it was difficult to press buttons, and it doesn't have the rubber-like nonslip "tread" for the grips, so it was actually harder to hold and made me feel like I was MORE likely to drop the phone. The clarity of the plastic was impressive, but that's not my priority feature, so I sent it back.

In the past I had purchased colored Speck cases for my old iPhone models, but have found that this clear case for the new 12 is not my favorite. For starters, there is branding everywhere. In addition, and probably most importantly, it is very hard to press the side buttons. They do not slightly stick out like they did on the colored rubber cases I previously owned. Instead, they are more sunken in and are difficult to press.

My long experience is with the best clear offering from Otter Box. It's a fine product, but thick and ugly. The Speck Presidio Perfect-Clear seems just as protective, yet more tapered, elegant, and it allows you to see the device more clearly. Other, similar cases have yellowed quickly, but word is that the Speck will not, and that's very appealing. If I've any concern it is that the area on the side where the power button is will become soft and distended, as they tend to from constant pressing. Still, this device is very promising from the outset.

This case is insanley slippery and hard to pick up and hold in hand. I find myself holding on very tight, just so i dont drop it. Also, the volume buttons and the power button, are nearly impossible to press, and when you do press them, you don't feel the click at all. Would not recommend.

The sides are a little cloudy looking. It's OK. Time will tell if the "clear" stays that way or if it succumbs to the yellowing that all of these cases tend to over time.

Do some research on other cases.
The case looks nice but it is extremely hard to get onto the phone. I doubt I'll ever be able to take it off without ruining either the case or the phone. It's also very slick in the hand due to it being smooth plastic.

Love my Speck Phone covers!

I only buy Speck Cases for my iPhones!
Speck cases are always the best. This is my 8th iPhone and it is my 10th Speck Case. My last phone, I had for almost 3 years and the only thing I changed was the color of the Speck case half way through to give me som variety. The Presidio cases are always solid and do not add much bulk to the phone. I had it ordered even before my iPhone 12 came in so once my phone arrived, it went right into the case. Great products and great customer service. Thanks for keeping my new iPhone safe!

I chose Spec for my new IPhone 12Pro case because I loved the one that I previously had purchased for my IPhone X. My new iphone is so beautifully designed I wanted a perfectly clear case to show it off. Unfortunately clear plastic usually does not look clear when you put it to work. I took a risk and ordered it on line and since it was so inexpensive. I figured if it did not work there was not much of a loss. It exceeded my expectations.

Great product! Lifetime clarity is a ridiculous great warranty. A little bit slippery of a case but you don't want stubble or or rubber lining the outside to take away from the best clear case available. I didn't see anyone else who offers what speck presido line does. Great customer service as I had some shipping issues which they solved hassle free. The buttons are a bit stiff but I like it as it I know they would never get pressed unintentionally. Cutouts are perfectly aligned, raised edges by camera and screen

The best iPhone case, hands down.
I buy one of these every time i get a new iphone. Its clear, tough, and inexpensive. Highly recommended. I'm a master electrician, and my phone goes with me everywhere. In attics in the Texas heat, under houses after a south texas downpour, and through it all, my case protects my mobile office. I count the days down till my case arrives when I get a new phone, and Speck is the only company I trust to make that happen.

The Good and The Things to Consider
I have loved clear Speck cases since I got my first one, back in 2015 when I bought my iPhone 6s, and every year when I've upgraded my phone (yes every year haha) I've bought a new one for my new phone.
They stay clear. No yellowing.
They do scratch up a bit, but even then, they look like they are well-worn, well-loved, not like a beat up janky case.
They handle falls LIKE A CHAMP. I drop my phone all the time (I have tiny hands).
The ONE reason this case did not get 5 stars: the buttons.
I read previous reviews about how the buttons are hard to press, and I didn't believe them (having had this case before, and never having an issue with the buttons, I believed it was just a fluke for those people). But nope. These buttons are definitely hard to press. I think Speck tried to keep the buttons too streamlined to the case, so they don't protrude too far. But that is a mistake. I have to push like, IN to the hard plastic to get my phone to lock, and that kind of stinks. And my buttons are weirdly sharp, like they cut the material weird and I have this sharp edge all the way around the button. (I'm hoping the sharp edges kind of soften with use, they have in the past - but not in a bad way.)
One more thing to note: this case is more on the slick side. If you want it to drop into your pocket easily, this case is wonderful. If you are a total butterfingers (like I am), you may not like it. I just happen to know how to handle this clear case, so the slick feeling doesn't actually bother me; just my hands are teeny tiny so I drop everything lol.
But, all that being said, I would still probably buy this case again for my iPhone 12 Pro. The beauty of the clarity, and knowing that my phone is protected in this slim, sleek TANK of a case... it's worth the hassle.

Too difficult to push side buttons
It fits tightly and protects the screen with a raised lip that doesn't interfere with using the edges of the screen. But it's agonizingly difficult to take off and get it back on. The deal breaker is that it's super difficult to press any side buttons. I'm looking for a new case because of this.

I love how slim the case is so my phone isn't bulky. The bumpers are nice and thick and create a nice safe rim around the screen. My only complaint is this case is a bit slippery. I've had my phone slip out of my hands a couple times.

Unfortunately, I'm not very fond of this case. First, it's a lot bulkier than I was expecting. Makes the phone a lot bigger and less easier to hold than I was hoping. However, one advantage to this is that it might protect the phone from hard falls. The other thing I dislike is how rigid the case is. This makes it extremely difficult to get the phone in the case. Once the phone is in the case, have fun pressing the volume/power buttons. It is extremely difficult to push down on these buttons. I actually have to use two hands to push down on a button (the other hand is to firmly hold the other side of the phone given how much force is needed). I thoroughly regret purchasing this case and highly discourage others from doing the same.

Not Actually Clear and Side Buttons Are Hard to Push
This case provides great protection. However, it is nowhere near as clear as the promises and pictures. My blue phone looks a hazy purple with the case on. Most negative part of the case is that the buttons are unbelievably hard to push. There is zero "click" and whatsoever and it feels like you are pushing on a solid piece of the case.

I love Speck cases. Only one unsatisfactory feature about this case is that the case is too thick around the power and volume buttons, which makes it very difficult to adjust volume, screen shop and powering off. I would not recommend it for people with arthritis/carpal tunnel of the hands.

I have been buying speck cases for my phones ever since my iPhone 3G. Speck has such great quality for their cases and are always up to today's standards of phone safety. The case is very nice. All clear ??. The case helps a lot with phone grip, especially since the new iPhone 12 pro is the thickness of an iPhone 5 again. Love a good grip. I won't lie when I say since having the new phone I've dropped it and the case has been there for every fall. The case also makes the phone comfortable as well to hold. Buttons are easy to press on the sides of the phone. I know many cases where the buttons are literally MOLDED into the case and you can't even press them without almost getting a broken finger trying to turn up the volume. Never a problem with speck cases. I live this brand and their cases and the protection that comes with owning this case and any other.

I love speck cases but they've never been scratch proof, bummer that they promote that. Within days it has lines and scratches :( the buttons are still accessible but can definitely be hard to press sometimes. Unsure how long I'll use this case before I switch to another style!

I love this case a lot more than the clear case Apple sells because it has slightly more grip and covers the entire phone. The only downside (and will probably always have to be this way) is that there isn't enough grip.

Buttons on case aren't easy to use
I've only used Speck cases on my iPhones (since the 3GS) and love them for their protective qualities, durability, and sleek/simple design. While the Presidio Perfect-Clear is sleek/simple, and I assume the protective qualities are the same as other Speck products, the buttons on the case are what made me give it a 3 star review. You have to press pretty hard on the iPhone buttons through the Speck case in order for them to work. Disappointing.
