Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Good Basic and Plain Case I needed a cover because I didn't want my iPad mini to get all scratched up. I also wanted a case that wasn't too bulky and would allow my iPad to stand when I needed it to and this fit the bill. It has different notches on the interior of the case so if I wanted to change the angle of viewing when I wanted to stand my iPad, I would be able to. The only downside is that I sometimes find my iPad slipping and falling down after I place it on a notch. The case also has a soft furry interior which is a plus!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product The Speck Balance Folio iPad mini 5th generation case is well made and fits both the 4th generation as well as the newer 5th. The one real difference is volume button size and location compared to the previous model. I also like the blue option, having owned gray and black in the previous versions. My wife owns the plum and likes hers too. The case is study and the stand adjusts to meet most needs. I would recommend Speck products and this case.

It was attractive, but a functional nightmare. I ordered my new Speck case and sent the other one back. All the buttons on my iPad are fully and easily accessible. The stand works great. After 3 years of constant use, it has got a little "saggy", so I have replaced it with exactly the same model. It has done a great job of protecting the iPad when it travels with me and from inevitable falls, and it props it up in several very useful ways. I have two wishes: (1) that it could also prop the iPad up in vertical orientation, and (2) that Speck made the identical case for my phone! (iPhone SE, if anyone is listening.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy and have bought this product again. I bought this Folio for my new iPad mini because I had used the same product on my old iPad mini that was stolen. That iPad had been in three war zones over and over, and got some rough treatment in certain circumstances. It never let me down, and regardless of the hits it took from climbing in and out of various vehicles and airplanes, the iPad was never damaged. So, there was never a doubt as to what I would put on the new iPad mini. We referred to it as armor.

The case offers good protection from any potential drops or falls. I never really worry about it, just toss it in my bag and go about my day. The stand feature is just ok. If I had one gripe, it would be that the indentations where the iPad rests into are a touch shallow and the iPad can 'slip' out of these without much force. Other than that one complaint, it's great! Would recommend this case to friends. #sweepstakes

It's quality and to top it off, there was a return label in the original package in case I was not happy with the product. Talk about good customer service. (Of course I didn't use the label because I was very happy with my purchase.) Did I mention it came quickly as well? It stands up at all sorts of angles too.

My previous case did not have that feature. When I dropped the case it flew open and the iPad hit the ground and the screen got cracked.

It's surface is smooth and easy to clean with a damp wipe. The iPad itself, is so slim without the case, it is almost difficult to hold, so this case makes it easy to hold, easy to carry and easy to pack for travel. I couldn't enjoy the iPad without my Balance FOLIO case. It's perfect!

I like how the lip comes over the edge and the way the front snaps shut in case I drop it. My original iPad has never been damaged when dropped. I do wish there were some different color options, like maybe grey with a subtle pattern. That being said,I wouldn't sacrifice quality for a 'prettier' case

The handy little lock on the side not only works when the case is closed, but the really handy thing about it, and a great idea and design, is that when you're holding your iPad and working on it, the cover opens and you fold it around to the back and instead of the cover sliding around the back, the handy lock also can connect from the rear! This is so the cover is neatly fastened and doesn't get in the way. Great idea. The case IS a sleep/wake too. I bought two of them and they feel like they'll both outlast my iPad. Speck makes my favorite lines of iPhone cases and now I have the Balance FOLIO line of cases for my iPads that are among my favorites too! In addition, the price is right.

I believe it stated that the case could go in a myriad of settings. There is no adjustment possible for the case to go vertical. This is disappointing as my last case did just that.

I love them and they've proven to be great when it comes to protecting the phones - and I'm probably the person mostly likely to drop my phone at least once a day. I'd never gotten a speck case for an iPad, but when Apple didn't have the color I wanted in stock, I started searching for other options. I should have realized the Speck made iPad cases, but hadn't noticed until now. I ordered it and when it arrived I was quite happy with it. The construction is very similar to the iPhone cases and the way you can use the case to prop the iPad at various angles is great. If I had one wish, it would be that there was a way to prop up my iPad in Portrait configuration. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.

I wound up sending two of the cases back. Incidentally they were both packaged and sealed in cellophane. I then ordered another of the cases and it was obviously a used one. Very disappointing so I sent that one back as well.

The cutout is too low compared to the iPad mini. This mans the volume up button is constantly being pressed, making the iPad always at full volume.

I replaced that one w an exact duplicate a few years later. I use it an average of 4-5 hours a day. The second one deteriorated quickly: fabric just wore thin. This new one is same style and fabric. I certainly hope it doesn't deteriorate as fast as the second one. The case fits tight after being snapped in. Clasp is easy to fasten. Protection great! I clean w alcohol occasionally.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy enough Sadly the product photos here are mere "artist impressions", on YouTube you can see what this case actually looks like (a smaller version of it's bigger brothers) I'm not sure I like the stitching but it might add to its durability. I've seen cases without stitching falling apart after some time. This case is really an iPad mini 4 case with two added mic holes for the new mini 5. When you buy it for the 2019 mini the volume buttons are not nicely centered, it has an extra unused mic hole and the camera cutout is way too wide. Other than that, this is a great case.

I don't use the stand up feature so I'm not able to comment on that. But definitely would recommend from a usefulness, durability and quality perspective.

I ordered one for my iPad mini . I love that it isn't bulky and quality is great . When I first snapped it on it seemed like it wasn't going to fit but it has a trick . Fits perfect . I love that the ipad screen turns off once you close it instead of pushing the button .

The case opens to prop the iPad in several landscape positions and stays in place very well in each position - no sliding down. And most importantly it gives easy access to all the control buttons on the iPad so that powering on and off and adjusting volume, etc. is easy. Great product, very satisfied.

The color is a beautiful royal blue. It's heavy enough to protect, but still light enough not to feel cumbersome. The cover turns into a stand with multiple options.

I got in less than week after completing my purchase online, put it on, and only activated my iPad Mini after receiving my case. I like how when you close the lid, it automatically locks the iPad Mini. Great product!

This case has a slighter thinner profile than the one for the iPad 4. It's best feature are little feet that firmly fit into the trudges on the case back. This means it stays firmly in reading position on one's lap while you are sitting. It looks good, and does the job beautifully. I highly recommend this case.

I bought a blue, because I wanted another Speck case. My last case was a generation 2 and the latch was stronger than the new generation 5 case. The latch gets a lot of use, so I hope it holds up to do its job. I bought directly from Speck and got a discount and delivery was good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's so easy, even a Cave Man can do it! I love the easy-to-setup stand and the protection that it gives to both sides of the iPad. I initially bought the Apple smart-cover, and the iPad slipped off the counter the first day I took it home. Plus, setting up the iPad to stand-while-viewing was a pain. The Apple magnetized smart-cover kept slipping off. With the Speck case, I don't even have to think about how to set the iPad for stand-up viewing. It's so intuitive, I don't even think about it. I just do it!
