Rated 5 out of 5 by from For a first product it's was almost perfect. I love having one single large display and being able to multitask on the Odyssey Ark. I only wish that the wall mount did not remove the rotation feature for cockpit mode. Having two rechargeable remotes is great and the dial plus software is easy to use and very user friendly. I hope Samsung continues to innovate and listen to what what customers want to see in a replacement of having four separate monitors.

Pros: Great HDR Super fast refresh rate Amazing screen quality Love the built in LEDs on back of monitor Its a TV with streaming apps Solar charging for remote and ark dial Speakers sound amazing Cons: HDMI only... There are 4 of them but lack of display port is shameful. Game mode causes the monitor to randomly black out during gaming sessions. Using the ark dial takes some getting used. Disappointed that you can't have multiple HDMI inputs displayed on screen simultaneously same goes for streaming apps. Takes a while to tab in and out of apps with just a black screen and a spinning circle for 5 seconds. Overall it's great and I love it. I see myself getting another G9 in the future.

I was a little reluctant after I bought it, but then I played spiderman on my ps5 with it and I really felt like I was in the game fully immersed in the action, sounds and environment. A little upset theirs no display port for my pc on the the ARK. After all, it's supposed to be a gaming monitor.

It has 4 HDMI inputs - but does NOT support split screen from the individual inputs?!..What where they NOT thinking. So you cannot split this large monitor across a Apple TV HDMI input, and Second PC and your main PC input on the huge screen?...it is full of Apps...wants internet connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gimmicky, horrible for the price, garbage service. I purchased this monitor about 6 months ago and am incredibly disappointed. The multi view is gimmicky at best and doesn't work as expected, they hide the fact that it only works on their build in software and not multiple inputs. When the resolution changes or game mode kicks on it's a gamble if the monitor is going to work and it takes 30+ seconds to redetect the input and the icing is their lack of support. I contacted support on Nov 13th because my monitor STOPPED working, they submitted a service request with USSI Global and after attempting to verify my service request (via a garbage automated system that leads me straight to voice mail) I have yet to hear anything. I had very high hopes for this monitor, but Samsung let me down yet again. Guess there is a reason this monitor has such poor reviews.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Samsung disappointed me and lost a company Avoid! I’ve had mine a week and it’s garbage! If you record video content it’s a no no. The HDMI only is also trash! They advertise gen 1 for “Black Friday sale”..,then days later gen 2 goes on sale for $200 more then gen 1. I’ve owned a list of Samsung products…multiple TVs, appliances, several monitors…but after all this i will never buy another Samsung product again. This monitor flashes, turns of randomly, the one box sounds like it’s going to explode…and it smells like burning plastic. I tried to return to Best Buy and because it wouldn’t fit in my car in the box they unpacked it and loaded it, kept the box, and they won’t take it without the box. I have the styrofoam…I’ll be doing a TikTok soon to review it verbally and to show all issues for proof. Avoid this monitor at all cost!

Blurry washed out HDR is unacceptable on a $3000 dollar monitor. I will be happy to change my review if this is fixed but as right now im considering sending this right back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Monitor I have ever used. i have been using samsung monitors for years as recently as the neo g9 but this by far is the one i have been waiting for. i was able to replace 4 monitors with this one and the picture quality for gaming and productivity is amazing. i hope in the future (maybe with a firmware update) it will support multiple pc's at one time but i i am very happy with this product and woud recommend it to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing but multiview limitations hinder it's use the display is awesome, looks great. but only being able to have 1 active input for the multiview make this useless for me unfortunately. the other odyssey monitors can display multiple inputs at once in varoius pip, side by side, etc modes, but it's strange that isn't allowed here. the portrait mode would've been perfect if 3 hdmi inputs could be used, but you can only ever use 1 hdmi, all the rest of the 'views' are internal apps or screen sharing. makes no sense. :(

Even though it labels itself as a dolby atmos pc monitor, if you enable "Dolby Atmos for Home Theater" in Windows there is no sound. (I only have an nvidia gpu so its the only method I can test with). eARC does not truly passthrough, as even 11.4.2 sound systems only appear as 5.1 speakers. No multi-source split view which is strange on a monitor/tv this size. Why would you not allow picture in picture or picture by picture.

The scale and resolution are excellent allowing me to basically have 4 monitors in one. Working in IT in the technology field this monitor allows me to work and play all on the same monitor. The curve is easy on the eyes and it makes multi-tasking easy. The quality of the build is excellent and I look forward to years of use. I can't recommend this monitor enough to those who need a solution that is as good for work as it is for play!

As a content creator and a gamer, I was excited when my Ark had finally arrived at my house. I’ve already knew about that only 1 source was able to use at one time. What I didn’t know was that you cannot use Twitch App in multi view. It would be nice to have my twitch chat up using the app. Samsung, if you’re reading this, I hope that more than one input and apps are able to be used for multi-view in future updates.

It can also handle high end 4k gaming at a level Ive come to expect from every viewing experience I have. Ive yet to explore the vast amount of features this monitor has to offer. If I had to go back and purchase again, I absolutely would.

But, as a hybrid (trying to do both at the same time), average. You can not multi-view more than one HDMI source at a time. When I have tried to have my PS5 and then ApplePlay simultaneously in split screen, there is allot of stuttering and it is unusable. You also can not have 4k in any multi-screen configuration. So, despite these drawbacks, I will not go through the hassle of returning it. Primarily because I truly wanted it for single screen gaming. Therefore, 3 stars for the actual value of this product.

Stunning picture 2. Inky blacks 3. Great range of brightness 4. Impressive speakers/sound 5. Perfectly curved screen 6. Cockpit mode is entertaining but not practical for my use case Cons 1. No usb-c (Deal breaker for many, macbooks don't wake up after switching input source) 2. Can't display more than one HDMI/input source at a time (Deal breaker for many) 3. Can't split horizontally to have two vertically stacked ultra wides 4. Cant create custom multi views 5. Limited multi view I love this monitor and it would be unmatched for both gaming and productivity if the One Connect box had at least one usb-c slot(I couldn't recommend any other monitor if it had 2 usb-c slots)! Beautiful picture when gaming or consuming netflix etc. However, things start to break down when you use a Mac and Apple is partially at fault since they have not caught up to other PC's HDMI performance/specs. The picture isn't terrible but mac users are unable to equally stunning experience when used for gaming/streaming content. Using a usb-c to HDMI helps - a lot, but maxes out at 60hz refresh rate. Unlock the monitors full potential and dominate both gaming and productivity markets by adding usb-c or offer one connect with/without usb-c!

Dolby Atmos for Home Theater does not work in Windows 11 (no system audio, nvidia cards). Samsung support told me "it doesn't support atmos" but it says it on product sticker.... tier 2 support said reboot my pc. Very unhelpful. Can't use dual hdmi sources. When I plug in a soundbar and turn on Game Mode there is no picture. Screen is incredible. Features on paper are. Fixable firmware issues are killer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Butter smooth on games, amazing picture. i have only had this thing for about 24 hours but it is absolutely the best monitor i have ever used, if you lied to me and told me it was oled i'd almost believe you except that it's too bright for an oled. the 165hz is butter smooth on games with fast mouse turning and watching movies on it is no joke better than a lot of theaters i have paid to get into, the sound is amazing and i can't wait to set it up with some bluetooth speakers for the surround. it was pricy but thanks to samsung/td financing it's not so bad. it's so immersive i actually have a touch of that vr vertigo feeling when gaming on it, but i think it's just a matter of getting used to it. the ppi is a tad low but there's no gaming hardware that can really efficiently push 8k yet anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Game-Changer for Work and Entertainment I recently purchased the Samsung 55” Odyssey Ark 4K UHD Quantum Mini-LED Curved monitor for my work computer, and I have been blown away by its performance and visual quality. Previously, I was using a three-monitor setup, but the Odyssey Ark has completely replaced the need for multiple monitors. With my laptop placed to one side, I have found this monitor to be incredibly versatile and efficient for multitasking. The Odyssey Ark features an outstanding display, with deep, dark blacks and strikingly bright whites. HDR content truly comes to life on this screen, with colors that are vibrant and accurate. The Quantum Mini-LED technology is a game-changer, providing a level of detail and clarity that is simply unmatched. Using the monitor in cockpit mode (portrait orientation) has significantly improved my productivity. This mode offers a wealth of options for arranging windows and applications, allowing me to work more efficiently and effectively. I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality of 4K videos shot in vertical 9x16; they look so lifelike, as if I were looking through a window with an almost three-dimensional effect. I initially purchased the Odyssey Ark on sale, but Samsung has since lowered the retail price, making it an even better value. I was so impressed with this monitor that I purchased a second one for my personal computer in another room. It is hands down the best-looking display I have ever owned. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worst mistake I ever made! This is the absolute worst "gaming" monitor I've ever seen. Changing modes takes a minute or more. Game mode is nothing but a sponsered advertiement for Microsoft Xbox. You cannot remove theses ads and if you turn off "Game mode" or the screen reverts to 120HTz and non HDR non 4k worst possible resolution on any screen. Do not buy this! There are better, smarter options. If you insist on getting one, I'll give you mine! I despise this screen! I hate it so much I will never buy another Samsung brand item ever!! I buy a new phone every year, has always been Samsung! Never again. I sell SSD at my small computer shop, only Samsung! Never again! I despise this monitor!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow, but a bummer They were so close and cut a few corners...even though it is curved. Great display, but it is like buying a Ferrari and putting a Yugo engine in it. Great display, but you can't use it they way most will want. 4 Inputs but only one at a time?!?!? The developers knew this would be a problem. They MUST be working on the next version. If you buy this one for $3k, you will kick yourself (or sell it on eBay) in a few months when they come out with the V2 where you can display multiple inputs at the same time. They will hopefully also put in DISPLAYPORT inputs. No reason not to. More graphic display cards will have 1.4 than cards that have HDMI 2.1 I would wait for this to be below $2.5k in price, like it was for the months leading up to Christmas. It will go down shortly, because the feedback all over the web is "Wow, but bummer". I might even wait until it goes under $2k before I buy another.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good and Bad. Needs several KEY improvements Good and bad. First version. Prices was below $2,500 and should go below that soon again, because this 4K is not worth $3K. The next version (after they take all the feedback and improve it) might be worth $3k for while, but again, since everyone had this at $2.5k for the months leading up to Christmas, they can (and will) all do it again. Wait for the price drop and save money. Without a DisplayPort, this is lacking an important and valuable input from computers. More computers have Displayport output of at least 1.4 than those which have HDMI 2.1. Converters won't give you what you need in sync. You will also have to pay more to get a device to combine multiple inputs to show on the screen. This cannot on it's out. I had to pay another $200 to get what is needed to really use this properly. Hopefully they will include it in the next version. Just wait.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too many problems my wife got this for me for an early christmas gift, so as soon as it released, and for $3,500 it shouldn't have the problems it has. for starters, it seldom wakes from sleep. i run 2 monitors, the lg will wake, but the ark won't. i used to be able to use the remote to power it down and back on then it would wake. now that hardly works, i unplug it, use the remote, then it finally wakes. another thing, samsung pushed an update that made it way to dark to use in game mode. the thing that bothers me the most about it is, i want to have a game from my pc open, and in another window, i want my browser, nope. i have to use my pc's browser on my other monitor. we have the newest samsung phones atm, watch 5, newest tablets, but i've decided, we're looking elsewhere after this fiasco.

I guess I wasn't expecting it to have all the features of a Smart TV but with the resolution and frame rate of a high-quality gaming monitor. You can plug in an external hard drive loaded with movies directly to the base dock for a quality streaming experience. You can stream games to it using NVidia Geforce Now and a keyboard/mouse/controller. When I'm working, I like to throw Spotify up on it, turn on the lyrics and sing along. The only thing I have to say about it that isn't positive is that it weighs like 120-140lbs with the stand. It was difficult to get up onto its table by myself and I dread the thought of having to move or transport it when my time here is up.

Mainly only being able to snap 2 windows into view at a time without third party apps. The Ark is nuts, 4 windows open at a time, all measuring 27" is amazing. I own a mortgage company, so being able to see incoming emails, review loan documents, update loan files, and verify property information simultaneously makes my life much easier. I haven't used it for gaming yet, but I will!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would not Recommend I was really excited about this monitor, unfortunately, I would absolutely NOT recommend buying this. First off the software is super clunky, it is the equivalent of a $500 TV and slow. Second, the picture quality is trash! In some dark scenes in games, you can see pixelated black tones and there is a weird whitewash to the picture and not vivid by any means. To add, when I start the monitor up, it always has a small flickering in the upper left corner. I have to switch inputs back and forth to get it to stop. I would like to add that I have a custom-built computer with a great GPU. My laptop which is like 5 years old has a better picture quality. Way over priced, the horizontal function is literally useless without being able to have multiple inputs, which you cant unless you do some workaround using mirrored mode from your phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monitor but 1000R isn't the best curvature I bought this monitor in Thailand, so I am not sure if it may be updated since many of these reviews. It does have the Samsung box for multiple inputs, although I do not have any experience with multiple inputs since I just use this with my computer. I mainly use the screen for work. At home in the USA, I use 2 x 49" monitors stacked on top of each other. Having 1 x 55" monitor is a huge improvement, mainly because I can actually use full-screen for my whole viewing space when needed and don't need to deal with the borders of the monitors in the middle. The quality on the screen is great. It can be a little annoying with how long it takes for the monitor to start-up / detect the display but once up, there is no problems. The one issue with this monitor for me is that the curve is not enough. It's designed for you to sit farther back from the monitor than with the older 49" monitors I use at home. I need to either get a deeper desk or find a way to mount it to the wall. The issue with mounting to a wall is then I have to find a wall bracket that can do the tilting and rotations that I need. Probably not a big deal but it would have been nice if the monitor was just designed to be closer to you to begin with. I'll also comment that the HDMI cable that came with it was junk, causing flickering and eventual failure. Once replaced with a quality cable, I had no issues. For those of you suffering from flickering, get a quality cable. Samsung should not sell their monitors with junk cables not intended for high speed video data. I AM looking forward to a 65" monitor in the future. I hope Samsung has this in the works after the success of this one. a 65" monitor could actually justify the 1000R curvature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Odyssey Ark I've used the screen for streaming, light gaming and daily work, while still early in ownership, I highly recommend this for someone interested in an ultrawide display but wanting more height in their display than width. Some of the key highlights of me choosing this display over others was the precision of color quality to use for occasional film and photography editing as well as the one of a kind ability of portrait mode and integrating multiple "sources". I say it in quotes because as of writing this. Only 1 HDMI input can be mixed together, the other sources must be a built in app or a wireless display broadcast to it. With the limitations understood, this is a overall really great display!

As a network engineer / sys admin, I recall using a quad setup with 19s and always wished for a single monitor that can do the same....This does it better, the 1000r curve makes viewing any part of the screen the same as what's directly in front of you. Currently using i7 12700k, 64GB ddr4 with a 4070 and it has been seemless. Love this monitor...oh and the sound....

It is also very clear in quality, and I haven't had any horrible issues with it. I will say though, this monitor is extremely heavy. The stand was extremely heavy and when putting it together, it made it 2x heavier. I wish they made it a little lighter for easier set up, but you do need 2 people to set up this monitor. I honestly got this on day one of release, but I should've waited 2 months because they had it $1000 dollars off and I bought it full price.

There are work arounds; however, I do not like them. I knew when purchasing this monitor that was not an option at the time; yet, I am hoping that a firmware release allowing this feature would eventually be released. Other than that, just using the monitor works fine.

What is not talked about is the effect 55 inches can have on office productivity. This monitor is fantastic for the home office. Documents are easy to read and there is zero eye strain. There is so much space that as many windows as needed can be opened and positioned as desired. Makes a long work day much easier. The only drawback is that it is so large it can dominate the room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great in theory - A nightmare in execution I bought this for combined work / play use. I pre-ordered and received this monitor on release last year (2022). Today I removed it from my office and relegated it to a TV mount on the wall. First off - when it works, it's a great monitor. The size & curve make this an amazing experience 80+cm from you on your desk. The bad news is the software updates are a nightmare. The HDMI support is a nightmare. HDR worked great on release and was broken by the first software update. Software updates are bi-annual at best. So when it's broke, it's broke for a long time (still not fixed as of writing this). I ran this monitor in Gaming mode which is the highest (165Hz) refresh rate. The bad thing about this is the monitor decides based on the application how to optimize the display. This causes some gaming titles to re-sync (black screen, wheel of doom) frequently when they change between rendering & video. This also broke my use of a SPREADSHEET in windows. No kidding, open a spreadsheet on gaming mode and it loses signal. I have to turn off gaming mode to do productivity work. This is the opposite of productive. I regret paying full price for this monitor, and there's no way I can sell it used as it's a monster and shipping would be a nightmare (par for the course). To the wall it goes, to become a wierd looking netflix streaming device.

Pros: Gorgeous picture Immersive curve Amazing colors Multiple aspect ratio options Lots of customization Awesome speakers Cons: 2 remotes needed to really use the monitor Confusing and undocumented configuration required Expensive All in all I really like this monitor. I play in 21:9 or 32:9 based on the game on PC. On the Series X I run 16:9. I really like having the option to choose the aspect ratio based on the game I am playing. I primarily play Star Citizen on the PC and being able to run at 32:9 gives you a great field of view, the only downside is that you're massive monitor now becomes letterbox. Getting the 'letterbox' picture to center in the monitor was a nightmare and I had to change NVidia control panel settings in order to make it work, but at the end of the day I got it to work. The other downside of this monitor is the ARK dial and the remote. I really want to like the ARK dial, but it just doesn't do enough so I primarily use the remote... unless I have to change source input... which the main remote doesn't have a button for! Drives me crazy, but I have learned to deal with it at this point. For the price this is a pretty luxury monitor, but you pay a hefty premium for it. If there was another 4k ultrawide I probably would have bought that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Massive experience with an even bigger objective. I use the monitor for gaming and entertainment. It has met my expectations and more but it does have some flaws. Pros: - Huge and I mean huge. It has a massive presence on a desk and will definitely catch the attention of guests. - Amazing resolution. Even at its huge size, it manages to give a visual experience that will get you lost in whatever your eyes are viewing. - Multitasking. The ease of being able to have 6 different documents open without them overlapping is a game changer. I am able to accelerate a lot of my tasks because of it. - Speakers. The arc's built-in speakers do the job well and the ability to pair it with a Samsung soundbar and use Q-Symphanoy makes it an even more immersive experience. Cons - Input. The lack of an input button has driven me crazy. It can become a real pain when trying to switch between inputs because you have to go to the home screen and select the app corresponding to the input you need. - Multiview. No matter what you do when trying to cast something to the screen it launches in multiview. This gets frustrating because muliview has a lot of issues and it is a lot of steps to get out of it. - HDMI in 2 views. Not being able to show 2 HDMI inputs is a huge mistake in my opinion. Having the ability to play a console and have my computer screen up would be a game changer. Or when trying to show two different computer screens.

I am employed within the field of IT security and heavily rely on an extensive amount of screen real estate to effectively manage and coordinate various programs and windows simultaneously. This monitor undeniably excels in accommodating such demanding work requirements. While I am genuinely impressed and inclined to grant it a 5-star rating, there are two notable aspects that prevent me from doing so. Firstly, the absence of multiple HDMI inputs limits its connectivity potential. Secondly, and perhaps more crucially, the monitor lacks the capability to freely adjust window placement beyond the confines of its predefined grid pattern. It would be immensely beneficial if a feature could be implemented to enable users to adjust the size of inputs and freely position them anywhere on the screen. This enhancement would undoubtedly elevate the monitor's utility and make it an unequivocal 5-star product.

I picked the Odyssey Ark and I'm thoroughly satisfied with its outstanding picture quality, multi-window abilities and connectivity to my family's Galaxy Fold4, S23 Ultra and soon to be purchased, Flip5. I love how it connects to my other Samsung devices like my Galaxy Book and Tab S8+. Samsung's ecosystem is so broad and way more customizable. I love how I can do work easily via many inputs, my laptop, phones, PC and tablets. Gaming, work and streaming looks amazing on a curve screen! And when it comes to connected notifications, my smart washer and dryer (Samsung) even gives notifications while using the Odyssey Ark. Yes, I'm a fan of Samsung products. I even picked up the Freestyle and use it on camping trips or nighttime backyard parties. I even use my Galaxy Watch in tandem with the Odyssey Ark as I mirror cast workouts from my phone to it, while tracking my work out on my Watch. I was even more ecstatic that it had Gaming Hub and it's become my primary gaming display too! My all-time favorite Samsung device is the Odyssey Ark. It is the centerpiece of my office/mancave. Now if I could only reserve time on it, as my kids and wife battle over who can use it! It thoroughly beats my expectations!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expanded features are a solid suprise I used the Odyssey Ark for a range of uses, from multitasking 4 different screen doing graduate research and writing, it enables me to access all the info I need at the same time and not having to switch between live screens. The extra Ambient Mode features are just so immersive and create a truly expansive environment. Just wish Samsung would permit you to download new or optional Ambient Mode features and live screens. Also, offer the option to expand Ambient Mode on older Samsung Smart TVs. Ambient Mode is such a great feature of which Samsung should significantly expand and focus upon. Overall, I would like to see an 8K Odyssey Ark 55' or 60" and keep pushing the envelope in this regard and aspect.

I took a chance buying this monitor, unsure if I can actually use it as a 4 screen work computer. I had 4 individual 24" monitors that were connected but was cumbersome. On a 60" x 30" desk it filled the entire width and grazed the wall often, which needed a paint job when switching set ups. The reason I wanted the monitor such as the Odyssey Ark 55" monitor was to compliment a new and powerful custom computer from digital storm that was in the works... if you are going to have a $17k computer, dinky monitors just won't do. The Ark, was a great compliment and able to split into 4- 26"(diagonal) screens using funzone from microsoft bigtoys. This works great. I added 16" deep, by using a heavy duty folding table (ordered from amazon) to desk for distance - perfect! splitting the 4 screens allows me to easily do my work. since I am in architectural field, I am easily able to display floor plan, elevations, 3D views or any multiple combination of applications to display as I work. In addition, the curved monitor allows more free space, taking up much less width than the individual monitors. Finally, the monitor is a smart monitor which can connect by wifi or cable to your network. There are built in features from Samsung which gives you free TV, internet, etc and is great. Would I order this again, knowing what I do now? not only YES!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great picture quality, flawed multi-source display I use this monitor as the primary in a two-monitor setup. My other monitor is an LG 43". It's used for streaming, web browsing, email, gaming, etc. It's connected to a 8-port KVM, so I use it across Windows and MacOS. There are sometimes issues with MacOS recognizing the monitor is connected, but that's fairly rare. Picture quality is excellent, and I love this size. My only serious complaint is the lack of multi-view options. A monitor that supports 4 HDMI inputs should allow multi-view across at least two of those inputs. Samsung limits multi-view to a single HDMI input and a subset of the built-in apps that run on the monitor. This is especially bad since it limits the utility of one of the big selling features of the monitor, the ability to rotate the display.

I've used monitors as television and vice versa and this truly feels like a category all it's own, easy set up and despite it's monster size it fits seamlessly in a variety of set ups (I love a vertical monitor set up) I'm hard pressed to believe there will be a monitor that can surpass this but I'm eager to see what Samsung can come up with next

I've had this monitor the day it was released and I love using it. It's a shame that a giant monitor designed for "multiple views" ONLY SHOWS BUILT IN SOFTWARE/APPS! The software is craptastic. Bluetooth barely works and the latest update has major performance problems. The menu will lag 2-3 seconds after EVERY INPUT. You are better off buying two ultra-wide monitors from LG(That's what I was using before).

Combine the monitor with Microsoft PowerToys' FancyZones and it becomes a productivity powerhouse. That being said, with limited app support multi-view is of limited use. Really needs to add Discord and VNC client support.

Its 4K resolution and 165Hz variable refresh rate push the HDMI 2.1 spec to its limits. Like many other gaming monitors, the Ark uses a VA panel, but it’s brighter, with better contrast than others I’ve tested, thanks to its Mini LED backlighting. With HDR10 Plus and 1,056 local dimming zones, movies and TV shows look great, too.

I am able to do all 3 using the vertical feature of this monitor. This monitor is an experience to own and use. People will either love or hate this. I use my Samsung monitor to phone mirror and steam all my apps and shows I also use it for my Xbox and hdmi cord to my laptop I use it everyday all day it is one of my most used and important tech devices I have. The only thing I think Samsung can improve on is the physical buttons on the screen to access volume channels imput ect not just a on and off button.

I do development and support and this monitor gives me the equivalent amount of working space to four 1920x1080 monitors. And at 4k high refresh the screen is smooth as butter on any application I use, from Video Meetings, Remote Desktops and anything else I toss at it. The ability to adjust the height of the screen is very convenient. I do not use it in portrait mode so cant say much about that as I have plenty of space to work in landscaped layout.

I really just wanted another 43" 16:9 curved TV and I don't like the ultra widescreen offerings. It's a beautiful picture, great curve to give an immersive experience. I actually had a bit of motion sickness the first time I played Call of Duty on it, but that went away quickly. I'm seeing detail that I've never seen before. Don't let Xbox help configure HDR, it will make the picture too washed out. I use the monitor to play Xbox and watch TV. I would really like to use it for my computer too, but they still haven't fixed Multiview so I can use multiple HDMI inputs at the same time, so I'm stuck using one HDMI input and the built in Apps via Multiview. Not sure why they don't offer a fix for it, they have it working on some of their other monitors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A truly best buy monitor The monitor is large but with the ARK being curved, it feels comfortable because I’m not having to peer out towards the corners of the screen. I use the monitor mainly for work at my home office as well as gamin and with gaming, you feel much more immersed especially playing RTS types like Aliens: Dark Descent. I like the wheel controller and the menu choices that are available and fairly easy to navigate. Since I use this mainly for computer use, the monitor streaming feature will only connect to the monitor speakers and not to the speakers attached to the computer. I have to use separate speakers connected to the ARK55 to play decent sound. Overall, the ARK55 was a great buy and I am very happy with this purchase.

The enjoyment of watching a movie on this is unbelievable and having the feeling of being in a cockpit when it's rotating is undescribable and the sharpness and the clearness is incredible 10 out of 10 definitely recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not as great as advertised Multi view is a joke, you can only add in one of their integrated apps - samsung internet, samsung tv, or youtube - you CANNOT add any of the apps you've downloaded as a screen in multi view. Which, IMO, is the dumbest thing ever. If you just do two views on multi view, and mirror your desktop, then there is a ton of black space above and below the screens. By itself, as a single monitor either for gaming, movie watching, or work, it's great. But, there are a ton of other FAR less expensive options out there for just those purposes. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend Samsung allow any app in multi view to actually make this worth the money, and allow your screens to fill all area of the monitor regardless of recommended aspect ratio.

It’s clear based on the features that were focused on, using this thing as a monitor was not a priority. USB2.0, 4 HDMI ports where only one can be used at a time. No display port and no thunderbolt 3/4. There’s all these useless features you see on Samsung’s TV line that I wish I could disable. I wanted a monitor. Work like a monitor. There’s dumb issues that should just work but don’t like auto power when your computer wakes from sleep. Everything that’s wrong with this product is pretty much the fault of whoever was in charge of the one connect box portion. There’s a lot of cool gimmick features but the Ark missed the mark on the fundamental basics.

BUT, only being able to use 1 HDMI port in the Multiview is a huge disappointment. I have a Mac and a PC and a Xbox and I have to use Airplay for the mac and it is just too laggy to be tolerable. Instead I have to constantly switch from one HDMI source to another. IF I could display the 4 HDMI sources at the same time, or even 2-3 instead of the 1, it would be a super monitor. I am just glad I got it after the price drop and not before or I would have returned it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional Gaming On YouTube & Tiktok I stream everyday on YouTube for up to 12 hours watching Netflix & gaming on my Odyssey Ark performs amazingly well after playing Fortnite and Call of Duty. It's an amazing monitor with vibrant colors and vivid pictures. Well worth the $3500 I spent to purchase this monitor. I really love gaming on the Odyssey Ark, It's sobamazing I can't see not playing on this device. The blues are so blue the vivid colors jump off the screen. It makes me really happy to be able to game on this monitor, also viewing movies on Netflix & Amazon just work out of the box thanks to Samsung Oddessy Ark with the built in apps. Out of the box the colors are vibrant and exciting. I have not suffered any side effects of Gaming on my YouTube channel called RealBrotha32. It makes me smile knowing every time I boot up for another round of gaming that Samsung has my back with amazing sound & 4k output images on such a vivid picture thru the screen. I purchase this monitor in Jan.2023 and have been working with Samsung for months to try to get a one connect box. There is not support for this product. The authorized parts providers don't have this product and there is no alternatives. I can't turn the monitor on without the one-connect. I'm very disappointed with this product.

This single screen eliminates those bezels and allows me to share individual windows even when they're large, however, this screen could really be a little wider. Could Samsung please make a wider version? I would happily trade this one in for an even wider version. 28" x 55", or 61.7" (diag) would be great. Thanks

The HDR is totally broken with Game Mode ON (Game Mode ON is required to run under 165hz). Yes, this product WILL NOT run in 165hz and HDR at the same time. It seems that the DECEMBER firmware broke it. HOWEVER, after 6 months, Samsung still has NOT posted a single fix on this. TERRIBLE. I will be returning mine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny! disclaimer: i do not game and use this primarily for productivity. i've been using a flat 55" uhd samsung tv as a monitor for about 2 years now so i am already accustomed to a big screen. some of the negative comes from not being able to support multiple inputs at once. but honestly how many things can we really focus on at a single time? why waste screen space for a console and a pc at the same time when you can either just use the console or the pc? the screen size, brightness, colors, and functionality is awesome and i'm considering getting a second one. even the built-in speakers in this monitor surprised me. if you're on the fence and can be happy with using a single input source to its fullest extent, then don't hesitate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worst and most expensive monitor I've ever owned. Ive had this monitor for around 4 months. This is the worst Samsung product I've ever owned. The first issue is the single HDMI input at a time. This seems like an easy fix with an updated "one connect box" or a firmware update. No information has been released regarding fixing this issue. I'm sure some robot will post a "work around" below for a problem they created, rather than just fixing it. The second issue is the monitor randomly goes black for 4-8 seconds almost as if its looking for a signal, sometimes it'll do that 2 or 3 times in a row, and sometime it can go a whole day with no issue. Its crucial and critical to me that I have stability with my display, and this monitor cant deliver that so far. A technician was sent to my home and replaced a board and panel in the monitor, and no longer than a day the same problem occurs. They will setup another repair visit and I guess I can pray that somehow this will be resolved. This is absolutely insanely annoying. I've gone as far as to purchase 3 different HDMI Cables, all top of the line, I've tried every setting on, and off, searched every forum and corner of the internet to find a resolution, no one has one yet. For reference im using a 13900k Intel, 4090 Nvidia GPU, a brand new and strong system. The third issue is that HDR appears washed out while using G-Sync, this became an issue for owners during the last firmware update approximately 3 months ago. You have to literally turn g-sync off and back on in order to bypass the horrible white haze that washes over the screen. My advice is to stay clear of this product until they fix it or start replacing this trash with something t works.

It took me about 1.5 hours to get the monitor to even project a consistent image, albeit after turning various Nvidia and game mode settings off (which reduces performance), and even then there was constant graininess and a meager 60 hz refresh rate. One of the most over-hyped, terribly constructed software monitors I’ve ever encountered. Never dealt with any graphics issues at all on any monitor until this. Running an RTX 3090 Samsung support is utterly unhelpful, claiming it is my PC that has the issue, when all over Samsung forums people are reporting the same issue. Terrible product, buyers beware

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good only for single-tasks, no real multi-tasking Great screen, completely wasted by lack of firmware/software support & updates. This huge screen only supports one HDMI input on the screen at a time, despite having an input box that accepts multiple HDMI devices. Despite having the ability to install multiple apps, you can't set up a "multi-view" where you have multiple apps on the same screen. The only bit of multi-tasking allowed is to use an HDMI input + Youtube + Windows Extend or Mac screen share. Also, when you multi-view, refresh rate drops drastically (~60hz). The inability to multi-view with, say, a game console (HDMI) + Twitch, is ridiculous. The inability to have three computers hooked up via HDMI at the same time using Cockpit mode, is again ridiculous. This is a great screen if you use it basically as a single-input monitor / smart tv. Then it's great for office work, gaming, watching TV, movies, etc, just one-at-a-time, no true multi-tasking support. If you buy it for how it was advertised (multi-tasking), you're literally wasting money on an unsupported product that was released with false advertising.

First the picture is great quality and it does everything I want from a normal monitor, but I paid a lot for extra features and I feel like that's where I was let down and that's why 2 starts. The multiview not allowing multiple HDMI souces in the view is the biggest fail I have ever seen in a new piece of tech. What the heck were the software designers smoking to think leaving that part unfinished and releasing as is was a good idea?. What a crappy dev team this must have been. The dual remote is wonky as heck and having them be solar charging? What the heck is wrong with a dev or designer to think that having a GAMING MONITOR remote control be solar charged makes any sense at all?... WHEN HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A GAMING LAIR GLISTENING WITH SUNLIGHT! lol so I have to leave the remotes in the window for two days once every few weeks and it is always in the middle of the night when the battery goes dead lol, not a good design feature and the GUI menus that you have to control with the dual remotes are not very user friendly at all. I felt like I had a research project when I was learning to use this thing. Then there is the sheer weight of the monitor and the wonky flip design that I haven't used once for the stand. WHY DOES IT NEED TO WEIGH 100lbs? that's just nuts for a monitor these days. I think Samsung gave someone too much creative leave with this project and released what appears to be a poorly thought through and unfinished product. Just buy a 55 inch curved tv with a decent refresh rate and save the high price tag and weird design for someone else is my opinon to anyone considering this thing now that I wasted the money on it lol . Of course, if you must have a rediculous refresh rate and want to game hard on a large monitor, I was able to run Tarkov on it at max settings in 4K and it was amazing, but to me that only adds one extra star given what it was marketed as. Better luck on the revision Samsung.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful monitor but it falls short on its abili I bought the 55" Odyssey Ark to replace 3 27" 4k monitors, I do quite a bit of gaming and I wanted a bigger screen for FPS play, but I also work from home on my computer. This monitor is excellent, except, it comes up a little short on some of its capabilities, primarily related to the one connect box. First and foremost, this monitor is beautiful in its coloration and brightness (my prior monitor was a gaming 27" 4k with 144hz refresh and HDR10 and this one blows it away), but the size maybe too much for PC gaming. Since this monitor is so large it takes up almost all of the real estate on my desk, but I really want/need the functionality of at least 2 monitors for work and gaming, I was hoping with the multi display capabilities this monitor touts that it would support multiple HDMI inputs concurrently, this wasn't 1000% clear when I pre-ordered the monitor and that's on me for not double checking, however, an upgraded one connect box should be able to make this functionality (which reading through non 5 star reviews becomes abundantly clear is a desire) happen. Samsung, I love the panel, I'm not sure how I feel about this being a TV first (it really is, it just feels like some of the input stuff was tweaked for PC's), but that one upgrade to the one connect box would make this monitor an 8 out of 5 stars which, for the price, should be a goal.

This is one of the regrets I have about purchasing this craptacular monitor. 1) You can NOT use more than one HDMI port when using multiple views on the monitor. You can only use the app if you use multiple views (which defeats the purpose of the multiview feature. flickering on the monitor is unbearable, and brightness on the monitor is subpar at best. This is my biggest waste of money. Stay away from this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fails at being a multiple monitor setup replacemen Great monitor for just playing games. Unfortunately I spoke with a Samsung representative prior to purchasing this monitor. They told me the monitor was able to display multiple HDMI inputs at the same time. This information is not true. In multiview the monitor is able to display one HDMI input and multiple Samsung apps at the same time. The monitor does not support picture by picture mode which is strange. My Odyssey G7 supports PBP mode and I purchased it two years ago. I bought this monitor to replace my multiple monitor setup but unfortunately it will not work. Also when you rotate the monitor into cockpit mode the picture quality is horrible.

Its horrible for pc gaming the constant disconnects I get while playing on my computer is freaking horrible . i can be mid gameplay and the monitor would just decide to disconnect and i have to wait 2 seconds for it to find my PC again or sometimes it just losses connection entirely and i have to unplug the hdmi and connect it back and set it up again manually every time i really wanted to love it but for its price and performance its just a big TV and not a gaming monitor . Sadly i think its passed im able to return it so im stuck with it now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monitor - but has serious setbacks This monitor's display is extremely impressive. It however has some pretty bad shortcomings that I hope are fixed sooner than later. (What is great) - There are 4 HDMI 2.1 - The sound system for both Windows 10 and my consoles are so awesome that I don't even need my external speakers (Haven't used em since I got my monitor)! - Once you get used to it, the remotes feel great to tinker with. (What is terrible about this product) - You can only select one HDMI source at any time. This means that you can't launch a streaming software on your computer on HDMI_1 while gaming on a console on HDMI_2 at the same time. - There are no display ports available. This means that I can't use my display cable to achieve at least the 240hz my previous smaller montor can reach. At a max, I can only reach 120hz, and thats only if my device supposorts HDMI 2.1. - Supporting the previous two points, the software on the loading dock thing with the HDMI ports is terrible. My graphics supports HDMI 2.0 only. I purchased a DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adapter that goes from my computer and to the loading dock. It then takes me through trouble shooting because the block doesn't instantly recognize my adapter. Once done with troubleshooting, it works as intended, at least until I switch HDMI sources from PC to Console, then back again. Once switched back, it doesn't recognize the PC port and I have to do the troubleshooting steps to recognize it once more. (Suggestions and Requests) While I still enjoy this monitor, I can't recommend this for power users as myself to other users until these things are fixed: - Allow multiple HDMI sources to be used. If fixed, allow picture-in-picure mode for the multiple sources. - The loading dock is limiting and hindering my capabilities as a content creator. Being limited to 60hz due to it not recognizing my once recognized display port 1.4 to HDMI (With the HDMI going onto the loading dock), I am not able to achieve 120hz without having to recalibrate it.

Poor customer service, + Monitor looks great. - Ark Dial remote went bad after 6 months, now I've been waiting for over 4 months for a replacement. - Customer service: I've spent 10+ hours on phone calls with customer service only to be told (on the last call) that they do not have the part, it is on back order -- for a new product! - Functionality: you will only be able to use the screen split for one (1) wired input, and limited to a few app based inputs (forget most streaming services)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Abandoned like all the others I've had this monitor since it came out and I agree with everything else that's been written in terms of missing functionality. It's painfully clear that Samsung either made no effort to, or ignored, any feedback from early testers of the product. Pretty much everyone here with a comment brings up the simultaneous multi-HDMI issue so it's easy to think that any focus groups or beta testers of this hardware before it was released passed along the same comments which Samsung promptly ignored. Oh, and many months in since product release, no driver updates (hi Windows 11) and no firmware updates. In typical Samsung fashion I doubt we will see much if any updates on this. I'm not sure if they feel their product is perfect out the door and don't bother or if they simply abandon all their new products once released but this is typical behavior.

Samsung’s customer service is actually far worse than the horror stories all over the internet. Their CS is truly unimaginably bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome/but not awesome at the same time It’s awesome! Awesome because… well You have the monster odyssey ark. Just the name of it is awesome. As far as functionality and all the “cool” features it holds….. not so awesome… I bought the ark for gaming and work use. Overall it’s a good monitor, BUT not worth the 3000 price tag AT ALL. Personally I think it’s worth nothing more than 1500. The two main reasons why I bought it is for the gaming experience of course and for the multi screen function. What I didn’t know is you can only use SAMSUNG apps for multi screen. You can’t use 2 different HDMI ports, you can’t use different apps, and it defeats the purpose of the function in my opinion. The tv channels that Samsung offers are very weak and the integrated Xbox feature doesn’t carry over your games from your original account. So you would have to BUY the games you already own in order to play them or pay for the expensive membership. Overall, it’s a good monitor. Really helps me with working since it’s such a big screen and I always have a lot of tabs open all at the same time. There are a lot of other things I can continue to touch on about it, but overall If you could land this monitor for 1500 or less, awesome HIGHLY recommend. Anything over that price tag tho, I would HIGHLY NOT recommend. I promise you it’s not worth it and you’ll kind of question yourself if you spent too much money on it.

The picture quality has made me want to watch movies, play games, do anything on it. The speakers on the back are amazing as well and the curve is perfect at the right distance. Best purchase I ever god so far from Samsung. Glad I got one.

It definitely is not a monitor having just HDMI connectivity which completely takes away from the use of the full graphics card. I was VERY disappointed when it came to that section of the device. Other than that, as a gaming TV, it is the best of the best. Tue curve is a monster and the fact of its size and quality picture for gaming is unmatched! I wish it was set up to be a monitor. I am waiting for tue 57 inch one which has a DisplayPort connection. Now that is what I am talking about!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has potential but comes with many issues. I was very excited to replace my 43" Gigabyte 4k monitor with the Odyssey Ark but I had no idea the journey that lay ahead of me. First off it took quite a long time to get the monitor despite it being "in stock" and getting customer service to help me was a nightmare. I did get the monitor eventually but setting it up was my next hurdle. The two screws that hold the arm to the back of the monitor had nothing to screw into. Not sure it its missing a mounting plate or if it broke off inside the monitor during shipping. Right now its only being held in by the plastic tabs so I dare not try to rotate the monitor. The next hurdle was getting tech support to understand by screw issue and to get a service ticket. That took WAY longer than needed(over a week of going back and forth) but I eventually got a ticket issued. Now its been a week since the ticket issue but have yet to hear from the service provider. Lastly I do have issues playing some games where the monitor loses its connection. Im am unsure if this is a defect or a driver issue. My gut tells me its the One Connect box. It gets rather hot and thats about when I start losing connection. Now if these issues get fixed, the screen is drop dead gorgeous. It brings a whole new level to PC gaming. Also the sound is surprisingly good for a flat-screen. I hope my issues get fixed soon so I can enjoy this screen fully. For the amount of money I paid, I shouldnt have to go through this.

There are only HDMI inputs and the latest and greatest HDMI spec does not support 165Hz@4K. Even using the best "Ultra High Speed HDMI" cable, I get video dropouts unless I force the refresh rate down to 120Hz. What a shame... it seems this product was built with an inherent handicap in it's design.

The screen resolution is outstanding. The set up was a little challenging just how heavy the monitor is. I'm using 3 setups for it. in vertical mode I'm using it for work because I can pretty much simulate 3-4 monitors on it plus in addition to 2 other monitors that I have which sets me up with about 6 monitors. And, finally, I get enough space for all the apps I'm running (on average I'm running around 10-15 apps at the same time and I do need as much space as I can get). In horizontal mode I'm using it for games and trust me nothing beats it when you play fps or simulator. in flight simulator you get the feeling like you are actually there paired it with 165 refresh rate it is a beast.

I would return it if i could just due to complications with support and risk i was unaware of before purchase. The monitor is nice, I used it every so often after fully setting it up a couple months after purchase (I tested it prior). There were no issues until recently, I started using it daily. The monitor has never been mounted or on the stand it comes with, but I was listening to music when one of the panels turned black and a white line through it. I attempted to turn it off and back on and reconnect it, but it wasn't going away. I spent weeks trying to contact support, finally had the ability to speak to someone after it was worsened just by being turned on yesterday. Support said the damage wasn't under warranty due to it being hit / self-damaged. It was not, but their word against mine at this point. Estimated repair was $800-$900. I believe that there was an initial manufacturer damage and was worsened as the temperature shifted so drastically where I am. Curved monitors have increased risk, but based on the photo I offered, they cannot tell. To their credit, it does look like it cracked internally on impact, so unfortunately, I just have a damaged monitor until I can pay another stack of money out of pocket or I sell it second-hand. I own other products from Samsung, so I am assuming it's the risk of a curved display. I appreciate the ONE employee that gave me the information I needed to talk to get ahold of someone, even if it was disappointing results. I am not the only on with this issue throughout other forums, so I assumed they'd have knowledge on this issue too. Unless you can afford to risk of losing the money, it's not worth it, unfortunately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Large Gaming Monitor v1-Expected Feat. A Miss 55" Ark Monitor is very unique in itself. Used by me for switching between gaming, work productivity, and occasional smart tv usage. With it's large size, It is placed on a corner desk that provides enough distance for immersed usage. Colors are vivid and no need to worry about screen burn in. Pairs perfectly with my RTX 4090 card on its HDMI only connection for 4k at 166 Hz. As a stand alone curved monitor, it is great and also offers easy rotation to a vertical screen "Cockpit" mode. Unfortunately, it has some short comings, mainly having to do with Multi-view as a stated feature: Although it is great that it can hook up to 4 HDMI devices at one time, "for cable management" - capability only allows 1 HDMI to display at a time in multi-view mode; remaining multi-views shared (Upto 4 views total in horizontal / 3 views vertical) are some smart-tv apps or wireless screen mirroring from phone and/or delayed apple, pc streamed connections. So for the expected thought or feature promise of this v1 monitor replacing the space of multiple smaller monitors or having Multi-view to display more than 1 input at the same time in a large, extremely heavy, HDMI only input, pricey, monitor - it currently is a miss. Hence the 3/5 stars as that can be a heavy driving decision to purchase this model. If there is an actual future multi-view fix upgrade via firmware or hardware than I would rate this 6/5 stars for Samsung showing support to early adopter customers. Besides that, it is great!!!

Instead of trying to solve them, Samsung launched the second generation and solved most of them in the new products. defects, and the discounted price is actually less than half of the original one. Samsung! You should recall the first generation and be responsible to the earliest users. Your product is garbage and you have no integrity! Just wait for a class action lawsuit!

Very big and immersive looking, and would be excellent for a video editing monitor. My eyesight is not what it use to be. I would like a tall, curved, computer monitor...Not a loooong wide curved monitor. Those monitors are too shallow for me.
