You connect it with the included optical cable and the Samsung tv automatically finds it and directs the sound there. You can then control it from your tv remote. Just be sure when you set it up so the Samsung name is facing up. It’s easy to be confused and point the speakers down and muffle the sound. You will know it’s right when you can read the display as you face the tv. Finally, try setting the subwoofer at different settings in your room. I like -6. It’s so powerful if it’s cranked up too loud it’s overwhelming. The “adaptive sound” setting seems like the best setting for balancing clarity in voice conversations while still having booming sound in music and movies.If you decide later you want rear channels there is a wireless rear channel kit that adds two more speakers that connect wirelessly to this soundbar.

My only gripe is that the sound changes significantly during commercials and when streaming, some platforms are much better at processing the sound that others. This issue is only present when using the sound bar and not an issue when using the regular TV speakers. So I am not sure if it's a setup problem or just the quality of the sound bar. But over all really good sound and the best use is when connecting my phone through Bluetooth. The sound is AMAZING and best when used as a Bluetooth speaker.

Both TV shows and music are so clear on this soundbar. It was very easy to connect to my TV but I do not have bluetooth, so I just used the included optical cable. It was very simple and also pairing the subwoofer with the sounderbar was a piece of cake. I really like the streamline design and that there are no visible buttons. The remote is easy to use and it is also easy to pair with my phone just so I can play music. This soundbar will be great for dinner parties or when I have friends over for movie night. I am very pleased with this product.

I love how everything Bluetooths right to my TV, game system, phone and tablet so right out of the box it took under 5 minutes to have everything up and running. The sound from the soundbar is really clear when I'm watching movies and the bass doesn't drown out the dialog in the movie or tv show. I love how convenient it is to Bluetooth my phone to this soundbar and be able to listen to music with big sound instead of the small interior phone speakers.

Bought it as a bedroom HT and it works great , however I was surprised that Samsung has removed the HDMI connectivity from this entry model. HDMI (ARC) was available in the previous model, that also sounds great, have one on my home office TV by the way, but this model just has the optical cable option for physical conx., which I have skipped and connected it via Bluetooth. But frankly, if I realized that before buying, I would opt to buy the previous model (HW-A45C) instead. But if this is not a show stopper for you, I really recommend this little sound bar, it sounds great, has a wireless sub , can optionally support wireless surround speakers and has a super affordable price. Its a great buy in general.

I was concerned that the instructions were too short but it was so simple. I chose to set up my soundbar with the included wire versus Bluetooth. The set up took less than 2 minutes and the subwoofer connected automatically after I plugged it in. Everything was ready to go. The sound is very clear and the system is user friendly. It comes with a.remote that is also simple and user friendly. My TV with the bar sounds so much better than my TV alone does. I'm looking forward to many future movie nights.

It took a few try's to get everything working as i am not a techy but the effect is so much better !

We have a beautiful big tv but had a big problem because the sound was awful.. the music and bangs were way too loud and the speech was too soft. Then there were the adverts which seemed like they were on full blast.. This speaker set had been amazing! After 2 minutes plugging this in, the first thing we noticed was the bass . It's very very good but not over the top. The mid range sound is just sensational, it's pure quality! We no longer scramble to the remote everytime an advert comes on! It really has transformed our tv and movie watching experience and we are never going back to tv sound! We have also started steaming music through these via Bluetooth because they sound so nice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worst customer service and a bad subwoofer. after about a month of owning this, the subwoofer just stopped working. i have been in contact with samsung for 30 days to try and get it resolved. one csr promised to send a shipping label that never arrived, so i created a ticket online and sent in the subwoofer. it's under warranty but still it cost me $22.73 to send it in. now it's lost. tracking said it arrived 8 days ago, and samsung can't tell me where it is. i just want a refund at this point so i can get rid of this soundbar and go get a better one from a company that knows how customer service works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for sports/TV this sound bar packs a much bigger sound than your standard tv. it is excellent for tv and watching sports or even gaming i'm sure. it has good base and amplification of sound, while providing more detail than your tv. the dialogue is very difficult to hear with movies, and i returned it because of that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boom for the Buck! The Samsung soundbar is fantastic. I haven't bought a soundbar in a few years because the ones I've had before less than desirable. The Samsung A450 is fantastic! The setup is quite simple. It's a decent size, and it fits well beneath my 65-inch screen on my TV stand. I used the optical wire that came with it to connect it to the television (which others I have looked at did not come with), so I utilized the Bluetooth for my children’s music stations on Pandora. The subwoofer is excellent phenomenal bass and boom for movies, and the sound is fantastic. I've got it hooked up to my TV and I'm enjoying viewing all of my streaming content on it. It's almost as if you're in a movie theater. I haven't even changed the settings because it sounds great in the default settings out of the box.

I have put it on every setting possible and still have to turn it up pretty loud to hear. It had a nice design and is easily connected with Bluetooth but it doesn't do as well as I had hoped.

It's sleek design is very modern unlike other soundbars that are bulky eyesores. When guests are over they always inquire about the pitch perfect sound. This product is a must.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound on a budget After about 2 months of putting this system through a broad range of scenarios, I finally decided that I have a firm grasp on its pros and cons. Where the sound bar and subwoofer really shine is in high vocal mixing with mid range background effects and tracks. The sound bar was able to keep the voices clear, crisp, and understandable without losing quality from the effects and background tracks. While it struggles with loud effects (explosions and hard hitting background) with a distortion, it isn't overbearing as long as you back down the bass settings a few notches. At a range of about 18-20' away from out couch, the sound was enjoyable and clear. For the gamers out there, definitely back down the bass and boost your mids a notch to keep the sound balanced out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No way to turn off Auto-on feature i would have given this a 5 star review were it not for the annoying issue of the unit auto powering itself on constantly. the issue lies with the optical input. if you have anything plugged into it, the unit will power up, time out after 60 minutes and then power up again, and then time out in 60 min. only way to fix it is to unplug the optical cable. very annoying, and tech support was not very helpful in finding a way to turn off the auto-on feature. other soundars have that functionality, not sure why it is missing from this one.

After the Samsung Specialist responded to my review with instructions on how to synchronize the sound through the Tv settings with the soundbar, it now sounds much better. Had i known this was all that needed to be done, I wouldnt have posted my original review. Overall the soundbar is easy to use, and it is worth the money.

(eventually, i'll update my old but as long as my old samsung is still working, no need to rush). i love the ability to expand from using the t.v. speakers to using a sound bar with subwoofer to allow for the audio sound like i'm at a movie theater. the bass is amazing. (i'm a fan of all samsung products.) overall, if you're looking for great sounds, i suggest this item.

So I can use it for movies, shows and connect my phone to listen to music. I will say it sound AMAZING for music! Really the only con I have is for live television with commercials, the commercials play a lot louder. It's not noticeable on regular TV speakers so I am not sure if this is a software issue or if I just don't have it configured correctly. Pretty easy to set up! Overall, great price and value. Happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ugh i am having difficulties with set up. also -- i think you really really need to view the extended manual to set this up -- and i had to do a 20 minute chat to get a link to the manual. i can't get the tv or cable remote to control the volume. i finally did see in the manual that you have to click the volume button up or down to control the volume - but who would think to do that???? now i see that by clicking the woofer up and holding it up for 5 seconds should give me a choice -- that does not work. and by clicking the circle button to the left is another thing that should do something and that does not work. omg this is amazingly difficult.

My favorite setting is surround sound, and -4 woofer setting from the remote control. I have the woofer placed under the sound bar for the best listening quality on my 65" Samsung TV that I purchased 3 days earlier. My friend liked it so much that he is going to buy the same everything and wants me to be the one to set it up for em. So its not just me.

I have had an amazing Samsung TV since last year and since it is so amazing, I wanted the full theater experience. Boy have I found that with this awesome soundbar! Set up was so easy that my boyfriend and I did it in no time. Bluetooth capabilities make connecting the soundbar to the subwoofer and the tv easy peasy! The surround sound is clear and just simply wonderful. Even the boyfriend who is hard of hearing keeps bragging about how he can understand every word during TV shows. And playing music thru this soundbar is amazing. I felt like I was at a live show! This soundbar truly is changing our listening lives!

This one is excellent! The setup is super easy. It is a nice size it fits perfectly on my television stand under my 65 inch television. I connected it to the television with the optical cable that came with it so I haven't used the Bluetooth yet but I plan to. The subwoofer is very good also the sound is amazing. I have it connected to my television and I am enjoying watching movie's with it . It Is almost like being at a movie theater. I haven't even adjusted the settings it sounds good just the way it is. I also listened to my amazon music with it and the sound is way better than my speaker that I always use so I plan to use the soundbar from now on. I would definitely recommend this soundbar.

E-ARC is very important in my living room for all the different device connect there, but my bedroom is not that type of central hub. So the fact that everything syncs, sounds great with music, and my music games just work flawlessly on this sound bar has made the Samsung 450A the best purchase for my bedroom.

I really enjoy the sound and the settings it has on it. The bass speaker is amazing and will blast you out of the room if you want it to! Just like indoor theater. I keep it turned down quite a bit and it still plays the deep bass perfectly. All in all , we are very happy with it.

Sometimes watching older movie we would have to turn the TV sound way up in order to hear it. This has made a huge difference. The subwoofer does hit and makes our dog bark with the bass. The Subwoofer has high quality audio output, and the bass hits hard with out any distortion in sound. I love the different setting like Bass Booster, Gaming, and Surround. It was very easy to put set up. I used the optical cable for setup since my TV does not have Bluetooth, and it was very easy. This sound bar and subwoofer do not connect via WIFI or HDMI so make sure your device is cable of Bluetooth or has and optical input. It also does not have Alexa capabilities. The sound bar is very easy to mount and looks amazing. I have been using this system primarily for streaming movies, music, and gaming. The size is perfect for building high-performance computing systems. I definitely recommend this system for it's high quality audio and ease of operation.

Paired with Bluetooth it's made the sound so much better than just the tv. I never realized what we were missing. Instructions are a little lacking, feel these should be improved for the technologically lacking individuals. Looking forward to taking to our new home with the larger tv room, this will be awesome and can bring the sound throughout the room for a great experience! An odd comment, but the packaging is a little odd, but that's the items that are in it. Thanks for another great product Samsung.

Out of the box, it is packaged well, easy to set up, has everything needed to have a fantastic family movie night. Be the hero your family needs with this sound bar with wireless sub. The included optical audio cable makes the connection from the TV a breeze to setup. It includes wall mount brackets, which we didn’t use since our tv sits on our dresser, so the sound bar sits in front of it. The wireless sub can sit by the dresser and provide wonderful sound that fills the room, or next to the bed and feel that home theatre feeling as it rumbles next to us. Same would be by our living room TV and couch setup if we preferred, except that TV optical audio currently doesn’t work, so we tested on our newer TV. The system also has built-in Bluetooth, easy to pair as well, and ready to party in a matter of minutes. Overall the system feels durable, easy to read the display lettering on the front white leds that illuminate the sound choices. The sound fills the room and makes movie night all worth watching, and semi drowns out the kids, they never stop talking though. Better than our built in TV audio, and the sound quality we’ve been looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great starter for ppl with UHD Crystal T I bought this from Amazon and it was easy to hook up to my Samsung ‘43 Chrystal 4K television. The sounds incredible while watch with the smart tv features as well as using a ultra player. This is great for gaming systems like PlayStation 5, Xbox Obe and PS4. The woofer had a incredible sound as well. This is the perfect one for those who are looking for a soundbar for a room as well as for living room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Soundbar I consider myself to be a tech enthusiast and it is important that I have the latest technology which, in terms of sound systems, means it is important to me to have an immersive home theater experience. The Samsung Series A soundbars combine the trustworthiness of the Samsung brand with the technology to deliver amazing audio fidelity all at a reasonable price. The wireless subwoofer delivered a resounding bass while the Bass Boost feature gave an instant boost at the most opportune times. Setting up the soundbar was a breeze with the Bluetooth TV connection, which allows you to easily connect your soundbar to your TV wirelessly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sound in such a small setup I bought this originally as a temporary setup for my gaming computer. I later found out some additional features that allowed to use it for more than just that. I now Bluetooth my phone to the system before bed and I can actually hear my alarms on my phone now instead of sleeping through them.

I bought this to replace a Bose Cinemate Series that was more than double the price and it's equally just as good if not better due to it's smaller size and it's sound being just as good making it better. Definitely would recommend this vs. Bose. With Bose although Samsung is also a touted name brand, with Bose it's mostly for the name.

I no longer find myself constantly adjusting the volume as I’m watching a movie. I plan on purchasing a second sound bar for our other tv. Thanks, Samsung!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad experience I bought it in December 2022 and from the start it had cut-offs to the sound, every few minutes for 1 second. After a week like that I couldn't take it anymore when during an action scene it stopped the audio again. I returned it to the store I bought it from,and after a check they did they found it's a faulty device.

The thing I like the most about it is it's plug and play and I don't have to worry about setting up extra speaks and/or wires. I just wish that it came with a little LCD display.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Subwoofer is not working The sound bar works ok for me. However the subwoofer doesn't connect. I tried customer support and from what they said i have the wrong subwoofer model (PS-WA45G) to my sound bar(HW-A450/ZA), that was the reason why it doesn't work according to support line. When i purchased, they came together as a package deal - sound bar that comes with Subwoofer. Now with the wrong subwoofer model, i am not be able to use it. I cannot trade in or replace, my warranty is expired and i cannot return. Just from the manufactor's mistake and i am stuck with a subwoofer that doesn't work. Samsung doesn't do anything to support resolving this matter and I dont know if i want to purchase any other items from them.
