I liked my pervious Flip 5G but sometimes struggled with the battery life, especially later in my day. Samsung has eliminated this problem with the Galaxy Flip 4. I am also impressed with the screen and camera improvements. I am extremely happy with this phone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Improvements Over Z Flip 3 I bought this Z Flip 4 to replace my Z Flip 3 that I traded in. The most noticeable improvement is battery life. I use my phone for texts calls and keeping up with the news. I don't use it to play games or watch videos. A charge lasts me at least two days. The crease in the middle is slightly less noticeable with the change in the hinge design... but it was never an annoyance anyway for me. The best part still, is the form factor.. closed it takes a lot less room in my pocket on in the console tray in my car.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun Phone! I had the ZFlip3 5G before the 4, I absolutely love this line of phones! They are packed with cool little features that you don't usually get with normal phones, making its daily use a unique experience! The front screen is super functional, perfect for checking texts and notifications, controlling music, and checking calendar tasks all without having to open the phone. The only reason why I don't give this a 5 star review is because my previous one gave me issues with the screen after a year of daily use. I'm hoping with the noticeably more rigid design of the Flip4 this issue doesn't persist. If it does, sadly I don't think I would keep buying them if I have to get them replaced each year...but that's totally understandable! This is new tech and to do it at the level Samsung is doing is really impressive. They might have rushed the product a little bit before perfecting the folding screen, but the tendency is for it to get better with each iteration. With all the years and different models Samsung has put out since the first flip, I believe they're in a good position to have an excellent product. P.S.: The battery life is another con...compared to most devices out there. You can get almost a full day max usually.

It needed to be pocketful. Now I have a phone that l can drive with this in my pocket, and it's got a 6.7 in screen. With all the functionality of the best of the best. Prior to the z flip 4, if samsung had asked me what I wanted in a phone, this would be it. Thanks Samsung

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful so far This product is pretty much exactly the same as what I had with the ZFlip3 so I cannot complain. However, my Flip3 started running into issues with the fold (Cracks forming on the crease) after 9 months of use. There is no option for fixing besides sending my phone to Samsung for a week since uBreakiFix did not have the proper tools to fix it. That is a horrible experience but I love the phone.

The Z Flip4 is faster, has several other nice new features, is beautiful, and I even like the ring on the cover (which I didn't think at first I'd l like). Good job, Samsung! And, oh yeah, my wife liked it so much she switched from an iPhone to the Z Flip4.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite Foldable Yet I've now owned five Samsung Foldables, two Galaxy Z Folds and three Galaxy Z Flips and the Z Flip4 is by far the best one yet for portability and performance. I went with the Bespoke model combining Khaki with a gold frame and it turned out great. I kind of wish I didn't feel the need to cover it up with a case! Day to day performance has been great and the battery tweaks versus the Z Flip3 are much appreciated. Samsung is really turning Foldables into a viable option for everyone. If you're tired of the same old slabs coming out year after year, it's time to "come into the fold!"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought for convenience but love the features. I initially got this model because of the convenient size. But the more I use it, the more I'm falling in love with it. At first, I worried about battery life because it was draining fast. It must have just been stuff running to set the phone up or something because a couple of days later the battery was lasting all day and still having 60+ percent remaining. Even a day out with the family and taking videos and pictures all day I came home with 30% battery left. This phone also has the best bluetooth I've had. Very quickly connects and has great range. Flipping the phone open may be inconvenient for frequent users, but the cover screen shows alerts so you can decide if you want to open it. Simple texts can be read and answered without opening it, so I don't often have to flip it open.

Such as my wallet, keys, etc. Now that I have this phone and I can pretty much hang it around my neck with my lanyard during work it frees up more space in my pockets for other things I may carry around. Great for minimalist and people alike. Great buy.

You will need a cover if buying the purple one, it is very slick and hard to hold onto without one. Battery was a concern, but not any longer. It has done very well. I have no complaints with this phone at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I love it! I was hesitant about getting this phone. My previous phone was the Note 20 and I used my stylus alot (this was my 4th note phone). I have missed my stylus some, but I have purchased 3rd party stylus's that work fine. I love that this phone folds and I can hook it to a lanyard around my neck (with a case that has an attached ring) and it's not too heavy. I like that it's slightly taller than my note, but more narrow, so it fits more comfortably in my hand. I like the fingerprint reader on the side where my thumb rests instead of on the screen. I like being able to see notifications while it is folded. I like the premium look and feel overall of the phone. I look forward to learning more features that will be useful to me. I am happy with it. I did not see myself changing from a note.

I purchased this phone directly from Samsung and was initially worried about the durability of the phone but after owning it for almost 2 months I can say those fears are gone! I'm not the hardest on my devices but I don't necessarily baby them either. I do have Samsung care+ in case anything does happen. Overall I feel that Samsung gave me such a great deal and wonderful customer service. I switched from an iPhone/Apple Watch to a Galaxy/Galaxy Watch and I'm never going back! Customizations and cool tricks like removing objects from pictures (it's not just for the pixel phones!) have won me over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ughh!!!! Dropped it once. Totaled it. As another reviewer said, the screen came out from under the left hinge. Couldn't open the phone all the way after that. Each time I tried to open it, the screen pulled away more. When it pulles away, it turns black. When it's black, you can't press buttons on the screen to be able to transfer data to a new phone. Had to write Google to turn off the double verification. That took a week. Traveled to 2 different AT&T stores a total of 4 times until I was able to find someone competent who was able to transfer data from an older saved version the phone I had before the Z Flop4.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have zero complaints with my flip phone I purchased a new Galaxy flip phone about a month ago basically because I kept cracking the screen on my S10. I figured that an enclosed screen would hold up way better. I also wear a Dexcom device and I needed a phone which would connect to the Dexcom transmitter and I was amazed that it did. The phone does have a decent camera and I don't see any issue with the screen where it folds. I'm quite happy with this phone and how small it is folded and in my pocket

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Delicate I bought two of these in October and I am going to get rid of them as soon as I can. Both have had cases on them. One was a samsung case. One was a case from Verizon. I've had to replace both phones. One was from a 2 foot drop with the case on. It landed on the hinge, would not open fully, and something was poking the screen from the inside and took the screen out completely. The second phone was not dropped and started doing this spontaneously. I was promised the hinge and screen issues were taken care of but they have not been. My mother also bought this phone and has had the same thing happen. I will not buy another flip or fold and even the brand is now debatable to me. I've bought nothing but Samsung products but this one has cost me and has been the worst product I've bought in a long time.

It changes the way you interact with the phone, often I find I don't open my phone all day just checking the little notification screen which is great and a huge way to save staring at the phone and wasting time. With the above said, out of nowhere, my hinge stopped working, and even though I have extended warranty it's a whole process to get a phone replaced, now that Samsung is going back to having phones with mechanical failure potential they need to do better with allowing repairs and getting same day repairs in every city. My only option now that my hinge broke, is to send it in for a warranty repair wait two weeks and then get it back. Who can be without their phone for 2 weeks?

The point of the flip phone is you don't have to open it to check messages. This phone is zippy. Lasts all day unless you start playing games or watching movies. It fits in my pocket and everyone asks about it. I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hinge broke after a couple months I bought this phone when it first came out in September and it was good for a few months but then the hinge just stopped working and the phone would not open all the way. It would stop half-way through opening and the touchscreen on the top half of the screen would not work. After about a day, the screen turned black when I touched it and would not work at all. I took it to the Samsung store to try to get it fixed but they refused to help me and told me to come back in two weeks. I've seen several reviews with this same issue happening to other users, yet customer service refuses to acknowledge the issue with the phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Folding is the future and the future is fragile Folding aspect is very novel. I like flex mode, hands free selfie gestures and pocketability. Bought this a month ago unlocked on trade from s21 for only $200 so great value with Samsung promotions. Fast processor, one ui 13 is great and very functional Drawbacks: Fraglie, poor battery life and average camera is that I have never thought so much about a phone before. When a device is new, Ive owned a lot of them, you are a little careful initially but then it becomes part of your life and you just live with it. This phone is a constant concern. Will today be the day I drop it and break the hinge? Will my fingernail scratch the screen? Is the hinge indent getting deeper? Will it last until tonight or do I need it on a charger? Will that photo look muddy or blurry or just not sharp enough to share? I also tried six cases and finally just settled on a basic one so it remains slim. I got Samsungcare but still worry about it if anyone touches it or I take it out over a hard floor or try to use it one handed. I never worried like this about my s21. Battery life is also not great. It needs a charge every 3 hours or it dies. I have wireless chargers everywhere and one in the car and I still worry if it will make through the day with light use. I got it with a s21 trade through Best Buy for 256gb for $200. That represents excellent value and a great upgrade. At 1000, I don't think the value is there right now with these drawbacks. TLDR: Great piece of technology, turns heads and has some unique features but poor battery life, middlidle of the road camera and fragility keep it at the front of your mind, which degrades the experience if you are always worried about it. Way too expensive to be this breakable.

I bought a replacement through my phone providers insurance which cost me $105.00 of a deductible just zo I could have a phone again. I want my money back!!!! Samsung is great with design, but horrible quality!!!!

I live in an area that doesn't have a cell tower nearby, so I can finally make calls and text using the Wi-Fi calling. Like so many others, my only complaint is the battery life. It only lasts for about 24 hours. Great phone overall. Has all of the bells and whistles that one could possibly want.

Phone is very fast and responsive moving among tasks, Display is bright and beautiful. Build quality feels very solid. I have had zero issues to date. I honestly am still learning all the different things you an do with the phone while partially or fully folded. Also like how seamlessly it interacts with the watch. I get numerous positive comments o the phone and Co workers want to play around with it often. As I said my first Samsung phone and I am indeed impressed.

The phone is fast, the screen is great, and the software works very well. My only complaint is the camera. Its just not great, and while I realize this isn't a 22/23 Ultra, it should be better. If they update the camera and make it as great as their other phones cameras, it would definitely be a 5 Star phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More hype than function I was always fascinated by the smart flip phone. Previously my favorite phone ever was a Motorola Razor. The z Flip 4 has failed to impress me. It sacrifices battery and processor speed for the novelty of a flip phone. Storage is also sacrificed. This is the first generation for a flip phone so hopefully it will improve. I only changed to this phone because it was free. It has also been difficult to find a good screen protector that sticks well or doesn't crease at the hinge.

I had a flip 3 for years no problems evidently they changed the hinges and mine broke in less than 24 hours the first time 5 days in the shop waitin for parts last night 22DAYS!!! Later it broke again same thing hinges!! Very dissatisfied with this phone had Samsung for last 9 hrs might have to go to Apple today

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Screen Protectors on Z3/Z4s are problemmatic Avoid the Samsung Z3/Z4 Flip and Fold phones as the factory installed screen protector is subject to air bubbles anywhere from 24 weeks to 54+ weeks and it'll cost you to have it replaced. I was very happy with my Z3 up to the 46th week of ownership. I noticed it had developed an air bubble under the protective cover. It wasn't bad and I was very busy, so I decided to put up with it. Within the next 6-8 weeks, 2 more bubbles developed and Samsung refuses to cover the cost of replacing the screen protector.

First lasted just over a month and hinge broke without being dropped or handled rough in any capacity, the failure prevents device being opened fully, barely halfway even. Replacement's hinge just gave out Tuesday, failing in the same capacity without a drop or rough handling. The device is great when the hinge isn't broke. I'm going to get this unit replaced and give it one more chance, if I end up with it failing again, then I will change to another model and possibly brand.

Luckily it's also incredibly durable which helped in several scenarios. I think it's safe to say that I won't be going back to a non-foldable phone after this.

Once pre-sales were open I ordered my flip 4 and seems any problem with the second one were resolved. I cannot believe the cpu speed. And the battery life on this one it's incredible. I had spent time on hulu on my phone listened to podcasts for 10 hrs straight and had 46 percent battery life left when I got home!

I upgraded to the Flip 4 as soon as it was available and it has only been improved in all aspects. These phones are amazing and I tuck it away in my pocket when I don't use it. I'll never go back to a slab phone.

Smaller folded size permits better belt placement... and the camera software has been more than a typical user would ever need! No problems with signal strength from the towers (ATT), and quality send/receive for all calls!

The screen is bright and beautiful, the device looks great, but after 2 weeks of use, one of the bezel bumpers fell off the bottom corner of the front of the device. I sent the device in to Samsung and after a week, the device was sent back, but the bumper was not replaced. Ugh.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent power to portability ratio. This is the third flip in the Z fold line I have owned and they are getting better with every iteration. There is something to be said about having a big screen phone as capable as the Z Flip 4 in your hands and being able to fold it up to where it doesn't feel like you have a tablet stretching out your pocket. I have used the phone overseas and it has held up quite nice and without any hiccups. Now given this phone is meant for someone like me who is on the go a lot and wants something ultra portable. The cameras are good for fun and personal use, and I wouldn't use it in very harsh conditions as to the somewhat fragile nature of the screen. In all however I enjoy the form factor the most, no complaints on the snappiness of the processor, and the battery lasts a full day for me. I am not ever going back to the traditional bar phone again after getting used to the foldable nature of this phone. I can guarantee that this phone will be a joy to own, a good conversation starter, and durable enough for every day use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go big or go home What an upgrade! As a die-hard Samsung user I clung to my Galaxy S8 for 6 years. I really did not care to upgrade until my little train that could- could no longer keep up with my multi-tasking needs. I upgraded to the z flip 4 (go big or go home) and I have 0 regrets. The phone is unique, the color is beautiful, and it has the capacity to keep up with a busy life. I have had it for about 3 weeks and haven't had any issues at all. It pairs seamlessly with my other Samsung devices and the many pictures of my cat that I like to take are perfectly fine. It is no Galaxy S 22 ultra but I didn't buy the phone for the camera, so that's not an issue for me. I also have no issues with the long screen when opened. I have big hands and find the phone screen suits me just fine.

The flip4 seems to be ok so far as ut has been modified to withstand 200k openings and closings. I really like the compact nature and the screen as it feels different than the regular glass screens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Conversation Starter!! I pre-ordered Flip4 256 GB unlocked phone directly from Samsung and this phone is truly amazing. I was using the Galaxy Flip4 128GB before buying this. Folding phone is truly something to be excited about. I love being able to fold my phone so it fits inside my pockets. Whenever I close my phone, people ask what phone do I have, they love it. Having so many case options plus the customizability of one ui, my phone feels like it's mines and makes my phone stand out. I love the camera and the hinges which allow to place the phone on the table and do video calls. I can't see the crease at all while looking at the phone either. Overall the Z flip 4 has been an amazing and the coolest phone I've ever had.

I look at it for someone who enjoys a big screen be also doesn't mind putting it away. I feel it's less prone to screen cracks as a top thing. I can say it's not as fast as it should be with what is powering it because coming from a s22 ultra it was faster. Hopefully with release of Android 13 they unlock the processor more for the speed it has to offer I get lag here and there on hiccups with system at times but random not often.

But guess what, it does all the things I need it to do as well as be cool...all at the same time. Does it make phone calls...yep Send texts...yep I like that my screen is protected when closed. The wireless charging comes in handy. The pictures are really good...I'm not a huge picture taker but the few I have are very crisp. Oh, and I can surf the internet to avoid eye contact with strangers while waiting at the doctor's office...basically the only reason we all own phones.

It does not function properly and Samsung wants me to send it to them and it will take over a month to replace if necessary. What do I do without a phone for that long? The ability to just pick the smaller form and talk, or see a text makes it the most convenient smart phone I've ever had. It easily fits into your pocket and never is in danger of dropping out.

The phone has gone through so many upgrades that it feels like a true flagship phone. The only downside is the screen is plastic based, which can be a downside, but my friends fold has never had any issues.

I take great care of my phones. This phone is a major disappointment.The hinge was destroyed after a minor drop while in the case. I couldn't open phone completely. The second phone had one vertical and one horizontal colored line across the screen plus the screen kept going totally black. No drop this time. Repair shop told me the case I used scratched the phone. I'm not convinced that was the issue. Let's hope the 3rd phone lasts longer than the first two. I'm out $198 through insurance for replacements! I had a Z3 flip for almost 2 years before the screen cracked. I'm not the type to upgrade frequently. The only reason I upgraded from Z3 to Z4 was because the battery life on the Z3 was horrible. This is my last Z flip. There's is no excuse for this phone to be so fragile. SAMSUNG, I expect better.

After two months, the hinge broke, uBreakIFix quoted me $550 for the repair, with no guarantee it would not break again after another two months. Horrible experience. With so many people having this problem (read other reviews or google "samsung flip 4 hinge broken"), Samsung must do a recall or offer full refund.

Went to tmobile for an insurance exchange and was told it was physical damage even though there was no accidental falls before the said occurrence. The top half od the phone had an LCD screen leak. If a phone can not take a few falls it should not of made it through quality assurance.

I thought it was really cool until the screen cracked along the crease and the top half of the screen became unresponsive. I'm going in for repair tomorrow, depending on the cost, I'd rather have a regular phone. The flip technology is just not there yet

The fact that it's foldable to become small was the first thing that caught my eye because I was looking at going smaller. But, don't let the smallness when folded fool you because you are not giving up any screen space when unfolded. Some people mentioned the fold crease would bother them, before I got mine. I don't even notice the fold crease on the screen unless I am actually looking for it. So far I am very happy with my decision to get this phone.

When I sent the phone in for repair I was told it needed a new screen and it was not covered. I would never recommend the purchase of a samsung flip product. Junk. Expensive lesson. Worthless warranty. Purchase at your own risk.

But the flip design is not ready for Prime Time. Read reviews and blogs. With a large number of the Flip 3's and hopefully to a lesser amount of the Flip 4's, the screen protectors and even the screens have had to be repaired and replaced. The screen protector breaks away from the phone at the fold crease. And for some reason the screen fails and also has to be replaced. Also the phone battery life and camera specs are less than the S Models. Bottom line nice looking phone and has the convenience of a folding phone is great. But best advice is to read reviews and do research before purchasing.

Hinge lasted 6 weeks, defective and quit working causing phone to get stuck half way open and screen to peel off and turned black in the bend. Warranty replaced it for free. Now I keep that phone at home and use my company iPhone. I’ve always loved Samsung but they are gonna end up in a class action on the flip 4.

The phone broke and is currently being repaired at a cost of at least $385. Had I known this phone was so delicate, I would never have selected it. I've had cell phones for over 20 years and have never broken one before this. I see that I'm not alone in the issues with this phone's screen and hinges being delicate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ok. I admit it! I am a Galaxy person! I love this phone and I dont see myself going back to the boring world of normal non flipping screen phones any time soon. I use this phone at work and in my personal life. At work it is convenient to be able put the phone away in my pocket. I work as a wireless specialist inside a huge department store. In short I sell phones for a living. I went with the Filp over the fold because the filp is the size of big phone when laid flat. The fold becomes the size of a small lablet when laid flat. With all that said I am a long time galaxy fan. I perfer galaxy for a few reasons 1. Most galaxy phones don't require special parts that only a specialist from Samsung can repair. 2. Customizetion can be made easily. Ex. If I wanted to add a better graphic card for gaming I could take this phone to the Geek squad. (yes apple can be customized but if you don't take it to a apple tech you run the risks of turning your iPhone into a brick. I don't like to play rush and roulette with my phones!) 3. In my opinion galaxy generally cost less than apple and still has beautiful functional products that are eye popping without being to loud.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't buy it, it has an hinge issue. Don't buy it unless you are willing to pay additional $1000 for repair. I think Flip 4 has a design flaw on its hinge. I was using Flip3 before this and never had any issue then I got Flip4 last August and its hinge broke twice already even without any drop. Don't try to open the phone when hinge makes any cracking sound, it will break the screen and cost you additional $400 to repair.

Very comfortable to carry, really decent cameras, Very long battery life and fast charge. I have had mine for over three months and no issues. I also love the small additional front screen; you can see lots of info on it without even having to open the phone and you can set it up the way you want. I also get lots of compliments on it.

They don't fit in your pockets and often fall out causing people to carry them by hand and sometimes lose them when they set them down. The Z Flip 4 fits in my pocket! The sounds are all the same, be it facebook , a sms etc. Now mine reboots itself every few minutes. I have tried safe mode, uninstalling the few apps I had added, various diagnostics, and of course checking for updates. My phone is less than a year old and does not live in a harsh environment.

The first z flip 4 stopped opening past 40 degrees after being dropped on carpet. This has been the most babied phone I’ve ever owned for fear of breaking it. For now I went back to a slate phone because the z flip 4 is an incredibly delicate phone. I used T-Mobile’s warranty to replace this device.

I have been a long-term Samsung user, so I am very disappointed. People look at my phone and say WOW, but I say that I don't recommend buying one, at least until the bugs are worked out.

HOWEVER, within 4 months the screen protector began to separate from the screen. The only way to repair this is to have an authorized Samsung repair center REPLACE THE ENTIRE SCREEN. Which takes 3-5 days IF you can find someone to do it (I've been to three authorized dealers who do not have the equipment including a Best Buy). If you try to remove it yourself, you void the warranty. Just found out that the phone is now worth only $400 on a trade in. To add insult to injury, the repair guy at Best Buy admonished me for buying a "gimmicky phone."

The hinges were made smaller on the 4 compared to the fold 3 which causes the screen to lift and blanks out the screen. In a 3 month period I have 2 of these devices and can't seem to get around this screen issue ?? I WANT MY NOTE BACK !!!!

After 5 months the battery is overheating, phone will only last 4 hours, and that's without using any apps. Currently getting the battery replace since it's under warranty, but seriously worry after warranty ends I'll have the same problem. My wife can't even carry the phone anymore in her pocket since it's heats up too and we're afraid of it catching on fire or blowing up.

But after only a few months, a black line appeared where it folds, and it just keeps getting bigger. The top of the screen won't work at all now. And it keeps opening an app without me touching anything. I loved this phone so much. I was reading that Samsung will not cover this under warranty as they blame the person who owns it for this problem. Thing is, I didn't even do anything to it. It was working fine before bed and this morning I woke up to the thick black line. Sigh. Awesome concept but problematic. Don't bother, specially since Samsung won't do anything about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flip4 won't open to see full screen I bought my Samsung galaxy flip4 3 months ago not very happy with it battery won't last long not only that one night I set my alarm clock for work the next morning and I tried to open the phone and it didn't open all the way so I requested a shipping label to send it back to get it checked and I've been checking on UPS website to see the status of delivery and and it says that delivery is in process I checked again and still says the same thing am not sure what's going on ever since Samsung came out their cellphones I've been very happy with them until now that I purchased the new Samsung galaxy flip4 and had to send it back because it wouldn't open all the way like it should to see the full screen right now am using my Samsung galaxy z fold2 until Samsung gets my flip4 and see why it won't open completely to see fullscreen.

Not a good purchase - for the amount of money I have spent on this - the screen all of sudden is not working - there is a black line on the hinge and it keeps expanding - the touch on the upper screen stopped working (and I have been handling this phone with utmost care). This phone is not worth it. I have taken it to the service center because its still under warranty but what if it happens again - I tend to use my phones for at least 3 years I highly doubt this will make it past 3 months. Don't recommend buying this phone. I WANT MY MONEY BACK.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Regrettable purchase. I bought the phone back on October. I made sure to buy a case to protect it, as it is a very expensive phone. At the end of January a small thin black line appeared where the screen bends. From there the inked line spread to over 90 percent of the screen within a day. The screen was also bubbling up in areas. I have read many reviews since I sent the phone in about this very issue. Seems the phone is not durable at all and will eventually do this. Samsung said it was a hinge issue that caused the damage and is charging 377.78 for the repair. Their reasoning is the honge issue must have been caused by the user. The phone is in pristine condition except for the screen. I have been a samsung user for around 10 years now. I converted my wife to samsung a couple of years ago, but if samsung won't stand by their product, then I won't either. Looking for a better resolution than this.

I went into the store planning to upgrade my beloved S9 to the S22, and I got sucked into the gimmick of the flip phone. What I loved, the portability of it, and that it was something new and exciting. What I did not love, it took a SMALL drop, only about 2'. I was in a seated position, and it slipped out of my pocket, and onto the floor. Despite the fact that I had a case on it, that broke the hinge, so it would only open at about a 120 degree angel. It seemed like everything else still worked, but I was quoted $450 to fix the hinge, yes, just the hinge because apparently an "inner screen" would need to be replaced too, even though nothing on the screen(s) was cracked. My own fault for not buying the device protection I guess, but I never need it. My phones generally last for years, remember I was trading in my s9 for this phone, which I used and loved for several years. Well, it did not take long for the "black screen of death" to start taking over my phone. If you haven't heard of this, google it, it is directly tied to the Z Flip 4. The phone became totally unusable, and I ended up trading it in for the new S23, which so far, I LOVE, and it is a far superior phone to the Z Flip4. I miss the flipability, but nothing else. It was a costly lesson.

I've heard people saying that the screen will split at the fold over time so I'm being super gentle with mine! Close it slowly and open it slowly with two hands. Just because it's called a "flip" phone doesn't mean to flip it open one handed because if you do flip it hard enough for it to open fully, then yes your screen is going to crack at the seam! My Z-Flip still looks like the day I bought it!

I'm now waiting for my third replacement device from Asurion. That's right, THIRD. The performance is fine. The problem is the hinge. If you breathe on it wrong, the hinge snaps and you cannot open the phone. First time: Less than 30 days after purchase, I did nothing but open the phone and there was a tiny snap and the phone locked in the half-open position! Samsung refused to honor its 30-day warranty. So I had to go to insurance. Asurion can't repair, they can only replace. Second time: legitimate drop, onto a hard concrete surface from waist height. I have a case on the phone but it shattered. The phone will no longer open past halfway. I am out hundreds of dollars in deductible fees plus the cost of the phone. This was an expensive mistake. DO NOT BUY, NO MATTER HOW PRETTY IT LOOKS. Compared to other Samsung phones which are very durable, have better overall performance and better cameras, this is not up to par and then to put such a terrible product on the market, it's a shame. All I want to do is get rid of this horrible albatross of a phone.

I got a replacement phone for it and again in two months the hinge broke. This will be my third phone replacement and it hasn't even past half a year. I had a protective case on it as well for both phones but it did no good. Samsung needs to reinforce the hinge for future models.

Never cracked a phone, and enjoyed each one for years. Now that I read the reviews, I am shocked at all the same responses. The hinge, the hinge, the hinge. Everyone loved my phone until one day I went to open it up and heard little crackles. It got stuck and when I opened it again the more I closed it was like watching a train wreck. The screen started getting black and I couldn't use the top half. I tried to call Samsung several times, horrible customer service from some off-site locations and noone could ever hear me. I filled out the warranty and the statement said they "reset to factory" once repaired. Since I could not open the phone, I was not able to transfer any of my saved texts, contacts, photos, or anything. I am super dissapointed for buying this weak phone. What is up with the HINGE? Samsung - fix this. Then, they gave me a return slip to take to a UPS store and have them verify the condition, and there are no stores around my entire location. I had to call back again and again to have someone finally give me another shipping slip and then the statement says "not responsible for damage from shipping" And to top it off, call after call to try and see how I could save my data, the service person, 3 times tried to tell me they had a great sale on the Galaxy 23 - I owe $800 on my current phone, why would I buy another? Bad customer service, bad phone, and bad choice.

Spoke to Samsung and do to it being just beyond warranty it will cost $20 to replace. I don't think so. Not after spending a grand. Why you continue to sell these phones is beyond me. I upgraded my Note 9 to Flip 4 on 9/19/22 and am now on my 3rd replacement phone. Of course, I had to weeks without a phone waiting for the replacement. You clearly know about this black screen problem. Why not fix it, or remove the Fold and Flip from your line entirely? The problem i had was that when i opened my phone the screen led a black ink out that turned more than half of my phone black and only letting the lower part work. I would recommend this phone if you handle it very carefully if not you should by a normal looking phone.

Good thing I had insurance, (cost $250 for deductable). 4 weeks later replacement phone would not open all the way. Lady in ATT store stated that is the fourth one this week that was brought in because it would not open all the way. Do not recommend purchasing this phone.

So be sure to buy a plug too. Wish i had known. Had to order on Amazon it is i believe a "C" connection. Going to see if i can find an adapter that has usb on one end and "c" connection on the other

Started with a flip3 only folded it handful of times I'm on my 2nd flip 4 have been folded but not regularly,constant problems with the screens they either start getting spots or top half fails an delaminates focused around center fold area. Turn on Google assist an screen rotate! 9hr at most battery(I stream music All Day),magnetic top attracts ANY loose magnetic objects as well as other magnetized objects mess with outter screen functions. Get a case it slides off EVERYTHING also. I would wait for the 5th or 6th version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent exotic phone, but not for everyone I bought this phone since 1 week from release date, I had a xiaomi note 8s and it was a major upgrade. Phone itself has good durability (i dropped it 3 times outdoors with case and not a scratch), a pretty decent battery life that lives up until 8pm from 8 am (if you dont use it too much) and the foldable idea is great with the software features to it (its very compact and watching youtube or filming videos are a great experience. Overall if you are not seeking for high performance and long battery life phone, but wanna try something different - this is for you. But my device's screen protector started peeling off recently right in the middle where the curve is. I dont know what caused it and how to fix it but its pretty common problem (my uncle has the same problem happened recently)

I will never buy another flip went back to my note 20. It's just not worth it lost to much for nothing. I am a big fan of Samsung but this one was junk they put together.

I wanted something smaller, practical, and useful, but something that still functioned just like my previous Samsung phones and didn't take away from anything that I was already getting. I was not disappointed. I worried a bit about the battery, but I haven't had any problems making it through the day with plenty left to spare. The crease in the screen where it folds is noticeable to touch, but hardly any at all visibly. It's not awkward or annoying feeling it there while using the phone. It's a much more practical phone and enables you to do more with the screen on the front as well as using a double screen when you fold it 90 degrees sitting on a table or something. It's also incredibly handy to just have a phone that folds up and sticks in your pocket.

The camera is amazing, the edit features built in are usually something you have to download extra apps and pay premium prices for. This pretty little thing gets lots of attention too. Every time I pull it out of my pocket and open it someone inevitably asks me about it. I'm pretty sure my Zflip 4 has convinced a couple people to move over from the phones with the fruit on them! The only thing I would change is the slim design makes handling the Zflip 4 very easy to accidentally press buttons you don't need to. The outside display is convenient and you can take pictures with it while the Zflip is closed!!! So much fun.

It feels and looks like hard premium polymer or a very clean plastic. But for the love of all that is holy. Don't put GLASS!!!!!! on the part of the phone that is designed to take a hit. Having to repair mine because alittle pressure from my keys in my pocket poked it the wrong way. That back plate(s) should be hard and durable as diamonds.

Called samsung and they want me to send phone back for repairs and be without phone for 2 weeks. This is unaccepatable. Bought new phone and expect not a phone that is defective after 4 months. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fold crease issues (RECALL SUGGESTED) We bought this phone less than 6 months ago. We were very happy with it and it's features. It's a really cool phone. However we have had to have it replaced/repaired TWICE in this period (we are heading to an authorized repair shop again tomorrow). It randomly started having issues along the fold line, with a black splotch and loss of screen function progressing over the course of a couple days until the whole screen was black. At this point we would rather get a different model however there is no option to change models under the warranty, only repair or replace with the same model. Hopefully third time is the charm. Being a new phone, I wonder if they will do a recall for this product. There is also currently no trade in option for the Z flip 4, or we would gladly trade it in for an S22 so we don't have to risk losing data/videos/pics that haven't been backed up yet.

The screen unsticks itself from the center and the phone starts going haywire until the screen stops working. 4 months and I have only been able to use the phone for an actual month. Worst decision I have ever made.

I was hoping with it's foldability, it would securely fit in my pocket reducing the risk of accidental drops. I broke the phone within the week by dropping it less than 1/2 a foot of the floor. The hinge broke and I had to get it replaced. A few weeks ago, the same thing happened with my replacement, but this time it had a very strong case on it. It broke in the same way. I WOUlD NOT RECOMMEND this product to anyone who drops their phone AT ALL. It is a very fragile phone and I am now having to regrettably end my use of Samsung phones because they are too fragile.

I actually switched from IPhone to Samsung since I was very intrigue with the flip design. WORST DECISION EVER!!! I rarely drop my phone and the one time I do from a not so high distant. The hinge broke and I could no longer fold. It would only go half way. Customer Service was very helpful and luckily I did not have to pay out of pocket to get it fix due to the Warranty. A month Later here I am again and now I hear a click everytime I open and close my phone. Now I have to go back and get it fix AGAIN and that is all in a span of 5 months. I am totally ready to switch back due to this continuous issue.

My phone had more them one repair, and every time that my phone back sometime later a new issue appear. I am a Samsung user for more them 10 year, and I never seem a product with so bad quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I HATE THIS PHONE I hate this phone! I traded my S21 ultra for what I thought would be a great phone and a new experience. It def was an exp and not a good 1. I had it for a couple weeks, in the case it feel into my gym bag and locked. Took it to Best Buy for repair and they messed the screen up more, tryin to open the phone. The screen bubbled and started getting black across the screen. I took it to another location and they replaced the screen. Then there was a line going across the middle of the screen that made the color slightly different as you scroll up. The camera is no comparison to the S21 especially at night! OMG this was the worse choice made in purchasing a phone. I feel like its known that the phone isn't that great because they wont even offer a nice trade in price for it. I don't think its a popular phone at all. I wish I never traded my phone. The trade in doesnt even match the price I paid after trading my S21. I would being still coming out of pocket with so much more money. SMH, I will definitely do better research.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hinge Stopped Working After 30 Days I've had this phone for 30 days and the hinge already stopped working. Now it just gets stuck at a 90 degree angle and wont open past that without risking damage to the screen.

Love that I can partially open it (90 degrees), sit it down, and carry on a video conversation. Screen is outstanding, bright, crisp, colorful. Battery is great... All day and into the evening, and it's never below about 35%.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite I pre-ordered the galaxy z-flip 4 and since then I've completely fallen in love with it. I don't think I'll ever use a non-flip phone again. Af first I thought that the whole "flip" thing was just a cheap gimmick. But after having it for over 3 months I've actually come to value the added convenience it provides. I was also worried about potential downsides like lack of durability and battery life. Both of those worris are gone now though, as even with a full day's use I can say that I've never had the phone die on me. I've also been quite rough with the phone, running it without a case. I've dropped it countless times and one time I accidentally threw onto a concrete sidewalk and all I have to show for you are some scratches in the metal frame. All in all the Z-flip 4 is an excellent phone that's well worth the price

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cracked x 2 Have had the Z Flip 4 since it came out in August 2022. Well, actually I have now had 3 of them. The first 2 had screen malfunctions after simply closing them. Neither had ever been dropped, no dirt in the hinge. I've been using #3 for several weeks now and I don't fold it because I don't want to have to deal with another replacement. Samsung does not stand behind their product and as of 3 weeks ago, refuses to acknowledge there is an ongoing problem with the screen cracking with this model. I love the concept of the flip, but it's not what they hype it to be. I've had Samsung flagship phones since the S3, and have loved them all, but this phone just needs work. I will be trading it in the minute I am able to.

After receiving this phone through a barder, I'm so glad I got the phone. This phone is so much nicer to use them I expected and it has replaced my Pixel which is still on a monthly payment plan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bespoke Flip4 I traded in my S22+ for a bespoke Z flip3 a year ago. I made it light blue front and back and I loved it from the start! I didn't have it long when I decided to trade it in for the new flip4 and I love this one too! I got the bespoke edition again and made it dark blue. I kind of like the light blue better but I'm hoping they'll offer more colors if they continue to do this. The reviews for the flip3 were pretty good but several people commented that the hinge isn't too sturdy so I rarely folded it. However, Samsung upgraded for the flip4 so I've been folding this one much more but I couldn't give you an amount. So far it's great! You can see a line in the middle of the phone depending on lighting and background but it doesn't bother me at all. I don't see it when I'm watching videos or reading books. The preview screen has definitely come in handy and I haven't even played around with all that you can do with it. Pictures are crisp and beautiful! I got my first Galaxy 6 years ago and now I'm a loyal Samsung girl lol so unless they really screw things up I'll be sticking with them and expecting more great products! The plastic case that came with the flip3 was ok but I never used the key ring because the reviews said it wasn't good. But for the flip4 I got the silicone case with the key ring and it works great!! The only downside is that you can't see the pretty phone with it on lol. But it's a definite upgrade!

I feel like the screen malfunction but samsung repair don't want to acknowledge. I have care+ and had to pay $99 to get it fixed. I was not given a loaner phone. I'm without phone for a week now. I have been using samsung phones for the past 5-6 years. I never had this bad experience with any of my other phones

Needless to say, I was impressed by how well all the software functions, and how all the hardware feels. The battery also lasts longer than expected, though it could still be improved. Great phone overall, would recommend if you're okay with a little less battery life!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Upgraded from ZFlip3 So, I have a ZFlip4 Bespoke edition but did not see an option to select that specific phone. Anyway, the phone has been great. I really do not see any tremendous changes from my ZFlip3, but definitely could not pass up the 4's preorder trade in deal. I haven't looked back to iPhones since moving to foldable devices by Samsung. I am really in love with this phone. I actually wasted juice on it and it's still good after some rice. Definitely get some protection on it though, as there seems to be hinge problems after dropping the device. Please put a case on the phone at least!

The ZFlip4 is an incredible phone, although I do wish they had upgraded the cameras AND included an SSD card slot in this version. Of course, we've all come for the flip - it makes the phone super manageable to carry in your pocket and its a showstopper.

I like the speediness of the interface, the build quality and how compact it is when folded! It has decent enough cameras and is excellent for messaging and calls. I would recommend the Z Flip 4 for anyone wanting a phone for messaging and other stuff first, content consumption second!

I always fancied a flip phone and never thought a foldable screen was possible, but samsung did it. Everything about it was amazing and it worked like a perfect everyday phone. So when flip 4 preorder began, I immediately upgraded and it has been the best decision. Better than iphone camera, very stylish, love the processing power and battery life. Great job samsung !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Phone I Have Ever Owned I already owned a Z Flip3, and was quite happy with it, but upgraded to the 4 for the improvements in the camera and the MUCH longer battery life. This battery is as good as any smart phone I have ever owned. The camera takes wonderful vivid shots, even in low light or with lots of movement. Web pages and apps load quickly, and the speaker is quite adequate for either music or spoken word--the volume levels are very satisfactory. The phone fits nicely in my hand, and with the official Samsung case, I can put a finger in the ring so I can hold it securely in my hand. I don't notice the phone heating up, even when I'm using multiple apps. Charges quickly too. Oh, and I saved the best for last: the Flip fits much more easily in my pocket. The "seam" isn't really noticeable when watching videos, and the display itself is bright and vivid. I have had phones from pretty much every major manufacturer, and I have never had one I liked as much as the Z Flip4!

It's nice to go out with friends and not constantly stare at my phone. I utilize the smaller display to address immediate needs. I do wish that they would enable wireless dex.

BY far this has been the best flip ever and this product is worth the money. It has been durable and love the attention you receive from public when they see the phone. I bought the BESPOKE edition with custom colors that stand out. The camera is great and the form factor is sleek. Battery life is more than enough for a day full of huddles. NO doubt this is the best phone in the market and would surely recommend.

The folding line is almost invisible when you watch movies or doing any other activity. I also bought a Samsung case for Flip 4 to have a better protection. Overall I like it.
