Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Notch Monitor! Get Your Game On!Years ago a computer monitor was just a monitor, a screen to display data on and annoying green glowing lights on a small CRT screen. Today the world revolves around the ever changing size of the flat screen that we carry in our pocket and/or hang on huge walls in our home or office. The monitor (or perhaps we can now call it a gaming monitor) are now the most demanding piece of the gaming rig, next to the video card. The Samsung CJG5 is a 32” gaming monitor which comes with “almost” all of the required features to pacify most demanding gamers. I am focusing on the 32” monitor. To begin with I am upgrading from an older 27” monitor to the new 32” Samsung curved monitor. At first glance the picture is gorgeous. The curved VA panel comes with a 144 Hz refresh rate. You need to plug into the HDMI2 port to achieve that refresh rate or use the “not included” display port cable. To focus on gaming Samsung promises a 1ms response time in full game mode. Contrast ratio is 3,000 to 1 making the blacks look great for a fairly priced monitor. Samsung was able to keep the price reasonable by leaving off features that we can live (and game) without. Notably HDR and AMD’s Free Sync (probably saves $200-$300). Can you live without them? Sure and you can put the savings towards a top line video card. Most HDR systems relay on the basic standard display of the HDR 400. I think the 144 Hz refresh is a good trade off. Also HDR on a 32” screen really does not do much anyway. Besides there will be a better HDR display in the immediate future as the OLED becomes more into focus. AMD’s free sync is becoming available on some NVidia cards now, but was made for Amd chips to begin with. So let’s face facts as prices drop you’re going to buy an OLED monitor in a few years anyway and you will have a bunch of new features that have not even been invented yet. The on screen display (OSD) menu is easy to navigate. There are two HDMI ports and one display port. The stand is a bit weak in my opinion, but livable with vesa support. The Bezel is very thin, works great with dual monitors (or even triple!!)! Basically Samsung took the top of the line monitor and dolled it up and slapped a great price on it. The result is a great looking monitor with a great picture and a great price. A monitor you can game on even watch movies.Let’s turn to the expert (my 15 year old “gamer “son). I figures I would have my son give me his opinion of the CJG5 32’ monitor. After all he puts in more time and plays the demanding games. He was excited about playing on a 32” curved screen that seemed to envelop him into the same itself. He likened it to a “mini Imax” environment. He plays a long list of games, Rainbow Six Siege, Destiny 2, Call of Duty-Black Ops, Total War and Civilization (me candy crush!). He feels the 144 Hz refresh rate enhances the game immensely. Very smooth, no ghosting, better color, feels that game play has taken a major step forward. He is looking at playing some older games, just to see the improvement. One more thing, he is now watching DVD & blue ray and streaming movies on this monitor, he just loves the larger curved screen with its wide viewing angle. The only problem, he had a dual 27” monitor set up now he has a 32” and 27”. I know what he will be asking for next!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No issuesUnlike earlier reviewers, there's no issue with the monitor. The box arrived without a single dent (kudos to FedEx). I have not noticed any dead pixel on screen. The monitor has 3 ports, 2 HDMIs and 1 DP. However, only the DP and 1 HDMI could output at 144hz. The other HDMI only outputs at 60hz.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultimate Game PlayThe avid gamer doesn’t play when it comes to top notch equipment. The 32" Gaming Monitor does not disappoint. With specs such as 2560x1440 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate and 3000:1 contrast ratio, game play is taken to a new level. The monitor came nicely packaged and protected with foam to protect against breaking during shipping. Unboxing was straight forward. Insert the stand and connect a few cables and the monitor is ready to go. Wonderful colors, super quick and game ready! I have recently been playing Apex Legends and Metro Exodus. These games require very precise shooting and very fast inputs. This monitor allows me to see what is happening, and make split second decisions based on the information I am given. Since this monitor runs at 144 hz, I can play better and more accurately to my skill level due to having faster reactions. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a curve! After work, you'll often find me playing computer games at home. My favorite games, past and present, consist of League of Legends, War Thunder, Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Battlefield 1. For those who aren't familiar with these titles, they include games of many different varieties - there is first person shooters (FPS), aviation games, battle arena, etc. Each type of game is different than the rest, but the ability to be good at these games revolve around the hardware the user has. Most of my favorite games are online multiplayer first person shooters, and in FPS games, it is a huge benefit to have a WQHD (1440p) monitor that can run at 144hz refresh rate. The 144hz refresh rate helps with the “smoothness” in the picture while the 1440p Wide-Quad HD monitor helps with widescreen gaming opportunities which help reveal blind spots 1080p gaming leaves out. The CGJ5 Samsung Monitor checks both of my boxes. The monitor is also curved, and while I originally thought this was a gimmicky feature, it really stands out in creating an immersive first-person shooter gaming experience, as well as day to day browsing, emails, etc. I look forward to experiencing this monitor further in the next few days and will add more commentary to this review. Out of the box, I have had no issues and highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a high-quality monitor that is easy on the eyes, aesthetically pleasing, and has a lot of desktop real estate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beat out my ExpectationsThe Samsung CJG5 Curved Gaming Monitor really exceeded my expectations. First off, the curved screen really shocked me. I always thought Curved TVs and monitors were a gimmick until actually experiencing one. It really gives it a bit of immersion using a large curved monitor. Owning the CJG5 makes me do away with my dual monitor setup as well. I just snap my programs in windows 10 and I have more than enough room to view within each app/program. I read all the reviews advising to experience 144hz, use either a display-port cable or HDMI 2. The difference from 60hz to 144hz was phenomenal. I've been playing Gears of War 4 PC on the monitor and the overall look and feel is a 10. I would definitely recommend. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet curvesPros: *Amazing price for the display!!!!!! *Curved 32" panel *1440p *thin bezels *2 Hdmi Ports/1 Displayport Contrast, Color, and shadows are stunning for a VA panel, with better fantastic color saturation. The size is perfect for Shooters and and other game honestly. 144 hz refresh rate provides and amazing experience for games and even just browsing the internet. Hooked up my custom PC and my PS4 to it and its been amazing for both. Samsung has a feature called Samsung Magic Upscale which is absolutely the best feature you'll want. It increases the resolution of the video input which is extremely noticeable on the PS4. I turned it on and any fuzziness that was there was tweaked and "magically" went away. I fell in love with this monitor at that very moment. Cons: *Only a single HDMI cable is included and no display port cable *No g-sync/V -sync The picture will take a few minutes to set up and its frustrating using the tiny knob on the bottom to adjust all the features. I know that monitors don't usually come with controllers but I wish this one had. After you go 144 HZ you'll never be happy with a regular monitor again. If you have a smaller budget and don't care about 4k or gsync/free-sync/HDR and want a 144 hz monitor you'll have a very hard time finding one as fantastic as this one. Love it. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monitor For Gaming and WorkGreat Monitor For Gaming and WorkAfter using the new curved gaming monitor the past few days, I can't really imagine myself without it anymore. The high refresh rate and resolution has really made a noticeable improvement on my gaming allowing me to see things I couldn't see before and react to things much more accurately. Playing games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Fortnite feel like brand new experiences even though I've been playing them long before I purchased the monitor. I don't think I could ever go back. The higher resolutions also make things like video editing much less claustrophobic to deal with since now I can get much more visual information on the screen. Having to juggle multiple windows and screens feels like a long forgotten memory at this point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Impression! This monitor packs a punch! It is a thing of beauty. Prior to this monitor I never considered buying something curved. I will admit it did take some time to adjust to. The 144Hz refresh enhances the gaming experience! When my family came over this was the first thing they noticed. It definitely grabs peoples attention. When I played games like Overwatch and Minecraft. It blows my previous 27 inch monitor out of the ball park. This size makes a difference and makes multi tasking a breeze. I love have multiple browsers open and this monitor allows that. The pixel are crystal clear and I notice no lag. The only thing preventing me from giving it a 5 star is the the control panel. I was not a fan of how to move the settings. Another thing I dislike was having to tilt it. It was not as easy as I thought it would be. I did like that the HDMI cable was included. Its becoming rare and rarer to see that. Over all I am satisfied with CJG5 Curved Gaming Monitor. When my brother came over it was the first thing he noticed. It definitely is an attention grabber and leaves a lasting impression. I would recommend this to friends and family! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect sized Gaming monitor with superb colorThis is a 31.5" curved 1440P VA panel Gaming monitor. It also has a 144Hz refresh rate on it. All of these factor in to this being a superb monitor for gaming. The 1440p resolution means it has double the pixels of 1080p monitors which are the most common monitors out there. This means that at 1440p everything looks much sharper and in more detail. Being that this is a 31.5" montor the added pixels make sure everything remains sharp at this size. The curve adds an immersion level to the monitor, makes you feel like it is surrounding your eyes, it really adds to the greatness of the game you are playing. Right away I could feel the picture wrapping around my vision pulling me into what I was seeing more than a flat monitor could do. The 144Hz means that this monitor can keep up with games when your computer produces high frame rates, you get no delay and can see things move more fluidly due to this. The old standard was only 60Hz for monitors, this 144 is far superior and you can feel it too. 31.5" fit perfectly on my desk right into the opening it had for the monitor to recess into. I really feel this is the new best size for gaming, it blows the old 27" model we had in its place before it away. The panel on this is VA and it is producing outstanding colors, very deep blacks as well, so its the best of both worlds when it comes to color and blacks on this model. The viewing angle is also good, we had people looking at us play on this monitor form the side and they did not have any problem seeing the action without losing colors. The other panel types such as TN or IPS have some flaws you don't get on this VA. There is no glow in the corners hwo IP models have and the colors and angles are far superior to TN models on this VA panel. The stand does not have any height or other adjustments, but I don't need that on this monitor as its size leaves it in the perfect spot, no reason to move it. IT also lacks freesync/G-sync but I did not feel I was missing it either when gaming everything looked great. I also watched some videos on it and boy are they amazing to watch at this size and with the 1440p resolution, it feels like a small theatre at your desk. I am really impressed with this model, it seems to be towards the very top at its price range with all the features packed into it along with the quality of each feature that I tested on it. I fully recommend this one for any gamer out there. Also, check out my Video unboxing review of this awesome monitor! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good valueThe monitor is a great value for a 144hz 1440p monitor. The VA panel looks good much better than a TN. The stand is a little wobbly, but not horrible. Kind of odd it's not 3440x1440 at this size, but I can't see any pixels so no complaints. Good deal overall.
