Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good, except for dim screen it works well. much of the maintenance seems automatic. i have the debian linux in a vm installed. one issue is that, while i can ssh out to other computers on my lan, i have not been successful in configuration so that i can ssh into the vm. as others have noted, the screen is a bit dim, but in a suitably lighted room, it is acceptable. i wish the light management would be better, so that the camera would show a brighter image. i wish i had the option of getting the larger memory version, but it did not seem to be offered on amazon. however, on average, a good value ... cheers, makyo

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chromebook First time using a Chromebook. It is user friendly but I was not impressed with the quality of the images. I’m a photographer and I think I’ll use the Chromebook for everything EXCEPT for videos and photos. Other than the quality of images, it works well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best budget computer this computer is honestly the best that you can get for the price. the build quality is solid. the body is smooth and extremely light. the ports are generous at this price point with 2 usb-c 1 usb a and a sd card reader. i just booted it up for the first time and the battery went from 10% to 75% in just 45 minutes. the touchpad is the best i have seen on a chromebook. the only negative is the screen that is poor on purpose to keep the cost down. i will be honest ans say that the viewing angles are pretty finicky. you pretty much have to be directly in front of the screen with no angle to get 0 distortion; however, the distortion is not bad until the screen is at some extreme angles. all in all, the best computer for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good overall, one issue this machine is fast and versatile for a chromebook. access to the chromestore apps is really useful, although some of the apps still have bugs running on chrome os. for example you cannot scroll down in emails on outlook. despite this, access to nearly all the mobile apps in the play store and built-in sandboxing of apps is really great. the biggest issue i run in to is accidentally triggering the trackpad click while carrying the laptop around. the chassis is just a bit to flexible, and that flex triggers accidental the accidental clicking. with the back cover to the display made of aluminium, it really makes you wonder why they didn't just make the back cover behind the keyboard/trackpad aluminium too. it would have enhanced the feel and functionality of the device a lot.

Has really good battery power. If you're looking for a great budget laptop I'd for sure go with the Samsung chromebook. I'm very happy with my purchase. You wont regret it. Beat brand and product out there.

It has a 15.6 " screen which is perfect for me to look up anything I need too, but I can also take it anywhere and watch a movie if I wanted too. The memory is great , it's a 64 g which is just enough memory for my everyday use. I'm literally on it everyday , and I can keep all my files, notes and store them safely. Now all my family members want one for their personal use.

Perfect for listening to music and nice laptop for kids to do their work on. Dual USB-C ports and the 10 hr battery is a huge plus. Easy to navigate the home screen and you can sync your gmail account so it guarantees updates and security notifications. This is such a great little additional laptop to have.

The Chromebook 4 is perfect for our 5th grader. It has plenty of power for entertainment uses but is robust enough to power through homework. She can easily log into Seesaw (the app our school uses) with her QR code thanks to the built-in camera. I also like how it's compact. When we are not using it, I keep it closed and on our electronics docking area. Easily stores in one of the slots. Very happy with the Chromebook 4. It's perfect for school use and personal.

With everything going on, it’s looking like most of his classes will be online and he needed a good, reliable computer to use. So far we are very pleased with its performance. It boots up fast and has a nice battery life. The screen is large and clear, but it’s still very lightweight. It’s super fast when browsing the internet and watching videos online. The camera works great, which I’m sure will be helpful for his online classes. I have always been a big fan of Samsung products and this chrome book hasn’t let me down. I would definitely recommend for anyone with a teenager in need of a computer for school.

The screen is so big, what a perfect size! Only thing is I wish there were more USB ports. The chromebook only has 1. I highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These things are great!!! Having owned the 1st generation of the Samsung Chromebook for a number of years I eventually went to the 3rd and now I own the 4+. I'm an IT professional and as far as entry level devices go, it doesn't get much better than this. The technology and features are constantly improving. There is next to nothing that I cannot do on my 4+ that I would do on a Windows based computer. (bearing in mind I typically have internet access around the clock) Battery life is great, it charges in no time at all, and the screen on the 4+ makes movies and browsing in general a much better experience.

I'm not a computer person more like a idiot but this was the easiest notebook I've ever used. Started it up and entered my chrome email and bingo. I'm on my way. The screen is clear and vivid colors.. Streams videos really well even with average wifi.The built in security is nice to not have to deal with. Lots of storage more than I would use, but nice to have for downloading movies. The battery lasted for hours which is nice your not searching for the plug. It's a nice simple notebook and is handy when I have to travel.

My son has been using it for summer school and works really well on for his learning apps. I love the design it has a nice sleek look and it is very lightweight. The camera and mic work well for zoom meetings and I'm able to load pages quickly. This chromebook is perfect for school work. It was easy to setup it took no time at all to get it up and running.

It boots ups quickly and set up is simple and easy. It has a battery that last up to 10 hours until charging is needed. The keyboard is nice and typing on it is easy. The only issue I have is that it doesn’t have a touch screen. This is a nice computer to be used for work or school . It’s simple and easy to use, lightweight, and well made. I highly recommend this Chromebook.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great first laptop I needed a computer with quick access to the Internet and a computer that my kids can use for school and I decided to go with the Chrome book. I am very happy with it. The speed is very fast and it loads any website very quickly. No it does not replace a computer or laptop but it's perfect if you are just using it to search the internet or using it to type up a quick document. It's perfect for high school kids or middle schoolers. It has decent storage space. The only improvement I would recommend would be to change the screen resolution. It's not very crisp but I only say that because I am use to a very high resolution screen. Otherwise this is a great starting computer for your kids or even just internet surfing for your kids. You are able to connect a 3.0 port mouse to it. The keyboard is great. The battery life is great. Last a very long time. I also love that the laptop is very light weight. I highly recommend this laptop.

This chrome book is very easy to use . I was so excited when I could save my photos from social media onto this chrome book for a wall paper picture. This chrome book also holds a charge for many hours and doesn’t take long to recharge . One of my favorite features is I can change the color or theme of the background for when I’m browsing websites. I thought that was so neat ! This chrome book has a good amount of storage space which is nice when I’m saving so many things for my kids schooling. I like the slim style and color of my chrome book . It’s easy to pack up and take along places . This is the nicest chrome book I’ve had the brand, style and features are perfect. Very happy with it! It’s made very well very durable I know it will last years.

Good battery Lightweight Cons: Not much there. Can’t use with Cricut like other laptops. Only mobile version. Had the feeling of “ Is this it? “ Very, very basic. Neutral: Screen Sound I really liked that it started up fast. There aren’t many things installed, which is good. I think I’m just used to Windows operating system, and this made the Samsung chromebook feel dumbed down. Very easy for people that don’t have a lot of computer experience. I strongly feel this would be any for anyone that’s never picked up a computer to figure out. The system is easy to navigate and not time consuming. A WONDERFUL brand and a great laptop for college students. A bit pricey to hand over to a kid, in my opinion. They’re to rough on things lol. Also a great laptop for someone older that doesn’t need to feel overwhelmed by tech. Would I purchase this again? Highly likely. Would I gift this? Yes. I would.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It!! Was so excited to try the Samsung - Chromebook 4+. I have never tried a Chromebook so I was interested in doing so. Out of the box it is very easy to set up. Since I use everything Google (mail, browser, etc) I absolutely love the interface. The unit is very fast the only thing I had to get use to was using cloud more often. Screen was big and bright and speakers were very loud and clear. The unit itself is very light and comfortable to hold on your lap if needed. Since I the majority of the time surf the web and use social media this unit was PERFECT!! I would strongly suggest this item to anyone who wants a computer that is fast, light and has a large screen.

It is thin and very easy to carry around. This chromebook size is 15.6” which is big and it has 64 GB storage and 6gb ram. It is very easy to operate. The keyboard is very easy to use. I was able to search a few sites and able to search stuff in a very fast way with the Gigabit Wi-Fi connection. Very easy to stream and download massive files rapidly. Overall the quality of the computer is great. It has a great, fast connectivity thru Wifi. Very unique and stylish. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most bang for your buck in laptops First things first, we must establish that this laptop is geared towards being an affordable laptop. It’s unfair to compare it with higher end laptops in terms of features and capacity. It is however a worthy successor to the Chromebook 3, and probably one of the best laptops at its price point. The specs are available, but just a quick rundown. The aesthetic is pretty nice and kinda reminiscent of a MacBook. Clean and uncluttered, with no visible screws and sleek contours. The screen is a nice 16.5, and the 4+ offers 64 GB storage, and 6 GB RAM. There are 2 USB-C ports, 1USB-A port, a micro-sd slot (perfect for my budding photography hobby), and of course a headphone jack. The processor is the Intel Celeron 4000. It weighs in at a very lightweight 3.7 lbs, and has a battery life of 10.5 hours per the detail specs. (I like these details in online reviews to help with decision making, and I am by no means a computer expert.) For those of you like me, here are the reasons I think this laptop is superb. This laptop is lighter, has a bigger screen, and more memory than almost any other comparably priced laptop. This is a nice uncomplicated laptop that can easily handle simultaneously streaming movies, browsing the web, checking email, and doing homework. In other words, this Chromebook is ideal for students and people who don’t need a super expensive computer just to perform most of their online business. Cab this laptop compare with a 2,000 dollar gaming laptop? No, but that’s understandable. This is a sturdy workhorse though. My child’s school issues each child a Chromebook, and my kiddo was easily able to navigate the menus and interface with ease. (He’s 9.) My kiddo promptly dropped this laptop off the couch, and I was impressed that the Chromebook was absolutely fine. All in all, as a mom, I feel this is a great laptop for the money.

Set up was easy and only took a few minutes. It has a good amount of storage and processes fast. I like the look and feel of this Chromebook. I got it for my little girl to use this upcoming school year as they will be online. I also use it for surfing the internet and sending documents to the printer. Overall good laptop and good value.

I haven't eaten or drank any foods or beverages during the time. Overall, it's a great chromebook for children to use.

Most of those with "cons" in their reviews should have been aware before they bought, like "no numerical keyboard," "no touch screen." This is as advertised...battery life fine for me...quick responses on keyboard and no internet lag. Does everything I want it to, so works fine for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not good i replaced a hp laptop with this samsung. im very disappointed in its touch pad and controls or lack and no way of making display adjustments to the extent needed. ive tried to call tried too chat cant get service. bought through best buy cant return because its been over 15 days. the touch pad works and some times it doesnt. ive adjust what very few adjustment it allows and it still doesnt work correctly. its just doesnt mirror your touch. i think it may be a defective item but i cant reach anyone to even try a replacement so im out.

Do not recommend. i had a chromebook from another brand for years and loved it. i decided to "upgrade" to this one when it was time for a new one. it's been a total disappointment from the first power-on the screen really is that bad. it's entirely off-putting and annoying. even more annoying is that the charger stopped working within six months. after an exasperating runaround with customer service, it's been impossible to get samsung to send a replacement charger under the warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great bargain! this is a great chromebook 4+ with a 1080p screen. boots up in a flash due to the intel® celeron® processor n4000. it also has a expansion slot for a micro sd card. some other chromebooks that are out there do not have a expansion slot. it also has 2 usb c oval slots. this is the future of chromebooks for now. it also has a 3.0 usb slot the c oval slots can go into the usd slot either way due to the oval design. other manufacture's are still using the standard 3.0 usb slots. if you already have a g-mail account and are using a android phone or a chromebook; then all of your apps and info will be downloaded to the chromebook 4+ when you sign in for the 1st time. the 15.6" 1080p screen sure beats out looking on to a smaller screen. please note that the camera is 720p.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great overall but has issues Pros - thin, light, fast to start, fast to connect, fast to charge, fast with up to 15-20 windows open, everything fast, feels faster than a high-end $2,000 latest laptop, very pleasant to use; never going back to a regular laptop again. Cons - (1) battery should be about 10 hours but it constantly when fully charged shows between 5-7 hours left; sometimes it shows 11 hours left - could be a software glitch; (2) no touchscreen (3) no 10-key keyboard sadly - only 1 Chromebook in the world as of now has a 10-key, Dell; (4) in 1 month's use it froze but only once - probably due to too many windows open, but with up to 15-20 windows open it's as fast as with 1 window, crazy! (5) no privacy screen available either through Samsung or J&J Int'l or 3rd party- and a privacy screen may not even fit since little space between screen and keyboard when closed. Please consider all these cons when you updated this model - and it would be great if you could offer some trade-in/deep discount for current owners of this model when a new model comes out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor screen quality This is a near perfect chromebook. Unfortunately the deal breaker is the screen quality. It is highly dependent on viewing angle. Slight movements cause the screen to shift appearance to the point it causes eye fatigue. Even when viewing straight on, text appears fuzzy and just doesn't have the quality that one would expect from Samsung.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Chromebook!!! i had a samsung chromebook 3 which i absolutely loved. one day it stopped working. so, i decided to try the samsung chromebook 4. i wanted to stick with samsung because their chromebook are extremely light and thin, but have great quality/durability. i was a bit apprehensive about the screen because many reviews said it wasn’t great, but it looks great to me and the brightness is just fine. over all this chromebook is perfect for work or school. it’s super fast! it also looks great. i love the size, it’s small and light which allowed me to work in bed or on the go. great price also! i would definitely recommend it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Chromebook for the Money (9/10) My mother received a 2GB Chromebook 3 from Verizon for signing up last year. She never used it and I was never a fan of Chrome OS despite being a tinkerer with Linux. When she bought a Macbook, she asked me to sell the Chromebook so I took it home, charged it and wiped it. After doing that and kind of digging it overall, I started using it and decided I liked it enough that I would get the 6GB version so I could justify using it at home and for light office work. A month later, I am quite pleased with my purchase minus a couple of quibbles. I often see the word "snappy" used to describe these laptops and it's fitting, even more so with this one. In fact, for videos and other office tasks, I would actually say it's pretty quick. The size is PERFECT. Maybe my favorite thing about this Chromebook is it's size and portability. I can store it in the top case on my motorcycle and carry it to work. I can't do that with my larger Asus. With the flash memory, it boots rapidly and just goes. The battery is FANTASTIC. I can use this Chromebook 8 hours at the office without a charge and take it home with enough juice to check e-mail before bed. The keys are great. The right amount of height and each keystroke is solid and even. No bendable keys here. This keyboard is better than the one on my $1k+ Asus. That's saying A LOT. Having the Linux terminal available with some Linux tools is also really great for geeks like myself. The quibbles are small. The screen is good but not good enough. It really does have a "sweet spot" for viewing. The paint on the plastic scratches if you look at it. Within 2 days, I had several surface scratches and after 4 weeks of use, the top looks like it went to battle with a razor blade. That's arguably my biggest issue. The older Chromebook 3 was black and really rugged. This one? Not so much. The easy to scratch plastic is still unacceptable, even at this price point. The final quibble is the lack of USB. One USB 3.0 and one USB-C that is the charger and video port. I like having -C as the charger because it's robust and universal, but having 2 couldn't possibly have cost Samsung that much to add. I would say this Chromebook is going to be my everyday workhorse. I never thought I would say that I liked a Chromebook, much less that it would be replacing another laptop, one that was quite expensive too. But here I am. I would say this Chromebook is highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Chromebook with Unacceptable Screen About Me/Expectations I purchased this chromebook after having a wonderful experience with the Samsung Chromebook 3. I was very excited about the prospect of an updated version of the chromebook and when I saw that it had 6 GB of ram—I had high hopes of this being the perfect compromise between its shortcomings (aesthetics and screen size) to gain the advantages that I wanted (speed and weight). I am a college professor who uses the chromebook as a secondary machine to browse the web, manage emails, and watch videos on Youtube. While I do these things I also use a small combination of android productivity apps, either Pandora or Spotify playing in the background, and 8-12 tabs open at once. In the spectrum of chrome users, I believe I am representative of the basic or moderate level consumer. I am familiar with the operating system and have fair expectations of what a chromebook can and can’t do, but I am not a power user and do not push the system with external monitors, complicated apps, or use linux. Pros 1. Speed: This chromebook utilizes the Celeron N4000 processor and 6 gb of ram. I really think that anyone who hasn’t had a chromebook or hasn’t updated in a while will be happy if they find a machine that uses the N4000 processor. Although it is only a dual-core Celeron processor that doesn’t wow you with its base speed, it has a 4 mb cache. Most of the processors in budget machines in the past generations had 1-2 mb caches at most. This change is one that you actually feel when using the chromebook because this will increase the pace of things I believe most users like such as: switching between tabs, quickly loading pages, and multitasking. The 6 gb of ram is a unique selling point and a really excellent choice by Samsung. Chromebooks usually come in two ram options 4 gb vs. 8 gb with the 8 gb units typically much rarer and unavailable as an upgrade on many units. While they run perfectly well on 4 gb, the 6 gb is a comfortable upgrade. It is impossible for me to isolate how much of the buttery smooth speed of the machine is due to the processor or due to the extra 2 gb of ram from the norm, but the combination makes for a wonderful user experience. 2. Size: The weight of the machine and the form factor are very satisfying. This device adds very little weight to your bag while traveling and for walks across campus, that lighter frame is much appreciated. I enjoy the fact that despite being so light that it does not feel overly cheap; it’s far sturdier than one would expect for a cheap and light device. Overall, for anyone who enjoys the lightweight portability provided by an 11.6 inch machine—this one fits the bill while feeling substantial enough that it avoids feeling flimsy. Con: Screen: This is the first time that I can say that on a machine that I otherwise enjoyed that there was a single feature that could be a deal-breaker, but the screen is genuinely that bad. It isn’t because of the resolution because most chromebooks, especially in the budget range and at 11.6 inch screen size, all have the same resolution. It also isn’t because it is a TN panel because the Samsung Chromebook 3 had a manageable TN panel that didn’t break its usability. This panel is just wretched. It has ridiculously specific viewing angles. If you don’t hit it spot on with your eyes then colors wash out and text gets blurry at the top or bottom of the screen. It’s so grainy, washed out, and pixelated that it unfits the device for almost all of my primary needs. The brightness even seems less than the Samsung Chromebook 3. I am just flabbergasted that they selected such a bad panel that feels like a step back from their best-selling previous model. The screen was literally so bad I wondered if I had a defective model, but my experience seems consistent with the limited reviews available for this machine. Conclusion This machine was one that I wanted to love and everything that I saw on paper that I believed I would like—I did. The speed is there and the 6 gb of ram cannot be undersold as an excellent choice by Samsung, so I was happy about that. The keyboard was serviceable, which I expected and would have been satisfied with if it hadn’t been for the screen. The screen is just unacceptable at any price point. The speed and smooth operation cannot offset the quality of the panel being used here. You look at the screen for everything you do unless you are using an external monitor and this one is almost guaranteed to give you eyestrain and become an irritating chore to constantly rework the angle of your eyes to the screen and the angle of the screen on the hinge. In my opinion it just isn’t worth it. This might sound like I am overly critical or I am knocking the machine too much for one issue, but an otherwise spectacular experience can, indeed, be ruined if one of the key components used is as bad as this screen. Showroom this model against alternative 11.6 inch chromebooks and you will see what I mean. Don’t select nicer models, IPS screens, or more expensive models; put it side-by-side with other budget TN options and you will see that at the same resolution and same size that the numbers lie and this screen is simply worse than the alternatives. Despite my desire to love it and the excellent choices made my Samsung for the processor and ram combo, the screen panel choice outweighs those good choices and destroys the quality of the final product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from do not buy a chromebook i had my chromebook right at three weeks and it will not power on or charge. i have tried for days to get help with setvice but they make you wait forever if you call and the chat online is not helpful at all. i will never ever buy another samsung chromebook!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chromebook i purchased a chomebook 4 plus 4 (xe350xba) 10 days ago after using it for 4 days for e-school the wifi started to cut out and would drop the signal. when i took it back to best buy they said they could not get them any more and the would do their best to reimage the drive but there was probably something wrong with the hardware.i called samsung and they said cannot help

Just cheap people complaining about something they could easily fix with a macbook, an ipad, or their phone. Ungrateful people trying to step over a company to get their point across. Get glasses if you can't see correctly. Spending thousands on a macbook just to browse the internet and say you have apple product ? priceless. Until your keyboards gives up. Spending $229.99 to Browse the internet with USB-C charging and a Working keyboard and constant updates that make it better over time instead of slowing it down ? Priced correctly. Performs phenomenally for intended purposes. You're buying a chromebook to use the I-N-T-E-R-N-E-T. and to do any task relating to school, or your free-time. Best designed chromebook for its size. No need for aluminum to jack the prices up. A macbook is worth pennies in aluminum scrap prices. Why spend thousands to get less ? Why keep mentioning macbooks ? same reason i'm tired of seeing them everywhere just to do basic things. If i wanted a Workhorse computer, I'd build a PC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy Chromebook Great entry level laptop!Loved my Samsung Chromebook 3 so much I jumped on the chance to purchase the 4!Light weight and well built.Small enough to take on trips and powerful enough for everyday use.Looks and performs like a more expensive unit.Been using it heavily and haven't found any negative points.The battery life is among it's better points too.Could use another USB port.

Kid's were able to use with no help from me- which is a BIG win. Quick speeds were able to keep up with the digital learning- which is important when they have limited attention and cannot keep up if something does not work as expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fast, great esthetics, capacious great machine. fast, cheap, looks good, works good. robust construction. strong lid, long battery time, 14 hours if screen is turned down. i do not see the screen problems others have mentioned. good screen view even at 45 degrees off angle, left, right, up, or down. uses usb-c charge port, but has chargeable usb 3.0 port too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little chromebook i bought this chromebook for work in a pandemic. it worked out great. i was able to use it outside. when the weather was nice. i was able to pick up my wifi. used it everyday to maintain a google classroom. it came in handy and was able to use it for everything! useful and handy. easy to carry around!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Steal instant wifi recon and usability upon waking up. it will restart itself randomly once every few days for a couple months if you have a dozen tabs open, but the sites are always walmart, home depot, att, you know the ridiculously over powerful slow sites that jump the screen up and down when you try to click causing the wrong action? ,yeah it hates those,and i don't blame it.

Miss my old laptop. not an improvement over my windows laptop, mostly because the touch pad keeps locking up. the seller replaced the computer after the first week, but the touch pad issue re-occurred with the replacement. still frustrated after 3 months, now trying to get samsung to honor the warranty. . .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice other than the screen wanted to love this chromebook with it's 6gb of ram which would come in handy with the numerous tabs that i normally keep open. unfortunately i was immediately let down when i turned it on and during the initial set up with my other chromebook sitting next to it, noticed a yellow tint to the screen that should have been white. i was very surprised as my 4k samsung tv and s10 phone have remarkable screens that are a pleasure to view. so after a brief time checking the settings i decided to return it. hopefully this was just a bad unit and others won't run into the same problem, but this is something worth checking into when setting up your new chromebook.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and great portability i have really enjoyed using this chromebook, it has done a really great job allowing me quick online access and easy navigation through the operating system. it is simple and easy to use and great display for watching movies or clear streaming video. the only thing that i don't like is i have to tell it where printers on the network are it doesn't scan the network to identify them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AVOID! in one year, i had to send it in for repair 5 times. samsung was nice the first 2 times. the operator i spoke to was nice in the 3rd call. i hate samsung's warranty terms and service that comes with purchasing a samsung product. i am left with a chromebook that is broken because the hinge connecting the keyboard and screen came apart, and samsung refused to fix it. i have been a long time samsung user but i may boycott them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a laptop computer just to be clear before you buy this. i was looking for a laptop and this was picked up for me. just to be clear, this is not a laptop computer, it's an internet device. meaning it has no operating system (windows, etc) or file system. it can be used to create some docs and surf the web, etc. also they seem to have forgotten to add a caps lock key, so if you need to type anything in caps, remember to hold down the shift key the whole time.
