I also like the all-rubber exterior which makes it easier to have a good grip on the phone. The buttons are easy to press and are just as responsive as without the case on. Only has adhesive at edges and constantly comes loose. The case is great but alphaglass was not. For the price they charge they could try a little harder.

It doesn't mess with the sound Of The speakers and I felt quite assured of it's ability to save my phone if I dropped it. I hate the fact it doesn't have a screen protector like previous defender cases I've had as now I've to keep my phone in a separate pocket to everything else to prevent scratches.

The clip on brace that comes with it is great for standing the phone up but it's bulky if you're carrying it around with the back clip on.

They have protected my devices so many times I lost count, Including multiple shuts of a car trunk. It wouldn't shut and took me a min to figure out that my phone was in the way. I wish they still had built in screen protection, but didn't sway me from the case. I like having the belt clip built for the case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally! I have had a number of otterbox cases on my phone's in the past the first one was back when the s5 came out and it was a game changer. I broke every single phone due to drops previous to using otterbox and since I have yet to even scratch one. This cases are for some a little bulky but when you spend close to a grand on a phone you want security that it's safe and this does just that, I work as an engineer with part time farm management so I get in the mud and so does my phone the only fault in the past has been port protection from dirt and grit that can damage the charging port for my s7 that cost 140 to replace. But this so far does the trick! And I'm confident that this will last well past the life of my s9+. To note: I have the zagg screen protector on my s9+ I'm waiting for otterbox version to prove itself before moving to theirs. I'd also advise anyone working in rought conditions to use the clip part that comes with the case to add protection to the screen against drops on stones.

This design for the s9+ is absolutely beyond its peak at a creative and durability standpoint. Even small to high drops protect my galaxy from any sort of scratches, punctures or breaks. It always feels like Christmas when I buy a new otterbox. I just cannot get over the fact of how good it feels in my hand and how it sits in the holster. Will always buy otterbox as it definitely has dealt with the curving of the screens quite well. Looking forward to the future of Otterbox.

I will need to spend an additional $50 for that! A little extreme if you ask me. I won't be recommending this to anyone for that price.

The only kind you can purchase so far that I've seen are the tempered glass ones, which he doesn't want or the ones that are plastic that you have to cut....Not totally thought out well for design if you ask me....sorry~

Rated 5 out of 5 by from durable - as expected I ordered the case in Purple Nebula for my S9+ and I added a Alpha Glass screen protector because I am the clumsiest person known. After destroying many phones, I now only buy phones that have Defender cases available (seriously). The Defender case fits tightly on my phone (unlike the Defender for my S7 Edge, which was loose due to the screen cover portion), allows for wireless charging through it, and while it's bulky (as expected), it's not too bulky. I work with shelter dogs a few times a week and my phone needs to be protected from drops and dog teeth - so far so good! My only regret is that I kind of wish I'd ordered the Big Sur color instead.

Is has a fairly slick design and rugged enough where it won't slip off your hands. Also, it does not slide around in the car, it stays put on ANY surface. Somehow I still manage to drop it just two days ago from waist high to the concrete floor and there isn't a scratch on it. Mind you it was on the road/street concrete, but no rocks around to where it could damage the screen. I love the color (purple nebula) as it goes perfect with the Purple S9+.

The "snap" in plastic that goes on around the phone before the rubber seems VERY fragile. I'm literally waiting for it to break in pieces. Looks good on just don't try to take it off often and honestly things happen to where you need to take it off like dirt or if water splashed on it..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1 thing let's it down I bought this case a few weeks ago and I am really happy about, the grip is nice it feels solid and it looks like it'll protect my phone from drops from certain positions, the 1 thing that let's it down is the fact it's not 100% protective and what I mean by that is when you look at the phone with the case on you can see that at the top and the bottom there is a lip which when the phone is face down it prevents the screen from touching any FLAT surface, however theres no lip down the side of case the protect the sides of the screen and you can clearly see that when you lay the phone on its back and look in line with it and you can see the display screen is actually risen past the left and right side of the case so if the phone was dropped and it landed on a curb for example there is a 50/50 chance I think of ending up with a damaged screen. I know this is due to the curved display but I wish that they would have at least made a bit of a lip down the two sides of the screen because when you look at cases for iPhone like my mates iPhone 7 who recommended this case to me his case has a lip that goes all the way around the display screen. Apart from that though the case is a nice case I just hope that Otterbox reads these comments and takes this on board and potential alters and adds a lip down the sides as well.

I also prefer to have a clip, because I can't stand to have my phone in my pocket. As usual, Otterbox has a great case. It fits the S9+ perfectly. Great that they do not have that plastic "screen protector" on there anymore. I would remove them from all of my Otterbox cases. I work construction and dirt was always getting underneath, so I was always taking them apart to clean. I was worried about the case interfering with the fingerprint scanner, it does not. Otterbox did a great job with the clearances and Samsung has made the scanner more accurate so there has never been an issue with me using the scanner. The swept sides of the case allows easy access to the edge of screen menus. Although, because of that the screen is a little more exposed to damage. There is not much you can do about that though, you have to sacrifice a little sometimes.

Got my S9+ and then ordered the Defender, which took several days to arrive. I dropped my less-than-two-week-old phone the same day day the Defender arrived... And broke the glass back. Thank the Lord for UBreak IFix store in my area. My new S9+ is now shielded! Feeling MUCH less concerned about my new phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great protection for my phone PROS: The packaging is easy to open, great protection, ports covered CONS: Not clear, a little difficult to install, a bit pricey REVIEW: I tend to be clumsy, so I need my phone to have maximum protection, and this case offers that. I tried two other cases before this one, and both were returned for refunds. I'm very happy with my purchase. I came to the OtterBox site because they had the type (Defender) AND color (purple!) that I wanted. I'm fine with paying a little bit more for something that will give me fantastic protection for my expensive device! The case is still a bit stiff, but over time it will loosen up enough that the buttons on the sides will be easier to press. It’s not a problem now, just a side note to mention. It doesn’t hamper the phone’s features. I've only used OtterBox cases (usually Commuter or Defender series) for the last 4 phones I've had. This case makes wireless charging a little bit slow because it is so thick (which is what I need), but it doesn’t have any issues when charging with the regular cord.

We had a defender case on our old phones Galaxy S4's. We had dropped our old phones numerous times and they are both still working and still look brand new. It was time to upgrade our phones so we just now bought the Galaxy S9 plus. With the price of these phones...Otterbox defender is the only cases we trust to uphold our new phones. They may cost more but they are well worth the purchase price. I just wish they would come out with designs on these cases. If they did...I think more people would purchase them.

My last case by someone else didnt protect my Samsung Galaxy S9+ at all and screen completely shattered... With these case my children have dropped my phone in all kind of ways and phone has no cracks and still intact

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great case BUT It's a great case but I thought it was going to come with a screen protector. What protects the most delicate thing on the phone nothing. Especially the Galaxy 9 plus with the curved screen. It be great if you set me a screen protector free of charge. Thank you Mike Rosenbaum

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Defender I'm glad I bought the defender case this year. I bought the symmetry case last year and it didn't offer enough protection. I've not broken a phone screen ever until buying the symmetry case. With the defender you get all around protection. I love that they are screenless now. My only complaint would be that I wish they made this exacy design but without the covered ports. Having to move the cover to get to them is not only annoying but it eventually wears out and deforms the rubber. If you always use a wireless charger it's ok but wireless chargers are not always fast enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Case for Samsung Galaxy 9+ Purchased this case a few weeks ago to protect my new Samsung Galaxy S9+. Putting on the Alpha Glass was simple with the video instructions and then the Case install was also easy with the instructional video. Now that the screen protector and case are on, I feel much safer carting around my new phone. Case makes it easier to grab/handle the phone. All buttons work without any issues and with the phone's sensitivity increased (per the phone settings) accessing any/all apps is a breeze. Simply for peace of mind this case is great. This is one purchase I am very grateful I made and both the Alpha Glass and the Defender Series Case have far exceeded my expectations.

The first one was dropped so many times the hard plastic structure was broken in multiple places and the rubber cover peeled off easily. (After 3 years of use For the protection of my phone, I felt it was time for a new one. I was disappointed in the lack of colour choices. I have previously purchased the model with the screen protector, don't bother buying that one because the screen cover does not stay one the curved screens. After 1 drop on concrete the cover smashed. Considering it's just plastic and rubber the Otterbox price is very expensive, but it is well designed and will protect your phone.
