I don’t know if it will protect you from water damage. It is rather large and hard to wear on the outside. So I just keep it in my pocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent purchase Bought the Otter Box Defender for my Apple 6s about 3 weeks ago. The purchase and delivery was very simple and efficient. I am a Wildlands Firefighter and need to have my cell phone with me in the field. Protection is an absolute must. The Otter does everything it claims to do in regards to protect the phone in falls. For that I am thrilled. The negatives are it’s clumsiness with charging. Apple uses their exclusive charging cables that are clumsy to fit into the charging slot with the phone in the case. That said, the phone gets charged. Second, for whatever reason, the case affects how you are able to text with my phone. Perhaps the case doesn’t fit as snug and causes the texting to be less sensitive. Just need to double check before submitting. Would I buy another Otter Defender? Absolutely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does the job This is my second Otterbox Defender case for my iPhone 6, The first case, the plastic part that covered the screen cracked in two places and the buttons rubbed off the rubber cover over time. The rubber cover also split at a corner and was loose on the plastic parts. The old case was several years old and well worn as I kept my phone in my pocket when I was walking around. It would have been nice just to “buy” a part I needed, but with needing two parts of the three it was cost effective to just buy a whole new case. When this new case wears out, I will buy the new iPhone out that year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should’ve Purchased Sooner I went years without a durable case for my iPhone and after completely obliterating my phone on metal steps I instantly regretted not having better protection. I selected this case based on other reviews and price point. It seemed bulky at first but I quickly came to love the grippy feel and peace of mind. My 1 1/2 year old sometimes gets a hold of it and I have found it outside or under a couch and I am not worried about it. I know the case can take the hit. I also like using the clip that it came with when working in the yard. I will continue recommmending this case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase! I had an Otter Box Defender for my I-Phone 5S and loved it so much I made sure to get one for my replacement 6S. I had seen reviews complaining of problems with the front plastic being loose and having a problem with swiping, but I haven't had any problem at all. I got a cheap one when I got my replacement, but it didn't feel like normal until was able to get the Otter Box on it. You would have to run over it with a tank to damage it now! When I eventually have to get another phone, will be sure to get an Otter Box Defender for that one also.

I work in the construction and renovation trade and phones don't last long without protection. Otter Box Defender has save my phone from certain death on may occasions. I have never had a phone get damaged and Otter Box is the main reason. Don't leave home without it!

It held up after being run-over, dropped from the second story of a construction site, dropped at innumerable shows, thrown by an angry relative (don't ask), and getting soaked at least twice from hanging out by a pool. I hope the second lasts for another 3 years and cannot emphasize enough what a life saver this case has been!

Working construction, I often drop, lean against in my pocket etc. the only one I had break was while I was cleaning my case and I got dropped while out of the case. Best protection available!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This case is the ‘You don’t need to worry option’ I’ve owned one iPhone 6 that I didn’t buy an Otterbox Defender case for. I dropped it once and it hit the sweet spot. Gone. I learned my lesson quickly. I’ve dropped the replacement phone countless times, wiped out memorably after hitting an ice patch while skiing at speed with the phone in my pocket on one occasion and it still looks like new because of Otterbox Defender cases several years later. I didn’t bother researching other cases when it came time replace the old one.

The plastic case is much thinner, the plastic screen is much thinner and the outer protective rubber is thinner and not soft but hard like plastic. Overall I’ Disappointed in with this version of my previous version.

Next was an iPhone 4s, at first for the protection and the belt holster, but the phone was also just better handling. There was more to hold onto and it was no longer slippery. The reasons are the same for the 6, but the handling part is much more important now that the phones have become so thin and curved. The buttons are also much easier to use than when my son had it in a very thin minimally protective case that did almost nothing except make the buttons inconvenient to use. Sent from my iPhone

I haven't dropped it yet though so I have yet to see if it lives up to its reputation of protecting my phone from any drops and such. However, I do not like the screen protector. First of all, it makes it very difficult for me to type properly or touch apps or things like that. Screen sensitivity is half what it was and when I had tempered glass on other phones just like my current one it worked MUCH better. I've read that I'm not the only person with this problem. Also, I'm skeptical about how much it will actually protect my phone. What if I drop it and my screen directly hits a rock? I doubt this thin layer of plastic will stop it from being shattered that way. If I can figure out a way, I may just try to fit tempered glass with this case and rip this screen protector off. If this issue can be solved in the future I will be very pleased.

The case is is self is a black rubberish material grip feels nice various port and button covers all work well.smells nice too ! All fits tightly over the hard plastic inner skeleton. There is a holster or clip it all fits into with a loud positive click which makes it even more robust. And can be used as a handy stand for the phone and will clip on to most things. I work in a tough dusty envoirnment so we'll see how well the dust seals work. Improvements yes different colours hard to find a black case on the floor in the car All this gubbins holsters etc make it quite bulky but I never cared about that. Access to the ports charging etc cannot be had when the phone screen is facing out a design flaw here

The 2 year old loves to grab my phone this has the protection I was looking for. I wasn’t sure about the clip but found that I love it because it’s handy to grab instead of trying to find it in my pocket book. The only down fall is it doesn’t fit all iPhone chargers and that I have to take the cases off to charge. They should make that insert bigger. That’s why I only gave it 3 stars.

I’m not used to the cover over the charging port, so this has been irritating to adapt to, but I’m there. My only real concern about the case is the cover over the screen has changed how sensitive the touch screen is. I have to touch the screen harder to get letters typed etc. I haven’t adapted to that yet. Oh, also I need to redo my fingerprint scans because they rarely work to unlock my screen with this cover save being smaller. Other box - future iterations should have a little more wiggle room around that button. Overall, this is he best and last case I’ll own for my iPhone 6.

Going directly to the Otterbox site was great, easy to navigate and find what I wanted. The Defender Series Case saved my phone many times from breaking or scratching from a variety of drops and bumps. Makes it easier to hold on to the phone as well since it is textured and somewhat larger than the phone. I love the outer protective case, too. The included clip comes in handy when I don't have a pocket to put the phone in. This particular case is a little slimmer than my original, which I like.

Unfortunately this is the second case I have purchased within the past year. The belt holder broke without any force. Also the swivel of the holder is quite loose and has a tendency to rotate the phone The holders of the smaller model iPhone were a lot better!

I attached an adapter to the back of the case and then cut a hole for the adapter in the outer pink case. It now sits perfectly on a bicycle phone mount and I can use the phone at will with perfect ease and sound quality. The adapter sits flush neatly on the back of the case and I can use the phone both on and off my bicycle without the need to change the case. I would highly recommend this product, especially to use in this way, to others without any hesitation. Cheers Janny.

In the past, I have also owned an Otterbox for a Blackberry phone. Since I carry the phones on my belt using a holster, I have dropped the phones more than once and NEVER any damage to the phone. When the holster broke, I took a picture of it, sent it to the company and it was replaced free of charge. I will only use Otterbox! I think that and the title says it all. My most recent purchase was for an iPhone 6s. It was easy to assemble and, most importantly, all of the buttons, camera openings, and finger print functions work perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best case yet! I've been an Otterbox fan from the very start with my very first iPhone 4S, followed by the 5s. Now with the new iPhone 6s, I see the areas of improvement that Otterbox had made, so let me take you on a brief journey to find out why I feel this is their best case yet: For starters, the outer rubber mold is much tougher to remove. This is a major plus because the previous models were so bad, the rubber mold would often get loose and require a warranty replacement every month or so, depending on how bad it got. The next area of improvement is with the inner shell. It is by far much easier to open than all previous models I have had over the years. Third, the outer rubber mold is very easy to clean with just tap water and a towel. The dirt of my Otterbox case came out, where the same dirt is still on my iPad Smart Case that was made by Apple. Every year, Apple introduces new models. Every two years, the design changes. With those changes come thinner iPhones. Personally, I love my iPhone thanks to the much needed bulk that Otterbox offers. The screen protection really works and does not diminish the look or feel of the iPhone. In fact, I used my iPhone naked for a few hours during setup only. The moment the setup was complete, I promptly installed my Otterbox case and the touch-screen is ultra-smooth. Holding the Otterbox protected iPhone 6s in my hands just feels so special. I feel I have the best combination of products on the market. This really feels like a premium brand. One more important thing to note; price. There are many other competing cases on the market that offer inferior protection and style at a much higher price. Owning an Otterbox case makes a statement. You are a practical person who appreciates value. In summary, if you chose a case made by Otterbox, you will get a quality case that will seriously protect your iPhone, make it a joy to use, offering a stylish case that has the bulk your hand needs to keep it in your hands. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of the power cord plug-in port design. For my old iPhone 5s case, it was so easy to plug in the power cable even with my eyes closed. For this iPhone 6s case, I have to struggled a bit when I need to plug in the power cord in the dark. The rubber plug for the power port is always in the way. Also, I need to eye-balls the power port when I am trying to plug in the power cord. Otherwise, I would miss the power port hole since the rubber plug on the case is in the way.

One little irritant is trying to insert the headphone and charging pins. It's a little fussy as the opening doors (I understand their purpose) easily flip back and then it makes it very annoying to insert the two pins. Further I wonder how long these rubber doors will last as one has to charge the phone daily and then it is a matter of time when the rubber will break. What do you say Otterbox?

Biggest mistake ever, because I dropped my phone and the very edge of the screen broke. So, I went back and bought the Otterbox Defender, which is the only case I've bought ever since getting my first iphone, and it is as always the best there is. Full coverage of the phone, feels sturdy and fits great. Love it and would recommend it to anyone. Will never buy a case from a different manufacturers again!!!

I finally got him to switch I purchased this OtterBox for my son I had one on my iPhone 4s for a very long time without as much as a scratch on my iPhone 4s when I removed it from the OtterBox case another "Defender" it looked brand new. I just upgraded to an iPhone 7 Plus 128GB and before the phone even ever came in I ordered a new OtterBox Defender for it I really like the new style pocket/belt clips, I will always keep all my phones in OtterBox cases I trust them and I depend on them to protect my phones and now I convinced my son he LOVES the rear phone clip when I showed him how the clip locks to make a stand he loves to lock it and turn it sideways so he can watch videos while he is either cooking or cleaning in the kitchen. This latest one, for my iPhone 6s, seems less chunky, but just as sturdy. My phone takes a real beating, so a chic case isn't my top priority. My previous iPhones had little scrapes and scuffs here and there. When I bought my new phone, I swore I wasn't going to let that happen. My OtterBox gives my phone more than enough protection, and yet it doesn't look like I've locked it in a safe. The box itself is very attractive. You'd think that IT was the phone.

Wasn't that happy with the case for my 6 as the buttons took way to much effort to use. The one on my new 6s only needs the lightest of pushing to work. Of course the case itself has always been great and the ability to clip to my belt is a huge plus since I wear 2 hearing aids. This allows me to hear it ring.

Always had a defender, bought a new iPhone X went through four different cases, would slide off of everything I put them on, with slide off on my dash in my car and just didn’t have that rubber grip. Went back to the iPhone defender one month ago and have never looked back, so much more comfortable in the hand so much protection and when you put it down somewhere it stays there! Lots more soft rubber and less plastic I love it !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice item - and definitely well built / engineered First impression was that the "instructions sheet" was too simplistic; as the black rubber like edging was EXTREMELY difficult to separate from the blue primary housing unit. This step is essential so that the unit can be separated to insert the 6s iPhone. After about5 30 minutes of tugging and looking and tugging - I finally was able to separate and complete the install. The second issue - a NOTE at the POINT OF SALE should CLEARLY indicate that this unit does not function smoothly and efficiently if you have a protective screen adhered on the screen.

However, the rubber outer casing is beginning to fracture and fray and it looks like I may need to buy another protective cover soon in order to continue to protect my phone. Not sure what the product life of these protective covers should be but 2 years does not seem to be that long or competitive in today's market.

The protective glass screen I had on the phone and the phone screen itself were shattered, but were easily replaced. The actual phone inside was fine and continued to work despite all of this. It's not as chunky as my Defender case on the iPhone 5s, but it's still pretty substantial. The color is certainly not red though! I was hoping for OSU Buckeyes colors. Instead, I got a case that was an intense coral color on the outside and an anemic gray on the inside. Still, it will protect the expensive phone, so I will survive.

Putting the phone in and out of the clip it broke. Not just once but Three times.your Tec. Dept. we're nice enough to send a few replacement. Recently I now have an I-phone and purchased an Otter Box for it I just hope the same problem doesn't happen again. Thank you for a good product except for the holster. Nelson

I really liked the Otterbox Defender case that I had so I purchased another one for my iphone 6s. The new case appears to be as well built as my previous case. I like that the home button is also covered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Otter Defender Case Review The case itself has already saved my iPhone6 S as the belt clip slipped off my belt when getting out of my car and both hit the parking lot where I work. The Otter Defender Case did its job and saved my iPhone6 S; however, the belt clip has come loose three times, but I was able to notice it two of the times and saved my iPhone from dropping to the ground. The Otter Defender Case is great and I'm happy with it, but the belt clip needs something to lock it into place on a belt, something in addition to the spring tensioner as that has loosened up on three different occasions.

The case is very durable, nice looking and gives a warm feeling of protection for your phone. The instructions for taking the case apart to insert your phone for the first time lack the warning that the rubber encasement is almost impossible to remove (at least for a girl). You need the something as small in diameter as a paperclip end to dig in there and separate it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient case for a big phone Debated iphone 6s or 6s plus, because I thought it would be too big with a case on as well. So, I went with the smaller phone, the 6s. Now that I have the phone and the Otter box together, I think the plus would have been fine, too. It doesn't add much bulk and the extra half inch or so all around when the case is clipped to your belt really isn't much. Worth not having to worry about dropping the phone, at all and the box itself is great fit!

This is the second Defender Series Case for iPhone 6/6s that I have bought. My iPhone was kept in perfect condition (like brand new) by the first Otter Box, even through being dropped a few times. Four years later, the screen cover had become quite scratched. Purchasing an Otter Box (Defender Series) a second time was a "no-brainer". I wouldn't trust any other case to protect my iPhone!

Dear Otterbox team.... you need to provide a way to comment and/or respond to reviews or posts, especially when YOU (the OB team) comments on a reviewer's (i.e. "my") review.... it would be more fitting to read the following there, rather than in a new review, IMHO. Second.... you guys are awesome. I posted a review on Nov 6 (See "First "real" complaint, I've had") re: the Defender Series Case and gave you guys 3 stars. You responded to my review on Nov 7, and told me to follow up with a phone call to get things straightened out. I must say, I had my doubts, because I honestly saw the pillowing of the protective screen as a design flaw, and that a replacement part just have the same problem. Well... did I mention you guys are awesome? I received the replacement inner case,, and immediately noticed the difference when I swapped it out with my existing case. there is NO pillowing. I'm thinking you guys might have experienced a bad production run... as I noticed that many of the reviews complained about the same issue (pillowing of the protective screen). Nonetheless, and not because my faith needed any renewing, but you've.... justified (yeah, thats better than "renewing") ... my faith in your product, company and customer service. Bravo, OB... I have two younger kids who have had their accidents and I have had my own. I have dropped my phone at various heights with no issues. People complain that it makes my devices a little more bulky, but its worth it in my opinion. I love all my defender series cases, recently bought 2 more, and will continue to purchase them in the future to keep my products safe.

The case keeps my phone safe from me, the elements and hazards that I come into contact with on a daily basis. My only complaint is actually a testimony to the durability. I needed to get the covering off the case so that I could put it on my phone, and I had a very difficult time. I eventually took the phone to an IT tech, who used his tools to get everything put together for me. So hats off to good construction and a great value.

This is my sixth or seventh Otterbox case, through three generations of iPhone (4s through 6s). While there are things to like about it, some aspects of it -- the incredibly deep recess of the screen; and the rubber that will wear out from the inordinate number of times you have to take it apart to get the dust out that somehow got underneath the screen protector, for two -- make it difficult to recommend this case. The only reason I haven't returned it is because every other case I've tried is worse. It's OK -- flaws and all.

My problem with this case is that the opening in the top for the camera/speaker is just that, open. Also it claims to have dust protection but a good amount of particles seem to work their way inside. Also this case is not waterproof which is fine, it doesn't claim to be, but I have had a lot of problems with people being able to hear me after I installed the case. Again if it were a water tight case I would understand. Also the belt clip is junk, broke on the first day I had it. Otterbox you need to bring back the ARMOR series cases, best case you guys ever made!!!!!! To be honest, this case is to get me through until Lunatik releases their new case for the 6/6s. Otterbox, seriously, you need to look at making another extreme case, like the armor series, and I think you would see lots of customers return to you. Thanks for the read

The little case corner holders broke each time. Would be great if those smaller outside case holders did not break so easily. Last time was just in car, falling from seat to car floor. It is very robust and still has a high level of functionality. However, the plastic screen is very poorly glued and dust gets in so easily. I work on a construction site and dust is an unavoidable part of my environment. By the end of the day there is a large amount of dust between my phone's screen and the the screen protector. I can feel the grit between the two and over time my phone's screen will show damage. At the end of every day I need to take my case apart and clean it and my phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Defender Series Case with Glass Screen Protector I purchased the Defender Series Case for my I-Phone 6S, I removed the entire plastic screen protector and installed the glass screen protector on my phone and it works well together. I didn't have any problems snapping the case together but they may depend on the thickness of the glass you have installed. There is a slight gap on each side of the glass screen protector and the Defender’s frames edge but every case I tried had the same gap.

It take a few minutes to get the phone in (clean the screen before you assemble the case) but goes together easily, done. The case is roughed and it comes in a lot of colors. The holster has an adjustable clip, horizontal or vertical. If you are hard on phones, like I am, this is the case to get, the defender series.

I like how the front of the case is a bit raised, so the screen has extra protection. I think it’s going to protect my iPhone very well. One note- there are no instructions included. I didn’t want to damage the clips trying to get it open. Fortunately, I found a YouTube video showing how to do that correctly. Other than that, this is a great case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Case The Defender Case has many great features but I really like the fact that the material on the back is very "non-slip." It slides easily into your pocket and doest't have the tendency to fall out. The sides are easy to grip and it fits in my hand well. I have large hands so that may be why I like it so much. The front cover is mostly non-reflective and the cover over the start button on the iPhone is very responsive. I have dropped the phone a couple of times and the phone was not impacted at all. It seems like the phone almost bounces when it hits a hard object. The only thing I can find to complain about it the weight of the product. I would have liked it to be lighter, but it is a small sacrifice to make for a great protective case.

It’s always protected my phone from accidental dropping - esp when I get out of my van & forget that it’s on my lap. It has a good strong feel/grip & not heavy. Otter box even sent me a new skin years ago when mine didn’t hold up well. They seem to have a better formula now.

I went and ordered a new phone figuring I would find it in the house under a sofa cushion or somewhere. A week later my daughter came home from school and saw the phone partially covered in the crusty snow by the mailbox. I cleaned off the case , took the phone out and wiped it off and charged it and it worked. i guess I was lucky the mail truck didn't run it over. No need to try another case. This is the one for me.

The color is sky blue, which I wasn't happy about, not teal. It was labelled as teal and definitely isn't. Had I known what color it was going to turn out to be, I would have gotten a different case.

I am having trouble getting used to the Otter Defender case. It has a screen protector and I am constantly pressing the screen to text or do any function. I hope that with time the screen will soften up. Till then I have to constantly check my text as most of the time it is garbage with the words either running together or letters missing in the text. As for protecting the phone it does a great job. Just not happy with the screen protector.

Only a link they send to otterbox Ireland. No phonenumber for Service in Ireland. We contacted different distrubutors only one was willing to give us support. Until now we are waiting for feedback, from Ireland and the products too. So we would like to vote with 4 minus stars !

Would have been 5 stars if the Lightning cover opened the opposite way and if the screen protector was a bit more firm and scratch resistant. My whole family has the defender series and while my phone has been protected the product overall isn't very good. I got the pink and white case and within a week it was faded and dirty and I've tried to clean it multiple times since then and it hasn't made a difference. Not only that but the back of the case started to peel apart and after a month or so. Lastly, when the case arrived the screen protector was warped and didn't fit tightly to my screen. I figured it would fit better after a short time of having it but it still to this day doesn't fit very well and is still bent. Overall, not impressed with the defender case.

One thing I would recommend to otter box is that the case should be better designed to fit all or at least most charging cables as the charging port on the case only allows the generic Apple cable to fit other than this iv always had a defender otter be case on my phone.

I looked in the rear view mirror and watched it hit the pavement, bounce approximately 8 feet in the air then hit the road again. I was certain that my phone was destroyed. We doubled back and found the phone on the shoulder. Somehow the phone had come out of the case but didn't have a scratch on it. The case was in the ditch and had a scuff where I assume it initially hit the pavement but was otherwise fine. Definitely did its job. Only cons are that the fingerprint pad loses some sensitivity with the case on, that the case is somewhat clunky if you want to carry it in your pocket and that the charging port door is sometimes frustrating to open. But as far as protecting your phone from a violent impact it's great. I don't believe it's waterproof but it seems like it would be water resistant.

My work as a plumber/heating Engineer means the cover takes a beating when it's in my pocket. I've dropped the phone a few times and there's been no problems. The cover does get dusty and covered in dirt from being handled and wiped clean. My only issues are the opening for the ear speaker and the on the front and the covering over the charging point. The ear opening allows dust and dirt to gather over the screen where it's not protected and over the course of a few days the dust does make its way under the protective screen which then requires the whole cover to be removed for cleaning. Also the Lightning charging point cover has to be opened to insert the charging cable, obviously, over the few months I have had this case. It is now causing the case rubber to distort slightly which can leave the rubber edge standing up slightly which then gets peeled back when it's pulled out of my pocket. Overall it's a good product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely durable I’ve been using the defender series for the iPhones ever since I had one, the defender cases are one of the most durable and protective cases I’ve ever used, I have dropped my phone off the top of round balers and out of tractors onto concrete and my phones have never been damaged (not purposely), if you are looking for a tough case to handle some abuse the defender series is the way to go! If only they were water proof they would be the ultimate case on the market! The case can be a bit of a pain to remove from the phone but I’d rather have a case that is a pain to remove and not fall off the phone than one that is easily removed and fall apart all the time, hands down great phone case.

Bear in mind it does increase the footprint (size) of your phone, but it is worth it for peace of mind. If you are an active person it is an absolute must for you.

My one issue with this case is the little flaps you have to open to plug in headphones and the charger cable. While they are fine now, They seem a little flimsy and I feel like after so much use the will rip off. Which doesn't really alter the protection that the overall case will provide in a drop or something, but it's still a possible issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good I hesitated to go for Otterbox for my new iPhone 6s, not because of the quality but the price. But I was able to get it for about $35. I previously had an Otterbox case for an iPhone 4 that was thick rubber and it certainly did protect it, but was a bit too bulky. I missed Otterbox with my iPhone 5s, when I instead used an Apple case and dropped it several times, first damaging the case around the camera lens and then finally shattering the screen. I replaced the screen for about $100, but it was never the same. Fingerprint recognition never worked right after that, and Siri would pop up whenever I wanted to see my apps. But now I have the Otterbox Defender, and it's worth the money. It has that "rubbery" type protection but the case is well designed to let me use the switches and volume controls comfortably and surely. The only inconvenience is having to open the flaps to access the various ports, but I can understand the value when you're in a dusty, dirty environment. We'll see if they stay as pliable 2 years from now. I would definitely recommend the Defender to anyone with an iPhone who gives it rough treatment as I do mine.

Like I said I accidently ran over my phone with my car!! I was leaning over while putting a large plastic tote container in my car, I used the light on my phone to see the label on the container while putting in my car and thought when I was done that I put it back in my purse, not realizing, it either fell out my purse or I missed it. My phone fell on the concrete pavement without me realizing. I not knowingly got in my car and drove away. When I got to my destination realized I didn't have my phone. I went back and found my phone on the pavement and that I had rolled over my phone. There was a wet tire mark on the otterbox case and when I turned my phone over it was fine. The plastic part of my case was dented up, but otherwise my phone was totally fine. I feel like my otterbox case saved my phone. My phone has nothing wrong with it and still works today. I was amazed nothing more happened to my phone. I would most definitely recommend an otterbox!!

The phone cases although not waterproof are the best protection I’ve found for smartphones. I’ve used otter defender cases for years in my old Nokia phones, and now on my apple phone. My daughter has also a otter case with lots of bling giving it a more attractive look. Having used other types of generic phone covers and protection on many other phones I’ve damaged. The ear bud flap port applies so much pressure that I hear music from one ear but if I hold the rubber flap the ear buds work fine. I am concerned that it will cause damage to my iPhone jack ports. I would recommend if your looking for a case that has a belt clip.

I used the Defender case on the 6s for about 10 days & then took it off. The touch sensitivity seemed greatly diminished with the Defender case on. I was very disappointed, because I want my new 6s to have the same level of Otter Box protection that I gave my iPhone 4, but don't want to deal w/the lack of sensitivity thru the Defender case.

Since the design of the Iphone 6s is thin and somewhat slippery this rubber case not only protects the unit, in the event that it slips from your hand, but it also gives you a better grip so that does not happen. The only drawback to this product is that the case is black, and might be better if it came in a clear plastic / rubber so that the design of the phone could be seen better. I knew I was buying the case, so I did not get the Rose Gold unit, but would have if the case had been available in a clear rubber version.

All the phone features work through the screen. The only thing I don't care for is it is hard to open the flap that covers the charging connection area and the flap that controls whether or not the phone is muted. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not happy Ever since I installed new cover I have trouble with any buttons on all four sides very close to edge of glass responding, especially going from alpha to numerical screens and going back to alpha screens. I try numerous times touching screen and sometimes have to go completely out to homepage and try it again. A real pain when trying to text periods or question marks. I'm ready to put old case back on. What is a solution for this?

I always have liked the Otter Box Defenders Series as it really protects my phone from drops. However, this one, the plastic that covers the "Home" button is flimsy and cheap looking. I couldn't really tell if the plastic covering was supposed to be permanent or temporary. Otter Box need to re-do this part.

The protection is second to none and for as much as phones cost these boxes are a bit pricey but if you want protection you just need to spend the money. The only negative I have with the otter box for the iPhone 6/6s is the flaps to get to the power supply and silent button. The prior otter boxes opened from the top and pulled down, this design opens from the bottom and pulls up making it almost impossible to get an iPhone power supply disconnected without puling on the cord. That's a big issue for the iPhone. It's a good product but this one has some design flaws.

Otterbox has a range of phone cases, some thin and some thicker. I bought the Symmetry series initially (a bit thinner and lighter) but then later wanted more protection for the phone, so I then bought the Defender series (a bit thicker and heavier). I now use only the Defender model because of the greater degree of protection. I gave my wife the Symmetry case because she wanted a smaller, lighter case for her small purse. Now, we are both happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid but not as good as previous otter boxes Purchased the Otter box for the iPhone 6s. Similar to previous cases its sturdy, been dropped once already and phone is fine. Downsides are the screen cover doesn't seem to fit face of the phone and leaves a small gap between the plastic on the case and the glass of the phone which makes texting difficult sometimes as the contact isn't as close as it was on previous otter boxes i have had for the iPhone 4 and 5s. The "cling film" cover over the thumb print button is also rather odd and would have preferred if this wasn't on like the 5s case.

That includes the screen as well as all the button functions. This is my second Otterbox having previously had one for my iPhone 4. The earlier model worked very well for 2 years although was a bit ratty toward the end with more flexible rubber. However, the phone itself remained pristine and survived many falls without a bit of damage. The newer model for the iPhone 6s is composed of a slightly more robust, less flexible rubber and appears to be a bit more durable as a result. Based on its performance so far it is likely to provide equal or better protection. Highly recommended overall with prompt, problem-free ordering and international shipping on the site.

I finally took a heat gun and soften up the glue and removed the protector and ordered a glass protector.

I'm not a messy person, but for some reason it just got really dirty, the silicon part was originally pink and now its like a brown/pink color. i would have rated this a five if it didn't get dirty.

It looks great and has saved my phone multiple times already. Seems to have a very sturdy build and I have had no issues with any of the buttons or flaps to the charging/headphone jack ports getting stuck so far.

Having to fold a flap open in order to insert the charge cord is a nusence. The other item is trying to access the switch on the left to mute the phone. It is difficult to get into the switch under the fold up flap. Other than those two items, this seams to be very durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worthy of the title Defender. The defender series of phone cases lives up to its name. I bought my first defender series case about 3 or 4 years ago. I enjoy the outdoors and the phone case had definitely been put to the test protecting my phone. It has been through all four Wisconsin seasons and the weather and elements that go with it. Hunting, fishing, ATV, motorcycle, and snowmobile riding, work in the woods, out in the fields, and in the yard at home. Its been up in treestands, slid around in tool boxes, sat in the heat and the cold in vehicle cup holders and dropped more times than I can remember. The phone case itself it sealed really well with a rubber outer shell and a plastic inner case that protects the phone and the screen. With the rubber outer shell on it, it doesn't slip and slide around on most surfaces or if your hands are wet or slippery. The case keeps your phone protected from light dust, dirt, mud, snow, and rain. I've always been able to clean the case easily with a damp cloth or wipe of some sort after a day in the dirt. It should be known the case does have an opening by the ear speaker and camera areas, so don't drop it in the pool, leave it in a downpour of rain, or use the garden hose or kitchen sink faucet to clean it, you could damage your phone. I've dropped my phone a few times from about 4 feet directly to the ground and the case protected my phone without issue. I also use the belt clip portion and I've bumped into things at hip level a time or 2 as well. I do use the belt clip portion for phone protection because it protects the screen side of the case really well. I don't suggest trying it, but one time I even accidentally dropped my phone from 12 to 15 feet in the air and it landed on concrete. Maybe it was just luck, but nothing happened to my phone and I became an Otterbox fan from that day forward. After 3 to 4 years of wear and tear and abuse on my first case, I noticed a small tear in the rubber outer shell from something I probably did. I decided the case had served me well and I bought a new one of the exact same case again. I'm not the kind of person who takes the time to type a review, but over the last 3 to 4 years I've put my phone and phone case through a lot. My phone still looks greats and I owe it the Defender phone case.

The case is well built and very sturdy. In my opinion the only things I do not like are: (1) My phone is somewhat difficult to release from the holster when clipped to a belt. (2) The charging port at times can be a little difficult to plug in your connector, but manageable and (3) The opening to change my phone to vibrate is challenging, I think the opening should be a little larger. Otherwise this is a GREAT PHONE CASE!

I use my phone for some of my landscape photography and navigation while hiking so I wanted a case that could withstand the elements fairly good, and one that felt solid in my hand. The Defender has proven to be the right choice for me.

Therefore the sensitivity was a little tricky. I removed the screen protector attached the the cover. I'm waiting on one that actually adheres to the screen. It would be a 5 star case of it had a separate screen protector.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this case I didn't think I would like this case as much as I do. Otterbox has made improvements since my iPhone 5S Defender case. The case now covers the Home button. This means that cleaning fluid can't get between the screen protector and iPhone necessitating taking the phone out of the case, and cleaning the inside. It is also considerably slimmer than the iPhone 5S with case, even more so than the reduction in phone thickness would suggest. The outer rubber is harder and I like it better. I like the integral screen protector over a separate screen protector. It is seamless rather than having an edge like my wife's protector on her iPhone 6. That would bother me. My only complaint is that the screen protector could have a smoother touch like a glass screen protector. All of the ports have rubber plugs like other Defender cases. The Lightning cover is large enough to accept third party Lightning cables. In other cases the port is too small. Overall I am very pleased with this case.

IT SURVIVED GETTING RAN OVER BY MY SCHOOL BUS!! I dropped it and didn't realize i did but then a teacher found it and told the office that it got ran over by a bus!! I was triggered at first b/c it was cracked very badly on the glass screen, the sim card is internally destroyed, and the phone is bent slightly, but the phone still works!!! And the case is only messed up a little!! 10/10 i would recommend this case if you are clumsy and break your phone easily!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just to let you know I just replaced my old otter box with a new one. The old one deteriorated after 2 years. I like the protective features of the box. I have dropped my iPhone many times but it still keeps working and no broken glass. When I received my new box, I removed the plastic shield (because it seems to work better by direct skin touch). I also disposed of the belt clip holder because it is impractical working on boats. When I got my first one, I skimmed the phone off my holder three times on a boat and dock near water so it is not a good fit for me to try to use the holder. I discarded the holder before I lost it in the water. Pocket is safer. Perhaps you could offer a strip down model for me instead of the full Monte.

Thankfully I haven't dropped my phone since I have had this case but I was assured the (defender) would protect it. I am very happy with the case and the two-toned blue colors....I would like to see a case with Green on it though, I didn't feel they had many cases geared toward guys.

I have experimented with dozens of other cases, but have always came back. Otter box is the best case on the market, I've never broken a phone with it on. Would you protect your ferrari with cheap insurance?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adds life to your iPhone I love my OtterBox Defender case. When I had to replace my phone recently, it was the first item I ordered for my replacement phone. Great color so it is recognizable as my phone. It also protects this very expensive investment and keeps it looking new for the life of the phone. I also don't have to worry about the phone getting damaged if it is dropped. Overall a great investment and worth every penny.

The Defender otter box was made for Me......I'm a mother of three boys and I'm always on the go and I feel secure knowing I've got protection for my phone. The case is very durable and stylish. These defender cases are just what a busy person needs everyday. If anything goes wrong with your case or you just don't like the color that you ordered (which happened to me), the customer service people are glad to make it right for you. This company is 100% top notch in my book, and I recommend them to any one who needs reliable protection for there phones. Its even teenager proof, because kids are rough on everything they use on a daily basis. I rave about my defender case to all the sports MOMS in my neighborhood and to family members who really need the protection this otter box can provide........ Rated 5 out of 5 by from Be Able to Purchase a Holster not Complete Box Both myself and partner use Otter boxes for our phones. I estimate that we have replaced the holster about 6 times. The product needs to be designed to prevent the sign clip on the holster from so easily breaking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good but problem charging phone The case is great but when I when to regcharge my Iphone 6, the inlet hole in the plastic part of the case was too narrow for an iPhone 6 recharging cable. I had to take my knife and make it wider. This is a definite flaw and should be fixed in further production.

I dropped my phone off the top of Kingda Ka, the tallest roller coaster in the world, and my phone not only survived the 400+ foot plummet, but still works perfectly. I got the phone back without a scratch on it and the case only suffered a small crack. What a case man, what a case. 6 stars.

It's fine for the first few days, then it bubbles up from the screen making you have to push harder to work your phone. Aggravating when typing. This is my 3rd case within a year. I was hoping they would fix it by now. Other than that, it's a great case.

My old life proof case muffled my calls, every one complained they couldn’t hear me with that case. Now with my otterbox everyone says I’m loud and clear. I also like the battery charging port it is much more sturdy.

Not a scratch, and I'm a clutz, so it works out great for me. It's easy to clean, an alcohol wipe and a Q-Tip does the job quite well. Although it only comes in black, which I personally do not like, it's easily customizable. I would appreciate it if the company logo wasn't so visible, but overall I love the product, and it is the only phone case I use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent protection for my iPhone 6s I purchased the second Otter Box case around 2 months ago for my iPhone 6s. The phone itself is still functioning well after 5-6 years and is still spotless and didn't get damaged or scratched. The original Otter Box case has taken some wear & tear which is why I purchased a new one. The only complaint that I have is that there are a few Lightning cables (Belkin's among one of them) that are too wide to fit through the charging port with the case on the phone.

Also so great that the headphone jack is still basically usable, which was not the case with another rugged case I had before this one... Very grateful to feel I can take my phone anywhere, no matter the elements, & know that it's well protected while still being so easy to use. It does add some weight & bulk of course, but that's seems unavoidable for this level of protection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do not buy This case is very difficult to install, remove, and use keyboard. There are no instructions as the youtube video link goes to a blank video. I had to reach out to Customer Service to confirm. Once installed, it is very diffucult to remove. In addition, due to the screen protector, you can't use the sides of your keyboard. It constantly switches to the emoji keyboard when I'm trying to get the numbers keyboard. I can't go back because the buttons don't feel the press so I have to exit the message and come back for it to refresh its self. It is ridiculous.
