Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Solution to Hard Problem This device allowed us to run wired internet access to an upstairs office without pulling wires. It set up very easily and worked without doing much of anything other than plugging it into the wall, attaching the Cat-6 cable and that was it. No more drops when working from home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed…. The Powerline 2000 solved my issue just as I’d hoped. Moved to a larger house and router just wasn’t providing performance and reliability it did in previous home. Assumed it was due to location of office compared to where the router change. Now with the Powerline 2000 being used everything is working fine and dandy!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Died conveniently right after warranty expired Bought these about a year back, and they were generally what I needed. The sleep mode gave me some trouble, but nothing too big. The big problem came <1 month after the warranty expired, when one of the units died. Just won't power on, and not amount of fiddling, resetting, or changing outlets does anything about it. Not an uncommon problem if you look around at other reviews. Good concept, poor quality. I'll be spending the money on a wifi card instead of a replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent device till it conks out The installation was a breeze and I loved the improved and consistent bandwidth to my streaming device. My wi-fi was erratic and this device proved to be an easy solution. However, the device conked out - the device power outlet was working but no leds would come on...which meant no internet. Disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to use and works great I get little to no wifi connection on one end of my apartment. A family member recommended this product. I can plug an ethernet from my router into the device on one end, and then plug the other device on the far end of my apartment to plug my computer into. When I want to have a solid connection while playing online games, I move it into the room with my xbox. I have noticed the following configurations work right out of the gate: 1. Plugged into the router works for PC, MacBook, and Xbox without any special configuration. 2. Plugged into the modem (mine has two LAN network options) works for MacBook only. It seems doable to make this work with other devices, I'm just not sure how.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Support for this product is awful I have one computer that this work great with this adapter. I have 3 other computers (Lap top so they are easy to move around and check connection speed and none can achieve anything close to my wifi, which is about 1/4 to 1/3 of the speed when connecting by cable to my router. I have 1000 Mb fiber service. Support kept having me do the same troubleshooting steps over and over, all of which I had done prior to my second call to them. When I press the issue of why the adapter would work on one computer and not the other the lady (who I could barely understand) gave me an answer that had nothing to do with the question and when I pressed she said it was most likely the wiring in my house. I gave up. It is a good idea but my suggestion is to purchase the product from a retailer with an easy return policy (like Amazon) and if it works great and if it doesn't return it while you can still get full credit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked fine for a Year or so and then intermittent I thought this was going to be a great solution to getting internet to my TV. It worked OK for somewhat over a year. The speed was not good, but worked. All of the sudden it would stop working. I verified it was this product that is causing the issue. Tech support is a joke, you get someone in another country that speaks unintelligible English and just goes by a script. They waste so much time logging in your call and verifying your info and product and never get you a solution. They just regurgitate the manual, that by the way, is not written well or clear. The replies on here from them are also just worthless. Sorry Netgear, you do not care about your customer at all. You are not fooling anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Low latency, fast reliable connect. I was having connection problems with spotty WiFi and high latency with my upstairs computer and figured I would give this devices a try. It was very easy to set up and I got the rated speed for my internet plan, although I don't know if this devices can reach the speeds it advertises. I only have a 100 Mbps internet plan but it does get 135 Mbps down which is the same as my downstairs wired computer that is hooked up directly to my router. I was also worried I may have problems because I do use alot of electricity especially in the summer but so far I have not noticed any drop in speeds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NETGEAR Powerline 2000 Extra Outlet The PLP2000 has been great so far. I have no issues, except the port stopped working in general on one of my outlets. The support team has been very helpful. I had it less than a year and they are working on resolving my issue. I hope it's soon cause it really has helped with my internet speed like I'm hardwired into the modem thats located downstairs and my office is upstairs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plaster house nightmare overcome We recently purchased a house built in 1925, which means plaster walls and ceilings in every room. Top tier wireless products couldn't get the job of connecting all family members devices (about 14 at last count) continuously or consistently. Enter the Powerline Adapters. A minor connectivity issue at first (it helps to read the instructions carefully), but that was easily solved by resetting factory defaults. Six adapters spread around the house and everyone no longer complains about their network connection. There have been no issues with different areas of the house being on different circuit breakers in the electrical panel. The peaceful solution to the house that wasn't built for wi-fi.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked like a charm. Had it since 2018 and it's been a viable option as opposed to wireless ever since. My one complaint is a lack of official ways to buy replacement single adapters if one dies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really depends on your house wiring My rental was built in 1984 but one of the outlets in my home stops working when I plug two things into outlet. So I'm guessing the wiring is less than stellar. Sometimes the wifi is stronger then the powerline. It would be useful if the powerline had a wifi connected app to relay signal strength/resistance on outlets. I had to get 4 outlets in my home before I found one that sent a strong enough ethernet signal to be useful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very easy to set up, mostly consistent This was as easy to use as plugging it in, and is plenty fast enough for my tech work needs including video streaming. I one time had the units flake out and need to be reset which was a minor hassle then they went back to working fine. (The size of the unit blocks access to the second duplex port by about 1cm which seems like it could have been shaped slightly different.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product These modules work well, but not if they are plugged into surge protectors. Also, the design requires only one power outlet, but the case blocks the 2nd outlet on a standard duplex receptacle. A grounded extension cord will solve this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PLP2000 Purchased these power line adapters to get wired internet to my sons Xbox.I pay for 800mbps when hooked up they do provide internet but it was only 42-52mbps. ( WiFi is faster) tried many diff outlets and the best I could get was 320mbps in rooms closer to the router. So I decided to try MoCa adapters by SceenBeam. WOW ! These are amazing. Downstairs in my Sons game room , getting 900-1.1 gig speed every time. Definitely go with MoCa adapters over Coax vs Powerline adapters.

I tried several different outlets, and the only ones that worked in the green were about 8 feet away from each other. Any farther and they were amber and where I wanted conductivity, bright red. Returned them and tried a different method of extending my internet. Also they need to change the shape, when plugged into a 2 or 4 outlet box, the unit covers all of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not really that great. I just got these. I installed one of these in my son's bedroom and was able to try the other end in several different locations (all of which if I understand my house's wiring decently) don't seem to be too for to the circuit breakers. In one location I was getting 5-10 Mbps (yes, megaBITS). Two other locations were about 50 Mbps. After a fair bit of trial and error I was able to find a location that gets about 160-180 Mbps. Unfortunately this isn't any better than when using WiFi for that device (usually 200-220 Mbps). So they aren't exactly plug and play and they seem to require quite a lot of trial and error to get even half way decent performance. However, the biggest problem is that even though it's plug through. 1) The darn thing is so large it mostly covers the 2nd outlet -- so it actually uses up both outlets 2) The plug through seems very tight and I had a really, really hard time trying to get another device plugged into the plug through outlet. Also I figured this might be the case and was prepared for it but others might not be aware that if you use both ethernet outlets the bandwidth is shared between them. So if one alone gets 200 Mbps, if they both operate at the same time they'll each get about 100 Mbps. If it was just poor performance I would have given it 2 starts but the fact that its plug through but covers up both outlets is just a really poor design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A large ranch house I couldn't be more pleased with the Powerline 2000. I have a sprawling ranch and the ATT fiber comes in at one corner and my main TV is at the diagonal one. Tried a few other brands and even the Netgear Powerline 1200, but they couldn't handle it. Rated 5 out of 5 by from FAST ADPATER DOES NOT LAST OVER 2 YEARS This has been the best Powerline Adapter I have owned in the way of performance. But please be aware that one of my adapters stopped working after 1 1/2 years of owning it. Unfortuanely all the warranties are expired and a new powerline adapter will need to be purchased. I like that this adpater has two ethernet ports and external power outlet which made it attractive for the initial purchase, just wish it would have lasted longer for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Netgear PLP2000 I have PL1200. Bought and installed PLP2000 with outlet passthrough. Compared internet speed. PL1200 = 64 mbps. PLP2000 = 74 mbps. Speed different based upon browser, but always 10%-15% faster with PLP2000. I have 4 PL1200's, but I'm thinking of adding 2 more PLP2000's and eliminating the PL1200's. The PLP2000's work great. Both PL1200 & PLP2000 considerably faster than Wi-Fi, and I feel more secure, sine there is no outside transmission. The network is through my electrical wiring in my house. I would highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didn't work out of the box Got this as a gift from my son just sat in the box for about a year decided to try to hook it up today no power LEDs and no power to the outlet. Called customer support they said I would have to buy an extended warranty for 90. Dollars for them to replace it. I would advise against the purchase of this product at all cost

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game room link extender This product works well for repeating our WiFi signal to an opposite corner and floor of our two-story 2100sf brick home. Capable of handling 500mbps video game play (Xbox), mostly plug-and-play though we did have one of the units lose signal (replaced under warranty by NETGEAR). Will buy again if that day comes and technology still useful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product that Solved my Problem Our house was not wired with Ethernet cables and I could not get a wifi signal (I purchased a much needed upgraded router and tried a top of the line extender without any luck into our garage for a sprinkler control panel. I finally came across reviews for the Netgear Powerline 2000+ and figured I would try them out. I plugged the adapter into our power outlet next to the router and plugged the other one on the other side of the house. I pay for 100 mb and average about 98.3 to 98.5 next to the router. Testing the Netgear Powerline 2000+ I get around 97 to 97.3 from it. Since the speed was so good, I put the adapter in a bedroom next to our garage and turned my old router into an AP and now have 70% signal strength in the garage and backyard. Great product for the price, as I saved $60 over the "high end" extender

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When it works it works!! To date I actually have bought 4 of these. Two for myself and 2 (for a friend and my church). 3 worked perfectly!! Plug and play. Straight out the box. The one at church worked too but I had to make a slight adjustment to place the two separate room's plugs on one breaker (do not do this without professional help). Once that was done perfect connectivity was achieved. Two more friends want me to do the same thing at their place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected The Netgear power line plp2000 works well. It helps create a secure hardwire point where wifi might be lacking or devices with outdated wireless cards. We get about 75 to 80% of the speed through it which we get right out of the router. I am pleased with the product so far. My only complaint is we have already after a few months had to warranty one of the devices. The warranty process is not free as shipping is expensive. However the turn around time was acceptable. I liked this product enough I just gave one as a gift.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great. No problems Have only had this a few days. I can tell you it works as described. Purchased to reduce lag and increase speed on my son's Ni tendo Switch. I am so impressed I have an Ethernet cable on order that's long enough to reach the LAN connection on our 4K 55" LG OLED and to see what the adaptor does with my streaming and also the browser on the Smart tv. I expect it should work well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Great Great I was a bit skeptical at first but once I hooked them up (in less than 5 min.) I became a believer. I checked my internet speed b4 and after and there was a slight drop in speed. I hooked it to my smart TV (Sony Bravia) and my DirectV receiver and everything worked perfectly. I only have 50MB internet service from AT&T now, but I wanted to future proof my setup in case of technology upgrades. This one wasn't much more than the 1 gig units. This comes with 2 adapters and is really a snap to install. The ethernet cords that come with it are only 4' so you probably need to buy or make some the correct length b4 you start. Also the unit covers the lower part of your existing outlet making it impossible to plug in a 3 prong plug in the existing outlet but they give you an extra outlet built in the unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for an old house I moved into an old house with really thick walls that seriously cut down on the WiFi signal. These change the game for how easy they are to use. I’m only giving these four stars however because they need to be reset periodically or they lose their efficacy. Also, one of the four that I bought died, wouldn’t get power, but the customer service was pretty easy to work with, and the replacement is on its way! Thinking about getting another pack for the rest of my house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delivers solid 100MBps but isn't Wifi 802.11ac I received this yesterday to resolve a slow wireless area of my house. Speeds are consistently at 100MBps which is a tad slower than I had hoped but expectations were tempered by previous reviews that indicate 100Mbps is typical. So while it works and is stable for wired connections, I was very disappointed that it doesn't also extend WIFI 802.11ac (contrary to Netgear's website). So it's a pricy single wired solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How to add more u its I bought this product (so two physical units with one connected to my source LAN cable, and connection of my computer to the other (connecting my computer to the LAN cable/Internet). Works well, though as advertised, in deciding where to plug in the 2nd unit, some outlets give more speed than others (wonder why). But I have a question. If I were to order another one of these, will I only need the one existing unit connected to the source LAN cable, so that I can use the two new units to provide the Internet in other rooms? Or so I have to use one of them for a second source cable connection?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not the range needed I got these to extend my Wi-Fi to run a camera at the barn. A distance of 600 yards with a 110v circuit. They could never find the signal but worked in the house. I reached out to Netgear support via email and no help received after 8 days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from “Detached” Internet We have a detached metal garage about 100’ behind our house. I couldn’t get my wireless through the metal building, I could have a cable run from house for $$$ or a separate account. After many hours on phone my provider wouldn’t set us up with a second account unless the garage had a separate address. Since the power for the garage fed through the house electric meter the Netgear PPL200 solved our problem. For a lot less money than having a cable trenched and installed in conduit from the main house main house to garage I was able to get wired internet to garage in about ten minutes. Thanks NETGEAR.
