From the first use it was everything the representative said it was and I love it. Easy to set up if you follow the directions and the efficiency is unbelieveable.I have a 1900 square foot house that is 60 feet long. The Router for my internet is in one end of the house and will not reach to the other end. The Orbi was perfect. Placed the satellite in the middle and now have whole house wifi with no slowing down. Congratulations Netgear you have created a great product and I can hardly wait to see what you come up with next.

We were having constant problems with lag time and complete loss of Internet service in the upstairs portions of our home. Ee bought the Orbi and everything changed overnight. Now we have service in every room in our home and even in our front and backyard! I highly recommend do you Orbi system.

Great connection and signal everywhere in the home as well as fast speeds. The app though might need some help though that doesn't effect day to day use. Every time I open the app it asks me again to setup even though I already have, but I can bypass the setup easily enough to get into settings.

Installed the Orbital system and problem solved. Sardinia my son from crawling around in the attic stringing cable.

The Orbi system allowed the WiFi signal to reach well beyond that physical obstruction so our team members on "the other side of the wall" could have 100% signal. We are very satisfied with the performance.

I have had Orbi for about a week now and have had zero issues with it. Strong service throughout my 3 story home, even with the main router being located in the basement. The additional orbi satellite provided I believe makes this a must buy, especially for medium to large homes. Smaller homes you could possibly get away with just needing the router alone and no additional satellite

Now i get better speeds around the house, and even some coverage outside of my house which did not happen before. The set up was simple(once I had PPPoE login information from CL), and I was online in no time. On my previous router I was getting speeds of ~120 mbps and only ~2-10 in my office and back porch, now I am getting ~325 around the house and ~100 in the office and back porch.

The orbi is wonderful! Reliable, we love having the satellite in our room so our entire house is covered, every square inch! And it looks very sleek and smart. I'd recommend it to anyone wishing to have a strong internet connection to any device anywhere in their home.

I had tried a 5Ghz router in the past, but just couldn't get the range that I needed. The Orbi system so far, has proved to work well for me. I have a 2800sf two story home and it covers it well. It took a little 'experimenting' to find the right spot for the satellite , but it was time well worth spent. I do wish the Orbi came with. More than one Ethernet port. Other than the Ethernet port issue, I would buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So EASY to install!I can't believe how EASY it was to install Orbi! I changed out a complicated enterprise system with firewall (WAY overkill and old for the Orbi mini. Just had to make one call to our provider to make sure I had to include a piece of equipment that was connected to our cable (we have internet provided by microwave) and once I confirmed that it was connect to Orbi and follow instructions from the app! I now have coverage everywhere! No more spotty coverage! So far I'm loving my Orbi!

So glad I went with Orbi, while I can't say I use all the many features of the product, I love how fast, reliable, and seamless my internet service has become.

Fortunately, the peak plateau is most common at 179Mbps down and 23.8Mbps up. The lows are sporadic, and waver between 50 and 80Mbps down. EZ set up even with needing to bridge my modem-router combo. I can now install a few more WiFI gadgets knowing they will work as expected due to the strong signal.

With my previous wifi system I had problems with the TV disconnected. I have one of the satellites set-up next to the TV and am using an ethernet for a wired LAN connection between the satellite and TV. The TV hasn't dropped off the network once with this set-up.

The setup is relatively easy, but the app is cludgey. Initially after first setup it didn't detect my router anymore. A quick power cycle and it was detected and configured with the settings I had set. The speeds and coverage are great. Again, the app is clunky, it could be better it keeps thinking it's a new setup, but if i cancel that it shows me my current setup. Great product, but the app could be better. This review is for the RBK22 AC2200.

Had one issue where after an update I could not get logged back into my account and nothing would connect to the router. I performed a reset, deleted the app off of my phone, reinstalled everything and it works great now.

Personally, the speed could be better or more consistent as I get 100mbps (my max speed near the router but it drops to around 25-30mbps near the satellites. I also am not a huge fan of the fact that the signal seems to drop every now (symbolized by the orange light) and then, but since it seems to fix itself without need for me to interact with me it's not a huge issue.

We have two Firesticks and two Apple TV's along with two X-box's for gaming teenage boys and a heavily used iPad by my daughter. I can work on my laptop while the are playing on their devices and it still works flawlessly. Set up was easy and I love being able to pause the internet for a specific device, right from my phone.

It works great and I finally don't have to have an Ethernet cable running through my house to my office. I have noticed a substantial increase in our WiFi speed. I purchased the ORBI with 2 satellites. One satellite is in my office and one in the basement. So far, I am loving this product. I will update if anything changes.

The Orbi virtually set itself, I connected the router to my modem, it automatically connected, the satellite connected automatically and now I have full coverage to every corner in the house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally WiFi by the pool!!I have tried several different WiFi extenders to ensure a strong WiFi signal throughout my house and out to our pool area with no luck. We cut the cable cord, and stream tv through apps on our fire sticks (3. I also work remotely and have a VOIP phone. We needed the signal to cover those needs as well as outside so that we can stream music by the pool without using data, and to allow for flexibility to work by the pool when it bleeds outside traditional hours. This system supports the full house with faster speeds than before, provides the much-desired access by our pool area, and is easy to set-up and manage.

No more resetting the modem twice a day, but remember, it's not magical. It still requires a good signal coming in to give good WiFi going out.

It was crazy setup and had no other choice. Until Orbi, I have one SSID, best coverage throughout the house and backyard. I have such a strong signal and really easy to setup. Thank you Orbi.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock-solid performance and coverageI've had the Netgear Orbi mini working continuously in my 3500 square foot 2-level house for several months and it's been the most reliable router I've ever used, and that includes a pricey, upper-end alternative. Only a single reboot since it was flipped on (and I'm not sure it was the router's fault. In addition, the coverage is flawless throughout rhe house, including previous problem areas (the back bedroom and upper floor) with only a single satellite. Set-up with the app was also the quickest and easiest I've experienced to date. If this sounds like an ad rather than an honest review, I agree. It's that good. Now we'll just have to see if it holds up over time. Highly recommended (and I have).

Also the Orbi app doesn't cover the use case when the modem itself is a wireless router (in which case you need to turn off the WiFi there first).

However, I have had problems with the satellite connecting and disconnecting numerous times during the day and night. Also when I set up my specific SSID the 'Orbi08' SSID that came already set up would not disappear. I had to reset the system three times to get it set up.

After my initial setup, I renamed my network in the phone app and it hung up in the middle. From that point on for the next hour it kept defaulting to the initial setup. I switched to the desktop app to run the setup and rename again and everything has been awesome since! 25% better performance than my FiOS/repeater setup.

Once out of the office area, wifi was spotty and inconsistent... actually non-existent in the basement and the back deck area. After setup of this two unit mini Orbi, wifi signal is strong in the basement and back deck area.... all over this 4,000 Sq ft house... would recommend this Orbi to anyone seeking to drastically improve their wifi signal!

However, I think that Netgear has a ways to go in providing more advanced features in this setup. I would expect my speeds within my network on 5ghz to be faster than they currently are do to the single SSID limitations.

Strong, reliable signal throughout our 3,000 sq ft home. I could also keep my small smart devices on 2.4Ghz so it won't effect my speed. Now I can monitor how much internet I use and can block of some devices to boost my speed. I love it!

I recently bought a new 3000 sqft home that had issues keeping signal in the basement as well as in the bedrooms upstairs, but not anymore! We were able to put a satellite in the basement and our connectivity issues are a thing of the past. I also love the app that lets you see usage, connected devices, and gives you the ability to turn access on and off for devices. Best purchase I've made in a long time!

I think the recipient of the 3 pack is more pleased than I am. I don't see a huge difference, still very slow at times. Still new, and still figuring things out (I'm not terribly tech savvy) .. so I'll have to try and find out if it's a Wifi problem or a service provider problem. Hmmm

After looking at very expensive Orbi's, I settled on the AC2200 which offered WiFi up to 3,500 sq ft (my home is 2,500 sq ft. At first the setup was a little difficult (I'm definitely not computer savvy), however, after 1st reading the instructions & then going back and reread the instructions, it all connected together...Yippy, I succeeded! Once setup everything else was easy. I was excited at 1st, but now having trouble with other products & devices that somehow keep disconnecting & WiFi starts to buffer. So far I have been able to fix but I do not want it to continue. I shall update later.

(some of them were only 20 linear feet away from the router) so I tried repeaters and strong routers and I even tried calling Fios to see if they wanted to help. I spent years buying things and sending them back. finally I heard of this Mesh idea, losing interest and hope in between. I looked at all the comparison lists and ratings and decided that the Orbi was the one for me. I finally got it right. I have strong coverage from end to end. Not end of the house.. end of my property!... it covers with almost a full signal from one end of a 150 ft property to the other, outside the house. BEAUTIFUL!!!

The extender came with the unit works very well also. It is placed centrally in the house and affords us the same speeds as if we were in the same room with the base unit. I highly recommend the Orbi.

Or if it was you got only one bar. So looking at the satellite routers was where we decided to go because it wasn't financially smart to get 2 plans in two separate areas. This works like a dream. And ALL devices are connected. 

The Nighthawk worked well for the most part, but the reception in my basement was lacking. The Orbi completely solved that problem. We have Nest cameras, and with the Nighthawk the cameras would randomly lose network connection, and so far with the Orbi this hasn't happened once. I am very happy with this purchase.

My router is located in the lower basement level and we had weaker wireless spots throughout the home with our service from Medicom. I selected the 2 pack system vs. the 3 pack system from reviews I had read & thought the 3 pack would be overkill & almost double the cost. After 1 week we have been mostly pleased. I eventually placed the satellite unit on the 2nd floor as it gave the best coverage overall. I have a couple of weaker spots yet but they are isolated areas. If my home were larger than 3500 sq. ft. I would definitely go to the 3 pack unit and still might, with a satellite on each floor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good WIFIThe Orbi has good Wi-Fi and good remote management app. The only recommendation I have is for advance users to be able to separate the 5Ghz from 2.4 Ghz SSID. Currently the Orbi only broadcast 1 SSID and the devices don't always connect to the 5Ghz . Beyond that small change the Orbi has great range and fast performance.

After doing some research we opted to try pairing the modem with Orbi. We set all of our devices to forget the modem's router address and default to Orbi. Works REALLY WELL. The signals are max all over the house and the download speeds are exponentially faster than what we had been experiencing. Would HIGHLY recommend if you are seeking an enhanced signal. Especially if you have a larger home or like to sit on a deck/porch while streaming.

Only reason I gave it a four due to issues reconnecting satellite units if you decide to move it after the initial setup. In my old setup I had separate network for 2 and 5 ghz and you do not need to do that. I did not see instructions in the box on how to change the advanced setting. I tried to not broadcast the SSID but it caused issues with my devices and require to reconnect each device, so decided to turn on the broadcasting.

The far away locations from the satellite and/or router drops about 15% only which is great compared to the nighthawk model which dropped over 25% !! Would definitely recommend this unit!!!

We have 3 teenagers and multiple computers, tablets, phones, and smart devices (thermostats, printers, smart TVs, etc.). The Orbi system was so easy to set up via the Orbi app - we were up and running in less than 10 minutes! Rated 5 out of 5 by from works wells, few flaws need to be statedthe 5000 sq ft range as described in my use are as follows, if router serves as epicenter, my first satellite is placed no more than 40 ft away and 2nd satellite no more than 80 ft away from router in a straight line rather than triangulated based on home's floor plan (single story. I find that the closer satellite to router is sometime lacking due to the amber glow whereas the further does not. If anything i figure it would have been reversed where the further of 2 satellites would be impacted given the increase number of walls and space.On a good note, i originally intended to just get an extender but glad to have went with a mesh system instead. Also the ability to remotely control key functions are a great value in my opinion. Overall, great product, would recommend and have recommended to family and friends who are currently using such product with notable satisfaction.I hope this review helps your users.Best regards,DKH

My house is 80 feet wide with two interior brick walls and large central utility closet. The unit configured itself in Daisy Chain mode. I had no problem with 9 existing wifi devices. The only device I cannot not connect to is a Rachio Gen 1 irrigation controller. Both Rachio and Netgear say that "They are not compatible" and can not solve the problem. Orbi seems to be a very good product but there may be some incompatibility with some products.

One thing to note is it was a hassle trying to get the system to sync and I struggled with that for around 2 hours. I ended up ditching the phone app and went straight to Netgears website to sync our new system it worked way better.

The previous Netgear router I had was also good but didn't provide full coverage four our split level 2600 square foot house. With the mesh system we now have full signal everywhere in the house. The only issue I have found so far is that sometimes devices won't connect to the closest satellite but instead connect to the router even if it is farther away. Even though the signal still appears to be strong, the internet speeds are noticeably slower. Other than that, I am very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy set up with great coverage and speedThe Orbi system only took me 10-15 minutes to set-up. Much of that time was spent deciding where to put the stations. With two stations in my house and one in the detached garage I have internet faster than any other router I've used that covers not only every inch of my house but also my entire yard. My home automation devices have been working flawlessly since I've installed the Orbi system. I've had no problems with connections or disconnections despite the high network load.

My house has had so many problems with the internet connection reaching the whole house and with the Orbi I get it everywhere even outside. I have allot of iOT devices and the old router could not handle the load and was not getting the 100mb speed that my broadband supplies. With the Orbi Whole Home system I am getting great exceptional speed. My only issue is with the App on iOS, it does not have all the needed features and I need to use the web browser for complete setup.

The app told me I had the latest firmware, but when I logged into the user console from my laptop, I discovered a new firmware version existed. After downloading the firmware, the network has been rock solid.

My speeds increased tremendously all over the house. However, being an IT professional, I do wish there was one option of control, not currently available. I want the ability to assign a frequency. There is 1 streaming device in my home that only connects to the 5ghz. It performs VERY poorly at times, because it would do much better on the longer range 2.4. There is not a way for me to connect to 2.4, or assign permanently. With that ability - this product gets 5 stars.

I expected the new router and Netgear modem arrangement would be more peaceful. Happily they act like old friends and have not needed a reboot since installation 2 weeks ago. My wife's PC is on the second floor in the house and shielded by lath & plaster walls, a large I-beam and old-growth lumber framing (this is Seattle and houses constructed prior to 1940 were built that way). I have not measured her current speed yet but it is much faster than before. Easy and quick setup was great. Now every one is happy.

I was seeking a similar solution with very easy set-up, and this system was true to that aim. Took less than 10 mins to set-up the main network, and I then took another 10-15ish to put on a guest network and customize some advanced settings (which are done through the web portal). We now get 350mbps+ internet throughout our home with only a 300mbps subscription (seems like its running faster!) Really cannot recommend enough.

I had to hurry and set it up before my wife and I left on vacation with family watching the kids not having internet would not have been good. I spent 30 min setting it up. The app was easy to use with step by step directions. I chose the orbi over the google because the orbi comes eighth Disney circle for monitoring the internet in our home. Circle does a great job with internet filters as well as being able to set limits on screen time. I have a primary only and one satellite unit and they provide great coverage. I first set the system up with the satellite wireless then plugged it into ethernet as they are very far away in my home. I have full bars for internet coverage not only in my home, but good coverage outside as well. My home is about 3000 square ft. This was a great decision for me and I love the performance as well add the ease of use.

The speed is excellent between the Orbi base and Satellites. All of the Speedtest results throughout the house are over 150 megabits. As a plus I really like the addition of Circle and the ability to create profiles and control filters for appropriate Internet Usage. The free tier works fine for our needs. I would Recommend the Orbi to anyone with a larger house that needs uncompromising speed, easy setup, and content filtering options.

With 1 Router and 1 Satellite, 1 Router and 2 Satellites and my last installation was with 2 Orbi Systems Each with 1 Router and 2 Satellites. I set up 1 Router with 3 of the satellites. I also setup one Daisy Changed to a Router and then that router has one satellite. I covered 3 buildings and some court yards with very reliable wifi and one building had a private network.

Installation was a breeze. Upon going on line to complete the setup, firmware was automatically updated. No network knowledge needed to pair satellites to the base station router. Running FiOS 300 mbps/300 mbps connected directly through a Cat 5 jack - no modem involved - and then hardwired the Smart TV to the Orbi. Satellite on the other side of the house took a little bit of coaxing to connect, but once it did, everything has been running flawlessly.

The coverage, stability and speed of the wifi is the best I've seen from a home wifi system. The reason I'm not giving a 5 star review is that the setup was more difficult than I as expecting - particularly as it relates to my SONOS wireless sound system. SONOS does NOT like the mesh system that Orbi uses. It took several hours of messing with the system to realize I had to use a SONOS bridge hardwired into the Orbi router to work. I had to reset all my SONOS devices to factory settings and reconfigure the whole thing. So - if you're planning on using SONOS with Orbi, beware that it won't work if you're using the SONOS wifi connection method. Other than that I couldn't be more pleased.

I was very happy with my previous Netgear system so I wanted to stick with Netgear. I have a three story home (includes the basement and I liked the idea of a satellite booster. So far, all is working great! We utilize steaming TV services now, my kids have smartphones now, and I work from home on my computer. All devices are operating well on this system. No lapse in coverage throughout the house. I do wish I could create a guest account on this WiFi - and maybe I can - I just haven't discovered it yet, for the visiting kids that come into the home. Otherwise, I'm very pleased so far!

Scanning the codes to activate the equipment was a nice feature. WiFi is powerful and finally is bringing the internet speed I've had but was held back by an old router. I had also installed a new modem and had issues with ISP that rhymes with Mectrum, and Orbi Service was able to tell me exactly what to tell Mectrum their problem was. Dark spots in the house now have very strong signal. Thanks Orbi!

Prior to purchasing this particular model (R23W), I called NETGEAR customer service to discuss which Orbi model would be best for my situation. After going through several questions, NETGEAR suggested this model. It was very easy to setup, by just following the on-line instructions/videos. I now have whole home coverage, taking advantage of the 150 mbps from my internet supplier. As we have cut the cord, the Orbi is perfect for our streaming TV.

I can hack the router to separate a 2.4 SSID, but then I might as well have a traditional 2x router. Anyway I'm going to just get a new dual band WiFi camera and keep the Orbi seamlessly meshing.

The satellite units even allowed for WiFi access in the hard to reach areas of the house that are blocked by concrete and metal. The coverage is better than my single router system in the past. It covers two floors of the house well, and most of the front and back yard. The one thing I wish this router has is the ability to connect to an external VPN.

Downside is my main problem is thick plaster walls blocking wifi and I still need to have clear line of sight to satellites for good signal. I can't put a satellite every 10 ft to get the best signal strength. The downstairs satellite picks up enough signal to give me internet connection, but not great

Then on the second day my rokus were connected, but none of the channels worked. Even my phone had trouble accessing websites. So I used the Chat Support in the Orbi app and they helped me get everything fixed and working in about 15 minutes. Now it works great! I get much better signal than with just my FIOS router and the coverage around my 1400 sq ft house is great with the one satellite. So far I love it and the service!

Beacause ORBI allows configuration of Wifi bands and channels I was able to resolve the conflict. ORBI support experience was great. I would highly recommend the product.

It automatically selects whether you are connected to the 2.4 or the 5 which bugged me. With that being said, I really like this product.

I recommend this product if you have a large home or if you have hard to reach areas. We've always had very favorable results with Netgear products, mainly because they are easy to install and very reliable.

Be aware that you'll have to place the satellites closer than you would in a stick structure, but you will get the coverage that you need. When ordering a system I'd always advise purchasing one with 1 more satellite than you think you need. As radio frequencies become more crowded by devices you may require a little room to grow. If you run into any problems setting up the satellites, setting them up with the manual sync switches (base first then satellite(s within the two minute window) seems to be a bit more successful than relying on the app. The app does work well on initial setup in easier installations however.

The installation process is getting easier although I still think your marketing people are still writing to a more sophisticated user than you actually have installing the system. I realize you (Net Gear) are trying to make the instillation process super clean and easy by using as few words as possible, but you may have gone to far. How many end users (like me) spent the first ten minutes trying to download the Orbi install app on a computer? How many of us do you think are REPLACING a combo modem/router which, in most cases needs to have the router (or wifi) portion turned off before the Orbi is going to work right? (hint: lots!)Remember: you are communicating to lay people NOT fellow engineers.

We have often blamed the internet provider when we should have been blaming our old router. This purchase has stopped buffering and allows 5 family members access to their devices at the same time without any issues. We have wonderfully fast internet with Charter / Spectrum, but the signal didn't 'stretch' all the way from the one side of the main floor to the far other side of the house on the second floor... so our son had no signal. A co-worker recommended Eero or Orbi... BestBuy recommended Orbi.... our son noticed that Orbi was same rating for $100 less AND it's NetGear, just like our WiFi router.So we purchased Orbi... and in 10-15 minutes we had the base and two satellites providing 200Meg service to all 20+ devices throughout the houser (iMacs, iPads, iPods, Alexas, wifi smartplugs and more)!Thank you, NetGear!

The app was easy to use. The router and both satellites were installed in about 10 minutes with no problems. Configuration using the app took about another 10 minutes. Everything worked perfectly. The resulting WiFi system is performing excellently. I ran a Speedtest in three different parts of my house and the result was four times better than my previous system. I strongly recommend Netgear Orbi to everyone.

The new router works as expected and I must say routers have improved a lot in the last 4 to 5 years. The set up is not challenging. I like the Phone app included with the system. The mesh routing is impressive. I do not have slower speeds in my house anymore. The only caveat is the Wi-Fi scale in my house does not always read the router right away but that could be an issue caused by the scale and not the router itself. If it continues I will reboot the router and the scale from a new set up mode. I am happy with the purchase and glad I made the move.

The WiFi reception within the house is remarkable improved also the loss in WiFi speed is minimal these days. I would recommend this to folks looking for consistent WiFi speed throughout. Especially folks who would be working from home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Router and Sattelite range and speed.....I was very skeptical when i got Orbi and wasnt sure if it will resolve my connectivity and speed issues as i have my Fios router on the first floor and need a good connection on 2nd floor and Basement as i have Smart tv's in both the places but after setting up Orbi i can definitely say that those issues are resolved and i get amazing speed and range. I will surely recommend Orbi to anyone and everyone. It is worth each and every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the bestThis is the 3rd mesh system I have used and it is the best so far. The back haul communication system really frees up bandwidth for users. On my 5Ghz network I get wired speeds. Parental controls through circle are good and I love the fact that this system has a web GUI as well as a phone app. This is the system I'm going to keep for sure!

The range is easily large enough to cover my entire house and yard. I use to have to manually restart my router to keep it going, but so far this router has not needed any restarts. I highly recommend any orbi system.

Only reason for the 4 stars is that there is no option to manage the Orbi network through a browser on your laptop/desktop. Also during setup when changing the network settings will cause a hang up on your device not being able to find the network and a reset of your modem and Orbi router are required.
